“Lose Control” Hot 100, top 10. Your first time in the top 10 on the chart, man. How’s that feel?

Teddy Swims:
It feels great. I’m just humbled and justified.

Tetris Kelly:
I mean, the promo tour for the song to me has been so impressive. You’ve been on The Kelly Clarkson Show, The Voice, Today show. How’s it been to, like, be in front all these audiences performing?

Teddy Swims:
Really amazing. I think, I think especially with with Kelly, like, that was just so cool to be in such a huge fan forever. You know, she was like, this whole season. She’s like, “Just give me Teddy Swims! Give me Teddy Swims.” And I was just so thrilled that she was like, such a fan, you know? And I was like, “Oh, my God.” I just … I didn’t, you know, I didn’t expect the kind of energy of her being such a fan. And, and it was such a huge thing.

Taylor Swift dropped the track list for her brand-new album and it packs some star power and the fan theories are already floating. Let’s break it down, Swifties.

My brand-new album comes out April 19th. It’s called ‘The Tortured Poets Department.’

Tetris Kelly
The brand-new album is just a few months away and today we received the track list with song titles like “Down Bad” and “But Daddy I Love Him.” I see you, Ariel reference! And it features artists like Post Malone on “Fortnight” and Florence + The Machine on “Florida!!!” with three exclamation marks and with tracks like “So Long London” and “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,” fans think the album will be about her breakup from her British boyfriend of six years, Joe Alwyn. And there are other things they pointed out about the April 19th release date. It’s the same day last year that Taylor went to dinner with friends Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively and they unfollowed Joe on Instagram. It’s also the day in 1775 that British and American soldiers exchanged fire in the Massachusetts towns of Lexington and Concord starting the Revolutionary War. Never a slow day as a fan of Taylor Swift. While Taylor’s touring Asia, you have so many chances to see your faves all over the world.

Country Icon Toby Keith Dies at 62 After Fight With Stomach Cancer | Billboard News

Singer-songwriter Toby Keith passed “peacefully last night on February 5th, surrounded by his family,” according to a statement on his official website.

Tetris Kelly:
Country legend Toby Keith has died at the age of 62.

Toby Keith’s family released a statement letting fans know the singer passed away peacefully last night surrounded by his family after battling stomach cancer. Toby made not only a huge impact on country music with 20 No. 1 hits on the Hot Country Songs Chart and the Country Airplay Chart, but on the music industry in general, charting 39 Billboard Hot 100 hits with four of his 19 studio albums reaching No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Less than two months ago, Toby played three sold-out shows in Vegas, and just prior to that, he took the stage at the People’s Choice Country Awards, where he accepted the Icon Award.

Black History Month Spotlight: Sylvia Rhone, Executive Behind Nicki Minaj & More | Billboard News

For Black History Month, Billboard is celebrating by highlighting some of the greatest Black executives in music. Today, we’re celebrating Sylvia Rhone.

I’m very proud to run a label where our senior leadership is 53.6% women and 57.1% people of color.

For Black History Month, Billboard is celebrating by highlighting some of the greatest Black executives in music. Today, we’re celebrating Sylvia Rhone.

Sylvia Rhone:
Forty years is a long time in any business. Warner Music Group for 28 years, Universal Motown for seven years, and now Sony Music Group for 10-plus years.

Tetris Kelly:
Sylvia Rhone became the first Black executive and woman to hold the dual title of CEO and Chairman, when she was appointed at Epic Records in 2019. Prior to that, she held senior roles at all three major record companies. In 1990, Sylvia was the first Black woman to head a major record label when she became CEO/President of Atlantic’s East West Records US Division. Always a champion for women, she helped artists like En Vogue, MC Lite, Missy Elliott and Nicki Minaj reach stardom. She was an integral part in the success of all of Young Money.

Sylvia Rhone:
I’m certainly really proud of the artists that I work with and the biggest thrill is to see them be successful.

Tetris Kelly:
Currently at Epic Records, she’s been a key part of the success of Camila Cabello, DJ Khaled, Travis Scott and 21 Savage. Last year, when she took home Executive of the Year at Billboard’s Women in Music, she told us, “I am focused on creating power by creating a culture where the creativity of artists on our roster can flourish and there is an exchange of ideas, culture and information from a diverse group of creatives and executives.”

Sylvia Rhone:
I’m still as excited about the business today as I was over 40 years ago, because it’s simply simply my passion.

Tetris Kelly:
Today we honor an epic woman in the music industry, Sylvia Rhone.

2024 Grammys Controversies: Killer Mike Arrested, SZA Snubbed & More | Billboard News

Here are some controversial moments from the 2024 Grammy Awards.

Tetris Kelly:
While the Grammys is a night of celebrating music, it doesn’t go off without its fair share of controversy.

Presenter:
The Grammy goes to Killer Mike.

Tetris Kelly:
Killer Mike’s Grammy day was one for the books. He took home three trophies at the Grammy Premiere Ceremony, winning every award he was nominated for.

Killer Mike:
I want to thank everyone who dares to believe that art can change the world.

Tetris Kelly:
But before the broadcast even began, The Hollywood Reporter captured Killer Mike in handcuffs being removed from Crypto.com Arena. According to the LAPD, he was detained for an altercation at the event. Killer Mike was booked for misdemeanor battery and released later that evening. Speaking of rap Grammys, one of Killer Mike’s awards, best rap song, was mistakenly announced as being won by Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice for “Barbie World.” Many Barbz were upset because this would have been Nicki Minaj’s first Grammy after 12 nominations.

When it came time for the actual show, Jay-Z called out the Recording Academy for recognizing Beyoncé’s music, but never given her album of the year.

Jay-Z:
I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won album of the year, so even by your own metrics, that doesn’t work.

Tetris Kelly:
Behind the scenes, Miley Cyrus called out Flavor Flav.

Miley Cyrus:
You know it’s me! I’ve made it! You don’ think I’m Gwen Stefani anymore!

Tetris Kelly:
But of course it was all in good fun.

Hot 100 Chart Reveal: Feb. 10 | Billboard News

Benson Boone joins the top 10 with “Beautiful Things,” Doja Cat’s “Agora Hills” and Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control” are the only two songs that keep their exact spots from last week’s chart, and we have a new queen that everyone has been talking about at top of the top 10. This is the Billboard Hot 100 top 10 for the week dated Feb. 10. SZA falls one spot to 10 with “Snooze,” while 21 rises one spot with “Redrum.”

Benson Boone joins the top 10 with “Beautiful Things” in his second week, “Agora Hills” stays put at seven, Zach and Kasey slipped one spot to six, and Tate McRae’s “Greedy” falls to five. Teddy holds steady at No. 4 with “Lose Control.”

Taylor’s “Cruel Summer” spends this week at No. 3. Jack Harlow’s “Lovin on Me” falls to No. 2.

And debuting at No. 1 in her first week is Megan Thee Stallion with “Hiss.”

It was ladies’ night at the Grammys, proving girls really do run the world. Hey it’s Tetris with Billboard News I’m at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards. I’m gonna be running down tonight’s big winners, losers and the biggest performances.

Dua Lipa opened the show with her new single “Training Season.”

Tetris Kelly
and served a ton of choreo. Miley Cyrus won not only the first Grammy of the night, but also the first Grammy of her career.

Oh my god, I just got stuck in the rain in traffic and thought I was gonna miss this moment. And I could have missed the award that’s fine, but not Mariah Carey.

Tetris Kelly
And went on to perform her Grammy winning song for the first time on TV.

We also saw iconic performances from Billie Eilish, SZA and Olivia Rodrigo Travis Scott, 21 Savage, Brandy and Burns Boy brought the fun and we honor legends Tina Turner, Billy Joel and Joni Mitchell. And this performance had everybody talking, Luke Combs and Tracy Chapman performing “Fast Car” was a fan favorite. When it comes to the awards Best Musica Urbana Album went to Karol G.
