Macklemore and Ryan Lewis took over the Billboard charts in 2013 with their tracks “Thrift Shop” and “Can’t Hold Us.” Songs from Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience were all over the charts, and P!nk and Nate Ruess topped the Billboard Hot 100 with their electric hit “Just Give Me a Reason.” Narrator: It was the […]

Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney reflect on their 20-year journey as The Black Keys. The duo elaborates on the various collaborations of their new album ‘Ohio Players,’ including Juicy J, Noel Gallagher from Oasis, Lil Noid and more. They also share some insight into their upcoming tour, what the fans can expect on the setlist and more!

Patrick Carney:

One night we were working here at Sunset and there’s a, there was, a very rare record that Dan wanted on eBay.

Dan Auerbach:

I had been waiting a year and a half to get it.

Patrick Carney:

He didn’t know that I knew that it was on eBay, and like, there was three minutes left, and it started jacking the price up. I was like watching him sweat because-

Dan Auerbach:

He was behind me laughing. I didn’t know what he was laughing at and I was just freaking out because somebody else was bidding so heavy on this thing. I’ve been waiting like six days for this auction.

Dan Auerbach:

Hey, I’m Dan.

Patrick Carney:

I’m Patrick, we’re The Black Keys and you’re watching Billboard News.

Lyndsey Havens:

Hey, I’m Lyndsey Havens for Billboard News. And we are here with the legendary hitmaking duo The Black Keys. What’s up, guys?

Patrick Carney:

What’s up? How are you?

Lyndsey Havens:

Album came out just a few weeks ago, how are we feeling?

Patrick Carney:

We’re stoked. We’re very happy with the album. We’re excited for the year ahead.

Lyndsey Havens:

So this is your 12th album, obviously, a long road to get here. Do you have any rituals before you release an album at this point? Or does it all sort of feel the same?

Patrick Carney:

I heard that Chris Martin like … when he prepares to write, he likes to isolate himself and read all the bad reviews.

J Balvin takes Billboard behind the scenes of his out of this world Coachella set. The Latin superstar shared his creative vision, a closer look at his alien space ship, bringing the aliens to life, getting Will Smith to make a guest appearance and more on this episode of Tour Stop.

J Balvin:You know, finally we see that they do exist, you know it’s an official UFO. For the people that are gonna be on mushrooms, they’re gonna enjoy that s–t so bad. Gonna be the best mushrooms of their life.

Cassie Bartho:Never a dull moment.

J Balvin:Hey, what’s up? I’m J Balvin, and welcome to my tour stop. Let’s go!

We did Coachella for the first time: 2018 was with Beyoncé. Shout out, Beyoncé! Love you, queen. 2019 we did our show — it was great. And the story it’s once again is the same: I invest all my love, I invest everything, I had to give the people the best.

Ashley Evans:We’ve done Coachella before with Jose …

J Balvin:Listen.

Ashley Evans:This is my time!

J Balvin:I know it’s your time. But you know, I just want to let you know that this guys are from another planet. That’s his dad right there. He’s an alien.

Tetris Kelly:Do you trust him with your set?

J Balvin:1,000%. It probably wouldn’t be the same stage or show without him.

Ashley Evans:Our concept for the show was to take people to outer space. We wanted to come up with a message that Jose is from another planet and he’s landed here at Coachella, and he’s got one message for the entire world and the entire festival. It’s like, ‘Let’s f–king party.’

J Balvin:As a kid, I was have this feeling that aliens do exist in the universe … [it’s] too big. And we got to be too selfish to think that we just the only ones in this universe.

Tetris Kelly: Can fresh tracks from Sabrina Carpenter and Hozier hold off four former No. 1s from the top? This is the Billboard Hot 100 top 10 for the week dated April 27th. SZA is back in the top 10 with “Saturn.” “Sticks Season” rises a spot to No. 9. Ariana stays put at No. […]

For a while now Sexyy Red has been the talk of the town for a bevy of reasons, and though she tends to be overlooked due to the popularity of other female rappers such as Ice Spice and Megan Thee Stallion, Red continues to do her thing and steal the spotlight any chance she gets.

Lending her talents to Chief Keef and Mike WiLL Made-It for their visuals to “DAMN SHORTY,” Sexyy Red and company hit the streets in some exotic automobiles before hitting up a fancy restaurant where they take in an elegant meal while smoking on some bud much to the “delight” of the waiters and host.
