Country singer Bailey Zimmerman plays a game of Never Have I Ever at the Billboard Country Live event.

Bailey Zimmerman:What’s up, y’all? I’m Bailey Zimmerman, and this is Never Have I Ever.

Producer:Never have I ever lied to get out of a speeding ticket.

Bailey Zimmerman:I have, my first one. And it didn’t go good. I got a bigger ticket for lying.

Producer:Never have I ever made a fake social media account.

Bailey Zimmerman:Never. I’ve made a private one, but not a fake one.

Producer:Never have I ever dumped someone over text.

Bailey Zimmerman:I def have. I definitely have dumped somebody over text. And if it was you, I’m so sorry.

Producer:Never have I ever forgotten lyrics on stage.

Bailey Zimmerman:I have, almost every night. I get so into the music that I get so into just seeing people just cry and scream and I’m having so much fun that I sometimes forget what I’m singing. But it’s fine. It’s a good time.

Producer:Never have I ever dated two people at one time.

Bailey Zimmerman:Never. I’ve never done that — and I will never do that. That sounds awful. Could you imagine trying to keep, oh my gosh, that’d be awful. I don’t do that.

Producer:Never have I ever seen a ghost.

Bailey Zimmerman:I want to say I have never seen a ghost, but man, that makes me so scared because what if I do see one now because I said I haven’t?

Producer:Never have I ever overdrafted my bank account.

Bailey Zimmerman:Oh, I’m sure I have. I’m sure I have. My bank was just so small town that they never told me about it. They just let it kind of slide, but I’m sure I’ve been over before. Oh yeah. Everybody has! Who hasn’t been red in the bank account? Of course!

DJ Drama was allegedly beaten and robbed by a group of reported gang members in Toronto over the weekend, with the thieves showing off Drama’s chain in a widely circulated clip. During the video, the men shouted out Drake, who DJ Drama had beef with but recently squashed it.
According to the accounts of several rap Twitter handles, DJ Drama was cornered by a group calling themselves the GGG Demons and showing off themselves with what is alleged to be Drama’s chain. The men can be heard shouting out their set and blasting Drama for not “checking in” with them.

A deeper Twitter search revealed that the alleged incident actually took place inside the Century nightclub itself according to the claims written in the tweet below.
“A man messaged the betting group last night saying “Biiiiiiig fight at my club tonight lol. Man’s jumped dj drama and this guy is still GUSHING blood like 20mins later” and than another man called me saying he witnessed it live,” the Twitter user wrote.

While we haven’t been able to locate the original source of the video, @6ixBuzzTV shared the clip along with several other outlets at this juncture.’

DJ Drama has yet to address the alleged attack and robbery. Drake has yet to announce anything either.

Joseline Hernandez knows a thing or two about drama as fans have seen since her years on the Love & Hip Hop franchise and her reality series, Joseline’s Cabaret. The “Puerto Rican Princess” is back in headlines again after reports that she and former Joseline’s Cabaret star Big Lex were involved in a backstage altercation after Floyd Mayweather and John Gotti III’s fight, which erupted into a brawl as well.
Joseline Hernandez, 36, was captured on camera phone video walking backstage at the FLA Live Arena over the weekend. After the Mayweather-Gotti fight erupted into a brawl when the grandson of the famed Italian mobster was disqualified in the 6th round and continued to try and hit the former champion. This came after it was waved off by the referee. Mayweather’s team came to stop Gotti’s advances, which was largely ineffective, and things got heated naturally.
What sparked Hernandez to dish out the taper and fade on Big Lex has plenty of moving parts, and it took a group of people to separate the two but not before Big Lex was pulled out of her top. Big Lex was largely bested by Hernandez, and another man, reportedly Hernandez’s husband, was involved in the fracas. Even after they were split, Hernandez continued swinging at anyone in the vicinity and eventually had a drink flung at her which only egged the situation on further.
Fans on Twitter, which is where we gathered much of this information thus far, shared clips of Big Lex in previous times having some choice words for Hernandez. Big Lex also reportedly dissed the Zeus Network and anyone affiliated with the outfit.
In a new TMZ report, it revealed that Hernandez was arrested and booked on four charges.
On Twitter, folks have plenty to say about Joseline Hernandez putting the beats on Big Lex and anyone else who wanted. We’ve got those reactions below.

Little Brother remains one of the best groups in Hip-Hop history and their impact and influence is still flourishing some two decades later. Phonte and Rapper Big Pooh recently shared in an excellent podcast interview plenty about their background, including saying that had a heavy influence on Kanye West when the Chicago superstar was early on the rise.
Little Brother sat down with the Dear Culture podcast, hosted by Panama Jackson. The three gentlemen discussed the early days of Little Brother, the impact of their 2003 album The Listening, and the nature of their relationship with their former bandmate, 9th Wonder.

Fans of the group are well aware of the track “I See Now” which features a strong verse from Kanye West and it would probably figure that the producer and rapper, a member at the time of the sprawling Roc-A-Fella camp, served as an inspiration but Little Brother says it was the other way around.
From theGrio:
Panama Jackson: There are a lot of groups in hip hop who will never be remembered. Y’all will never be forgotten. Like do y’all ever sit back, reflect on that part of it? Like y’all literally cemented a spot in a genre of music in hip-hop that will never be forgotten.
Phonte: Um yeah, I mean Pooh I’ll let you take it but I’ll just say. I think it was more so you know, Kanye didn’t influence us, we influenced him.
Panama: Yeah.
Phonte: So you know I just want to put that out there and make sure that’s clear. Pooh you can take it from here.
Panama: Make it clear right, I’m with you.
Big Pooh: Every now and again you have the moments where you like, damn, you know, look what we did. Or look at the impact, you know, that that we’ve had. But, you know, like, even when we when I saw they have put our name up at the Grammys when they was doing the fifth year of hip hop, and they had our name and it was front and center like that was that was one of the moments I was like, oh, censor word like, it was definitely one of the moments, it was just like, I expect us to always have quality. I expect excellence. But it’s still unexpected when people or when you step back and start seeing the high regard were held in. Not that we don’t deserve it. It’s just I’ve been so busy doing the work I don’t take a lot of time to. You know, sit back and acknowledge the work.

It goes without saying that Cardi B has come a long way from being an unknown up-and-coming Hip-Hop artist on Love & Hip Hop: New York to a Grammy award-winning multimillionaire.

So, it was only right that the Bronx-born Hip-Hop superstar headlined Hot 97’s Summer Jam Sunday. And there to give some much-deserved flowers was her ride-or-die sibling, Hennessy Carolina.

Taking to social media to praise her big sister and the accomplishments she’s achieved thus far in the music industry, Hennessy Carolina posted some videos from Cardi’s Summer Jam set with a caption that read, “I had sooo much fun last night! My sister was meant for this! It’s crazy how we use to go to house parties and the whole party would surround my sister in a circle to watch her perform and now look how far you’ve gotten  God is good & Dreams do come true…”

You gotta love it.
Cardi herself acknowledged the love and support she got from the tri-state area at her Summer Jam performance and thanked everyone for showing up and showing out along with the artists who came on her set to make it a memorable one.
“NEW YORK thank you for showing me so much love! People had nasty things to say for weeks just for it to sell out and turn out amazing. I haven’t released music in a long time but this definitely motivated me to get back outside. Thank you to all artists who came out during my set and all of the other amazing artists on the line up… WE DID THAT!!”

Looks like it was a helluva set for the “Bodak Yellow” rapper.
From vying for DJ Self’s support on Love & Hip Hop to breaking all kinds of Billboard records with continuous chart-topping songs for a female rapper, Cardi B reached the stars and is living the life that many artists only dream of. Y’all know DJ Self kicking himself for picking MariahLynn over Cardi B. Just sayin’.
Check out some more vids of Cardi B doing her thing at Summer Jam below, and let us know if you were at the concert and had a good time in the comments section below.

Sprite has been a central proponent of Hip-Hop music and culture dating back to the 1980s and that synergy remains true more than almost four decades later. As Hip-Hop celebrates its 50th anniversary this summer, Sprite launched a new campaign last week featuring notable figures Rakim, Nas, Latto, and GloRilla.
Sprite first joined forces with Hip-Hop back in 1986 with a commercial spot with Kurtis Blow and over the years worked alongside the likes of Grand Puba, A Tribe Called Quest, Missy Elliott, LL Cool J, and others.

For its summer campaign, Long Island, N.Y. legend Rakim, Queensbridge lyricist Nas, Georgia’s Latto, and rising Memphis star GloRilla all appear in a new spot for the popular soft drinks brand. The commercial runs concurrently with the release of a limited-edition flavor and the sponsorship of a concert tour along with merch drops and fan experience opportunities.
Using an interpolation of The Sugarhill Gang’s classic “Rapper’s Delight” track, the quartet runs through their bars paying homage to the culture that pays them with plenty of shots of Sprite featured in the commercial.
A.P. Chaney, Creative Director for Sprite North America, said the brand’s longstanding hip-hop credentials are unmatched.
“Our resume speaks for itself,” A.P. Chaney, Creative Director for Sprite North America., said. “Sprite took a chance on hip-hop before it was cool, and has always been of the culture, not only for the culture. We’ve shown up for both moments big and small, amplifying the endless possibilities of the now-omnipresent hip-hop lifestyle and its profound impact on music, sports and fashion. So, it’s only fitting that we pay homage to all hip-hop has been, is and will be.”
Well said.
Keeping with the theme of the campaign, the brand remixed its original flavor with the drop of its limited-edition Lymonade Legacy, a blast of strawberry lemonade that still retains that crisp bite of flavor. At 7-Eleven, the Lymonade Legacy is an exclusive fountain drink and frozen drink flavor.

Fans of the original and new fans of Lymonade Legacy will both feature new designs coinciding with the birth of Hip-Hop. QR codes will appear on the beverage offerings over the summer for fans to enter online “Drop Shops” complete with giveaways and other content that showcase a creative nod from the artists mentioned in the summer campaign.
“Our “Summer of Drops” focuses on our fans’ passion points — music, fashion, art and entertainment — and draws inspiration from sneakerhead drop culture,” Aaliyah Shafiq Ely, VP, Sparkling Flavors Category, added in a comment. “The diverse array of prizes offers something for everyone to get excited about, and our overall campaign is the latest example of Sprite responding to what fans want with both experiences and products.”

Some of those experiences and products include meet-and-greet tickets for Drake’s “It’s All A Blur” and lifetime passes to the Rolling Loud festivals. For Drake, this marks the 11th year since he’s partnered with Sprite, and his tour is his first such outing in five years.

Over the weekend, The Roots Picnic out in Philadelphia was making noise for some of its surprise sets such as the reunion of State Property, but fans in attendance were really taken aback when Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, and Pras reunited to become The Fugees one more time.

According to TMZ, the multiplatinum rap group put the band together for what could be the last time this past Saturday (June 3) during The Roots Picnic Music Festival and while on stage performed “Ready or Not” much to the delight of the surprised crowd.

Though it’s not clear if they went into their illustrious catalog of hits, their mere presence was enough reason to celebrate as the group hasn’t been on the same stage for quite some time and may not get a chance to do so for again as Pras is facing up to two decades in prison of conspiracy for defrauding the United States.

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of her classic album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, L-Boogie was doing her thing on stage before Wyclef and Pras eventually joined her and got the crowd rowdy and rocking.
TMZ reports:
Sounds like the show went off without a hitch, and the festival’s key organizer — Questlove — was certainly grateful. He took to IG with a throwback post of one of The Fugees’ first gigs, noting this may well be one of the final times they join forces like this in this setting.
He wrote, “@MsLaurynHill did us a solid by letting us not only letting us celebrate with her the classic #MiseducationOfLaurynHill but she also made a moment by bringing together her bredren @WyclefJean & @PrasMichel … I’m giving all the gratitude for making this miracle of a night happen.”With OG artists from the golden era like Nas and Wu-Tang Clan going on tour, hopefully, The Fugees can put something together for their day-ones before Pras is eventually sentenced and taken out of the picture.Check out another video of their time on stage below and let us know in the comments if you’d like to see a Fugees tour come to your city.https://twitter.com/Philly_PR_Girl/status/1665209280184700928

One of the culture’s most preeminent pioneers was celebrated in his hometown this week. Grandmaster Flash has received an honorary degree from Lehman College.

As per HipHopDX, the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame member graced the stage at the educational intuition but not behind the turntables. On Thursday, June 1 he attended Lehman College’s 2023 Spring Commencement Ceremony. He was joined by former New York State Rep. José Rivera where both of them received honorary degrees; the DJ received his honorary doctorate in Music.

See an Instagram post here.

Grandmaster Flash spoke to the graduating class and made sure to credit the Bronx for placing him at the birthplace of Hip-Hop.
“We from the Bronx — we are starters, we are finishers, we are very, very important” he stated. “And I must tell you, young people, as you go out into the world, you will probably do what I did… [and] [make] mistakes. I cannot tell you how many mistakes I made before the technique finally came into fruition. I say to young people, as you leave here, you will scrape your knees, [that’s] guaranteed, but we Bronx people, we go hard.”
He closed his speech by saying that this degree is his most special accolade because it was bestowed to him in the Bronx and from a Bronx institution. You can see the ceremony below.

Gunna became persona non grata in the aftermath of the legal woes suffered by Young Thug and others within the YSL camp which lead to him getting slapped with snitching allegations. Gunna returned to the scene this Friday (June 2) with a new track “Bread & Butter” and the rapper hits back at snitching allegations while also appearing to address Lil Durk, Lil Baby, and all anyone else he feels switched up on him.
Gunna has kept a rather low profile as the YSL RICO case in Georgia is still ongoing with his former Young Stoner Life mentor Young Thug and a host of codefendants pushing to clear their names.
The track “Bread & Butter” is the first solo song from Gunna since a heap of accusations came his way that he provided evidence to prosecutors in order to secure his freedom from the YSL RICO sweep. From what we gathered online, the “Bread & Butter” track doesn’t have a home just yet but does seem to signal Gunna is back in the mix.
Lyrics from “Bread & Butter”:
Never f*cked a n*gga, always stayed solid/Kept it real with n*ggas, never lied and always stay honest/Love my bro so much, I never change on ’em/Hunna Wunna go and do the work, bring you the damn profits/Hustled on my own, I always did know how to sеll product/They ain’t gave me sh*t, I grind so long, camе from the damn bottom/Every n*gga speakin’ on my name could have some real problems/We are not the same, ain’t in my lane, I got my own column, yeah/Peepin’ sh*t, I’m seein’ n*ggas fall back/You b*tch-ass n*ggas got me as the topic of the chat/You switched on me when you know you in business with a rat/And the boy that’s like your brother, and nobody speak on that
While names aren’t given, fans online are assuming that Gunna is taking shots at the likes of Lil Durk and his past collaborator Lil Bay specifically while also addressing others who put the snitching allegations on his jacket.
On Twitter, fans are commenting track and we’ve got the video for the song and those reactions listed below.

The greatest thing about Hip-Hop, apart from the culture’s diverse catalog of timeless music, is its ability to encourage thought, conversation and action.
Music aficionados can turn to Hip-Hop no matter the mood or state of mind. There are rap songs that talk about poverty, the drug trade, and education; records that delve into the paradigms of parenthood and family matters. There are tunes that even the romantics and in love can rock to. But no genre does a better job of analyzing the politics of warfare.

For better or worse, these songs are rooted in the military mind. Some advocate strapping on your boots and going to combat (both literally and figuratively), while others recount a tale of battle. In light of Memorial Day, here are 13 military-themed rap songs. These ought to remind us that conflict, off and on home soil, is real.
