It’s been nearly 20 years since Seinfeld star Michael Richards went on a career-upending racist tirade at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles in 2006. Since then, he has apologized for his outburst and claimed he isn’t really racist despite the explicitly racist words that poured loudly and passionately out of his mouth.

Now, he’s on his apology tour once again ahead of the release of his memoir that nobody asked for, Entrances and Exits.

“I was immediately sorry the moment I said it onstage,” Richards told People magazine of the infamous moment in which he repeatedly called at least one Black audience member the n-word for reportedly heckling him. “I’m not looking for a comeback.” (Well, maybe not, but he’s promoting a memoir, which makes his little two-decade-late mea culpa just as self-serving as it would if he was trying to make a comeback.)
“My anger was all over the place and it came through hard and fast,” he continued. “Anger is quite a force. But it happened. Rather than run from it, I dove into the deep end and tried to learn from it. It hasn’t been easy. Crisis managers wanted me to do damage control. But as far as I was concerned, the damage was inside of me.”
After pretending he wasn’t making lame excuses by citing his “anger” as the reason for his violently racist remarks, the guy who played Kramer said he spent years doing a “deep analysis,” trying to “figure out where all the anger was coming from,” which he determined was his insecurities as an artist, which he later said “fame magnified.”
Yeah, OK—or maybe he’s just racist.
“I’m not racist,” Richards maintained. “I have nothing against Black people. The man who told me I wasn’t funny had just said what I’d been saying to myself for a while. I felt put down. I wanted to put him down.”
For the record: Michael Richards called “the man” the n-word multiple times and implied that he should be lynched because that’s what happened to Black people “50 years ago.” (If you’re unfamiliar with the scandal, you can see it for yourself.) One doesn’t just come up with something like that on the fly because their anger got the best of them—they already had those words in their heart.

Richards can keep his apology.

It’s been days since P. Diddy released his widely criticized apology video in which he takes accountability for assaulting Cassie in a hotel hallway back in 2016. While many have weighed in on Diddy’s struggle apology, Cassie has remained mum. Until now.

Taking to her Instagram page, Cassie shared a statement in which she thanked everyone for supporting her following the release of the video, but stopped short of talking about Diddy himself or the apology. Writing about the situation at hand, Cassie made it a point to state that domestic violence is “THE issue” that many women face across the board and opened up about how it affected her own personal being saying, “It broke me down to someone I never thought I would become. With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always be recovering from my past.”

Offering some advice to anyone who finds themself in a similar situation as she was when she was terrorized by “Brother Love,” Cassie added, “I offer my hand to those that are still living in fear. Reach out to your people, don’t cut them off. No one should carry this weight alone. The healing journey is never ending, but this support means everything to me. Thank you. Love always, Cassie.”

Y’all just know Diddy’s somewhere wondering why his apology wasn’t met with the same love and support that Cassie’s statement was.
It shouldn’t take a genius to understand why P. Diddy’s video was met with such disdain as many remember that Cassie’s original lawsuit against him not only accused him of physical violence, but also forcing her to have intimate relationships with other men while he watched, amongst many other things. It was pretty disturbing stuff.
While Diddy remained defiant and maintained his innocence (even after immediately settling out of court), the release of the video of him kicking and dragging Cassie was the nail in the coffin for whatever was left of his reputation and even his career.
What do y’all think of Cassie’s statement? Let us know in the comments section below.

A few days ago the Kansas City Chief’s kicker, Harrison Butker made some heads turn when he loudly showed his MAGA colors and went on an anti-Biden and anti-LGBTQ rant during a graduation speech at Benedictine College.

Naturally the Far-Right conservatives and MAGA community praised the NFL player for the “courage” and “bravery” that he displayed in his prejudicial speech, but the NFL has issued a statement rebuking Butker’s statements and has distanced itself from his personal perspectives. According to People, the NFL has finally acknowledged Harrison Butker’s controversial takes on the LGBTQ and abortion rights (he’s pro-life) and stated they do not align with the values that the NFL strives to represent.
People reports:

“Harrison Butker gave a speech in his personal capacity,” Jonathan Beane, the NFL’s senior vice president and chief diversity and inclusion officer, tells PEOPLE in a written statement. “His views are not those of the NFL as an organization. The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger.”
During his speech, Butker opined on various “diabolical lies told to women,” and offered his take on abortion, in vitro fertilization (IVF) and surrogacy, as well as President Joe Biden. He also said Pride Month represented “deadly sins.”
Then, seeking out the men in the audience, the athlete advised them to “be unapologetic in your masculinity,” and to “fight against the cultural emasculation of men.”
Is no one going to tell Butker to “shut up and kick the ball” or something? Or does such sentiments only apply to Black athletes that criticize Donald Trump?
Former Kansas City Chiefs commissioner Justice Horn took issue with Butker’s words and took to X (Twitter) to remind everyone that Butker doesn’t represent their city and that Kansas City “has always been a place that welcomes, affirms, and embraces out LGBTQ+ community members.”

Even Flavor Flav took notice of Butker’s commencement speech at the Catholic liberal arts school and players like him should “stay in their lanes” when making such comments.

Once you’ve lost Flavor Flav, you’ve lost, period.
It should be interesting to see how his teammates react when NFL teams report to training camp this coming summer as Butker even quoted a Taylor Swift song in his divisive speech saying “As my teammate’s girlfriend says, ‘familiarity breeds contempt.” Taylor Swift is currently dating the Kansas Chiefs superstar tight end, Travis Kelce.
While we doubt the NFL will take further action as Butker’s social-political views are his own, we wonder if he’s alienated his teammates, coaches, and Chief fans with his words. Maybe they knew this is who he’s been this entire time and could care less.
What do y’all think of this situation? Should the NFL do more than just distance themselves from Harrison Butker’s commencement speech? Let us know in the comments section below.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard any new work from Chance The Rapper as it feels like ever since he took home all those Grammy awards in 2017 he fell back as if it was mission accomplished for him. But now the Chicagoan returns to the game and called upon the talents of one of the GOATS producers of the rap game to supply him with the heat to get to cookin,’

Linking up with DJ Premier for the visuals to “Together,” Chance The Rapper takes it back to his humble beginnings as he uses old footage of himself as a child and his family growing up to speak about the importance of the family unit as he speaks about his past throughout the song. This was pretty damn cool.

Back in the East, A$AP Ant keeps the A$AP Mob legacy going and in his clip for “Switch The Weather” the Harlemnite kicks it on the block by his lonesome where hs smokes some weed, spits his bars, and flexes some ice. Sometimes ain’t nothing better than a blunt to the head. Just sayin.’
Check out the rest of today’s drops including work from Ash B, Lady XO, and more.

While the Hip-Hop community is still divided on whether or not to support Gunna given that his current standing as a possible stoolpigeon is still up in the air, the ATLien recently dropped off his latest project, One of Wun to rave reviews and much fanfare regardless of his street status.

Looking to bank off the buzz he’s created for himself, Gunna drops off some new visuals to “Whatsapp (Wassam)” which showcases Gunna living his best life whether he’s dressed down for some photoshoots or making multi-million dollar deals in boardrooms, the man isn’t letting any hate slow down his progress in his post-prison life. We can’t be mad at that.

Back in Harlem, the artist formerly known as A$AP Ferg (it’s just Ferg now) takes it back to his hood and in his clip for “MDMX” the Harlem representative throws an apartment party where the name of the game is red cups or adult juice, booty shaking and iced out jewelry (mostly on his person).

Jordan Peele has a new psychological thriller on the way starring Marlon Wayans and has revealed its title and expected release date.
The wait for a new movie is over for those who are huge Jordan Peele fans. According to reports, the filmmaker’s Monkeypaw Productions and Universal Pictures announced the title of the new film last week – Him. It’s set to star Marlon Wayans, who plays a legendary quarterback who is taking on the task of training an up-and-coming star athlete, who will be portrayed by Tyriq Withers. Withers’ character will then train at an isolated compound used by Wayans’ character.

The movie also stars Julia Fox (Uncut Gems), Tim Heidecker of the comedy duo Tim & Eric, comedian Jim Jefferies, and rising Hip-Hop stars Guapdad 4000 and Grammy nominee Tierra Whack, who make their feature film debuts. Touted as a psychological horror film covering a “blood-chilling journey into the inner sanctum of fame, power and the pursuit of excellence at any cost,”, Him will be directed by Justin Tipping. The screenplay, which was lauded as one of the best unproduced screenplays in 2022, was written by Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie. In addition to Peele, Ian Cooper, Win Rosenfeld, and Jamal M. Watson will produce for Monkeypaw Productions. It is executive produced by David Kern and Monkeypaw’s Kate Oh.
Him’s release date in movie theaters will be Sept. 19, 2025. It was originally set for Christmas Day of this year but had to be taken off of the release calendar due to the months-long labor strikes in Hollywood. At that point, it had been called GOAT. This will be Peele’s fourth film after the award-winning Get Out, Us, and Nope. His production company recently released the Dev Patel-starred action thriller Monkey Man and is working on a horror game with renowned video game creator Hideo Kojima, which was announced last December at The Game Awards.

Over the years there have been numerous Batman cartoons that have come and gone. And though none of them could ever live up to what Batman: The Animated Series was in the ’90s, a new series might actually give the classic series a run for it’s money.

According to Deadline, Prime Video’s Batman: Caped Crusader is set to premier on the streaming network Aug. 1. Judging from the first picture stills provided, the animation style seems like it will be akin to that of the classic 1990s television series. A production of Warner Bros. Animation, Bad Robot Productions and 6th & Idaho, Batman: Caped Crusader was set to release on HBO Max before it was canceled due to budget concerns. Now that it’s on Prime Video, fans will get to see what J.J. Abrams and company have in store for us. The series is said to be set in the 1940s as Batman was introduced to the world in Detective Comics #27 in 1939. Hella clever.
Deadline reports:

The series comes from EPs J.J. Abrams, Matt Reeves and Bruce Timm. Based on DC characters, Along with Abrams, Reeves and Timm, Batman: Caped Crusader executive producers include Ed Brubaker, James Tucker, Daniel Pipski, Rachel Rusch Rich and Sam Register.
In the series, the corrupt outnumber the good as criminals run rampant and law-abiding citizens live in a constant state of fear in Gotham City. Forged in the fire of tragedy, wealthy socialite Bruce Wayne becomes something both more and less than human—the Batman. His one-man crusade for justice attracts unexpected allies within the GCPD and City Hall, but his heroic actions spawn deadly, unforeseen ramifications.
All that Wayne Tech stuff in the 1940s should be rather interesting. We can’t wait.
Check out some pics of the upcoming series, and let us know if you’re as excited as we are in the comments section below.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul publicly apologized for her comments regarding Black kids in the Bronx earlier in the week.
On Monday (May 6), New York Governor Kathy Hochul addressed the backlash she received for comments that she made about Black children in the Bronx during a panel discussion. Hochul was being interviewed by Washington Post columnist and MSNBC host Jonathan Capehart on stage during a discussion hosted by the Milken Institute in Los Angeles. In discussing the state’s “Empire AI” initiative that will provide supercomputer access in the Buffalo area, Hochul said “Right now, we have young Black kids growing up in the Bronx who don’t even know what the word ‘computer’ is,” adding, “They don’t know, they don’t know these things. I want the world opened up to all of them.”

The comment drew immediate backlash from local politicians. Assemblywoman Karines Reyes, who represents several neighborhoods in the Bronx, issued a statement in a post on X, formerly Twitter: “Deeply disturbed by @GovKathyHochul’s recent remarks and the underlying perception that she has of Black & brown children from the BX. Our children are bright, brilliant, extremely capable, and more than deserving of any opportunities that are extended to other kids. Do better.” She was joined by fellow Assemblywoman Amanda Septimo who issued a statement calling the governor’s remarks “deeply misinformed, and genuinely appalling.”

Hochul would apologize later that evening. “I misspoke and I regret it,” she said. In a statement released later, she elaborated further: “Of course Black children in the Bronx know what computers are – the problem is that they too often lack access to the technology needed to get on track to high-paying jobs in emerging industries like AI.” It’s not the first time that Hochul has made a verbal misstep. In February, Hochul hypothesized what would happen if Canada attacked the United States similar to how the Hamas militant organization attacked Israel on October 7, 2023. “If Canada someday ever attacked Buffalo, I’m sorry, my friends, there would be no Canada the next day,” she said at the time. Hochul would also quickly apologize for her “poor choice of words” the next day.

For the past few years Hit-Boy has collaborated with Hip-Hop legend Nas on numerous albums that turned out amazing, and while their run has come to an end, Hit-Boy is now focusing on giving his father, Big Hit, some shine in the music game.

In the black-and-white visuals to “Foreclosure,” Hit-Boy takes the back seat and lets his OG, Big Hit take center stage as he creeps in the bushes where he drops his bars while we see images of the neighborhood which we assume he resides in. It’s gotta be pretty cool to put your pops on once you’ve established yourself in the rap game.

Roc Marciano meanwhile takes the older heads way back to the 1990’s and in his clip to “BeBe’s Kids,” the New York rapper breathes new life into the classic Robin Harris creation as he gets into a cartoon adventure with some pretty badass kids. RIP Robin Harris. He was the truth.
