Sorry Hunger Games participants but it seems like the highly anticipated redo of the now infamous Fyre Festival will no longer be taking place this coming May.
Months after Billy McFarland announced that he was indeed going to hold a sequel to the abomination of a festival from 2017 that left whatever reputation Ja Rule had remaining in shambles, ABC News is reporting that McFarland is no longer going through with the festivities and has actually refunded ticket buyers their money without any word if Fyre Festival 2 will be happening at all.
While we’re sure that ticket holders are disappointed that they won’t be living it up in Mexico (at least it isn’t an island this time), we can’t help but feel some of them must have let out a sigh of relief as there was always that possibility that Fyre Festival 2025 could’ve gone just as left as it did in 2017 except with tacos this time.
ABC News reports:
A message sent to a ticket holder said, “The event has been postponed and a new date will be announced. We have issued you a refund. Once the new date is announced, at that time, you can repurchase if it works for your schedule.”
At the time, McFarland said a statement, “I’m sure many people think I’m crazy for doing this again. But I feel I’d be crazy not to do it again.”
“After years of reflection and now thoughtful planning, the new team and I have amazing plans for FYRE 2,” he added.
Like the initial Fyre Festival event, McFarland’s Fyre Fest 2 promised “an electrifying celebration of music, arts, cuisine, comedy, fashion, gaming, sports, and treasure hunting — all set in the stunning location of Isla Mujeres, Mexico,” according to the event’s website.
Honestly, it was probably for the best. McFarland just spent four years in prison for his first Fyre Festival f*ckery, so if he decided to pull the plug on the sequel it was probably because he felt it could land him back in the slammer. Just sayin’.
It definitely didn’t help that McFarland apparently didn’t have permission to even host the event on the Isla Mujeres (Island of Women) in Mexico.
Bernardo Cueto, tourism secretary of the State of Quintana Roo, where Isla Mujeres is located, told ABC News over a phone call that his agency would be the one giving permission for that kind of festival, but Fyre Fest 2 was not something he was informed about, nor was an event by that name happening in Playa del Carmen or Isla Mujeres.
Yeah, McFarland definitely wanted to avoid another possible investigation that could lead him right back into the bing and with $1,400 a ticket. He was going to raise some more eyebrows if things went left again.
What do y’all think about Fyre Festival 2 being canceled? Did attendees avert another disaster? Let us know in the comments section below.

While hardcore Rihanna fans continue to patiently wait for new music from the bombshell from Barbados, Riri decided to get the internet in a frenzy, but it had absolutely nothing to do with a new track or album announcement.
On Tuesday (April 15), Rihanna had the internet buzzing when she announced her new Savage x Fenty Bridal collection complete with a photoshoot, featuring herself styling in some of the pieces set to release. Man did she stun! Rocking pink lingerie and a wedding veil, Rihanna demonstrates just how seductive her latest collection can be for any bride to be on her wedding night if they share the same physical dimensions as the 37-year-old superstar.
Naturally, her followers absolutely loved the look and flooded her comments section with praise and, well, thirst. So we wouldn’t be surprised if this collection flies off the digital shelves even if they aren’t engaged as they’ll be looking to make a visual impact on their partners in the near future.
That being said, this begs the question, could Rihanna be hinting at wedding bells for herself and her baby daddy, A$AP Rocky? What’s taking that man so long to put a ring on it? Seriously. Rihanna’s a classic beauty and she stood by his side during his gun trial throughout the proceedings. Lock it down already, bro!
Check out Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty Bridal collection, and let us know your thoughts about the look and photoshoot in the comments section below.

The twists and turns continue with Diddy’s trial. He has plead not guilty to new charges and his defense may ask to postpone the start date of the trial.
As spotted on Deadline, the mogul was charged with one count of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and one count of transportation to engage in prostitution as part of a superseding indictment. On Monday, April 15, he appeared in a New York City courtroom and formally submitted a not guilty plea. In addition his defense argued that the prosecutor has been less than forthright with the disclosure of evidence. Hence they are considering requesting that the trial be postponed.
Diddy’s lawyers Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos say that the U.S. Attorney’s Office has not been sharing all the communications they have in their possession; specifically those from Diddy’s former employees. Furthermore they casted doubt on whether the prosecutors actually have the messages in question saying “it’s troubling to us.” As a result, Diddy’s defense team revealed that they might file for an adjournment of the case in hopes of delaying the trial another two weeks in order to sort out any issues with the evidence. After the court hearing Agnifilo told the press that they will not seek the adjournment if the prosecutors “get their act together.” Judge Arun Subramanian has given Diddy’s legal team 48 hours to file the adjournment if they are still interested in pursuing that request.
Diddy’s trial is set to commence May 5. The next hearing is scheduled for later this week.

Fans of Lil Nas X received some surprising news on Monday (April 14), as he shared a video on Instagram taken from a hospital bed. In the video, he revealed that he lost movement on the entirety of the right side of his face. “When I smile – this is me doing a full smile by the way,” Lil Nas X says while demonstrating the lack of movement on that side of his face, “It’s like, “Bro what the f— bro, I can’t even laugh right!!!”He burst into laughter at the situation. Later in the same video, he cracks another joke about the situation while doing an extreme close-up of his face. “We normal over here…we go crazy over here,” the “Old Town Road” rapper says before falling into laughter again, with text reading “I’m so cooked” overlaid on the video.Lil Nas X implored his followers to not be dismayed by the news with subsequent Instagram Stories. In one, he wrote “Guys I am OK!! Stop being sad for me!! Shake ur ass for me instead!!” That was followed by another story in which he shared a selfie with the caption “Imma look funny for a lil bit but that’s it,” topped off with crying laughing emojis.Fans have speculated that Lil Nas X could be dealing with Bell’s Palsy, a nerve condition that is triggered by an infection or by stress, which causes paralysis to parts of the face. Other stars such as Cardi B and Justin Bieber have experienced the same condition. Prior to his hospitalization, he was doing promotion for his upcoming EP Days Before Dreamboy, which will be followed by his first full-length album since his 2021 debut, Montero. Other celebrities took time out to send him well-wishes. “Get well baby,” wrote actress Taraji P. Henson. “Sometimes your body tells you to sit down somewhere. Rest up,” wrote comedian Wanda Sykes.

Earlier this month, the Trump administration admitted in court that they accidentally deported a man from Maryland, Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, to a notorious gang prison in El Salvador. And even though the Supreme Court ordered the administration to bring Garcia back in a rare 9-0 decision, Trump is openly defying their decision with the help of El Salvador President, Nayib Bukele.
On Monday (April 14), President Bukele was welcomed to the White House by Donald Trump. When asked by reporters whether or not he’d return the wrongly deported Garcia back to the United States where his family awaits, Bukele shot down any hopes of righting the Trump administration’s wrong by saying, “How can I smuggle a terrorist into the United States? Of course, I’m not going to do it. The question is preposterous.”
For the record, Garcia was convicted of no crime and was wrongfully accused of being a member of MS-13 by ICE when he was detained and deported last month. But with the Trump administration paying El Salvador $6 million annually to house deported immigrants in their notorious prison, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that Bukele will provide cover for Trump who’s refusing to comply with the Supreme Court’s order to “facilitate” the return of Garcia.
Because of this administration’s reluctance to even attempt to persuade Bukele to return Garcia, rumors have been circulating around social media that Garcia has been killed and both parties are doing what they can to prevent that news from coming out as the detainment, deportation and death of an innocent man would be a bad look for everyone involved in the situation.
According to Crooks and Liars, a Trump official pushed back on the claim, but wouldn’t provide any evidence to support the claim.
Per Crooks and Liars:
Michael Kozak, a senior official in the State Department’s Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs, said yesterday that Garcia is “alive” but will remain at the notorious mega-torture prison.
Donald once again said in the Oval Office meeting that he was open to sending American citizens convicted of violent crimes to Bukele’s prison in El Salvador.
Trump had a similar response when Bukele first offered to jail convicted American criminals in February. “I’m all for it,” Trump said, adding that his attorney general was studying whether the idea was legally feasible. “If it’s a homegrown criminal, I have no problem, no,” he said, adding: “I’m talking about violent people. I’m talking about really bad people.”
If Trump can send an innocent man with no due process to a prison in another country and claim the U.S. no longer has any jurisdiction to facilitate their return and is now saying he wants to send “homegrown” U.S. citizens there too, we’re officially entering the fascist era in American history.
Trump even encouraged Bukele to build five more prisons to house the “homegrown” criminals he plans on sending to El Salvador throughout the next few years. Y’all already know which marginalized groups of people this administration will be targeting for deportation regardless of citizen status.
Be afraid because if Trump is blatantly thumbing his nose at the Supreme Court, what’s left to stop him from carrying out his obvious fascist agenda?
What do y’all think about Trump and Bukele’s refusal to return an innocent man back to the United States? Let us know in the comments section below.

The first Monday in May is almost upon us, which means we’ll soon be tuned into the Metropolitan Museum of Art steps for the 2025 Met Gala. This year’s co-hosts- Colman Domingo, A$AP Rocky, Lewis Hamilton, and Pharrell Williams- cover Vogue’s May issue. Four men, all fashion juggernauts, brought their unique dapper style to the iconic glossy.
Vogue’s May Issue is just a taste of what we can expect on May 5. The theme is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” with a focus on Black Dandyism.

All eyes will be on one of the most fashionable men in the world, Colman Domingo, on the Met Gala grand stage. As they should. According to Vogue, the respected actor “met with Monica L. Miller, guest curator of the Costume Institute’s “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” exhibition, to start scouting references.”
“I am a Black man who loves style, loves tailoring, and it struck me that I had never seen images like that—of myself, saying, I belong in these clothes,” he says. “I always had to look for a vision outside of myself,” he said.
Harlem native A$AP Rocky took it back to his hometown for his cover shoot. Before today’s release, images of the fashionable hip-hop father walking dalmations in the street giving A$AP Deville. But for the rapstar and father of Rihanna’s children, “That’s regular for us, bro,” he said in his interview. “I’m from Harlem, we showed y’all how to do this.”
Source: Tyler Mitchell / for Vogue
A$AP is looking forward to seeing “everybody celebrate Black excellence,” Rocky says. “When people celebrate a different culture or race,” he adds, “sometimes it’s done with intent, sometimes with ulterior motives.” The exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” strikes Rocky as “genuine…and very, very, very.…”
Lewis Hamilton was “blown away” when he heard the theme for this year’s Met Gala. The A1 racer broke down what Black Dandyism means to him in an as told to cover story. “What hit home hardest is how far back it goes, and that there are so many different ways to present as a man; you don’t have to be traditionally masculine,” he explained. “And Black men have always had to be more excellent than our white counterparts. I’ve seen that with my father and with me—we needed to be overachievers. That’s why this theme is just so important to me.”
Ultimately, he hopes this year’s dress code sparks conversation and reconfirms the connection between fashion and self-expression, and how deep it runs in Black culture.”
Pharrell’s unique illustrated cover is as artistic as he it. The Louis Vuitton’s creative director of menswear revealed his take on Dandyism. “I see dandyism as a set of rules and standards,” he says, “that reflect a certain sophistication and well-traveled taste. For Black people to hit that mark or exceed it, and be consistent with it, is a matter of pride. And consistency garners respect.”
Catch all the interviews, here.

Golf may not be thee most popular sport in the culture, but regardless the good folks over at Jordan Brand are doing what they can to help golfers take their game to the next level. The house that Air Jordan built has introduced their latest footwear tech to give players a new advantage out on the green whenever swinging that 9-iron.

On Monday (April 14) Nike unveiled their Jordan Brand Air Rev silhouette, which was made specifically for the golfers of the world. It boasts their innovative Flight Lock technology, which promises to help players take their game to another level. Will it turn the average man into Happy Gilmore overnight? Of course not, but if you’re already familiar with the sport and know your way around the Front Nine, you may appreciate what Nike and Jordan Brand have to offer next time you hop out that golf cart and get things popping.
Per Nike:
Designed to promote efficiency and consistency for a full day on the course, the Air Rev’s Flight Lock technology debuts a moveable Air Zoom unit that pairs with an interchangeable Formula23 foam insert, dial lacing system and leno weave strap to help golfers go the distance like never before.
The Air Zoom unit is intended to be inserted into a pouch in the sidewall of the golfer’s trail (back) foot, providing appropriate pressure with every swing, while the Formula23 foam is to be used on the lead (front) foot, delivering cushioned stability. This customizable system allows both left- and right-handed golfers to use the same model of shoe, swapping the Air Zoom unit and Formula23 foam to meet their needs.
Sounds like a helluva unit, but unfortunately we don’t know much about golfing so we may never find out how amazing these joints are to wear on the golf course.
Still, the NBA GOAT is excited about his brand’s latest product, and if he’s excited, his fellow golf buddies should be too.
“The future of golf isn’t tied to its past,” says Michael Jordan. “For the next generation, it’s bolder and more modern. Jordan Brand Golf blends performance, innovation and iconic style, building a future where the players, not the past, define what’s next.”
Might have to cop a pair just to walk around a park and see what the fuss is all about.
Will you be copping the Jordan Air Rev on May 14 to help you up your game next time you hit the golf course? Maybe even miniature golfing? Let us know in the comments section below.

Over the weekend, he linked up with rising Bay Area star LaRussell for a live show where they performed Jones’ 2004 hit “Still Tippin.” As the crowd roared and chanted the unforgettable “281-330-8004,” Mike grabbed the mic and confirmed what fans had long speculated: “And I still got that number today / 20 years in this b*tch, LaRussell, I don’t play!”
“Still Tippin,” the breakout single from “Who Is Mike Jones?“, catapulted Jones into national fame alongside fellow Houston rap icons Paul Wall and Slim Thug. Which dropped in November 2004, the track was a Southern anthem that brought chopped and screwed culture into the mainstream. The chopped and screwed hook and slow-rolling beat became an INSTANT classic, earning the track platinum status and solidifying its place in Hip-Hop history.
Following the success of his debut album, Jones released The American Dream EP in 2007 and his second studio album, The Voice, in 2009, featuring tracks like “Cuddy Buddy” and “Next to You.” Though his stardom has faded, his influence on Southern Hip-Hop remains strong. While not extensive, the Texas rappers’ discography captures the raw energy of Houston’s rap scene in the 2000s. Whether he’s dropping new music or proving he still owns the most famous number in rap, Mike Jones continues to hold a respected place in Hip-Hop culture.

Donald Trump is arguably the most hated man in the world right now (Elon Musk is a close second), and though he has the support of some artists in the Hip-Hop community, Lizzo has just let it be known that she isn’t one of them.
On Saturday night (April 12), Lizzo was the musical guest star on Saturday Night Live and during her performance she threw a little shade at the tariff obsessed dictator and for that we love her that much more. During her musical set she performed “Love In Real Life” and “Still Bad” in a crop top with one simple word: “TARIFFIED,” a clever play on the word that’s been the topic of discussion for the past few weeks and how Americans (and the world) have been feeling in general ever since Trump took office. The shirt is an obvious jab at Donald Trump and his administration’s continuous assault on democracy and everything decent about America.
Though Trump’s back-and-forth decisions on his unnecessary tariffs on China and islands of penguins is being called “market manipulation” and has spurred allegations of insider trading by his inner circle, expect more of the same in the coming future as the 90-day pause on tariffs leaves much room and time for more chaotic “negotiation” methods on Trump’s behalf.
In other words, be “tariffied” of what’s to come as Donald Trump continues to do what he can to tank the American economy to enrich his millionaire and billionaire buddies.
Check out Lizzo perform in her clever shirt and let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
