Tyler, the Creator, used his 2024 Coachella headlining set to get a few things off his chest.
Jerrod Carmichael had the internet buzzing last month when a clip from his new Max series, the Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show, went viral.
In the clip, Carmichael revisits the moment he shared his feelings for Tyler, the Creator, which led to an awkward moment between the two friends, with the rapper responding to the comedian by turning him down and calling him a “stupid bitch.”

During their sit-down, Carmichael reveals the moment created “a distance” between himself and the rapper. Tyler permanently put Carmichael in the friend zone, calling him a “true brother” and saying he’s like “family.”

During his headlining set at Coachella, Tyler, the Creator broke his silence on the matter.
“I’m guessing y’all got TikTok and probably seen my homie try to fuck me on camera,” he said. “I looked terrible. I told the n—a no, and he said, what about if we filmed it? Terrible.”
That wasn’t the only thing Tyler, the Creator, touched on during his set. He also revealed to the crowd his past hate for A$AP Rocky and Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino, both of whom he shared the stage with during his electrifying performance.
Per Variety:
Childish Gambino (a.k.a. Donald Glover) was the night’s first guest, singing the hook on “Running Out of Time.” “You know what’s sick?” said Tyler after Gambino left the stage. “I used to hate that n—a. Seriously. I don’t know why, I gotta go to therapy to figure it out, but this n—a put this song called ‘Urn’ out. It was so undeniable n—a, I was at conflict with myself, like fuck, how could a n—a I hate so much make something so good?”
He shared that he felt a similar way about ASAP Rocky, who joined him for “Potato Salad” and “Who Dat Boy.” “You know what’s crazy? I used to hate that n—a too,” he said. “OK we thought we had beef. it was the n—s around us and then me and Rock was like, we got love and now we friends.” Elsewhere, Charlie Wilson joined Tyler at a piano for “Earfquake,” while Kali Uchis made a brief cameo to sing her part on “See You Again.” He also took an opportunity to take a trip down memory lane, running through a medley of verses from tracks like “She,” “Tron Cat,” “Yonkers” and “Tamale.”

We can always count on Tyler, the Creator to give us a stellar performance.

As reported by GQ magazine the songwriter has been given the greenlight by Pharrell Williams to design a forthcoming drop. This week the Paris, France based brand unveiled his vision and it is clear his fingerprints are all over these items. Included in the collection are ready to wear clothing including t-shirts, button-ups, jackets, knitted sweaters, sets, accessories and more. As expected the capsule also includes a variety of leather pieces ranging from trunks, weekend bags and of course golf bags.

In an exclusive statement via email to Women’s Wear Daily Pharrell Williams explained why the collaboration made so sense. “Tyler has been my close friend and collaborator for years. I admire his eye and we’ve always connected on music, fashion and jewelry. He doesn’t shy away from doing something interesting and different” he said. “Tyler already had a strong relationship with the maison when Virgil was here, and this spring collection intentionally builds on this and strengthens our LVers community of incredible minds and artists who understand our vision and appreciate the history and Virgil’s impact like Tyler does,” he added.

This is not the first time Tyler, The Creator has worked with Louis Vuitton. Back in 2022 scored the runway fashion show for their fall collection; the last one designed by the late great Virgil Abloh. The Tyler, The Creator Louis Vuitton capsule collection will be available globally on March 27.

The Coachella 2024 lineup is here, and it’s stacked.
The official Coachella 2024 lineup is here, and this year’s headliners will include meanie Doja Cat, hater of top rapper lists Tyler, the creator, and Lana Del Rey.

The ridiculously expensive music festival that sees music fans, rich folks, and influencers flock to the Coachella Valley will take place over two weekends, April 12 to April 14 and April 19 to April 21.

Del Rey will headline two Fridays, Tyler will bring his unique energy on Saturdays, and Doja will shut it all down on Sundays.
Coachella 2024 attendees will also see No Doubt reunite. It will mark the first time the “Spiderwebs” band has taken the stage together in almost ten years.
Other big names on the incredibly stacked lineup include Hip-Hop’s new favorite booty shaker Ice Spice, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, J Balvin, Peso Pluma, Jhené Aiko, Jon Batiste, Skepta, Grimes, Victoria Monet, Tinashe, Blxst and more.
For those who don’t have the coins to be in the desert getting their “influency” flicks off, don’t worry because YouTube will once again be the official live stream partner of the musical festival.
Fans head to the official Coachella page to catch live streams of the performances and get exclusive backstage access without worrying about desert dust getting all in their mouths and eyes.
Like it always does, the entire festival will take place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, and ticket presale begins on January 19; good luck if you are attempting to make it out to California.

Season 2 of the Interval Presents podcast Rap Radar kicks off Thursday with guest Tyler, The Creator.
In a preview snippet shared exclusively with Billboard, the Call Me If You Get Lost rapper chopped it up with co-hosts Elliott Wilson and Brian ‘B.Dot’ Miller, doubling down on his previously professed love for NBA YoungBoy. “He’s such a sweetheart,” Tyler begins, before switching gears and sharing that the “WUSYANAME” collaborators went out for ice cream and vintage car shopping.

While in the past, Tyler hadn’t divulged how the collaboration actually came to be, he shares the brief but sweet backstory with Wilson and Miller.

During the sit down, Tyler explains that he sent YoungBoy the initial song idea and received a verse back within one day. “When I made [‘WUSYANAME’], I just knew I wanted that Louisiana drawl, tone, accent over that loop,” he recounts. “I asked him like, ‘Yo, I kind of got this idea. Want to do this?’ Not only did he deliver for me and sounded great, he asked me ‘Is this OK? Is it good?’”

Tyler was impressed with YoungBoy’s focus, sharing that many rappers “just punch in and can’t even stay on f—ing topic of a song. He not only stayed on topic, he just sounded so great.”

The Call Me If You Get Lost collaboration took many fans off-guard, considering their vastly different sounds and images, something Tyler said he found funny. “With my musical knowledge and how much I love it, it’s not that shocking,” he says. “But at surface level, I guess people wouldn’t expect someone like me to even want to associate with a YoungBoy. But I love that s–t. He’s a sweetheart, man.”

“WUSYANAME” debuted at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking the highest charting cut from the album. It also became a top 10 record on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, peaking at No. 6.
