Tina Knowles is fiercely defending her daughter Beyoncé after the pop superstar’s NFL Halftime Show performance on Christmas Day.
On Friday (Dec. 27), the proud mother took to social media to respond to the criticism surrounding Queen Bey’s stunning performance at the Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans game at NRG Stadium. The 12-minute set, now available for streaming on Netflix, had generated some backlash, prompting Knowles to speak out in her daughter’s defense.
Knowles began by reposting a fan’s message on Instagram that called out those who had negative things to say about the performance.“Irrespective of whether you like Beyoncé’s music or not, it is PROOF and motivation that no matter how undeniably talented you are, people will always, ALWAYS, always have some negative ish to say,” the fan’s comment read.
In her caption, Knowles agreed with the fan, writing, “My sentiments exactly! It is mind-boggling to me that you would take your precious Christmas day and watch a performance of someone you hate and you don’t think has talent so that you can go talk ish about it later.”

She continued, “Obviously you are so obsessed with them , addicted to them , and secretly admire them , wish you could be them, that you cannot help but to watch and critique and comment and say dumb ridiculous stuff that makes you look like a joke !! So go to another channel when it’s halftime watch goofy cartoons or Bozo the clown or something you can relate to and see yourself in. Said with love.”
Knowles also reflected on her daughter’s strength, adding, “I have learned so much from her warrior spirit, of when they go low I work harder ‘No weapon formed against me shall prosper’ one ,two , three waiting for the fake bots to come’.”
She followed up with several posts celebrating the positive reactions to Bey’s performance, including a comment from Bun B, who praised the superstar’s career: “I think quietly, this entire time we’ve watched her rise. She’s probably the single most intentional performer, musician and entertainer in our culture. Beyoncé knows exactly who she is, and she understands that when she does something, things change,” the rapper said.
The Houston-born superstar’s halftime show featured songs from her latest album Cowboy Carter, a country-infused project that topped the Billboard 200 for two weeks. The performance included collaborations with Shaboozey, Post Malone, Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer and others, showcasing tracks like “16 Carriages” to “Texas Hold ‘Em,” “Levii’s Jeans” and “Jolene.” Beyoncé’s 12-year-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter also joined her on stage as a dancer, just as she did on the Renaissance World Tour.
Following the performance, Beyoncé teased a new project set for release in 2025. In a cryptic post on social media, she shared a video of herself riding a majestic white horse while waving an American flag. The clip ended with a black screen featuring the message: “1.14.25.” She simply captioned the post with, “Look at that horse.”
Cynthia Erivo is changing Wicked for good, from her performance as Elphaba to the original song she helped write for the second movie.
While serving as a guest on the latest episode of Variety‘s Awards Circuit podcast posted Thursday (Dec. 26), the 37-year-old singer-actress revealed that she worked with composer Stephen Schwartz on crafting an original track sung by her character in the upcoming sequel to November’s Wicked Part 1. “I don’t know if you’re ready for it,” she began.
“I mean, I love the song and I remember when we filmed it, the cast and crew were crying,” she continued. “I don’t know if that’s just because they were emotional that day or that’s what the song does.”
“I feel like the song is very, very special,” Erivo added. “I have a feeling that even the title will move you.”

The Pinocchio star didn’t reveal any further details about the track, which will seemingly appear on the soundtrack for the November 2025-slated Wicked: For Good alongside the film cast’s versions of Schwartz’s original songbook for the Wicked Broadway musical. The soundtrack for the first film recently opened at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 — the highest ever debut for a big-screen adaptation of a stage musical on the chart.
Schwartz, however, previously revealed that he and director Jon M. Chu had worked to add two new songs to the Wicked soundtrack, both of which fans will hear for the first time in Part 2. “The storytelling required it, and therefore they were created,” he told The Messenger in early December. “The intention was that they were organic and not imposed on the movie.”
The Variety podcast arrived on the same day the Wicked cast — which also includes Ariana Grande, Jeff Goldblum, Jonathan Bailey and Michelle Yeoh — announced that Part 1 will become available to stream at home Dec. 31. The digital release will include extended content and deleted scenes previously not included in the nearly three-hour film, including a hilarious snippet of Glinda giving Elphaba thorough instructions on how to toss her hair and “talk with your eyebrows.”
“It’s time to relive the experience together,” Erivo says in a clip posted to Wicked‘s socials Dec. 26. “Sing your heart out in the comfort of your home. There is nowhere like home to watch Wicked.”

Beyoncé‘s holiday gifts to fans didn’t end with her stunning halftime show performance at the Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans game on Christmas Day. According to a teaser posted by the superstar shortly after she exited the field, she still has a lot more in store.
In a cinematic clip shared to Bey’s socials Wednesday (Dec. 25), the 32-time Grammy winner straddles a white stallion while swinging a large American flag in slow motion over her head, her long blonde hair blowing in the wind as a Western trumpet theme plays over the beat of an offscreen stampede of stomping hooves. As she stares into the camera, the video suddenly cuts to a message reading, “1.14.25.”
The clip didn’t reveal any further information as to what Bey is hinting at, nor did her caption. “Look at that horse,” she simply wrote.

Even so, fans are freaking out over what the teaser could mean, with many of them convinced that the “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer is gearing up to embark on a tour in 2025. Those theories only intensified after Live Nation — one of the world’s biggest touring companies, which backed Bey’s most recent trek, the Renaissance World Tour — reposted the musician’s teasers on its own socials.
“THE COWBOY CARTER WORLD TOUR IS COMING?!?!?!?!?!?” one person commented under Bey’s video on X, while another fan wrote, “LIVE NATION POSTED IT IT’S LITERALLY A TOUR OMFG😭😭😭😭”
Other fans, however, aren’t sure one way or another. “TOUR? ACT III? VISUALS? I NEED ANSWERS NOW,” tweeted one anxious Beyhiver, suggesting that Jan. 14, 2025, could just as well yield a new album announcement or news about Bey’s unreleased visuals for Renaissance, Cowboy Carter or both.
Billboard has reached out to reps for Beyoncé and Live Nation for comment.
The Ivy Park founder’s teaser comes just after she performed at NRG Stadium in her home city of Houston, giving multiple songs from her Billboard 200-topping album Cowboy Carter their long-awaited live debuts a full nine months after she dropped the album in March. Shaboozey, Post Malone, Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy and Reyna Roberts all joined her on the field to help sing their respective collaborations from the LP — including “Sweet Honey Buckiin,’” “Levii’s Jeans” and “Blackbiird” — as did Bey’s oldest daughter, Blue Ivy, for a few dance numbers.
Bey hasn’t toured since her run in support of 2022’s Renaissance wrapped up in the fall of 2023. The five-month trek grossed $579.8 million and sold 2.8 million tickets, closing the year as Billboard Boxscore’s top-grossing tour.

Chappell Roan is offering a playful apology after criticizing a past holiday-themed episode of Glee.
On Monday (Dec. 23), the 26-year-old pop star shared her thoughts on the musical comedy’s season 3 episode “Extraordinary Merry Christmas” in a series of posts on an Instagram account run by Roan and her creative director, Ramisha Sattar.
“This is the worst episode of Glee I’ve ever seen,” Roan said, holding back a laugh while the 2011 episode played in the background. “I’m turning it off. I hate it,” she added, hitting pause on the remote. “Next.”

Shortly after, Roan returned with another video, this time sitting in front of a brightly lit Christmas tree. In the playful clip, she jokingly apologized to Glee fans while someone off-camera pointed a pair of sharp scissors at her.

“This is my apology video for the Gleeks that I offended. I am so sorry,” Roan began. “I love every episode of Glee, and I love Kurt and Blaine,” the singer-songwriter added, referencing Chris Colfer and Darren Criss’ characters on the Fox series.
This isn’t the first time Roan has shared her thoughts on Glee, which aired from 2009 to 2015. In fan-captured video from a live performance earlier this year, the Grammy-nominated artist revealed she had recently started watching the show.
“I just started watching Glee. I’m on season 2,” Roan told the audience. “It took me like three full times to try to watch Glee, ’cause I was like, ‘This is stupid as f—.’ And then I was like, ‘Lean into it.’”
Meanwhile, Roan is closing out 2024 at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Top New Artists chart, marking a year of breakout success on both the Billboard 200 albums chart and the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart. Her debut full-length album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in August. On Tuesday (Dec. 24), the 43-year-old superstar shared a new 30-second teaser for her upcoming performance, which will air during the Christmas Day NFL doubleheader on Netflix.
In the clip, Beyoncé — dressed in a long shawl, a sparkly top, a large hat and black sunglasses — sits on a football field strumming a banjo as her hit song “Texas Hold ‘Em” plays. After a few moments, she stops playing, pulls down her sunglasses, and the camera zooms in on her face as a buffering wheel spins on screen — a playful nod to the glitches experienced during Netflix’s mid-November Mike Tyson-Jake Paul boxing match. Beyoncé giggles as the video resumes and ends with her giving the camera a wink.

Alongside the teaser, Beyoncé wrote on Instagram: “I’m sending you big joy and love on this Cowboy Christmas Eve. I’ll see y’all tomorrow, in my city HTX.”
Netflix also shared the teaser on X (formerly Twitter), writing: “LOADING…BEYONCÉ. NFL Halftime Show – Ravens vs. Texans. Kickoff at 4:30 PM ET. Tomorrow on Netflix. #NFLonNetflix.”

Additionally, pop group Pentatonix sings the national anthem before the Ravens vs. Texans game, while Grammy Award-winning recording artist Beyoncé performs during the game’s halftime show.
While she’s not scheduled to perform, it’s likely that Taylor Swift could make an appearance at the Chiefs vs. Steelers game since she’s dating star tight end Travis Kelce.
