Rankings for the Top TV Songs chart are based on song and show data provided by Tunefind and ranked using a formula blending that data with sales and streaming information tracked by Luminate during the corresponding period of January 2024.
“Levitating,” a No. 2 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 for Dua Lipa in 2021 and the No. 1 song on the year-end version of the chart that year, appeared in the sixth episode of the Disney+ series’ first season. It premiered on Dec. 19, 2023, and the episode featuring “Levitating” aired Jan. 16.
Trending on Billboard
In January 2024, “Levitating” earned 18.9 million official on-demand U.S. streams and 3,000 downloads, according to Luminate.
“Levitating” reigns over Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man,” which appears at No. 2 after being heard in Reacher, Amazon Prime Video’s action series. “Simple Man” appeared in the eighth episode of the show’s second season; it premiered Jan. 19.
“Simple Man” earned 12.4 million streams and racked up 3,000 downloads in January 2024. Its 1,000-download week in the wake of the episode’s release allowed the song to return to Billboard’s Rock Digital Song Sales chart dated Feb. 3 at No. 7.
It’s one of three entries on the latest Top TV Songs list from Reacher. Soul Coughing’s “Super Bon Bon” ranks at No. 4 (638,000 streams, 3,000 downloads) after appearing in episode seven, while Jefferson Airplane’s “White Rabbit” is No. 10 (3.4 million streams, 2,000 downloads) after, like “Simple Man,” being heard in episode eight.
A flurry of songs from True Detective also make the chart after the HBO series’ fourth season premiere, paced by Billie Eilish’s “Bury a Friend” at No. 5, thanks to 4.8 million streams and 2,000 downloads.

The special will follow Franklin and how he approaches making new friends since his dad has a military job and his family moves often. In a clip shared exclusively with Billboard, Franklin teaches Charlie Brown about his favorite artists. “My favorites are Stevie Wonder, Little Richard and, of course, the Godfather of Soul, James Brown,” Franklin tells Charlie, before jokingly asking him if he’s related to the icon given their shared last name.
“Here’s what I’m into lately,” Franklin continues, before putting a John Coltrane vinyl on the record player. “Listen closely, Charlie Brown. Jazz has harmonies that stay consistent, but pay attention. It has other parts that are always being improvised.”
Charlie Brown quickly gets into the groove, as the duo end up dancing together. Franklin’s inclusion in the Peanuts squad is historic and one to be celebrated, as he was the first Black Peanuts character to be introduced in the comics in 1968. That year, following Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination, the series’ creator Charles M. Schulz received a letter from schoolteacher Harriet Glickman expressing concern about the lack of diversity in the Peanuts comic strip. Soon after, Schulz created Franklin.
In addition to the special, out on Apple TV+ starting on Feb. 16, Apple Music will be releasing on the same day a full collection of Franklin’s favorite songs. Snoopy Presents: Franklin’s Record Collection features tracks from Chuck Berry and Ben E. King to Bill Withers, Nina Simone, Sam Cooke and beyond.

Start warming up your voice with a quick “Do-Re-Mi,” because this week’s epsiode of RuPaul’s Drag Race is bound to be one of your “Favorite Things” — a Rusical challenge!
In an exclusive first look shared with Billboard on Thursday (Feb. 15), the queens of season 16 are gearing up to perform in their very own parody show, The Sound of Rusic. Based around the 1959 Rogers & Hammerstein musical (and its iconic 1964 film adaptation starring Julie Andrews), the annual Rusical immediately begins stirring up tensions between the queens in the new clip.
Tasked by RuPaul to cast themselves in the production, Plasma and Morphine Love Dion both reveal to the audience that they intend to play the lead role of Mariah. “It’s, like, the reason the show has a heartbeat,” Plasma says in her confessional. Morphine quickly jumps in to add that she’s not giving up the part without a fight: “I’m just tired of being safe, so I know from the get-go, ‘B–ch, I need a leading role.’”

But before we get to see their inevitable confrontation over the lead role, two other queens — Q and Megami — begin squabbling over the part of the “Baroness Braun,” described by Xunami Muse as the show’s villain. As both queens refuse to back down from their first choice, Plane Jane finally breaks the tension by calling for a high-stakes game of rock, paper, scissors for the role. In one round, Q covers Megami’s rock with her paper, earning the nefarious part for herself.
Speaking to Billboard last year, Drag Race executive producer Tom Campbell said that the beloved challenge format was originally intended to be “a one and done challenge” for the queens of season 6, before the producers recognized how fruitful an annual Rusical could be. “This challenge, and Drag Race itself, is like a healthy tree that grew through a crack in the sidewalk — it doesn’t make sense, it doesn’t fit the algorithm, but it touches people’s hearts and and that’s what’s important.”
Episode seven of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 16 premieres Friday, Feb. 16 at 8 p.m. ET on MTV. Watch the exclusive teaser clip above.

Eminem coined the term “Stan” with his 2000 hit in a pre-cursor to what the evolution of superfan culture would look like in the social media era decades later. Now, Slim Shady is set to co-produce a Stans documentary, diving deeper into the multilayered relationship between artists and their audience, with fans having more access than ever to their heroes.

According to Variety, Stans will arrive later this year, with the 15-time Grammy winner involved via his Shady Films, along with DIGA Studios and Hill District Media.
Steven Leckart has reportedly been tapped as the film’s director, according to Variety. A synopsis says that the doc will be a “revealing, edgy and disarmingly personal journey into the world of superfandom, told through the lens of one of the world’s most iconic and enduring artists, Eminem, and the fans that worship him.”
Trending on Billboard
Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg said in a statement: “Stans will be the opportunity for us to to turn the camera around and ask the audience about being fans — and in some cases, fanatics. This is a study of the relationship between fanbase and artist through the lens of one of Eminem’s most fascinating songs and one of the world’s most important entertainers.”
While Stans is reported to be a working title, the documentary will initially be distributed by MTV/Paramount.
“Paul Rosenberg and I have known each other since my days on MTV’s TRL, a show that was driven by the power of fandom, bringing artists and their fans together. So when he told me about the idea for this film, it felt like we had come full circle,” DIGA CEO Tony DiSanto added. “Stans will explore the complex relationship between fame and super fandom, told through the lens of one of the world’s most Iconic artists, Eminem, his music, and, especially, his most extreme fans.”
Eminem’s “Stan” was included on the Detroit rap icon’s The Marshall Mathers LP in 2000. Produced by The 45 King, the multiplatinum track reached a peak of No. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 in December 2000. The Oxford English Dictionary added the term “Stan” to its pages in 2017.
