This past weekend the October ritual known as Comic Con in New York City has come and gone and while comic book heads, fanboys and cosplay fanatics got their fill of entertainment related goodness, we were also left with a bevy of trailers for movies, shows and video games that will be releasing in the near future.

While many of the trailers we were treated to were projects we were already familiar with, fans did appreciate surprise announcements such as the brand new series for Dragonball Z dubbed DAIMA, a better look at the new Godzilla series, Monarch, and our first look at some new Spider-Man suits for Playstation’s highly anticipated Spider-Man 2 video game set to release this Friday (October 20).

With all that being said, check out the trailers that had comic book fans and social media buzzing below and let us know what you’re looking forward to the most in the comments section below.
DRAGON BALL DAIMA

Five years after the highly popular Dragon Ball Super went off the air, fans of the decades old Japanese cartoon series were thrilled to learn that a brand new series starring your favorite Super Saiyans would be returning in 2024 and judging from the trailer it’s going to be quite the interesting ride as Goku and company will be turning into children?! Aw man, what did the Dragon Ball gang get themselves into this time?
MONARCH: LEGACY OF MONSTERS

What does a secret society known as Monarch have in connection to Godzillas and the titans of old? We have no idea but this new Apple+ series promises to answer those questions and we can’t wait to see how this one unfolds. We just hope to get lots of monster action when it’s all said and done and judging from the new trailer, we will.

THE WALKING DEAD: DARYL DIXON (THE BOOK OF CAROL) SEASON 2 TRAILER
[embedded content]
The Walking Dead might not be enjoying the popularity it has in years past, but that isn’t stopping AMC from keeping the spinoff series coming. This time around fan favorite character Carol will be getting burn as she ventures through the land of the dead and does what she can to survive in a world where the term “zombie” doesn’t even exist. Ain’t that some sh*t?
THE WALKING DEAD: THE ONES WHO LIVE

Rick Grimes returns and it looks like he’s going to be having the reunion we’ve all been waiting for as he and Michonne seem destined to once again be the power couple of The Walking Dead universe. After what happened with Papoose and Remy Ma, we need this!!
FEAR THE WALKING DEAD

The first spinoff show from The Walking Dead is finally coming to an end, but what does that mean for its main characters? We don’t know but it should be interesting to see how it all wraps after 8 years of primetime drama and goriness.

MARVEL’S WEREWOLF BY NIGHT IN COLOR
[embedded content]
Marvel Studio’s Werewolf By Night didn’t make much noise when it hit Disney+ last year, but now that they’ve decided to make the black-and-white series into a full-on colorful affair, maybe more people will tune in and get to talking. Probably not, though.

What happens when you give a former a slave a badge and a gun and tell him he’s the law in a town where the Ku Klux Klan run rampant and Black people are still viewed as less than by their white counterparts? You get history.

Paramount+ released their first trailer for their upcoming series Lawmen: Bass Reeves, which is based on the story of the titular character who was appointed to become the first Black U.S. Marshall in Mississippi in the late 1800’s. Starring David Oyelowo as Reeves, the trailer showcases all the racism and hardships you’d expect to see Black people experience in that time period. Heck, the KKK didn’t even have the fancy pointed hoodies yet and were still out there harassing and threatening Black people with farming equipment and torches.

According to Deadline, the series is the first of what could be many which will explore the stories of many lawmen and outlaws who’ve been lost to the pages of history.
Deadline reports:
“Growing up in Texas, I heard a lot of stories about Bass Reeves. They were always akin to a dime novel hero with incredibly fanciful flourishes of a gunslinging lawman pursuing the most-hardened outlaws in the Wild West,” said Chad Feehan, who created Bass Reeves and also serves as showrunner/EP. “Somewhere in my childhood that myth of Bass took firm root in my consciousness and never left. Then one day, not too long ago, David Oyelowo invited me to dinner. Over the course of our meal, he explained his seven-year journey to tell Bass’s story, where the myth of the man both converged with and separated from reality, and why Bass’s life was more relevant than ever.”
“I immediately went home and scoured the internet, read books and listened to podcasts,” Feehan continued. “I became obsessed with what I didn’t know, with all of the nooks and crannies of Bass’ remarkable life that aren’t regularly shared, as well as with revisiting the often-told tales through a now-adult lens. That spark of obsession morphed into a raging Fire of determination, fueled by my desire to play a role, no matter how big or small, and assist David in honoring the legacy of Deputy US Marshal Bass Reeves.”
Should be interesting.
Check out the trailer for Lawmen: Bass Reeves below and let us know if you’ll be checking for this when it hits Paremount+ come November 5th.

Idris Elba may not be in line to become the next James Bond, but the man is surely acting like a 007 in the trailer for his upcoming action film, Hijack.

In the first trailer for the Apple TV+ action-thriller, Idris Elba stars as “Sam Nelson” (that man does not look like a Sam Nelson), who boards a 7-hour flight back home to London only to find himself in the middle of a hijack situation as armed gunmen take over the plane and force the passengers to comply with their demands. Armed with nothing but his wits and hands, Nelson hatches a plan to retake the flight, but only if some of his fellow passengers play their part in his plan.

Unfortunately the hijack is part of a bigger plot that could spell the end of not just the passengers on the plane, but people on the ground. Can Sam “The Negotiator” Nelson smooth talk his and the rest of the passengers’ way to safety or will they have to take matters into their own hands and risk ending the lives of hundreds and maybe thousands of innocent people? Guess we’ll have to wait till June 28 to find out when Hijack premiers on Apple TV+.
Check out the trailer to Hijack below and let us know if you’ll be checking it out when it premiers on June 28.
