Tracy Morgan is one of the dozens of celebrities who attend New York Knicks games and has become quite the fixture at Madison Square Garden. However, fans are more concerned with Tracy Morgan’s health than his celebrity status after the comedian and actor had what appeared to be a medical episode while at a recent game.
Tracy Morgan, 56, sat courtside on Monday (March 17) to watch the New York Knicks take on the Miami Heat. While the Knicks game didn’t air on national markets, the news of Morgan falling ill moved swiftly via the X social media platform and the reactions came in fast. Much of what was said was speculative as details surrounding the incident are still developing.
In a report from PEOPLE, the outlet shared an X post from @RealJoshBrownie that showed a video of Morgan being helped by emergency medical staff from the court floor after vomiting. Morgan was also reportedly bleeding from the nose as he was helped to his feet and was ultimately taken out of Madison Square Garden via wheelchair.

The medical incident took place around the third quarter of the Knicks-Heat matchup and delayed the game for 10 minutes as staff rushed to address the matter. MSG officials told the outlet, “We hope Tracy feels better soon and look forward to seeing him back courtside.”
The outlet adds that it reached out to Morgan’s reps but did not receive a response.
Tracy Morgan has battled health issues over the years, including receiving a kidney transplant. The SNL alum also was severely injured in a 2014 automobile crash and his long road to recovery has become part of both his standup act and his testimony.
On X, fans of Morgan are sharing their warm thoughts as he continues to heal from this latest incident.

Tracy Morgan is returning to NBC and will star in a new comedy series pilot.
Morgan will play a disgraced former football player on mission to repair his image in the series from Tina Fey and other 30 Rock alum Robert Carlock, who serve as Fey’s co-showrunner and writer, Sam Means, as well as producers Eric Gurian and David Miner.
Variety reports Carlock and Means will pen the new pilot, which will be live on NBC if it gets picked up. Outside of Morgan, no other names have been announced regarding the yet-to-be-named show.
Universal Television and production companies Little Stranger, Bevel Gears, and 3 Arts are also involved in the single-camera pilot.
For Morgan, he will be booked and busy, last year it was announced that he would be starring in a Paramount+ spinoff of CBS’ The Neighborhood titled Crutch, where he will play Cedric The Entertainer’s character, Calvin Butler’s cousin.
If you’re wondering how Morgan will be able to star in two sitcoms on competing networks, Variety reports that his deal allows him to do so without any worries.
This new project will reunite Morgan and Fey, who starred in NBC’s 30 Rock from 2006 to 2013, which lasted seven seasons. His performance as fan favorite Tracy Jordan earned him an Emmy nomination.
Before 30 Rock, Morgan rose to fame during his seven seasons on Saturday Night Live thanks to his characters, Astronaut Jones and Brian Fellows. He eventually got his own comedy series, The Tracy Morgan Show.
That’s not where Morgan’s credits end. In 2023, he released the Max stand-up special Tracy Morgan: Takin’ It Too Far. He was also in Martin and starred in TBS’ The Last OG, Comedy Central’s Crank Yankers, and Green Eggs and Ham.

Eddie Murphy’s impression of Tracy Morgan during “Black Jeopardy” proved to be a major hit on Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary special.
The iconic comedy sketch show Saturday Night Live celebrated 50 years on the air last Sunday (February 16), with one of its highlights being the return of “Black Jeopardy” featuring SNL veteran Kenan Thompson hosting as Darnell Hayes aka “Alex Treblack”. Eddie Murphy stole the show, appearing as Tracy Morgan while the real Morgan stood alongside him playing a man named Darius. Another SNL alum, Leslie Jones also played a contestant named Shanice.
“Welcome to ‘Black Jeopardy,’ the only ‘Jeopardy’ where every single viewer fully understood Kendrick’s halftime performance,” Thompson said, opening with a reference to Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show. As he introduced Eddie Murphy, who was dressed in a tracksuit similar to what Morgan wears, Murphy yelled out in an exaggerated voice uncannily like Morgan’s, “Big dog gonna make some big money!”
“Now wait a minute, Tracy. Don’t you already have a lot of money?” Thompson asked. “You gotta have a lot of money if you live like I live,” Murphy shot back. “I eat four-cheese lasagna. If they only got three cheeses, I ain’t eating it.” As Thompson tried to cut him short, Murphy stated, “I refuse to ingest three cheeses.” The sketch took another hilarious turn soon after.
“Darius, Tracy, y’all seem like you might be related,” Thompson said to Murphy, who replied: “Well, James Earl Jones is my biological father. James Earl Jones impregnated my mother on the set of ‘Claudine.’ You know what? We might be related.” The late James Earl Jones played Murphy’s father in the Coming To America movies. Morgan, dressed in a checkered short-sleeve shirt immediately replied looking annoyed, “I don’t see it.”
The sketch would take a couple more memorable comedic turns, with another SNL alum Chris Rock joining in for one question, joking that he was a fan since the 1970s when the show was called “Mama’s Got Questions”. His question asked the contestants to identify the Church Lady, a character fellow alum Dana Carvey played in the 1980s and 1990s. The answer was supplied by Tom Hanks, popping up as Doug, a MAGA supporter who he first portrayed on “Black Jeopardy” in 2016. MAGA Land didn’t like that.

Tracy Morgan has been in the entertainment game for decades, but it wasn’t until now that the OG comedian found out that he’s related to royalty in the form of the Queensbridge King, Nas.
According to HuffPost, Tracy Morgan participated in an episode of PBS’s Finding Your Roots series, and it was during that show that he learned that he and one Nasir Jones (Nas) are actually third cousins on his mother’s side. Tracy spoke about the discovery during a recent interview for the Connect The Dots podcast and recalled the moment he broke the news to Nas himself.
“I called him up, and I say, ‘Yo Esco,’” he said, according to HuffPost. “He said, ‘What up, Tray?’ I said, ‘Guess what? I just did ‘Finding Your Roots,’ me and you related.’ He started crying. I started crying. And I said to him, ‘If you ever need me, I’m there, cuz.’ He said, ‘Cuz, if you ever need me, I’m there.’”
Well, at least we know Tracy won’t be asking Nas to borrow money as the man is still living large off that $90 million Walmart settlement he won due to an accident he suffered back in 2014.
Still, it’s not like the men are strangers to one another as they do share a history already with Morgan explaining, “me and Esco was always tight before that. I did a show years ago on Comedy Central, a special called One Mic, that was for Nas’ mom, that just passed away. I named my special ‘One Mic,’ so me and Esco always been tight.”
Don’t be surprised if Tracy Morgan appears on Nas’ next album on a interlude or something.
The Tracy Morgan episode of PBS’s Finding Your Roots is set to air Feb. 20. Will you be tuning in? Let us know in the comments section below.
