“We loved what we did with the first record but we didn’t even know if there was gonna be anything after that,” recalls guitarist Jim Root of 1999’s Slipknot in a press statement. “We just wanted people to hear it. Selling out of records and shows, having successful tours– those are goals for any band. But the dream scenario in some ways, came true for us.”

The North American Here Comes the Pain Tour will kick off on August 6 in Noblesville, Ind., before hitting iconic venues like Madison Square Garden in New York City, the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto and Moody Center in Austin, Texas before wrapping up with Knotfest Iowa at Waterworks Park on September 21. Knocked Loose, Orbit Culture and Vended will be joining the gig as special guests on select dates.

Billie Eilish announced the dates the world tour in support of her third album on Monday (April 29). The Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour is slated to kick off on Sept. 29 at the Centre Videotron in Quebec and take the singer across North America through late December, with stops in Toronto, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Detroit, Newark, Boston and Pittsburgh before a three night-stint at Madison Square Garden (Oct. 16-18) and two nights at State Farm Arena in Atlanta (Nov. 2-3).
The Tour in support of Hit Me Hard and Soft (May 17) will continue to criss-cross the nation, hitting Nashville, Cincinnati, Chicago, Denver, Seattle, Portland and San Jose before winding down with two shows at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, CA on Dec. 16-17. Eilish will then hop to Australia for a run of shows in Brisbane (Feb. 18, 19, 21, 22), Sydney (Feb. 24, 25, 27, 28) and Melbourne (March 4, 5, 7, 8).

The dates will pick up again in April 2025 for a European run of shows on the Live Nation-promoted tour that will keep the singer on the road through a July 27 gig at 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland. Tickets for the tour will go on sale beginning with an American Express presale on Tuesday (April 30), with additional presales slate for the rest of the week. Any remaining tickets will be available during a general onsale starting May 3 here.

The tour will feature a number of sustainability efforts, including the continuation of Eilish’s long-running partnership with environmental nonprofit Reverb, which has so far resulted in $1 million in donations to environmental, greenhouse gas reduction and climate justice projects according to a release announcing the dates. On the upcoming tour sustainability efforts will include reducing greenhouse gas pollution, decreasing single-use plastic waste, supporting climate action and updating concession offerings to promote plant-based food options.

In addition, a portion of ticket proceeds from sales in North America will go to Reverb to support its efforts to address food insecurity and the climate crisis. There will also be a Billie Eilish Reverb eco village set up on two locations on the main concourse of every show where fans can participate in the tour’s sustainability efforts and connect with nonprofits.

Support + Feed will also continue their previous collaboration with Eilish and offer an expanded version of their Support+Feed Pledge aimed at inspiring fans to eat one plant-based meal a day for 30 days. Eilish’s fans are being encouraged to take public transportation and/or carpool to shows to reduce their carbon footprint and to bring an empty reusable water bottle or donate to receive a custom RockNRefill Nalgene bottle they can fill up for free at water refill stations at every venue. Eilish is also encouraging fans to fight the tremendous waste caused by fast fashion by dressing up for the gigs in thrifted, upcycled or borrowed clothes instead of buying new ones.

In an effort to keep tickets out of the hands of scalpers, the tour is using Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange, which will allow fans who purchase tickets for the North American tour they can’t attend to resell them to other fans at the original price; click here to find out more about this program.

Guyton’s new single, a gentle ballad about a mother’s fierce love, opens with the heart-touching lines, “I see pictures of my mama, hangin’ on the wall/ She’s never looked so happy, and I’ve never looked so small/ Now I’m holdin’ you and I know what they say is true/ When a baby’s born that’s when a mother’s born too.”

Guyton and husband Grant Savoy welcomed their first child, son Grayson, in Feb. 2021 and the acoustic ballad’s moving lyric video features home movie footage of Guyton in the hospital cradling her then newborn and spending time with the now toddler. “Cuz I felt it before, but it wasn’t like this/ Ain’t a thing I wouldn’t do, ain’t a thing I wouldn’t give/ It’s the kind you fall into and never hit the bottom of/ It’s a scary love,” she sings on the chorus.

We are just two weeks away from Taylor Swift hitting the road again for a summer swing of European Eras Tour shows. And, as you may have heard, since the last time she played an Eras show Swift has dropped her fastest-selling album of all-time, The Tortured Poets Department, a sprawling, 31-track collection that has been racking up record after record in its first week.
So, naturally, inquiring Swifties want to know if TTPD will be added to the Eras roster when the already jam-packed three-plus hour extravaganza revs up again on May 9 with the first of four shows at the Paris La Défense Arena in Paris? If you’ve been playing this game long enough you know there are always Easter eggs.

Trending on Billboard

While Swift has not commented, on Thursday night (April 25) Swift uploaded a 15-second YouTube Shorts clip in which it appeared that TTPD has, indeed, been slipped into rotation. Cued to the album’s first single, the Post Malone-featuring “Fortnight,” it finds Swift singing, dancing and playing piano in what look like Lover and Folklore set-ups, one quick-cut caught a lot of attention. In a brief shot, Swift is seen standing next to a silver railing that eagle-eyed fans quickly surmised was in the shape of the TTPD logo. There was no chill about this news.

“GUYS THE RAILING LITERALLY SAYS TTPD!?!;);$!; ITS THE TTPD LOGO WE’RE GETTING TTPD AT THE ERAS TOUR,” tweeted one Swiftie. Another pointed out that Swift appeared to be wearing the same shoes from the “Fortnight” video in the rehearsal clip and another proved that there is no one in the game better at the long game than Taylor.

“tHIS is what she means when she says she plans easter eggs far in advance. AHHHHH!!!!,” they wrote, noting that another Swiftie spotted that Swift had seemingly teased this new era before the tour even began when she posted an image of a box containing all her different-colored Eras microphones, including a white one that “hasn’t had a place in the show… until now!!!” It was hard to tell if Swift was wielding this white mic in the video because the clip is in grayscale, but that didn’t stop the breathless speculation about what’s next on the singer’s stadium-packing outing.

Others also noted that the video appeared to feature new choreography and costumes that have not yet been rolled out, further proof that a new Era is potentially on the horizon. At press time a spokesperson for Swift had not returned Billboard‘s request for comment on whether TTPD will be included in the upcoming run of shows.

Check out the Shorts clip and the Easter egg hunt below.

Madonna is performing a series of five concerts in Mexico City this week as part of her Celebration Tour, an occasion that the Queen of Pop has taken to reiterate her love for Mexican culture and one of its most iconic figures: the famous painter Frida Kahlo.
“As you know, I have a great history, a long history with Mexico,” the superstar said Saturday night at the Palacio de los Deportes during her performance of “Burning Up,” according to La Razón. “When I was a girl, I discovered Frida Kahlo. I went to the only museum that existed in Detroit, and there were Diego Rivera murals everywhere, but to be honest, I was more interested in a small picture in a corner, of a beautiful woman with her hair gathered in braids and intense eyes.”

Previously, Madonna met with the Kahlo family on Thursday at their home in the city neighborhood of El Pedregal, and wrote an emotional dedication in the guest book expressing she was inspired by the iconic painter, who she considers to be her “soul mate,” reported Mexican newspaper Reforma.

Just as she’s been doing at different stops on her tour, the Material Girl has had special guests in Mexico during the performance of “Vogue” to judge a handful of dancers in a dance competition. On Saturday, at the first of her shows at the Palacio de los Deportes, she had Mexican comedian Guillermo Rodriguez, known as Jimmy Kimmel’s sidekick on ABC’s late-night show Jimmy Kimmel Live!

“When you go to a Madonna concert and she CALLS YOU UP ON STAGE!!!,” says a shared post from Rodriguez and Kimmel on Instagram with a video of the moment in the show.

The second guest was Cuban actor Alberto Guerra, who lives in Mexico. He shared the moment on his social media, along with some snapshots to immortalize the moment. “Thank you Madonna, for giving me the memory of a night that will live forever in my heart,” the actor wrote in English on Instagram.

On Tuesday (April 23), the surprise guest was Mexican influencer Wendy Guevara, a trans actress who won Televisa’s reality show La Casa de los Famosos in 2023, and who was greeted with cheers from the audience when she got onstage. “And a dream come true,” Guevara captioned a photo of her with Madonna on Instagram.

Madonna’s final performances in Mexico City are on Wednesday and Friday. It’s unknown if she will have more guests at press time.

Megadeth announced the dates for a 33-show U.S. fall tour on Tuesday (April 23). The Live Nation-produced Destroy All Enemies outing will feature support from Mudvayne and All That Remains and is slated to kick off on August 2 at the Walmart AMP in Rogers, AR.
“Our ‘Crush The World’ tour has been a tremendous experience for the four of us,” said singer/guitarist Dave Mustaine in a statement. “We are all playing tight, and that has made it possible for me to really focus on solos and singing, we are playing more songs than ever before, and we are closer to each other, onstage AND off. I’m excited to see Mudvayne, and All That Remains. Join us as we DESTROY ALL ENEMIES.”

The two-month run will include shows in Houston, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Charlotte, Boston, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and Minneapolis, before winding down on Sept. 28 with a gig at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium. Tickets for all the dates will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. local time on Friday (April 26), with a presale for Cyber Army/Megadeth Digital members kicking off today at noon local time here.

According to a release, the outing will feature Mustaine and company playing classics from their beloved albums Rust in Peace, Countdown to Extinction and others, including their most recent studio LP, The Sick, the Dying… and the Dead!

Idina Menzel is heading back out on the road.
The superstar announced her Take Me or Leave Me Tour exclusively via Billboard on Tuesday (April 23), marking her first tour in nearly eight years. “I was really missing the connection with my fans,” she tells Billboard of the decision to tour again. “I have my new musical Redwood at La Jolla Playhouse that I’m passionate about, and it’s been occupying me. I thought, if that goes through another iteration, I wanted to make sure I got my time with my fans from a personal perspective as opposed to through a character.”

The North American run kicks off July 19 in Seattle, Wash., before stretching throughout the summer, hitting venues in Los Angeles, New York, Las Vegas and more before wrapping up on August 18 in Greensboro, NC. The tour title, of course, is inspired by the beloved song, “Take Me or Leave Me” from the musical Rent, in which Menzel made her Tony-nominated Broadway debut as Maureen Johnson in 1996.

“Maureen was always uninhibited and extremely comfortable in who she was, maybe to the fault [laughs],” Menzel says. “I’ve always loved that song and I miss that character, but I would say I’m naming the tour this from a different perspective. Obviously, many, many years later, it’s about who I am in this point in my life. I haven’t seen my fans in a long time, and I want to show them how I’ve changed, and how I haven’t. I want to show them my experiences and hopefully, they’ll love me no matter what.”

Trending on Billboard

The beloved actress’ tour will feature a career-spanning setlist of hits, which she’s currently putting together and stays “up all night thinking about,” and she promises an “eclectic” mix of hits from her own albums and jazz standards as well as musicals she’s performed in like Wicked, Rent and, of course, Frozen. “I often wrestle with the fact that I often assume that people will be bored if I sing the same songs over and over, like ‘Let It Go’ or ‘Defying Gravity,’” she shares. “I’m always trying to rewrite things, discover or cover new songs, reinterpret them and then I always get this feedback of ‘No, we want to hear these songs!’ I’m trying to strike a balance between performing songs the way I think my audience would want to hear them and feeling like, as an artist, that I’m growing and singing the songs in a way that their lyrics resonate with me. I juggle it and then I sit with my band and we play with it and assess it and sort of see what kind of floats to the top.”

She concludes in theme with the tour’s “Take Me or Leave Me” title, “I’ve always said back in the day that versatility was my curse. Now, I embrace my versatility. It makes me who I am.”

Artist presale tickets for Menzel’s tour as well as VIP packages will be available starting on Wednesday (April 24) at 10 a.m. local time. General on-sale for tickets begins Friday (April 26) at 10 a.m. local time. See the full list of dates below, and check out the venues and ticket information here.
