Nicki Nicole kicked off her Alma Tour USA — her first in the United States — and the Argentine singer-songwriter and rapper is performing all her fan-favorite songs, from “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 13” to “Dispara,” “8 AM,” “Qué Le Pasa Conmigo?” and more.
The first concert of the tour took place Sunday (Sept. 22) at Irving Plaza in New York City, a venue with a capacity of 1,200, and it was sold out. Accompanied by bassist and musical director Juan Kuj, drummer K2, and keyboardist Benja Rampoldi — and dressed in white mini shorts and crop top with triangular cutouts at the torso and blue platform boots — Nicki opened the set with her 2019 collaboration with Bizarrap, immediately setting the mood for a fun, energetic night.
Throughout an hour-and-a-half, she kept a mostly young audience eating from the palm of her hand, singing not only songs from her latest album, Alma, but also hits from her previous LP, Parte De Mí, as well as collaborations with other artists (which played on recordings while Nicki sang live) and more recent singles like “Ojos Verdes.”
She also received gifts from her fans — flags, flowers, and others — and pleased a small group of fans who asked to come on stage to take photos with her in a handwritten sign she managed to read among the audience.
“Thank you all so much for being here. I can’t believe it,” said Nicki evidently excited to be there, amid cheers from the crowd. “I truly love you. Thank you so much.”
Nicki Nicole’s seven-date U.S. tour continues on Wednesday (Sept. 25) in Houston, followed by stops in Dallas, Miami, Chicago, and San Diego, before ending on Oct. 4 in Los Angeles. After this, the Argentine star will travel to Mexico to perform at the capital’s iconic National Auditorium on Oct. 8, and on Oct. 12 at Fundidora Park in the city of Monterrey. The pumpkins and skeletons are just starting to fill the aisles, but Jennifer Hudson is fully in Christmas mode thanks to two big announcements on Wednesday (Sept. 18). The singer and daytime talk show host is teaming up with Hallmark to celebrate the 15th anniversary of their annual “Countdown to Christmas” roll-out of holiday movies and content and the 2024 “Joy To Your World” holiday campaign by teasing the new song “Let There Be Joy.”
In a preview shared with Billboard of the raucous, gospel-tinged holiday anthem, the EGOT performer joyfully wails, “Let there be joy to your world/ Every boy and girl/ Peace on Earth, good will to men/ And may we wall shine our light, make the season bright/ Share a little love again.”
In addition, Hallmark announced that songs from Hudson’s upcoming debut holiday album, The Gift of Love (Oct. 18), will appear across upcoming Hallmark holiday programming. “No one does the holidays quite like my friends at Hallmark, so I couldn’t be more thrilled to celebrate the season together with my new song ‘Let There Be Joy,’ as we Countdown to Christmas,” Hudson said in a statement. “Music and movies have always been a favorite holiday tradition for me and my family, so I hope this song can become the same tradition for everyone on Santa’s list this year!”

Hallmark chief brand officer Darren Abbott added, “As we mark 15 incredible years of Countdown to Christmas, we continue to focus on our mission of bringing joy and happiness to the world during the holidays. Partnering with Jennifer Hudson couldn’t be a more perfect fit. The original song ‘Let There Be Joy’ captures the heart and soul of what we aim to share each holiday season — pure, genuine joy. We’re excited to share this magical experience and continue our tradition of making the holidays brighter and more joyful than ever.”
In addition, Hudson announced a limited-engagement holiday tour, The Gift of Love: An Intimate Live Experience, which will launch on Nov. 24 in Brooklyn, followed by shows in her native Chicago (Dec. 13), Los Angeles (Dec. 18) and Las Vegas (Dec. 21-22); tickets for the gigs will go on sale on Friday (Sept. 20) at 10 a.m. local time here.
Hudson’s first holiday album will feature covers of such standards as “Jingle Bells,” “O Holy Night,” “Winter Wonderland,” “Little Drummer Boy” and “Auld Lang Syne,” along with a number of originals.

Zayn Malik is hitting the road. The former One Direction singer and solo star made another one of his patented silent walk-on appearances on The Tonight Show on Tuesday (Sept. 17), in which he strolled onto the set during host Jimmy Fallon’s post-monologue desk time to make a very special announcement.
In keeping with his previous no words pop-in earlier this year when he strolled onto set in March with a coffee mug in hand and cued up his then-new ballad “What I Am” on Fallon’s laptop before handing him a note announcing his fourth solo album, Room Under the Stairs, last night’s appearance was short on words but big on news.
Wearing a black leather jacket and missing the voluminous beard that has been covering his face lately, Zayn, 31, again with a white coffee mug in hand, casually walked out to screams from the studio audience and handed Fallon a note. “Zayn! Zayn, what are you…,” Fallon said in mock surprise at the unexpected (but clearly planned) visit.

Malik smiled and waved at the crowd before cueing up his Room Under the Stairs single “Stardust” on Fallon’s computer. He then walked to the front of the desk, swapped out Fallon’s black coffee mug for his own white Z-branded one, waved to the crowd and walked off stage.
“Hey Jimmy, great to see you, mate,” Fallon read the note left behind by the English singer in what sounded like an Australian accent via Liverpool that eventually downshifted into his regular voice. “I’m going on my first-ever tour this autumn. So maybe when you’re done picking apples with your buds, you can come check out my Stairway to the Sky tour across the U.S. and UK.”
While at press time the dates had not yet been revealed, the note said the official announcement was coming Wednesday morning (Sept. 18).
Hours before, the singer also teased the outing with a cryptic 24-second black and white video captioned “Tomorrow” in which he schlepped an old timey antenna to the top of a hill, twirled the dials on a reel-to-reel tape machine and pulled out a walkie talkie as a voice intoned, “I know it took a while, but we’re here.”
When he does hit the road, Zayn will have four solo albums of material to choose from, from his 2016 debut, Mind of Mine, to 2018’s Icarus Falls, 2021’s Nobody Is Listening and this year’s Room Under the Stairs.
This story will be updated when the dates are officially announced.
