A group of criminals pulled off the biggest heist ever in Los Angeles. Thieves stole almost $30 million in cash from a holding facility on Easter Sunday.
As spotted on Raw Story, the burglars brought the plot from the Ocean’s Eleven to real life. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) say that the crew broke into a money holding facility in the neighborhood of Sylmar. According to a source who spoke to the Los Angeles Times, the unidentified individuals broke into the building’s roof and evaded the security system all together. Once inside, they reportedly accessed the vault without issue and made off with close to $30 million dollars in cash.
The perpetrators were so experienced that the staff at the facility didn’t notice the money missing right away. “It’s just mind blowing that you would never suspect it,” an anonymous employee told ABC News. “$30 million in the Valley, gone. How? Why? I’m still trying to process it. Was it an inside job? Was it just one person? Was it a group? You know, there’s a lot of questions.” The LAPD and FBI have confirmed they are working and “have a joint investigation into an alleged burglary that occurred on Sunday evening, March 31, 2024. No additional information related to the incident is being released,” the agencies confirmed in a joint statement.

Just when it seemed like high-stakes sneaker theft was a thing of the past, thieves hit another major lick and made off with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of Nike sneakers this week. However, they didn’t get far.
According to WREG News 3, a group of men broke into a boxcar in North Memphis Monday (Aug. 14), and stole $400,000 worth of Nike’s in the wee hours of the morning. Unfortunately for them, police were quickly alerted to the robbery and showed up while the robbery was in process. With five cars parked on the scene of the crime including four Nissans and a Honda, police knew it was about to go down, and down it went.

According to reports, multiple suspects were wearing dark clothing and ski masks. They were seen carrying multiple boxes from a train to their cars.
Officers attempted to stop some of the suspects, but four of them fled the scene on foot. After a chase, officers caught Terry Sullivan, who had a Nissan key in his front pocket.
Another suspect, Robert Doyle, ran inside the business warehouse, which MPD says only had one door. An employee locked him in, and police went in and saw him hiding under a large toolbox.
The other two suspects on foot got away.
During the incident, police say a black Nissan Maxima carrying more men sped past them and was able to get away.
As for Robert Doyle and Terry Sullivan, both men were booked and charged with five counts of Burglary of a Vehicle and Theft of Property $60,000 – $250,000. Don’t be surprised if they start dropping dime to escape doing a lengthy prison sentence. All over sneakers.
As crazy as these hits have become over the past few years, sneakerheads really just want to know which sneakers were stolen and whether or not it’ll affect their chances of getting the exclusive grails that are hard enough to cop as is. Did these thieves ransack a bunch of bricks that no one wants, or were they tipped off that this truck had some unreleased retro Jordans or SB Dunks that we’ve been waiting on?
We need some sneaker police on these cases to let us know so we can be either horrified, or breathe a sigh of relief. Just sayin’.

Do not show your plate to those who are hungry. Thieves made away with two million dimes in a Philadelphia street heist.
As spotted on CBS News local badges say some unidentified individuals hit a lick like never before. On Thursday, April 13 a truck was parked in the Northeast section of Philadelphia from the evening prior. While the vehicle was clearly unmarked, a team of robbers were wise to the contents and found a way to gain entry into the trailer. Inside were 15 pallets of ten cent coins; with each pallet holding just about $50,000 in dimes.
The crooks made away with roughly five of those pallets but left a mess during the heist. That morning police found the truck door wide open and hundreds of dimes on the floor. Originally authorities estimated their caper landed them $100,000 but have increased the guess to $200,000. Police say that the driver picked up the currency from the local mint Old City and was headed to another mint in Miami, Florida. The trucker said he parked it overnight in a Walmart parking lot to get some rest.
“There’s been a lot of cargo thefts here and there in Northeast Philly and South Philadelphia over the ensuing months where we’ve had lamb, chicken, TVs, refrigerators, etc. taken, alcohol,” Philadelphia Police Captain John Ryan said. Police are currently looking for “10 or more men wearing wearing all black”.
