Taylor Swift‘s The Eras tour is taking over Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla., on Thursday night (April 13), which happens to be a school night. That’s why Hillsborough County Superintendent Addison Davis sent out a letter of caution to students, in a language only Swifties can understand.

The letter, which let students know that an absence to attend the concert will not be excused, was filled with references to various Swift songs. “I understand I am the ‘Anti-Hero’ here, and ‘Call It What You Want,’ but ‘You’re on Your Own Kid’ if you think being a Swiftie is a good excuse for missing important instruction,” the note posted to Reddit reads. “You know ‘All Too Well’ you ‘Should’ve Said No’ to attending a Thursday night concert. Especially one from an artist who is known for putting on a three-hour AMAZING show.”

Read the full letter here.

Davis had a similar idea to a Texas legal-service provider named Karen Vladeck, who wrote her own pun-filled letter for exactly what the superintendent was dreading: asking that her first-grader be excused from school to attend The Eras tour. According to Vladeck, the teacher simply responded in all caps, “THIS MADE MY ENTIRE DAY.”

Swift is currently a month into her Eras Tour shows, which she kicked off in Glendale, Arizona. Following sets in Las Vegas and Arlington, the “Anti-Hero” musician is headlining three shows in Tampa on April 13, 14 and 15.

Millie Bobby Brown is engaged to her longtime boyfriend Jake Bongiovi, and the Stranger Things star made it Instagram official with an adorable black-and-white post featuring a Taylor Swift lyric. Now, the Grammy-winning superstar is showing her support.

Swift hit like on the Instagram post, which features lyrics from the title track of the singer’s 2019 album, Lover. “I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, I want ’em all,” Brown wrote alongside the snap of the happy couple, with the actress wearing a sparkling ring on *that* finger.

Brown and Bongiovi were first romantically linked after they posted a selfie together in June 2021, making things official later in the year with a November post in which they were snapped kissing on the London Eye.

The happy news came just days after reports that Swift and actor Joe Alwyn had broken up after six years together. “The relationship had just run its course. It’s why [Alwyn] hasn’t been spotted at any shows,” a source reportedly told ET. Billboard has since reached out to representatives for Swift and Alwyn, but had not received a response.

Swift began dating the actor, who has appeared in a number of films including 2018’s The Favourite and 2022’s Conversations With Friends, in 2016. The couple has yet to publicly reveal the current status of their relationship.

Swifties worldwide felt a collective sense of heartbreak on Saturday (April 8), when reports emerged that Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn have split after six years of dating.

“The relationship had just run its course. It’s why [Alwyn] hasn’t been spotted at any shows,” a source reportedly told ET. Billboard has since reached out to representatives for Swift and Alwyn, but had not received a response. The couple has yet to publicly reveal the status of their relationship.

Swift began dating the actor, who has appeared in a number of films including 2018’s The Favourite and 2022’s Conversations With Friends, in 2016. They’ve stayed private about their relationship throughout the past six years, though they’ve mentioned each other in interviews.

Alwyn also worked with Swift on her albums under the pen name William Bowery, winning his first Grammy in 2021 as a co-producer of Swift’s album of the year winner, Folklore (along with Swift, Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner).

On Evermore, Alwyn co-wrote “Champagne Problems,” The National-assisted “Coney Island” and “Evermore.” And on Swift’s most recent release, Midnights, he contributed to “Sweet Nothing.”

We’ve compiled a timeline of Swift and Alwyn’s relationship, which you can check out below. We also have a timeline of everything the former couple has said about each other, which you can find here.

November 2016 – Swift Attends ‘Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk’ Premiere

After rumors began swirling that Swift met Alwyn at the 2016 Met Gala, and that the duo attended a Kings of Leon concert a month after the superstar’s split from Tom Hiddleston, the first public sighting of Swift and Alwyn in the same location came in November 2016.

Swift was joined by her mom and friends Este and Alana Haim at the Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk premiere, in which Alwyn plays the titular character.

May 2017: First Reports of a Relationship

The Sun published a report that the duo had been together for a few months.

“This isn’t a new couple alert or a secret relationship – the only people this has been a secret to is the media because all of us, Taylor and Joe’s closest friends and their families, were aware they have been together for several months and have known each other for a long time,” a source reportedly told the publication. “After her 1989 tour and all the attention Taylor received, she learned she had to be more protective of her personal life and she and Joe decided early on to keep their private life private.”

Summer 2017 – First Paparazzi Photos

The couple was finally caught in public in June 2017, when they were seen sitting on a balcony in Nashville. A month lather, they were snapped leaving Swift’s NYC apartment (while trying very hard to be incognito).

May 2018 – Instagram Official (Kind Of)

Both Alwyn and Swift posted photos of themselves (solo) next to the same exact cactus, which the actor later admitted was unintentional. “I didn’t even think of that until I was in New York and someone else mentioned it,” he said, according to ET. “It wasn’t purposeful at all!”

September 2018 – Joe Talks About Taylor for the First Time

“I’m aware people want to know about that side of things,” he said of their relationship. “I think we have been successfully very private, and that has now sunk in for people.”

“But I really prefer to talk about work,” he added.

November 2018 – Swift Posts About Alwyn’s Movie

Another subtle Instagram nod to their relationship came when Swift promoted The Favourite, in which Alwyn played Samuel Masham. She even tagged Alwyn in the caption.

February 2019 – Swift and Alwyn Step Out at BAFTAS After Party.

The duo walked hand-in-hand, with Alwyn dressed in a sleek tuxedo and Swift in a pale blue Stella McCartney dress, as they headed out of the party.

August 2019 – The ‘Lover’ Era

In August 2019, Swift released her seventh studio album Lover, which she revealed during a YouTube Live is about relationships and her current “lover.” Fans then began noticing clues about the couple in songs like “London Boy,” “Cornelia Street,” “Paper Rings” and the album’s title track.

October 2019 – ‘SNL’ After Party

After Swift took the stage at Saturday Night Live, the couple were seen holding hands while heading to New York’s Zuma for the show’s after party.

December 2019 – Alwyn Attends ‘Cats’ Premiere

Alwyn supported Swift at the premiere of Cats, in which she played Bombalurina.

January 2020 – Date Night at the Golden Globes

While the duo didn’t walk the red carpet together at the 2020 Golden Globes, where Swift was nominated for best original song for her and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats track “Beautiful Ghosts,” the couple sat together inside the venue.

April 2020 – Benjamin Button Photos

With COVID-19 spreading rapidly, Swift and Alwyn seemed to enjoy quarantining together, as Alwyn shared multiple photos of the singer’s cat Benjamin Button.

July 2020 – William Bowery Enters the Scene

With the release of Folklore, fans noticed a mysterious William Bowery credited as a writer on both “Exile” and “Betty.”

Fans immediately began speculating that Bowery was Alwyn, as the couple had spent a lot of time in the Bowery neighborhood of New York City early in their relationship.

November 2020 – Swift Reveals ‘Peace’ Is About Alwyn

During a conversation with Paul McCartney for Rolling Stone, Swift shared that the Folklore track is “actually more rooted in my personal life. I know you have done a really excellent job of this in your personal life: carving out a human life within a public life, and how scary that can be when you do fall in love and you meet someone, especially if you’ve met someone who has a very grounded, normal way of living. I, oftentimes, in my anxieties, can control how I am as a person and how normal I act and rationalize things, but I cannot control if there are 20 photographers outside in the bushes and what they do and if they follow our car and if they interrupt our lives. I can’t control if there’s going to be a fake weird headline about us in the news tomorrow.”

She added that while Alwyn “absolutely” understands her life, the relationship has changed her perspective on privacy. “Whether that’s deciding where to live, who to hang out with, when to not take a picture—the idea of privacy feels so strange to try to explain, but it’s really just trying to find bits of normalcy. That’s what that song ‘Peace’ is taking about. Like, would it be enough if I could never fully achieve the normalcy that we both crave?”

November 2020 – William Bowery’s Identity Is Revealed

In Folklore: The Long Pond Sessions, Swift revealed that the identity of Bowery is none other than Alwyn, confirming fan speculation. “There’s been a lot of discussion about William Bowery and his identity because it’s not a real person,” she said in the Disney+ special. “William Bowery is Joe, as we know.”

December 2020 – William Bowery Reappears on ‘Evermore’

Bowery is credited on the album’s “Champagne Problems,” “Coney Island” and “Evermore.”

April 2021 – Alwyn Is Officially a Grammy Winner

Alwyn co-produced six songs on Folklore, which won album of the year at the 63rd annual Grammy Awards – “Exile,” “Betty,” “My Tears Ricochet,” “August,” “This Is Me Trying” and “Illicit Affairs.” In addition, he co-wrote “Exile” and “Betty” under the pseudonym William Bowery.

March 2022 – The Couple Attends Pre-Oscars Party

“Taylor was introducing Joe to many people around her,” a source told E! of CAA’s pre-Oscars party at the San Vicente Bungalows. “She looked smitten and proud to be there with him.”

Another source said the two “were very coupley and cute and seemed happy to be there together. Taylor and Joe were together all night. He was leading her around introducing her to people, and Taylor also introducing people to Joe. When Joe was leading Taylor around, he held his arm around her back.”

April 2022 – Alwyn Addressed Engagement Rumors

Rumors had been circulating for years that the duo planned to tie the knot, but Alwyn kept the topic private as usual. “If I had a pound for every time I think I’ve been told I’ve been engaged, then I’d have a lot of pound coins,” he told the Wall Street Journal. “I mean, the truth is, if the answer was yes, I wouldn’t say, and if the answer was no, I wouldn’t say.”

June 2022 – Bahamas Vacation

TMZ shared photos of the couple kissing while swimming in the ocean, and relaxing on sun beds during their sunny vacation.

February 2023 – “Lavender Haze” Music Video

Before releasing Midnights, Swift revealed to fans that “Lavender Haze” is inspired by her relationship with Alwyn. “I happened upon the phrase ‘Lavender Haze’ when I was watching Mad Men,” the musical artist explained in a post on Instagram. “I looked it up because I thought it sounded cool, and it turns out that it’s a common phrase used in the ’50s where they would describe being in love…If you were in the lavender haze, then that meant that you were in that all-encompassing love glow, and I thought that was really beautiful.”

She continued, “I guess theoretically, when you’re in the lavender haze, you’ll do anything to stay there and not let people bring you down off of that cloud. I think a lot of people have to deal with this now, not just ‘public figures’, because we live in the era of social media. If the world finds out that you’re in love with somebody, they’re going to weigh in on it.”

When the music video for the song was released in February 2023, Swift snuck in one of her famous Easter Eggs on a “Mastermind” vinyl that appears in the clip. On the cover are Sagittarius and Pisces constellations, which are Swift and Alwyn’s zodiac signs, respectively.

April 2023 – Breakup Reports

According to ET, a source said the breakup was amicable and “was not dramatic.”

“The relationship had just run its course. It’s why [Alwyn] hasn’t been spotted at any shows,” the source reportedly noted. Swift and Alwyn have yet to publicly confirm or deny the split.

It’s nice to have a friend — especially when that friend is Taylor Swift. In a new interview with InStyle published on Tuesday (April 11), Gigi Hadid shared that something she has in common with her superstar pal is their love of cooking.

“Taylor Swift is an exceptional cook, and I love her,” the model revealed. “She also makes a really good bolognese sauce and a really good chili that I love.”

Hadid also added that cooking with friends helps her feel close to them. “When you have friends that really also care about those special moments and the more intimate spaces and what can really come from putting an effort into making the time for that, I think that that’s when you start to find the friends that you really connect with, because you’re both working towards manifesting those really special moments,” she shared.

The model is hardly the first person to compliment Swift’s culinary skills. Earlier this year, Paramore’s Hayley Williams gushed over the “Anti-Hero” singer’s cooking while chatting with Zane Lowe for an interview on Apple Music 1. “I remember when we were 19 and I was closer with Taylor Swift at that point because we both lived in Nashville, and we’re both experiencing our own versions of real success for the first time,” she recalled. “I went over to hang out. She’s a really good cook, by the way. She’s a really good cook. She has taught me how to make stuff that I did not retain at all.”

A life-sized cardboard cutout of Taylor Swift became a popular fixture in Cornbrook, England, as it was on display of an apartment building near the Metrolink stop since 2017.

However, the apartment owner Red Redmond is moving out and now auctioning the affectionately called “Tram Taylor,” for a good cause. In memory of 16-year-old Brianna Ghey, a transgender girl who was stabbed to death in February in Culcheth Linear Park, proceeds for the sale will go to Mermaids, a British charity and advocacy organization that supports gender variant and transgender youth.

Redmond told BBC that Ghey’s death had a “big impact” on them, which is what inspired the decision to auction the cut-out.

Swift hasn’t publicly revealed if she’s aware of the auction, but the star is known for responding to fans. Last week, the superstar made a young Swiftie’s dream come true during The Eras tour stop in Las Vegas, when a seven-year-old named Bella set out on a mission to send her favorite singer a letter.

Her mother, Gina Lanzino, detailed the situation on TikTok. Upon arriving to the venue, Lanzino explained that Bella got an opening to have her letter delivered to Swift when she approached an usher, who agreed to try his best and deliver the note. Then, during the show, Bella and her mother receive a major update.

“We were about halfway through the show when some people came to our box and they were asking for Bella. I had actually forgot about the letter by that time, and I said, ‘That’s my daughter, what’s going on?’ And they say, ‘We wanted to give this to you,’ and it was the letter Bella gave to Taylor and she [Taylor] signed it. She [Bella] did write her section number on the back, but I really didn’t ever in a million years think that this was going to get returned to her. They filmed my daughter getting the letter back because they wanted to pass it back to Taylor.”

Taylor Swift continued her history-making Eras Tour on Friday night (March 31), kicking off three shows through Sunday in Arlington, Texas.

Though fans and media who caught the tour at its first stop in Glendale, Ariz., and subsequent shows in Las Vegas have already revealed key details about the extensive 3 hour and 15 minute set list, elaborate costumes, and more, Friday’s concert held some special surprise moments for Swifties.

Leading up to the night, local news outlets made a slew of announcements that urged citizens to beware of Eras Tour-induced traffic jams and parking issues in Arlington, which sits right in between Dallas and Fort Worth and boasts most of the metroplex’s major amusements, including Globe Life Field, Six Flags Over Texas and the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium — where Swift performed — but many concertgoers seemingly avoided the regular rush by arriving early, planting themselves in line for merchandise and entrance to the concert.

So what made Swift’s first Arlington show stand out from the previous Eras shows? Read below for some brand-new moments from the Friday night concert.

Self-Titled Debut Skipped on Night 1

One of the notable changes in Swift’s evolving Eras Tour setlist on Friday was the omission of songs from Taylor Swift on night 1 in Arlington. In the opening night of each of the previous weekends so far, one song from her self-titled project made it into the acoustic portion of her show. The first night in Glendale, she played her debut single “Tim McGraw,” and night 1 in Las Vegas, she played crowd favorite “Our Song.”

Three Songs Get Their Eras Tour Debut

After playing “The 1” — a swap-out for her usual Folklore opener “Invisible String” — Swift admitted, “You know, I’ve never played that song live before,” making its performance both a debut on the Eras Tour setlist and a live debut in general.

She also worked in “Sad Beautiful Tragic” from Red to the setlist during her acoustic portion. Strumming it on just an acoustic guitar, she introduced the song saying, “I love this one. When I love a song, I don’t care what anyone says.”

To follow it up, Swift moved over to an upright piano at the end of the stage and began playing “Ours” from Speak Now. Another surprise for fans: “Ours” became the second Speak Now cut to make it onto the setlist, the first being “Enchanted,” which has been played every night of the tour so far.

MUNA Joins as an Opening Act

Los Angeles-based trio MUNA joined the Eras Tour on Friday for their first performance, following fellow opener GAYLE. Comprised of Katie Gavin, Josette Maskin and Naomi McPherson, the Saddest Factory-signed band made full use of the stage, parading up and down the catwalk while performing a number of songs from their 2022 self-titled album. “They’re all over every playlist of mine,” Swift said of MUNA in a break after singing “Lover.” “They absolutely killed it.”

Swift Says to Expect the Unexpected

After surprising the crowd with her first-ever performance of “The 1,” Swift grabbed the mic, smiling as she teased her fans: “You think you can just scroll the setlist? You think you can just come prepared? Let it be said about The Eras Tour … there’s high jinks.” The taunt may not just be a reference to the Arlington set and could be an overall message for the rest of the U.S. stadium tour.

It’s nice to have a friend, and Taylor Swift has plenty of famous pals that have been supporting her on her massive The Eras tour, which kicked off on March 17 in Glendale, Ariz.

Besides friends like HAIM, Laura Dern, Emma Stone and Shania Twain watching from the crowd and singing along to every word, Swift also surprised fans with onstage appearances. Despite telling fans during night one at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium that “we don’t have guests at this show,” the pop superstar invited the Mumford & Sons frontman for her debut live performance of “Cowboy Like Me,” from Swift’s chart-topping 2020 album, Evermore.

See below for all the celebrities who have made appearances at Swift’s The Eras tour stops, either in the audience or on stage, which we’ll be updating as the 12-time Grammy winner makes her way across the continent.

HAIM

Swift’s “No Body, No Crime” collaborators, “Bejeweled” music video co-stars and besties HAIM were one of the first celebs spotted at The Eras tour, jamming along to the superstar’s many hits and dancing the night away on opening night.

See them via a video shared by People here. The sibling trio is also set to open for Swift later in the tour.

Emma Stone

The La La Land actress was just as much of a Swiftie as the rest of the Glendale crowd when she was spotted belting her heart out to the Fearless hit, “Love Story.”

Marcus Mumford

The Mumford and Sons frontman joined his longtime friend Swift onstage to perform Evermore‘s “Cowboy Like Me” in Las Vegas.

“Last night in Vegas Marcus Mumford showed up and surprised the crowd with ‘Cowboy Like Me’ so like [mind blown emojis],” Swift captioned a photo of the moment on Instagram. See the post here.

Chloë Grace Moretz

Like Stone, Moretz was loving the “Love Story” part of the show in Las Vegas.

Emma Stone

The Harry Potter star was seen having the time of her life with Este Haim, dancing during the Vegas tour stop.

Diplo

“I kinda know the lyrics,” the DJ wrote on his Instagram Stories while dancing along to “Anti-Hero” in Las Vegas. He also confirmed that he’s a “motherf—ing Swiftie now.”

Shania Twain

Shania Twain is all about the girl power, and the “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” superstar had the time of her life dancing to the 1989 single “Blank Space” in Vegas. “What a show,” she wrote on Instagram.

Laura Dern

After taking her family to opening night of The Eras tour, Swift’s “Bejeweled” co-star took to Instagram to share a snap smiling with the superstar. “Celebrating our amazing buddy’s first show of tour. Extraordinary. Found family,” she captioned the post, which you can see here.

Emma Roberts

Yes, yet another Emma was at The Eras’ Vegas stop, as she was spotted taking videos and dancing with sunglasses on to the tune of “Style.”

Ellen Pompeo

Another “Blank Space” fan is Ellen Pompeo’s daughter Sienna, who starred in her mother’s Instagram Stories singing along to the track in Las Vegas.

Flavor Flav proved he’s the ultimate Swiftie at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Monday night (March 27), where he took a now-viral selfie with Taylor Swift.

Billboard‘s Tetris Kelly caught up with the “Fight the Power” rapper on the red carpet before the show, where he revealed just how big of a fan he is. “Love me some Taylor Swift, man, always did,” Flav proclaimed, before opening up his green puffer jacket to reveal a white t-shirt featuring the popular lyrics from Swift’s Evermore track, “Willow”: “I come back stronger than a 90’s trend.” He even captioned his Instagram post with Swift using the same lyric.

Flav then doubled-down on his love for the Midnights superstar, revealing his iced-out chain of a clock with its hands pointing at, of course, midnight. “I heard that Taylor Swift keeps her clock on 12, just like mine,” he explained. “The reason why I keep my clock on 12 is because 12 o’clock points straight up. Every day, I’m straight up with you.”

Swift was honored with the Innovator Award later in the evening at the ceremony. “The thing about these exciting nights and moments and especially this award, they’re shining a light on the choices I made that worked out, that turned out to be good ideas,” she said during her acceptance speech. “I want everyone to know — especially young people — that the hundreds and thousands of dumb ideas that I had led me to my good ideas. You have to give yourself permission to fail. I try as hard as I can not to fail because it’s embarrassing, but I give myself permission to.

“Make the right choices that make sense for you and someone one day might thing you’re innovative.”

Emily Ratajkowski made headlines back in January when she commented on a TikTok featuring a 2012 Ellen DeGeneres interview with Taylor Swift, in which the “All Too Well” superstar is visibly and outspokenly uncomfortable as the host has her react to various photographs of herself with male celebrities.

“This is so f—ed up. She’s literally begging her to stop,” Ratajkowski commented on the clip, in which Swift is seen telling DeGeneres, “Stop it, stop it, stop! This makes me feel so bad about myself,” before adding, “Every time I come up here, you put a different dude up there on the screen, and it just makes me really question what I stand for as a human being.”

In a new interview with Elle, the High Low podcast host reflected on how she felt watching the TikTok clip. “I recently became a Swiftie. I loved her last album and I’ve seen her documentary, but I wasn’t following her career in the same way the last 10-plus years,” Ratajkowski explained. “Watching that [interview], I was so struck by how clear she’s being about what is making her uncomfortable. I think the lens that I would’ve viewed that interview from 10 years ago versus now has evolved so much, which is why it struck me. I was in bed falling asleep and commented on it, not because I thought it was going to make headlines at all.”

She continued that Swift is “another example of a woman who has been faced with such blatant misogyny and sexism, and yet we don’t want to admit that, because she’s powerful and successful, and also she’s white.”

“There’s a bunch of reasons, which I think are fair and important to also bring up in the conversation, but that clip in particular was just so striking to me because she was communicating very clearly about why she didn’t feel comfortable with what was happening,” Ratajkowski concluded. “And it was making everyone laugh. It actually upset me. And I think that just even that speaks to a larger thing I’ve noticed, where people don’t listen to femme-presenting people.”

Taylor Swift took a brief break from her blockbuster The Eras Tour on Monday night (March 27), popping by Los Angeles’ Dolby Theater for the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards to accept the Innovator Award.
Phoebe Bridgers presented the award to her “Nothing New” collaborator, explaining how hearing a young Swift singing her own songs on country radio when she was growing up is what inspired her to become an autobiographical songwriter.

“I was listening to country radio one day with my mom and Taylor came on,” Bridgers said. “I heard a girl not much older than me singing a song she had written about her own life and the song was really good. As I grew up, so did Taylor, and so did her songs.

“Taylor has always told the truth,” Bridgers added. “She has always written songs about exactly where she is. I’m grateful to have grown up in a world with Taylor Swift in it. Or ‘The World (Taylor’s Version).’”

Before Swift took the stage, a video montage played of her famous friends and fans — including Selena Gomez (“She can represent what she’s walking through so well”) and Dolly Parton (“We wanna keep you around forever”) — singing Swift’s praises.

“Anyone who is part of that video, that video really blew my mind,” Swift said, before launching into her speech and marveling at being labeled an “Innovator.”

“I never a single time woke up in the morning and said, ‘You know what I’m gonna do today? I’m gonna innovate stuff,’” she said. “What I did do was make the right decisions for me. People want an example of something working before, but I think the coolest ideas, moves and choices are new ones, ones that set a new precedent. I’m so thankful because my fans have backed me up on things like switching genres or re-recording all my old music.

“The thing about these exciting nights and moments and especially this award, they’re shining a light on the choices I made that worked out, that turned out to be good ideas,” she added.

The Eras Tour continues this weekend at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, where MUNA and GAYLE will open Friday night and beabadoobee and Gracie Adams open Saturday night. Bridgers will join The Eras Tour as a warm-up act starting with the Nashville dates in May.
