Super Bowl

OMG! Usher‘s forgotten he’s performing at the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show in Uber Eats’ new commercial for the Big Game, which dropped on Tuesday (Feb. 6).
The star-studded spot kicks off with Friends star Jennifer Aniston receiving an Uber Eats order from an assistant, who was surprised at all the various items — flowers and lotion, for example — the service can deliver. “You know what they say: ‘In order to remember something, you gotta forget something else,’” the Emmy-winning star shares, before pointing to her head and noting, “Make a little room!”

From there, a range of people erase a little knowledge to keep Uber Eats in mind, including David and Victoria Beckham. “Remember when you used to be a pepper lady?” the soccer star asks Posh, who’s in a white “David’s Wife” T-shirt.

“Wasn’t it the Cinnamon Sisters?” she wonders, before the athlete offers up “Basil Babes,” and the designer-singer suggests “Paprika Girls” instead, to which David answers, “No! That’s absurd!”

As Billboard previously exclusively shared in a teaser, Uber Eats’ ad also features country star Jelly Roll forgetting he has face tattoos. “Did someone doodle on my face?!” the “Son of a Sinner” singer asks, horrified, when he see his reflection in a mirror. As he tries to rub the ink off, he screams, “It’s not coming off!”

At the end of the ad — after Aniston has forgotten major period of her life (and a very good Friend) — the eight-time Grammy winner chills with his Uber Eats meal and says wistfully to his two horrified stagehands backstage, “I hope I get to play a halftime show someday, man.”

Fortunately for Usher, that wish is coming true much sooner rather than later. The R&B icon is set to headline the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sunday (Feb. 11). The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers will face off in the NFL’s championship game beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET.

With a chance to win the NFL’s biggest prize, and doing so with Taylor Swift at his side, Travis Kelce is a guy with it all going for him. The football star’s good fortune doesn’t end there; he’s had a preview of Swift’s forthcoming album, The Tortured Poets Department, which he critiques as “unbelievable” and world-beating.

During her night of domination at the 2024 Grammy Awards at Crypto.com Arena on Sunday (Feb. 4) in Los Angeles, where she made history by collecting a fourth career album of the year award, Swift surprised everyone in the room – and the millions watching on around the world – when she announced The Tortured Poets Department, her 11th studio album.

Kelce, as you would expect, has had a listen. “I have heard some of it yes and it’s unbelievable. I can’t wait for her to shake up the world when it finally drops,” he told “Extra’s” Jenny Taft on the field at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII Opening Night.

The 34-year-old tight end reacted to his girlfriend’s bumper Grammys, where she extended her career tally to 14 wins, remarking, “She’s unbelievable, she’s re-writing the history books herself. I told her, ‘I’ll have to hold up my end of the bargain and bring home some hardware too.’”

Whatever happens this weekend, the Swifties’ support has been a fun experience, Kelce explains. “I just go out there and have fun,” he says. “Taylor has an unbelievable fan base that follows her and supports her throughout her life. It’s been fun to gather the Swifties into the Chiefs kingdom and open them up to the football world.”

The 6’5″ athlete has a chance to book-end a glittering week for the power couple when his Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers on Feb. 11 for the Super Bowl.

Swift used the platform of the Grammys to give fans a jaw-drop moment. “This is my 13th Grammy – which is my lucky number, I don’t know if I’ve ever told you that,” she quipped from the podium as she won the Grammy for best pop vocal album. “I want to say thank you to the members of the Recording Academy for voting this way. I know the way the Recording Academy voted is a direct reflection of the passion of the fans. So I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand new album comes out April 19. It’s called The Tortured Poets Department. I’m gonna go and post the cover right now backstage. Thank you, I love you.”

The Tortured Poets Department is scheduled to arrive on April 19.

What a feeling to have good WiFi! Usher is sharing more details about his upcoming halftime show performance at Super Bowl LVIII.
During an interview with Good Morning America on Friday (Feb. 2), the 45-year-old R&B star said that he plans to use the opportunity on football’s biggest night to pay homage to Black artists who came before him and helped pave the way for his successful career in music.

“I think about what our country has kind of represented for Black artists, you know, having to at some point go through kitchens to even be able to perform for an audience, but they had to leave back through that same door, fear for their lives as they went to the next state to do the same thing,” Usher told reporter Kelley Carter.

The “My Boo” singer added, “So I’m coming through the front door with this one.”

The hitmaker also noted that he remembered his friends and mentors who have supported him over the decades when planning his upcoming halftime show performance.

“I didn’t start where I am now, and I didn’t get there by myself,” he said. “So, everybody that has been a part of it, I’m carrying them with me. All of my fans, my loved ones, the people who may have felt like they have been forgotten, they haven’t. I’m carrying you right with me when I walk on that stage that night.”

Usher will perform during the Super Bowl Halftime Show presented by Apple Music on Feb. 11, when the Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Ahead of the big game, the R&B star will release his new album, Coming Home, on Feb. 9. The project serves as his ninth studio album, and it’s his first released independently. It’s a star-studded affair across the 20 tracks, as he’s recruited Latto, Burna Boy, 21 Savage, The-Dream, H.E.R., Summer Walker and BTS’ Jung Kook to join him on the journey.

“I put a lot of heart and time into making sure that this was curated right. Something that felt like this next chapter of my life. It’s the next frontier, the next chapter of my legacy,” the “Love in This Club” singer said of the album in a recent interview with Club Shay Shay.

Ahead of Coming Home, Usher dropped another single on Friday (Feb. 2) with the Afrobeats-tinged “Ruin.”

FanDuel is teaming up with Spotify this year for its annual Super Bowl party, with Calvin Harris and Kid Cudi announced as the headliners, Billboard can exclusively announce.
The 2024 FanDuel Super Bowl Party Powered by Spotify — which will be held at LIV inside the Strip’s newest resort, Fontainebleau Las Vegas, on Friday night, Feb. 9 — is the company’s third annual Super Bowl event and will feature a live recording of The Ringer Gambling Show podcast with hosts John “JJ” Jastremski, Raheem Palmer and “Cousin Sal” Iacono.

Last month, Calvin Harris broke the record for the most No. 1s in the 20-year history of Billboard’s Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, as his Eliza Rose collaboration “Body Moving” rose to the top of the ranking dated Jan. 13. He earned his 14th Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart-topper, breaking out of a tie with David Guetta. On Jan. 12, Kid Cudi released his ninth studio album, Insano, which features collabs with Travis Scott, ASAP Rocky, Lil Yachty, Pharrell Williams, the late XXXTentacion, Lil Wayne and Young Thug. The project debuted at No. 4 on the Top Rap Albums chart dated Jan. 27.

Since 2021, FanDuel has been the exclusive sports betting partner of Spotify sports and pop culture podcast network The Ringer. This Super Bowl party further cements the two companies’ partnership, which expanded in 2023 to encompass content produced for FanDuel TV, including the shows Beyond the Arc with Kevin O’Connor and Through The Ringer with Tate Frazier.

The event comes just two days before Super Bowl LVIII at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium on Sunday (Feb. 11), where the Kansas City Chiefs will take on the San Francisco 49ers for the championship. It was announced in September that Usher would headline the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show. Usher also announced that his ninth album, Coming Home, will arrive on Super Bowl Sunday. This set marks his first new album since 2016’s Hard II Love, which peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200.

Cardi B is coming to a screen near you – and you best believe her lips will be shiny and plump. NYX announced Thursday (Feb. 1) that the rapper will star in its Super Bowl ad on game day, promoting one of the brand’s latest lip products in what will mark her first ever beauty […]

Make it so! It’s Sir Patrick Stewart to the rescue with a little bit of help from Creed in Paramount+‘s 2024 Super Bowl ad, which arrived on Thursday (Feb. 1).
In the streamer’s third Super Bowl ad, Stewart, who is known for portraying Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Picard — along with a host of other stars whose shows can be seen on Paramount+, including Drew Barrymore (The Drew Barrymore Show), Jeff Probst (Survivor), Arnold (Hey Arnold!) and Peppa Pig — find themselves stuck in a snow-covered canyon on Paramount Mountain. That’s when the boss of the USS Enterprise steps up to try to save the day.

When Barrymore shoots down Stewart’s idea to throw Arnold and his football-shaped head to the top of the cliff, the actor snipes in his impeccable English accent, “Barrymore! Shut your face … unless you prefer to freeze to death!”

“I’m not gonna throw a kid,” Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa insists.

That’s when Stewart takes matters into his own hands. He rips off his warm winter coat to reveal the old-school football uniform and declares he’ll throw Arnold himself. The music kicks in, and the camera pans over to none other than Creed, who are ready to rock out on a small ledge.

The Star Trek star then picks up Arnold as if the animated character were a football, and starts to mix up his sports. “We need a hole in one before the seventh stretch,” he says. As Creed frontman Scott Stapp begins to belt out the chorus to the band’s Billboard Hot 100 hit (it peaked at No. 7 in 2000), Stewart makes the throw — and begins singing along with Stapp.

“I just threw him hiiiigher,” the celebrated actor croons, “to a place where we won’t freeze.” (And that’s when a well-placed “Creed” tattoo makes its appearance!)

Arnold also joins in on the song, singing, “He just threw me hiii–” and slams face first into the side of the cliff. Watch the full Paramount+ Super Bowl ad above.

Son of a …! Jelly Roll‘s not too happy when he realizes he has a lot of permanent art on his face in Uber Eats’ 2024 Super Bowl ad, and Billboard has a first look at the “Need a Favor” singer’s spot set to debut on game day (Feb. 11). In the 15-second teaser, the […]
