No, Daft Punk Is Not Performing at the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony

While the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympics often bring out the biggest musical stars of the Games’ host country, Daft Punk will not be among the French artists performing at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Yesterday, French outlet Le Parisien published a story saying that the duo had been contacted about getting involved in the Games’ opening ceremony, and that discussions with the pair had begun several months ago.

This story cites a France Inter conversation with Thomas Jolly, the artistic director of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. It in, Jolly said, “It would be very happy for them to be in this ceremony. We cannot not think of Daft Punk when we think at an international exhibition in France.” But later in the interview, he stated with a laugh that “I lied a little about Daft Punk.”

But in fact, a Daft Punk Olympics performance is not to be, as a representative for the duo confirmed to Billboard today (Oct. 25), that “this is just a rumor and not factual.”

Tres sad, to be sure, but there is new Daft Punk material on the horizon. On Nov. 17, the duo — who officially broke up in 2021 — will release a “drumless” edition of their 2013 album Random Access Memories as part of the album’s 10-year anniversary celebration. As the concept indicates, this new version will feature the original album, stripped of its percussion.

The 10-year anniversary has also included an interview series, Memory Tapes, with album collaborators including Julian Casablancas, Nile Rodgers and Pharrell.

The Paris Olympics, meanwhile, take place next summer, from July 26 to Aug. 11, 2024.

Alex Rodriguez Jokes He ‘Certainly Can’t’ Give Travis Kelce Advice on Dating Taylor Swift

Alex Rodriguez knows a thing or two about dating a major star, but that doesn’t mean he has advice on the matter.

The former New York Yankees athlete sat down with People this week, when he was asked if he has anything to share with Travis Kelce amid his budding romance with Taylor Swift — as A-Rod was previously engaged to a fellow superstar, Jennifer Lopez. “I certainly can’t give anyone advice about that,” Rodriguez joked of dating in the limelight.

“For me, of all the things that I’ve been able to experience in my life, there’s nothing [else] besides the birth of both of my girls,” A-Rod told People of his current priorities.

Rodriguez and Lopez first began dating in 2017 and revealed their engagement in 2019. They spent the first part of the pandemic at home with their blended family, made up of the “On the Floor” singer’s twins Maximilian “Max” David and Emme Maribel — whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony — and Rodriguez’s daughters Ella and Natasha with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis. In 2021, the couple announced that they’d broken off their engagement, issuing a joint statement to Today, noting that they “realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so.”

The Marry Me star has since rekindled an old romance and tied the knot with Ben Affleck, while Rodriguez is currently dating Canadian fitness instructor Jaclyn Cordeiro.

Travis Kelce Reacts to Stats Showing He Plays Better When Taylor Swift Attends His Games

Taylor Swift is to Travis Kelce as the number 13 is to her: a good luck charm.

As proven by recent statistics aired by CBS Sports Sunday (Oct. 22) at the Chiefs vs. Chargers game, the Kansas City tight end plays significantly better when his new love interest — who just so happens to be one of the biggest superstars in the world — is in attendance. And on the latest episode of his New Heights podcast, Kelce himself reacted to the revealing numbers.

“‘Left to his own devices,” he began, reading the text on CBS’ graphic, which hilariously referenced lyrics from Swift’s “Anti-Hero.” “Well put, well put.”

Per the network, Kelce averages 99 receiving yards at games attended by the 12-time Grammy winner, who has so far been spotted at four Chiefs matches. And when she’s not there? The athlete’s average dips to just 46.5 yards.

“Hard for me to wrap my head around that sentence,” Kelce added.

Coincidence or not, Kelce isn’t the only one who’s noticed that Swift seems to have a positive effect on his performance. Kansas City Coach Andy Reid joked at a Sunday post-game press conference that “Kelce keeps getting better with time — Taylor can stay around all she wants.”

After his brother and co-host, Eagles center Jason Kelce, read out Reid’s comments, Travis said, “I love Coach Reid, man, what a guy. Listen, when you’re getting Big Red’s approval and blessings, you know you’re doing something right.”

Swift also recently got praise from the Kelce brothers’ father, Ed Kelce, who raved that she’s a “very, very sweet, very charming, down-to-earth young woman.” “She gets up to go get a drink or something and she starts picking up empty bottles, cans, plates that are scattered around,” the patriarch added of the “Karma” singer, who was at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday to watch Kansas City’s victory over Los Angeles. “I don’t think she got the diva memo.”

Jason Kelce Is ‘Really Happy’ About Brother Travis’ Romance With Taylor Swift, But He Has Concerns

Jason Kelce is just like any other big brother: simultaneously supportive and protective of his younger sibling. In a recent interview, the Eagles offensive lineman opened up about his feelings regarding Travis Kelce‘s blooming romance with Taylor Swift, revealing he feels both happy and concerned for his baby bro.

“On one hand, I’m happy for my brother that he seems to be in a relationship that he’s excited about, that he is genuine about,” Jason told NBC Sports’ Peter King in a conversation published Monday (Oct. 23). “But there’s another end of it where it’s like, ‘Man, this is a lot.’”

The Philly star also touched on the media’s unrelenting obsession with Travis now that the Chiefs tight end is dating one of the biggest superstars in the world, be it the NFL‘s much criticized Swift-centric coverage or the now-constant paparazzi on Travis’ tail.

“There’s paparazzi talking about him fueling his car before the game today and I’m like, ‘Is that really necessary information to share?’” Jason continued. “This is another level of stardom that typically football players don’t deal with. And so on one hand, really, really happy for my brother and where he’s at in his current situation with Taylor, but on the other hand, there’s some, I think, alarms sometimes with how you know, over-in-pursuit people can be.”

“Overall, he can deal with some of this,” he added. “As long as it’s not, you know, becoming a threat to his safety and things like that.”

Jason’s comments come at the end of a week of “firsts” for Swift and the Kansas City player. The “Anti-Hero” singer and New Heights podcaster were photographed holding hands for the first time as they arrived at SNL afterparty for the season premiere Oct. 15; then, after Sunday’s (Oct. 22) Chiefs game against the Los Angeles Chargers, Swift is seen kissing the younger Kelce on the cheek in a photo shared by Chariah Gordon, who is dating Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman.

Here’s How Travis Kelce Reacted to Being Called Taylor Swift’s ‘Boyfriend’

Is Travis Kelce officially Taylor Swift‘s boyfriend? Fans seem to think so after seeing a now-viral TikTok of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end reacting to the label.

In a video shared by user @jeffjulian, Kelce is buttoning his shirt after his football game on Sunday (Oct. 22), when a fan shouts, “Let’s go, Taylor’s boyfriend!” In response, the football star raises his hand in a fist above his head, as one does when they’ve won something. See the TikTok video here.

While Swift and Kelce have not publicly confirmed the status of their budding romance, the “Anti-Hero” singer and the athlete were seen interlocking fingers once again as they left Sunday’s Chiefs vs. Chargers game. Earlier in the day, Kelce assisted the Chiefs in defeating Los Angeles 31-17 at Arrowhead Stadium, which Swift watched from a private box suite with Brittany Mahomes, wife of KC quarterback Patrick Mahomes, all while wearing a No. 87 friendship bracelet. Sunday’s game marks the fourth Chiefs match attended by the 12-time Grammy winner this season.

Swift was also spotted giving Kelce a kiss on the cheek in an Instagram photo posted by wide receiver Mecole Hardman’s girlfriend Chiarah Gordon on Monday (Oct. 23), adding fuel to the fire of relationship rumors between the two superstars.

It’s been an exciting week for Swift, whose “Cruel Summer” hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 songs chart dated Oct. 28, 2023. The song, which previously peaked at No. 3, was originally released on Swift’s 2019 Republic Records album Lover.

Taylor Swift Kisses Travis Kelce in New Photo

Taylor Swift’s got that red lip, classic thing that Travis Kelce likes — and that’s why she planted a kiss on the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s cheek.

In a new Instagram photo posted by wide receiver Mecole Hardman’s girlfriend Chiarah Gordon on Monday (Oct. 23), the couple is seen smiling and posing with Swift and Kelce. However, in the second photo of the carousel, the “Lavender Haze” singer is seen planting a kiss on the tight end’s cheek. See the photos here.

While this is the first kiss we’ve seen between the rumored couple, the duo have been seen holding hands frequently over the past few weeks, most recently after the Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Chargers game on Sunday night (Oct. 22). Swift and Kelce were interlocking fingers as they left Arrowhead Stadium, marking the fourth Chiefs match attended by the 12-time Grammy winner this season. For the occasion, she rocked a Chiefs sweater and represented Kelce with a a No. 87 friendship bracelet.

Last weekend, Swift and Kelce held hands in New York City on their way to the Oct. 14 Saturday Night Live after party, shortly after the two made surprise cameos on the show’s season 49 premiere. The next day, they grabbed dinner at a restaurant in the West Village, hand-in-hand again.

Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce Leave Chiefs vs. Chargers Game Holding Hands

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce got big reputations for holding hands. A week after the couple was first spotted hand-in-hand at the Saturday Night Live afterparty, the “Anti-Hero” singer and Kansas City tight end were once again interlocking fingers as they left the Chiefs vs. Chargers game Sunday (Oct. 22).

The sweet moment came after Kelce assisted the Chiefs in defeating Los Angeles 31-17 at Arrowhead Stadium, which Swift watched from a private box suite with Brittany Mahomes, wife of KC quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The pop star later exited the venue with the New Heights podcaster at her side, the pair matching in red shirts (and Swift wearing a No. 87 friendship bracelet).

Sunday’s game marks the fourth Chiefs match attended by the 12-time Grammy winner this season, and the third home game she’s shown up to in support of her new beau’s team. Earlier this month, she appeared at an away game against the Jets in New York City, arriving to MetLife Stadium with a fleet of celebrity friends including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Sophie Turner and Hugh Jackman.

Last weekend, Swift and Kelce all but confirmed their long-rumored romance by holding hands on their way to the Oct. 14 SNL afterparty, shortly after the two made surprise cameos on the show’s season 49 premiere. The next day, they grabbed dinner at a restaurant in the West Village, hand-in-hand again.

“I feel like whenever I’m on a date, I’m always having the sense that I’m a man in the situation,” Kelce recently said on New Heights of his outings with Swift. “I’m protective, yeah, for sure. You always have to have that feeling or self-awareness.”

The Chiefs faced off against the Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium.

Swift was all smiles and dressed in a Chiefs sweatshirt, clapping and dancing with Mahomes during the game. When they were caught on camera doing some kind of secret handshake early in the game, the NFL tweeted, “Not the handshake!!” with the crying-laughing emoji.

Swifties noticed that the pop star was wearing a very personalized friendship bracelet at the game — featuring Kelce’s number, 87.

Earlier in the day, Swift was pictured in selfies with former NFL quarterback Bernie Kosar, who shared the snapshots on his Instagram account.

“Watching the Browns game with @taylorswift pre KC game,” Kosar captioned the pics.

Last weekend, Swift and Kelce presumably confirmed their budding relationship by arriving hand in hand for the Oct. 14 Saturday Night Live after-party, after making separate surprise cameos on that night’s Pete Davidson-hosted episode.

NFL Celebrates ‘National Tight Ends Day’ With Rap Video Featuring Travis Kelce, George Kittle & More

It’s time to celebrate your favorite tight end, as Sunday (Oct. 22) is the NFL‘s National Tight Ends Day.

National Tight Ends Day first started in 2019 after San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle was caught in a mic’d-up segment making a joke about tight ends having their own a holiday — and he got his wish, as it’s now celebrated every fourth Sunday in October.

This year, Kittle took his goal for tight end appreciation a step further by recruiting his 49ers teammates Christian McCaffrey, Ross Dwelley, Charlie Woerner and Kyle Juszczyk for a hilarious National Tight Ends Day music video featuring all five athletes hanging out in a convertible — with Kittle at the wheel — to sing about the importance that tight ends hold in the NFL.

“We move/ We pivot/ We catch, pass and we hit it/ Just cruise/ No gimmicks/ We’re the tight ends, let’s get it,” they sing in the hook, as various tight ends from the NFL flash across the screen.

In a post shared across the NFL’s social media channels, the league wrote alongside the cheeky music video: “Your favorite player’s favorite holiday… #NationalTightEndsDay is officially back. Let’s get it.”

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce makes a few cameos in the clip, strutting confidently through the tunnel and busting out one of his signature celebration dances. Kelce is one of the most notable tight ends in the league right now, winning two Super Bowls with the Chiefs, starring in countless commercials, and dominating the headlines over the past month-plus due to his budding relationship with pop superstar Taylor Swift.
