Neil Young is taking a stand against Elon Musk. On Monday (Nov. 20), the rock icon revealed that he will no longer be supporting X, formerly known as Twitter, and urged Palestinian and Jewish people to band together in light of the war between Israel and Hamas.
“We are stopping all use of X that we can control,” Young wrote in a statement posted to his website. “For reasons that should be obvious to the richest man on Earth, we are taking action against his company.” The post featured an image of Musk with the text “Tesla should fly flags of love, not hate” written over the billionaire’s face.
The statement continued, “For our many Palestinian friends and our many Jewish friends, we do need to start over in the present and release our terrible connections to the past. As bad as they are, they need to be forgotten so we can be free to move on in life together, all humanity, focused on saving our planet for future generations of all people.”
Young’s statement comes after the tech mogul approved of a Friday tweet that accused Jewish people facing antisemitism due to the Israel-Hammas war of furthering the “exact kind of dialectical hatred against whites that they claim to want people to stop using against them” and supporting “hordes of minorities” to become immigrants. Musk replied, “You have said the actual truth.”
“It is unacceptable to repeat the hideous lie behind the most fatal act of antisemitism in American history at any time, let alone one month after the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust,” Andrew Bates, a White House spokesman, said in response to Musk’s co-signing of the tweet.
On Sunday, Musk addressed his stance and explained “nothing could be further from the truth” with regards to him being antisemitic. “I wish only the best for humanity and a prosperous and exciting future for all.”
Last month, Young announced that he’ll release a new album, titled Before and After, on Dec. 8. The album will feature fresh takes on Young’s favorite lesser-known tracks from his songwriting vault, per a press release. “The feeling is captured, not in pieces, but as a whole piece — designed to be listened to that way. This music presentation defies shuffling, digital organization, separation. Only for listening. That says it all,” Young wrote in a statement.
In light of Cassie’s recent lawsuit against Diddy, Kesha is reassessing the lyrics of her breakout hit single “TiK ToK.” The 36-year-old musician, who is currently on her Only Love Tour, hit Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium on Saturday night and performed “TiK ToK” as the second song in her set. In the 2009 song’s opening […]

Hey, Elon Musk, do you hear those footsteps? Mark Zuckerberg and Instagram Threads are coming to put X out to pasture.
Slowly, Instagram Threads is becoming a legitimate replacement for Elon Musk’s awful platform X. Mark Zuckerberg has revealed that Meta’s answer to X is now testing hashtags and trending topics, two features Thread users have requested.
According to The Verge, hashtags on Threads don’t work exactly like those on other social media platforms. Using a hashtag on Threads creates or contributes to a conversation, but Threads converts it to a blue-text hyperlink instead of being a hashtag.
Before Threads launches the feature globally, Australia will be the first to try them out during a “limited test.”
When you type “#” into the post text field, a window containing the trending topic you’re looking for or others will appear. Underneath each topic, there will be a post count.

The website also notes that you can only add a single “hashtag” at a time, which is probably Thread’s way of stopping people from spamming posts with multiple hashtags for a better reach.
Meta notes it will continue to work on the feature, so the ability to add more than one hashtag can eventually be available.
This latest feature is one of the many improvements Meta has brought to Threads, like the ability to keep your Threads posts off of Facebook and Instagram plus pinned posts.
There is also a dedicated GIF button as well.
The casket is almost at the bottom for X.

Amid an ongoing battle with Stiff-Person Syndrome, Celine Dion has made her first public appearance in more than three years by attending an NHL game at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Monday night.
The “My Heart Will Go On” singer attended the game — a face-off between her hometown team, the Montreal Canadiens, and the Las Vegas Golden Knights — with her three sons, 22-year-old René-Charles and 13-year-old twins Eddy and Nelson. Following the game, the hitmaker spoke with the Canadiens team, giving them advice on how to persevere and maintain their health, in addition to shaking hands and posing for photos.
The team shared a video of them meeting with Dion to its Instagram page on Tuesday, along with the caption, “When Quebec emblems meet in Las Vegas…”
Fans in the comments section were delighted to see the 57-year-old looking lively and in good spirits. “God we missed her so so bad!! So glad to finally see you again Queen @celinedion!!” one fan wrote, while another user added, “Celine it’s a magic to see you again finally! Stay strong and healthy! We miss you so badly!!!”
The five-time Grammy winner’s appearance comes after she revealed in December 2022 her diagnosis of Stiff-Person Syndrome, a rare condition marked by uncontrolled and severe muscle spasms that affects one in a million individuals.
“As you know, I’ve always been an open book. And I wasn’t ready to say anything before,” she said a Dec. 8 video. “But I’m ready now… ’I’ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time, and it’s been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything that I’ve been going through.”
After explaining her symptoms and how her team came to the conclusion of her diagnosis, Dion added, “Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life. Sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I’m used to. I have to admit it’s been a struggle. All I know is singing, it’s what I’ve done all my life.”
As a result, Dion’s 2023 tour dates were either canceled or pushed back to 2024.

Lana Del Rey saw double this past Halloweekend, as she ran into a fan dressed like her.
Makeup artist Sandy Ganzer dressed up as the pop star working a shift at Waffle House — as she memorably did in Alabama over the summer, which went viral on social media — in an equal-parts hilarious and serendipitous moment at a Halloween party.
Ganzer spilled the details of her meeting the “Summertime Sadness” singer via Instagram on Monday (Oct. 30).
“Waffle House employee shirt purchased on Ebay: $28.60. Pepsi bottle and fun little straw purchased last minute at CVS: $9. Waffle House ‘Lana’ name tag sticker: $5.59. Attending a halloween party dressed as ‘Lana Del Rey kicking it at Waffle House’ and she’s there in real life: Priceless,” Ganzer captioned the post, which featured her and the six-time Grammy nominee posing together, plus her solo in the costume. “Thank you for having a sense of humor about it @honeymoon, you’re a Queen. *first two photos taken by the Queen herself.”
While Ganzer didn’t share how she ran into Del Rey, she is a celebrity makeup artist who has created looks for Hunter Schafer, Phoebe Bridgers, Kesha, Paris Hilton, Kendall Jenner and more.
Del Rey explained how she ended up working at an Alabama Waffle House in her September feature in The Hollywood Reporter. “We were on our third hour, and the servers asked, ‘Do you guys want shirts?’ ” she recalled. “Hell yeah! We were thrilled.” She even remembered a notable customer: “This guy, a regular, comes in every day and orders two things, so they were like, ‘Just go get it for him!’ I brought him a Coke. No ice. And an empty cup.”
The response to Del Rey’s Waffle House photos caught her off guard, she revealed. “I wish my album had gone as viral. I woke up to, like, 10,000 texts the next morning — some from folks I had not heard from for 10 years,” Del Rey said. “’Saw your picture at the Waffle House!’ I was like, ‘Did you hear the new album?’”

As Britney Spears gears up for the release of her debut memoir The Woman in Me, her breakthrough hit, “…Baby One More Time,” just hit a major milestone. The track turned 25 on Monday (Oct. 23) and was celebrated on Instagram by its producer, Max Martin, who shared how it changed the trajectory of both his and Spears’ career, as well as pop music as a whole.

“On October 23, 1998, @britneyspears released her debut single ‘…Baby One More Time’ in the U.S.A, the pop classic that became No 1 in every country where it was released, and that launched Britney’s career as an international pop icon,” Martin wrote, captioning a series of images from Spears’ debut era.
He continued, “After exactly 25 years to the day, so much has been said about this masterpiece of a song — the artists who could have recorded it, its controversial lyrics, its iconic music video, the record-breaking sales figures, how much it has changed the landscape of pop music and defined a new era, and so on. So this time, I wanted to celebrate ‘…Baby One More Time’ for what it is, that is a pure piece of art and 3:30 minutes of sonic bliss.”
As evidenced by the song’s two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, the Swedish record producer added that “‘Baby’ is one of these songs that you just can’t ignore, whether you are a pop music lover or not,” and proceeded to give an eight-part review of the song as if he listened to it for the first time. In his review, the hitmaker gushed over the song’s sad undertones and delighted over its little moments, like Spears’ vocal runs at 0:27 (“Go oh oh-oOoOh”), and said it was “a reminder so much fun is around the corner even if the lyrics seem sad at first listen.” Of the then-budding star’s “cooing,” Martin called Spears’ inflections “pure pop heaven.”
“…Baby One More Time,” as Martin noted, singlehandedly launched Spears’ career as a pop star. Propelled in part by the success of its single of the same name, the …Baby One More Time album enjoyed six weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and spent nearly two years (103 weeks) on the chart.
