Snoop Dogg is looking to do more than give out Death Row chains since acquiring the iconic music label. He is teaming up with his son, Cordell Broadus, to help put minority creators and gamers on the map.

Spotted on HypeBeast, the iconic Hip-Hop star and his seed are working together to give minority creators and artists a platform to develop and publish on Fortnite using the company’s Unreal Editor.
Broadus made the dope announcement while speaking at AFROTECH.
Per HypeBeast:

“We’ve been creating games, and none of them has been published anything on a huge scale, but on a very amateur level,” Broadus told AFROTECH. “We’ve been around games for the last five to six years. And Snoop, he’s done mobile games. A few of them in the past five to six years in apps and stuff like that. So we’ve always had the mindset of building it on our own.”

He added, “We felt like let’s really put resources into building Death Row Games and making a home for diverse creators in the gaming ecosystem and be a part of the narrative, the storytelling of what the next game should be looking like. And I keep saying ‘show representation of the culture in these sectors,’ versus us just being the talent. We wanted to make sure that we’re part of the decision that’s being made and more importantly tell these stories from diverse creators and focus on creatives in underserved communities.

Calvin Broadus Is Excited To Work With His Dad

“I think it’s dope for a father and a son to be working together for one, and for two he’s 51 years old. So he may be out of touch with some of these things.” He continued, “And I’m always there to keep him up to speed and translate information to him in a tone that he can understand. I think that’s more important… but just as much as I’m giving him game he’s given me the keys to make these decisions with a IP as big as his.”

Salute to both of them. We hope Death Row Gaming accomplishes its mission by opening the doors for Black and Brown creators in the video game space.

How many kills can you rack up with 21 Savage in Call of Duty? A LOT, now that his skin is available in Call of Duty and Warzone.

Launching Tuesday morning, Sir 21 Savage will bring some catchy adlibs and his finishing move hilarious named “Stabbed . . . a Lot,” a play on his single “A Lot” off his 2018 album, I Am > I Was.
Per the Call of Duty blog, 21 Savage’s arrival will feature the Tracer Pack: 21 Savage Bundle that will include two weapon blueprints named after two of his popular songs, the “Savage Mode” Assault Rifle and the “Red Opps” SMG.
For his secondary weapon, 21 Savage is armed with his “Slaughter King” melee tool, and the bundle will also include the “Skrrt Skrrt” UTV Vehicle Skin, a Charm, a Sticker, and, of course, a “Mr. Right Now” Loading Screen.

Sir Savage joins Snoop Dogg and Nicki Minaj in Call of Duty’s celebration of Hip-Hop’s 50th anniversary, but they are not the only cool additions coming to the game.

Let it never be said that actor and West Coast Hip-Hop legend Snoop Dogg doesn’t stand with the people against the greedy corporate executives who take advantage of them to further line their already bloated pockets.

According to Digital Music News, the Doggystyle rapper has canceled his plans to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his debut album with two concerts at the Hollywood Bowl. Why have the two concerts been postponed indefinitely? Because Snoop is a good man and he is standing in solidarity with the unionized actors and writers participating in the SAG-AFTRA strike.

“We regret to inform you that due to the ongoing strike and the uncertainty of when this will be over, we need to cancel the Hollywood Bowl show,” Snoop announced via Instagram. “We continue to stand in solidarity with all of our brothers and sisters in the WGA and SAG/AFTRA during this difficult time and remain hopeful that AMPTP will come back to the negotiating table with a REAL proposal so we can all get back to work.”

Meanwhile, fans who have already paid their coins for the pair of concerts, which had already been previously postponed in solidarity with the writers’ strike, will have to wait to find out when their money will be refunded. It’s unclear whether other shows at the Hollywood Bowl will end up on the chopping block because a bunch of wealthy Hollywood execs would rather use AI tech to replace actors than pay them what they’re worth.
From DHM:
The Hollywood Bowl concerts will see Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre team up with conductor Derrick Hodge and the ReCollective Orchestra to perform new renditions of Doggystyle tracks. Snoop and Dr. Dre also have plans to release a new album called Missionary later this year—it’s unclear whether those release plans are impacted or not. No information about ticket refunds has been provided.
So, basically, Hollywood greed is continuing to rob the world of art and trained artistry across genres—screenwriting, acting, and now music as well. It’s really a shame, but it’s heartwarming to see how Snoop Dogg and other celebrities are on the right side of history.

Respect.

The Canadian entertainment journalist known as Nardwuar the Human Serviette interviewed West Coast Hip-Hop legend Snoop Dogg for what he said was the 11th time in 23 years. This time, Nardwuar caught the “Drop it Like it’s Hop” rapper backstage while he was on the High School Reunion Tour with Too Short, Wiz Khalifa and more.

Early on during the interview, Nardwuar honored Snoop by presenting him with a “1969 original ‘Dick Gregory for President’ poster.
“Dick Gregory is a hell of a man,” Snoop said when asked to comment on the iconic activist, civil rights leader, author and comedian. “He told the truth, he stood up on everything he spoke for. He was a righteous man. He was in Vietnam…like my father was, so shout out to the Vietnam vets.”

After that, the two reminisced over past interviews and encounters they had and the impact those interactions had on social media, as well as the commemorative gifts they’ve received from celebrities, fans and each other.
About midway through the interview, Nardwaur asked Snoop about the various magazine covers he’s graced throughout his career, such as his front-page features on Vibe magazine and The Source. When asked about the classic Deathrow photo shoot with Vibe that featured himself, Suge Night, 2 Pac and Dr. Dre, Snoop said it “felt like a mafia movie,” and, well, yes—the Godfather vibes were real on that one.

You can watch the full interview below. It’s very wholesome.

Over the years, Tyrese hasn’t been shy about showcasing his vulnerability on social media and proving to be one of the most emotional celebrities in the game. Luckily for him, he has some celebrity homies who’ll take the time to reach out and offer him a shoulder to cry on.

On Thursday (May 25), Tyrese took to Instagram to share how Snoop Dogg came to his aid in his time of need and gave us more reason to love the Doggfather while also supporting Tyrese as he sails through turbulent waters. In the post that featured some audio from Snoop’s call, Tyrese wrote “I was depressed and posting my raw vulnerabilities online God knows I need this phone call from my big homie Snoop Dogg.”

In the audio, we hear Snoop offer up words on encouragement and understanding saying “See all these people that you naming? The record industry don’t respect them and don’t understand the fucking heavyweight shit that you dropping on this record.” Continuing to comfort him with words, Snoop explained, “This is mental health. This is relationships. This is all of the shit that the world is going through in one package, and my ni**a dealing with it, you actually dealing with it through the pain of this record. You’re gonna help somebody else learn how to live through pain and make that a beautiful pain.”

Anyone would be lucky to have a Snoop Dogg in their corner. Not just cause they’d have an exceptional weed connect or Skechers plug, but because the man seems to be the kind of person to look out for his homies on an emotional level, and those type of people don’t grow on trees.
“You my ni**a, cuz. I’m not gon’ never let you put your m*thafuckin’ head down and do nothing that ain’t appropriate. I’ma watch you from the sidelines, and then when God and them talk to me from upstairs, that’s when I’ma step in and do what Kim do. We work for the same God, my ni**a, you gotta know that,” Snoop said as the audio went on.

Snoop could be looking at a new opportunity as a G’d up therapist for the hood. Just sayin’.
The post comes on the heels of Tyrese talking about turning down some record deals as he is still dealing with the fallout from the divorce of his ex-wife, Samantha Lee, who he says married him for “money” and said it was a “transaction” for her.
“Wow, so we did whole marriage and did the whole duration of a child and starting a family, just to find out that it was all about money… status?”

Naturally, someone who wears his heart on his sleeve like Tyrese does would be devastated to feel like his marriage was a sham, but luckily he still has Snoop in his life and he was there to help him pick up the pieces and encourage him to move forward.
Check out Tyrese talk about turning down some record deals below, and let us know what you think about Tyrese’s situation in the comments section below.

It’s been nearly 15 years since Snoop made an appearance on Martha Stewart’s cooking show in 2008 to make mashed potatoes.
The next year, the Doggfather came back to The Martha Stewart Show to make brownies, and he joked with the lifestyle maven about the “most important part” of the recipe.

The chemistry between the legendary rapper and the former fashion model turned lifestyle queen was instant, and they have been paired up in everything from television specials to commercials ever since.

As Stewart is making headlines as the eldest model to grace the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue (and looking good, too) People magazine created a timeline to celebrate our favorite besties.
2008: Snoop and Martha Meet on The Martha Stewart Show
“What an odd couple we were,” Stewart remarked years later during a 2019 NBC News interview about their first meeting. In that same interview, Snoop added that “cooking with Martha just seemed like the right space to be in.”
December 2009: Snoop Comes Back to Bake Brownies

The two joked about a missing ingredient that the audience all seemed to know about. They even made the brownies green for the “environment.”
Over the next couple of years, the rapper would regularly tweet a picture of his infamous appearance on the show including on May 8, 2013 when he added, “Ayo @marthastewart watchu bakn !!”

Snoop Dogg wants to know, “Where the f*ck is the money?”
The WGA is currently in the streets demanding better pay and other assurances from Hollywood, and Snoop Dogg wants the same for music artists.
Speaking on a panel earlier this week alongside his business partner and former Apple Music executive and Gamma founder Larry Johnson, plus Variety‘s Shirley Halperin, the West Coast rapper urged artists to boycott streaming services for being stingy with the coins, and they can take some lesson from the writers to make that happen.

“[Artists] need to figure it out the same way the writers are figuring it out,” the “Gin & Juice” crafter said. “The writers are striking because [of] streaming, they can’t get paid. Because when it’s on the platform, it’s not like in the box office.”
He continued, “I don’t understand how the fuck you get paid off of that shit. Somebody explain to me how you can get a billion streams and not get a million dollars?… That’s the main gripe with a lot of us artists is that we do major numbers… But it don’t add up to the money. Like where the fuck is the money?”
YouTube also caught a stray from Snoop after Jackson spoke about Gamma only receiving $15,000 in payout money from 500 million YouTube Shorts streams. “YouTube, y’all motherf*ckers need to break bread or fake dead!” he added.
Snoop Dogg’s Beef With Music Streaming Is Nothing New
With the help of Jackson’s Gamma, whom he has a long-term deal with, Snoop Dogg pulled the iconic record label’s music catalog back on streaming services.
Gamma also quietly helped get Death Row’s music on TikTok in February. That move came a year after Uncle Snoop acquired Death Row Records, hence why he has been handing out Death Row chains like they’re Halloween candy. He also pulled the label’s music off streaming services because he was not feeling the artist payout situation.
During a Drink Champs episode last year, he didn’t bite his tongue about streaming services being cheap with the dough.
“First thing I did was snatch all the music off those platforms traditionally known to people, because those platforms don’t pay,” he told the Drink Champs crew. “And those platforms get millions of streams, and nobody gets paid other than the record labels.”
“So what I wanted to do is snatch my music off, create a platform similar to Amazon, Netflix, Hulu. It’ll be a Death Row app, and the music, in the meantime, will live in the metaverse.”
We don’t know if that metaverse or app will hit, but more power to the Doggfather.

Snoop Dogg deserves all of the flowers for his still ongoing career and an upcoming pair of shows will serve as a way for fans to support and honor the Doggfather. This summer, Snoop Dogg and some of his famous friends will grace the stages of the Hollywood Bowl for a pair of shows in celebration of the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Doggystyle.
Snoop Dogg is comfortably resting in his OG status but still very much an active player on all fronts, which include his various business ventures, commercials, and generally being one of the world’s best entertainers. Doggystyle made its debut in November 1993, with Dr. Dre at the production helm and effectively catapulting the Long Beach, Calif. native into superstardom status.

The D-O-Double-G will take to the Hollywood Bowl stages for a pair of dates, June 27 and June 28 respectively, with tickets going on sale this Friday (May 5). Dr. Dre is also on the bill and listed as a producer, and fans can expect the longtime collaborators to make this a concert Hip-Hop fans won’t want to miss.
Joining in on the musical front are conductor Derrick Hodge and the ReCollective Orchestra, who will replay some of Snoop and Dre’s classic hits for the crowd.

Over the years Snoop Dogg has proven to be a prominent business man in the game and when he sees some problems on the horizon he knows to get the heck out of dodge while he can.

Variety is reporting that esports organization and lifestyle brand, FaZe Clan has announced that Tha Doggfather has resigned from his position on their board of directors “effective immediately” following the news that their stock had taken a hit when it went public. Though no specific reason was given for Snoop’s sudden departure, FaZe Clan says their relationship with the Hip-Hop icon remains on the up and up and will continue their alliance with Snoop in future endeavors.

Related Stories

“Mr. Broadus’s resignation was not the result of any disagreement with the Company or any of its subsidiaries,” the statement noted. In a statement shared with Variety, FaZe Clan adds, “Our relationship with Snoop remains positive as we will continue a multi-year collaboration agreement between Snoop and FaZe. The FaZe Holdings Inc. Board of Directors will continue with 9 members. Please visit our website at investors.fazeclan.com for more information.”
You have to wonder why Snoop would suddenly walk away from his gig on the board of directors just months into his newfound gig. Back in December of 2022 it was reported that FaZe Clan had wooed Snoop into that position with $1.9 million in stock and $248,000 worth of stock for his son along with companies controlled by his spouse and his manager. That’s a helluva come up. But since going public stock for FaZe Clan began to tumble before falling beneath $1 this past January.
But that’s not keeping the company from continuing to mush forward as it plans to keep it’s brand growing and rolling until the wheels fall off.
Still, FaZe Clan has made several promotions across the company over the past few months, and before this year, had announced a three-year plan for its TV content, including a “Saturday Night Live”-style series for its Gen Z audience, which they detailed in an in-depth interview with Variety last April.
Looks like they’ll have to be doing so without the guidance of Tha Doggfather.
What do y’all think of Snoop bailing on FaZe Clan? Let us know in the comments section below.

No one is living life more than Snoop Dogg.
Snoop Dogg’s post-rap career has been legendary. No, he isn’t retired from Hip-Hop, but he continues to scratch things off his bucket list.
The “Gin & Juice” crafter can now add a Wrestlemania win to his list of achievements. The Doggfather got his WWE win during an impromptu match between his co-host, The Miz, and Shane McMahon, who was making his return to the WWE ring.
For those who enjoy professional wrestling, everyone knows everything that happens in the ring is scripted, but sometimes things happen. Unfortunately for Shane O’ Mac, a freak injury knocked Vince McMahon’s son out of the game, but thankfully, Snoop Dogg was there to save the day.
In the first 15 seconds of the match, McMahon appeared to injure his knee after pulling off an acrobatic move forcing the company to make a game-time decision.

Who would have thought the audible the WWE would call would be Martha Stewart’s homie hopping the ring to show off his wrestling skills at Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles?
With some instruction from the referee, Snoop Dogg hit The Miz with a People’s Elbow, shoutout to The Rock, and secured the win with a pin.

Snoop Dogg Was Living At Wrestlemania
Wrestling Twitter was here for Uncle Snoop completing another side quest while handling hosting duties at Wrestlemania. “I just looked back and it seemed like Jessika Carr told Snoop Dogg to hit the People’s Elbow. What an incredible save to that segment,” one Twitter user wrote.
Snoop had himself a day. He also drove Rey Mysterio to the ring in a lowrider before his match against his son Dominik Mysterio to honor the late Eddie Guerrero.

Salute to Snoop Dogg. You can see more reactions to his fun time at Wrestlemania in the gallery below.
