DJ Khaled’s love affair with sneakers has been well-documented for quite some time now, so we all knew it was only a matter of time before the Miami producer would open the doors to his own sneaker spot; this week, he did.
Collaborating with global sneaker and streetwear trafficker, SNIPES, the God Did artist opened the doors to his first sneaker boutique, We The Best x SNIPES, in his hometown of Miami yesterday (Aug. 3). And it was quite the event for sneaker aficionados down in South Beach.

We’re not sure which exclusive sneakers were stocked at the grand opening of the We The Best x SNIPES store on Collins Avenue in Miami, but from the looks of things attendees were able to get their hands on some exclusive colorways of the We The Best x Air Jordan 5’s that released earlier this year. Naturally, DJ Khaled was ecstatic about his latest business venture as he stated as much in a press release for the event.
“I’m proud to partner and launch the We The Best x SNIPES store in the heart of Miami Beach,” said DJ Khaled. “To be able to bring a concept store like this to the city is truly remarkable and will uplift the community. I’ve always had a deep love and connection to sneaker culture and streetwear fashion which is the core essence of this new retail store. The community will now have a place not only to come and shop some of the latest brands, but to also have a unique shopping experience like no other.”
SNIPES USA President, Jim Bojko, is excited about the collaboration with Khaled, explaining what this means to the company and the sneaker culture.
“This marks an exciting chapter for us as we deepen our connection to the vibrant Miami community. Our commitment to positively impact the city goes beyond streetwear and fashion; it’s about uplifting the communities we serve by fostering organic and long-lasting outreach programs such as the upcoming basketball court remodel in Brownsville. With DJ Khaled’s vision and our resources, we look forward to creating more such unique experiences that resonate deeply with the Miami community, and we are honored to be a part of this dynamic city’s cultural fabric.”
Y’all already know We The Best x SNIPES is going to be having exclusive drops that you probably won’t be seeing anywhere else. We lowkey mad already.

SNIPES, the leading one-stop shop for fresh apparel and footwear, has long kept shoppers looking fly when it comes to the latest in streetwear fashion. SNIPES is now putting its support behind the Pro Breaking Tour, which just announced a 12-city nationwide tour featuring some of the best breaking dancers from around the world.
The Pro Breaking Tour is one of the leading breaking competitions, expanding its reach around the globe. Working with big sponsors in the past, the tour is excited to name SNIPES as a sponsor given the connection to street style and fashion.
The tour will make its first stop at Massive Monkees Day in Seattle, Wash on May 28. Most major markets will be included on this tour before it ends this fall in Los Angeles.
Beginning on May 27 during Memorial Day Weekend, preliminary competition battles will take place at Pier 62. The main event takes place on May 28 at the Neptune Theatre. The following day (May 29), Massive Monkees, one of Seattle’s most legendary breaking crews, will host a youth battle at Seattle Center followed by a community party and BBQ at Jefferson Park the same day.

Our passion for style and self-expression aligns with the spirit of breaking. Our partnership is a natural fit, and we can’t wait to see what we will achieve together.”
“Breaking has always been an art form that reflects the diverse cultures and communities from which it originates,” Chris “Cros One” Wright from the Pro Breaking Tour, added in the statement. “We are excited to partner with Snipes to bring our events to even more fans across the country. Together, we will continue to elevate breaking to new heights.”
These days, Breaking is more than just a street dance art form that got its start in the early 1970s as part of Hip-Hop’s continuing evolution. Breaking will now be seen on the world stage in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games as a medal event, pushing the style of dance to heights never before achieved.

Foot Locker might have the sneaker game on smash as far as brick-and-mortar stores go, but SNIPES is looking to establish itself as a big-time player as well and is making moves to make us take notice while also supporting the culture.
This month SNIPES is launching their new “Pay It Forward” initiative which is designed to support HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) while also empowering the next generation of Black students by supporting their education and providing them a platform to address today’s issues that affect our tomorrow. The Pay It Forward initiative kicked off at Clark Atlanta University this past April 11 in partnership with The Big Homecoming 365 Impact Tour.

“Celebrating the contributions of HBCUs to our nation’s rich history is a responsibility that we all share. At SNIPES, we believe in the power of community and education to create a better future for all.” said Paula Barbosa, VP of marketing for SNIPES. “We are thrilled to launch the Pay It Forward initiative and The Big Homecoming event, which represent our commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders and giving back to the community. Through these efforts, we hope to inspire and uplift students, faculty, and alumni at HBCUs across the country, and to showcase the importance of education and community engagement in creating a better, more equitable world for all.”
“Partnering with companies that are truly committed to creating consistent impact in the community is important to The Big Homecoming’s reason for existing. We’re more than a music festival, we’re a 365 Impact organization. And partnering with a community committed company like Snipes just helps further and accomplish our Impact goals for HBCUs and communities around the world,” said Amir Windom, Creator of The Big Homecoming.”
During the event, SNIPES committed to providing $50,000 in scholarships to Atlanta students who signed up at their Scholarship Booth to ensure that these students get the help they need to make their dreams come true and hopefully make the kind of change we need in the future going forward.
Props to SNIPES for taking such an initiative for Black college students looking to better themselves while trying to better society as well.
Balls are in your court now, Foot Locker and Jimmy Jazz (we kid, we kid, but nah, for real).
