Rihanna gave birth to a new baby boy. It’s the Bajan singer’s second child, and second son, with Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky.

Apparently, it’s news to the rest of the world since TMZ reports that Rihanna actually gave birth earlier this month.

According to “sources,” the new bundle of joy arrived on August 3rd while Rihanna was in Los Angeles. No word on the child’s name beyond that it starts with an R. His big bro’s name is RZA Athelston Mayers (he was born May 13, 2022) while dad’s born name is Rakim, so let the guessing games begin as far as whether or not it’s a legendary rapper’s namesake. Russell in honor of the Ol’ Dirty Bastard, maybe? Or just plain Rakim Junior?

We’ll have to wait and see. So far, no confirmation in the proud parent’s socials.
Congrats to Rihanna and A$AP Rocky.

Rihanna may no longer be the CEO at Savage X Fenty, but she’s still representing her brand well, and now she’s promoting the company’s maternity bra with a photoshoot that features the “Umbrella” singer breastfeeding her 14-month-old son RZA.

“Not ur mama’s maternity bras…designed by @badgalriri, approved by baby RZA,” a caption on the company’s Instagram post read, while another post read, “Not @badgalriri giving us baby fever 😫 #SavageXMaternity ✨Our NEW maternity bras are HERE✨ A capsule collection that’s giving comfort, function and support for ur 🥥🥥.”

Rihanna is currently pregnant with her second child with rapper A$AP Rocky, and she certainly hasn’t been shy about modeling for her fashion company and her fans, baby bump and all.

While the “Lift Me Up” songstress jokingly wore a t-shirt that reads “Use Condoms” to show off her pregnancy in June, the SavagexFenty site shows the company also has a t-shirt that reads “Make More Babies” available.
Speaking of making “more babies,” Rihanna says her current pregnancy feels “so different than the first one,” when RZA, named for the Wu-Tang founder, came into the world in May 2022.
“Just everything … no cravings, tons of nausea, everything’s different,” she said during a red carpet interview at the Met Gala in May of this year. “But I’m enjoying it, I’m enjoying it. I feel good. I feel energetic.”
Congratulations to Rihanna, A$AP and RZA, who will have himself a sibling soon. May the family continue to receive its blessings.

For decades, the Wu-Tang Clan have always stated that they were for the children, but when Rihanna and A$AP Rocky decided to name their baby RZA, that mission statement kind of took on a whole new meaning. The RZA himself couldn’t help but feel honored by their choice.

In an interview with CNN, the OG Ruler Zig Zag Zig Allah touched on the topic and admitted that his music peers taking his moniker and using it to bestow on their firstborn son was something that touched him. And RZA looked forward to their son taking his name into a next generation of Hip-Hoppers.
CNN reports:

The original RZA told CNN it is “a great honor to know that there’s another generation that’s not even of my own household that feels the strength and the inspiration of that name.”
“RZA is only a name, it’s a title,” he said. “So it’s an honor and I salute her and A$AP and their family. All the blessings in the world from me.”
Word is that A$AP and Riri were down to two names: The RZA or Masta Killa, but decided to go with the former as having “Masta Killa Mayers” on official government forms might raise all kinds of red flags in Amerikkka. We kid, we kid.
Now, we’ll just have to wait and see if Rocky and Riri continue to the tradition of having rapper names in the family (A$AP’s real name is Rakim Mayers, he was named after the God MC, Rakim) and which rapper will be chosen to become a part of their growing family. We’re lowkey hoping for Mic Geronimo Mayers. Just sayin’.
What do y’all think A$AP Rocky and Rihanna should name their next baby? Tupac? Kool Keith? Roxanne Shante? Let us know in the comments section below.

Rihanna is officially stepping down as the CEO of her Savage X Fenty company, in a move to further the vision and earning potential of the brand.

According to reports, the superstar singer announced that she would be leaving the role with the lingerie brand that she co-founded in 2018 with another group including luxury house LVMH effective on Monday (June 26). Hillary Super, the former CEO of Anthropologie Group will take over the reins as Rihanna will remain executive chair. Since that origin point, her valuation is set at $1.4 billion.

“It’s been beautiful to see our vision for Savage X Fenty impact the industry at such an incredible magnitude over the last five years,” Rihanna said in a statement. “This is just the beginning for us, and we’re going to continue to expand in ways that always connect with the consumer. I’m so grateful and excited to welcome Hillary Super as our new CEO — she is a strong leader and is focused on taking the business to an even higher level.”
“I’m thrilled to join the Savage X Fenty family,” Super said in the press release. “The brand is a major powerhouse in the lingerie and apparel industry, and its unwavering commitment to celebrating inclusivity and fearlessness is inspiring.” Prior to her being global CEO at Anthropologie, she served in leadership roles at American Eagle, Gap and Old Navy as well as Guess.
For the “Diamonds” singer, the move is another step towards realizing a stronger connection with the consumer beyond digital sales. The Savage X Fenty brand opened up brick-and-mortar locations in seven cities across the United States which include Los Angeles, Houston, Las Vegas and Atlanta, fueled by earning $125 million in investments at the beginning of last year aided by other groups including Jay-Z’s Marcy Venture Partners. Also adding to the brand’s appeal, the Valentine’s Day specials produced in conjunction with Amazon Prime have brought in more viewers and customers.
