Selena Gomez made fans go “Aww” last week when she called Taylor Swift her only good friend in the entertainment industry, but there was one person who didn’t seem to think it was as cute as everyone else did. Francia Raisa, the actress who donated her kidney to the “Lose You to Love Me” singer in 2017, appeared to feel a little left out by Gomez’s comment, and reacted in a way many interpreted to be shady, and on Sunday (Nov. 6), Gomez clapped back.
“Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know,” the 30-year-old Only Murders in the Building star commented on a TikTok by a creator who summarized the drama for her followers, pointing out that Raisa was no longer following Gomez on Instagram.

The the bump in their friendship began after Gomez’s Rolling Stone cover story went live Thursday (Nov. 3), one day before the singer-actress’ mental health documentary My Mind & Me premiered on Apple TV+. In the profile, she opened up about feeling like she “never fit in with a cool group of girls that were celebrities.”

“My only friend in the industry really is Taylor [Swift], so I remember feeling like I didn’t belong,” she added.

Raisa then reportedly replied in an Instagram post resharing Gomez’s quote about Taylor. “Interesting,” she wrote in a since-deleted comment.

Onlookers were quick to take Raisa’s comment as a diss at Gomez, with whom the 32-year-old Secret Life of the American Teenager actress had been friends for years. Just last year, Gomez tweeted that she was “forever grateful” to Raisa for donating a kidney to her when complications with lupus resulted in the Wizards of Waverly Place alum needing a transplant.

Meanwhile, Swift had kind words for Gomez following the release of My Mind & Me, which follows Gomez as she faces struggles with depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder over the course of six years. “So proud of you @selenagomez,” she wrote about her pal on Instagram stories. “Love you forever.”

Britney Spears revealed on Sunday (Nov. 6) that despite the slick moves in her fan-favorite dance videos she is suffering from a physical pain on an almost daily basis due to nerve damage. “I’m dancing in time now Victoria … yes … nerve damage on the right side of my body … there’s no cure except God I guess … nerve damage is caused sometimes when you don’t get enough oxygen to your brain,” she wrote alongside a clip in which she’s dancing to Foster the People’s “Pumped Up Kicks” while rocking a red crop top and black shorts.

While Spears, 40, did not specify what caused the nerve damage or what she described as a brain oxygenation issue, she did try to explain to her followers how it manifest. “Your brain literally shuts down,” she wrote of the dire consequences of not getting enough oxygen to your brain. “In that place I didn’t breathe when I was there … nerve damage causes parts of your body to go numb. I wake up like 3 times a week in bed and my hands are completely numb … nerves are tiny and it feels like pins and needles from the right side of my body it shoots up to my neck and the part that hurts the worst is my temple on my head … it stings and it’s scary … the last 3 years since I got out of that place I’ve been in a mild unconscious state … I couldn’t face it.”

The good news, Spears said, is that when she dances she doesn’t feel the pain, which might explain why she posts so many dance videos. “It’s like my mind literally goes to a place of my inner child. And although I don’t move like I use to … I truly believe my faith in it gave me strength,” she wrote. “By the grace of God I finally found a medication where I actually feel oxygen going to my brain and through my neck … my eyes are more open now and I can hold my head up correctly.”

Spears — who is one week away from the one-year anniversary of the end of her restrictive 13-year conservatorship — said hopefully that she is getting “a lot better, I can breathe … I feel smarter because well, Jesus I can breathe now … either way, I’m breathing now and I can dance in time.”

Spears and Elton John recently released a video for the Joel Corry remix of their hit collaborative single, “Hold Me Closer.”

The show went on for the Backstreet Boys at London’s O2 arena Sunday (Nov. 6), but it was an emotional set for Nick Carter after the passing of his little brother Aaron Carter the day before.
A photo of Aaron was shown on the big screen in his memory, reading: Aaron Carter 1987-2022. Nick’s bandmates shared hugs and pats on the back with him as they spoke of Aaron on his behalf.

“We all grew up together. We’ve been through highs and lows, up and downs. You guys have been through it with us, we’ve been through it with you,” Kevin Richardson said to the audience.

He continued, “Tonight, we’ve got a little bit of heavy hearts because we lost one of our family members yesterday. We just wanted to find a moment in our show to recognize him. Nick’s little brother Aaron Carter passed away yesterday.”

“He’s a part of our family,” Richardson said. “We thank you guys for all your love, all your well wishes and all your support.”

“We’d like to dedicate this next song to our little brother Aaron Carter,” Howie Dorough then said.

The group launched into an a capella performance of “Breathe” in Aaron’s honor.

Aaron Carter died at the age of 34 on Saturday, his manager confirmed to Billboard. The singer’s career began in the ’90s when, at the age of nine, he opened for the Backstreet Boys. He went on to record Billboard Hot 100 hits like “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It)” and “That’s How I Beat Shaq,” both on 2000’s Aaron’s Party (Come and Get It) album which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart. Over the years, he released five studio albums, worked in television and appeared on Broadway.

Earlier on Sunday, Nick shared a post on Instagram in memory of his brother.

“My heart is broken. Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded,” he wrote. “I have always held on to the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed. Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss, but the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here. I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you Chizz. Now you can finally have the peace you could never find here on earth….I love you baby brother.”

Selena Gomez‘s new song “My Mind & Me” has topped this week’s new music poll.

Music fans voted in a poll published Friday (Nov. 4) on Billboard, choosing Gomez’s new track as their favorite new music release of the past week.

Gomez’s latest release brought in more than 60% of the vote, beating out new music by Drake and 21 Savage, P!nk and more.

Just ahead of the release of her Apple TV+ documentary My Mind & Me, Gomez shared an emotional new song of the same name. “My Mind & Me,” the pop star’s first solo release since 2021’s Revelación, has her addressing the mental health struggles that she opens up about in the new doc: “My mind and me, we don’t get along sometimes / And it gets hard to breathe,” she says in the ballad.

“But I wouldn’t change my life / And all of the crashing and burning and breaking, I know now / If somеbody sees me like this, then thеy won’t feel alone now,” Gomez sings in the chorus.

Last week she revealed that she’s written about 24 potential songs for her next album and teased that new music is coming “hopefully next year,”

Trailing behind Gomez’s “My Mind & Me” on the fan-voted poll is Drake and 21 Savage’s joint Her Loss album, with 11% of the vote, and P!nk’s new song “Never Gonna Not Dance Again,” with 5% of the vote.

Dolly Parton took a moment outside her Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction to praise a fellow female superstar, Taylor Swift.

Speaking with Access Hollywood on the Rock Hall red carpet, Parton was asked to comment on Swift’s historic feat last week of being the first artist to claim the entire top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, led by the Midnights single “Anti-Hero” at No. 1. Swift’s Midnights also blasted in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with the biggest week for any release in seven years.

“I love her,” said Parton, who was inducted into the Rock Hall Saturday night (Nov. 5) with the help of P!nk.

“I saw that on the news and I think that is sensational,” the country icon said of Swift making Hot 100 history. “And congratulations to her — Taylor. I think she’s spectacular. Great writer, and I love how she presents herself. She’s always been such a pro. I’ve admired her all these years.”

During Parton’s speech at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, she teased an upcoming rock album. She also treated the audience to a new rock song that had her declaring: “I still got rock and roll down in my country soul.”

Parton spoke of her rock album on the red carpet as well, telling Access Hollywood, “I did Elton John‘s song and I did ‘Open Arms’ — I got Steve Perry gonna be singing wtih me on that. Steve Tyler, I’m hoping [to ask] … Hopefully I’m gonna just ask all the girls and the guys to sing with me.”

Harry Styles’ concerts this weekend were postponed due to the flu.

After rescheduling Friday night‘s (Nov. 4) show at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles “due to a band illness,” Styles made more changes to his tour schedule on Saturday and explained that he is the one who is unwell.

“Towards the end of the show on Wednesday I started feeling ill and I’ve been in bed with the flu ever since,” Styles wrote on Saturday in an Instagram Story. “I’ve been doing everything I can to be able to sing tonight, but I’m leaving the doctor now and I’m devastated that it’s just not possible. Until very recently I haven’t had to postpone a show due to illness in the 12 years I’ve been touring. I’m so sorry to do it, and if there was anyway I could do the show I would.”

He added, “I’m sorry this news is coming so close to show time, but it was my sincerest hope to be able to play for you tonight. I know several of you have planned trips to LA to see the show, and it means the absolute world to me.”

Styles said that his concerts on Nov. 5, 6 and 7 are postponed until Jan. 26, 27 and 29 in 2023. “Everything else will play as planned,” he noted.

He’ll be at the Forum, where he’s been for a mini residency as part of his Love On Tour, through mid-November: The remaining L.A. dates are currently set at the venue for Nov. 9, 11, 12, 14 and 15. Keep up-to-date with his tour dates here.

Styles’ Love On Tour is in support of Harry’s House, his Billboard 200 chart-topper that features the hit single “As It Was,” which was No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 15 weeks.

Aaron Carter died on Nov. 5, 2022 at the age of 34. The singer and younger brother of Backstreet Boys‘ Nick Carter passed away at his Los Angeles home.

Although Carter more recently made headlines for what went on his personal life — he was often open about about his struggles with substance abuse and mental health, and had several stints in rehab — his career that spanned more than two decades saw him release five studio albums, with the first dropping in 1997 when he was just nine years old. Over the years, Carter’s career also took him to Broadway and both scripted and reality television.

Below, revisit the highlights of Carter’s career timeline — from first single “Crush on You” to the hits that appeared on Billboard‘s charts to the final studio album released before his death, plus the various other entertainment credits on his résumé.

Aaron Carter, who rose to fame as a child pop star with hits like “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It)” and “That’s How I Beat Shaq,” died at the age of 34 on Saturday (Nov. 5). In the wake of his death, fellow artists and television stars paid tribute to Aaron, the younger brother of Backstreet Boys‘ Nick Carter.

Carter’s manager confirmed his death to Billboard on Saturday. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department also told The Hollywood Reporter that a suspicious death took place at Carter’s address but did not confirm the identity.

“Fame at a young age is often more a curse than a blessing and Surviving it is not easy. RIP Aaron Carter,” legendary songwriter Diane Warren wrote on Twitter.

Carter’s self-titled debut album was released in 1997, and it was followed by 2000’s Aaron’s Party (Come and Get It), which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. He went on to release three more studio albums: Oh Aaron (2001), Another Earthquake! (2002) and Love (2018). Carter also worked in scripted and reality television, with highlights including an appearance on Lizzie McGuire, starring alongside his siblings on House of Carters and competing on Dancing With the Stars.

Incredibly sad about the passing of Aaron Carter. My thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family. 🕯️— ChristyCarlsonRomano (@ChristyRomano) November 5, 2022

Aaron Carter, singer, television personality and younger brother of Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter, died Saturday (Nov. 5). He was 34.
A source confirms his death to The Hollywood Reporter, and it was also reported by TMZ. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department told THR that a suspicious death took place at Carter’s address but could not confirm the identity.

Representatives for Carter and his brother did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Carter got his start opening for the Backstreet Boys on a 1997 tour, and his debut album, Aaron Carter, was released later than year, reaching gold status.

His follow-up album, Aaron’s Party (Come and Get It), was released in September 2000. Aaron’s Party peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 albums chart and went triple platinum. It featured the singles “I Want Candy” and two Billboard Hot 100 hits, “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It)” (No. 35) and “That’s How I Beat Shaq” (No. 95). He supported the album as an opening act for Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears on the Oops!… I Did It Again Tour.

Carter dabbled in acting, appearing on shows including Lizzie McGuire and making his Broadway debut in 2001 as JoJo the Who in Seussical the Musical.

He starred alongside Nick and their siblings B.J., Aaron, Leslie and Angel Carter on the E! unscripted series House of Carters in 2006. Leslie died of a drug overdose in January 2012 at the age of 25.

Other television credits included competing on the 2009 season of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, finishing in fifth place, and on the Food Network cooking battle series Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off in 2012.

Carter was a gossip-site fixture and known for headlines surrounding his personal life, dating back to his early years as a teen heartthrob.

He has had multiple rehab stays, most recently entering earlier this year in an effort to regain custody of his son Prince. He had previously entered rehab back in 2017 following an arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence and marijuana charges.

That’s my girl! Ally Brooke used TikTok to address questions about Fifth Harmony hypothetically getting back together on Thursday (Nov. 4).

“When will Fifth Harmony have a reunion???” she wrote on the screen. Taking off her sunglasses, the singer then swaggeringly lip synced, “First off, b—h, mind your business!” as her definitive answer on the subject.

While some fans wondered in the comments section about what prompted Brooke to make the video in the first place, others took it with either a grain of salt or a bit of hope. “Us harmonizers didn’t hear a no” while another declared, “Fifth harmony is dead, but I’m still holding hope for a reunion in the future” with a crossed fingers emoji.

“Nah, we need a lauren and normani album first!” another follower argued, pointing to the respective debut solo albums by Lauren Jauregui and Normani that have reportedly long been in the works.

Of course, all five members of the 10’s girl group have remained busy since announcing their indefinite hiatus in 2018 — more than a year after Camila Cabello abruptly exited the group in the closing days of 2016.

Since then, Cabello has released three solo albums — her latest being 2022’s Familia — and is currently in the midst of her freshman season as a coach on NBC’s The Voice. Normani made a splash in 2019 with her debut solo single “Motivation” and has collaborated with everyone from Sam Smith (“Dancing With a Stranger”) and Megan Thee Stallion (“Diamonds”) to Cardi B (“Wild Side”) and Calvin Harris (“New to You” with Tinashe and Offset). Meanwhile Jauregui dropped her first solo EP, Prelude, almost exactly one year ago in Nov. 2021.

For her part, Brooke has embraced her Mexican-American heritage on recent Spanish-language singles like “Mi Música,” “Por Ti” and “Tequila.” And Dinah Jane last released a string of singles like “Lottery,” “1501” and “Missed a Spot” back in 2020 before she forced to cancel a planned tour of the U.S. and Europe due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
