Taylor Swift did not announce Reputation (Taylor’s Version) Saturday night, but she did finally perform the album’s “I Did Something Bad” on The Eras Tour. At her Aug. 17 show, the song — a personal favorite, Swift said — got its tour debut during the acoustic set at London’s Wembley Stadium.
“The whole tour I’ve done 100s of songs, but I’ve not done one of my favorite ones,” teased Swift, guitar in hand in front of 92,000 people, “because I was waiting for the right crowd.”
And then came “I Did Something Bad” for the first time in 2024 — a sharp, acoustic version of one of Reputation‘s big pop pillars.

Swift’s Eras rendition of the song still was a thrill, building up to a bridge that had her scream-singing the last “Light me up!”
Of course, it was a thrill to Swifties not just in a musical sense, but in getting hopes high that Swift’s much-anticipated Reputation (Taylor’s Version) might be this-much-closer to materializing.
With only two re-recorded album releases remaining in Swift’s queue, Reputation and her self-titled debut, and with the tip last December that Rep‘s previously unheard vault tracks are “fire” (it’s what Swift said), playing a Rep rarity, which many fans guessed would be saved to align with an album announcement, is an interesting choice. “I Did Something Bad” hasn’t been performed live by Swift since 2018.
Swiftstorians might recall that it was almost exactly seven years ago, on Aug. 18, 2017, when Swift cryptically went dark on socials ahead of the original Reputation album’s announcement. Without explanation, on Aug. 21, 2017, one post showed up on her feed: the first slither of the now-iconic snake imagery associated with her sixth studio album.
“I DID SOMETHING BAD” surfaced as a trending topic on social media into the late hours of Saturday, with fan memes aplenty. (Scroll through them below.)
In Saturday night’s acoustic set, she also played a piano mashup that pulled at the heartstrings: “My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys,” from The Tortured Poets Department, and “Coney Island,” from Evermore. Swift has two more Wembley shows before wrapping her run of London tour dates.

Taylor Swift is praising Post Malone following his new album release.
The 34-year-old pop superstar took to her Instagram Story on Saturday (Aug. 17) to gush over the “Sunflower” singer’s country debut, F-1 Trillion, which dropped on Friday.
“Was lucky enough to hear this amazing music on set of the ‘fortnight’ video when Austin played it for me,” Swift captioned an image of herself on set with Malone, 29. She added, “It’s incredible how versatile his artistry is. And just the most down to earth guy alive.”
The “Anti-Hero” hitmaker’s post also included a link to stream F-1 Trillion.

Malone has spent months in Nashville, writing and collaborating with Music City’s top country artists and songwriters in crafting the new set. He teamed with Morgan Wallen for the six-week Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper “I Had Some Help,” and his collaboration with Blake Shelton, “Pour Me a Drink,” is at No. 14 on the Country Airplay chart.
F-1 Trillion also features collaborations with Luke Combs, Dolly Parton, Jelly Roll, Tim McGraw, Ernest, Hank Williams Jr., Lainey Wilson, Brad Paisley, Sierra Ferrell, HARDY and Chris Stapleton.
Earlier this year, Swift teamed up with Malone on “Fortnight,” the lead single from her 11th album, The Tortured Poets Department. The track spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in May.
Malone also joined Swift for the trippy music video of “Fortnight.” The visual features Post’s tattoos on Taylor’s face as she appears to wipe her face clean, only to reveal a face full of ink instead. In a series of flashback scenes, both of the musicians are fresh-faced, as Swift runs into the arms of a tattoo-free Malone.

Bebe Rexha is claiming she was the victim of a “hate crime” after an incident at a German airport. In a series of emotional posts on her Instagram Story on Saturday (Aug. 17), the 34-year-old pop star alleged that she was “threatened” and banned from her Lufthansa flight at Munich Airport after speaking Albanian to […]
Paris Hilton says she is “safe” after a fire broke out on the set of her latest music video.
On Friday (Aug. 16), the 43-year-old Simple Life alum shared on social media that a blaze broke out in her trailer while filming a video for her new song “Bad B—- Academy.” The post included shots of the damage caused by the fire, along with a message pointing out that nobody was injured during the incident.
“Sadly an accidental fire broke out in my trailer on the set of my music video today,” Hilton wrote on her Instagram Story. “As heartbreaking as it is, l’m so thankful everyone is safe and I’m incredibly grateful for the amazing support I have around me.”

The “Stars Are Blind” singer’s post included a shout-out to her team, including video director Hannah Lux Davis, as well as Heidi Klum, Meghan Trainor and Lance Bass.
Hilton shared a second post with a photo containing some of her charred belongings from the video shoot. “Not how I expected my music video shoot for ‘Bad B—- Academy’ to go,” she captioned the image.

Hilton’s upcoming album, Infinite Icon, is scheduled for release during New York Fashion Week on Sept. 6. The upcoming release, executive produced by Sia, marks the entertainment icon’s first full-length since her 2006 debut, Paris, which spawned her biggest hit to date “Stars Are Blind.” The track reached No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Hilton recently collaborated with Meghan Trainor on the song “Chasin’.” Paris gushed about the “All About That Bass” singer in an interview with Billboard.
“One of my favorite features is with Meghan Trainor. She’s just so sweet and amazing,” she said. “We met years ago during New York Fashion Week. She just came up to me, like, ‘I’m the third Hilton sister.’ Then I immediately just loved her so much and we became best friends.”

On Thursday night, Bruno Mars was the first performer at the Intuit Dome arena in Inglewood, California — LA’s newest venue and the home of the Clippers.
The elusive musician is playing two nights, and the first was one for the books. He slid through all the hits and invited a very special guest onstage in front of all the fans and celebrities in attendance.
Below, we’re breaking down our favorite moments from the night.
Mars and Lady Gaga had been teasing their brand-new collaboration “Die with a Smile” all day, so of course it was the perfect time to live-debut the country collab. He surprised the crowd with the icon toward the end of the show and started by thanking her for having him on the song. Their voices blended perfectly, and the song sounded so good it felt like we were already listening to a classic.
Gaga wasn’t the only musician there: Intuit Dome was packed with celebrities. We talked to Meghan Trainor on the red carpet, who said her family’s favorite Bruno track is “24K Magic”. Inside the club suites, we ran into Halle Bailey and DDG and their adorable baby. The coolest celeb moment of the night was catching Jennifer Lopez with her hands up and whipping her hair to Mars’ “Marry You”. You better live, J.Lo!
Mars is a once-in-a-lifetime performer, and his skills were on full display during the show. He effortlessly executed high-energy choreography along with his band on songs like “Finesse.” You wouldn’t even notice because he’d then slip into a smooth ballad like “Versace on the Floor” and not sound even a bit winded. His belt was so loud you could feel his emotion all the way up to the top of the Dome. The mic was definitely on.
The Intuit Dome itself was a star. The paper and cashless venue was a marvel in technology. Each floor had bars and shops that operated so smoothly there were rarely lines. The club level had lounges for guests to mingle and eat before the show. The best part? Each seat had a charging port, so no more dead phones at concerts.
Mars’ fans were a vibe. They quickly ate up the exclusive merchandise for the commemorative evening. Blink and you would think you’re at Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour, because so many fans were dressed as Mr. Mars. The most popular look was his 24K Magic album cover.
Mars is set for one more night at Intuit Dome on Friday night (Aug. 16), followed by comedian Sebastian Maniscalco on Saturday night, Latin star Marco Antonio Solis on Sunday night, and two nights of Olivia Rodrigo’s GUTS Tour on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Ariana Grande is encouraging her fans to vote, paired with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The “We Can’t Be Friends” superstar teamed up with nonprofit HeadCount to launch an exclusive fan sweepstakes via the organization’s Good to Vote initiative in order to increase voter registration among young people. Participants can see if they’re “good to vote” by […]

“Girls Just Want to Have Fun” racked up 13.7 million official on-demand U.S. streams and 2,000 downloads in July 2024, according to Luminate.
The song is the sole entry from Cobra Kai on the July 2024 tally; it’s followed by a slew of titles from Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys and Peacock’s U.S. version of Love Island, which take up the remainder of the 10-position list.
Music from the fourth season of The Boys — particularly episodes six, seven and eight, which aired between July 4 and 18 — take up Nos. 2-7 and 10, paced by Christopher Cross‘ “Sailing” at No. 2.
“Sailing,” a No. 1 hit for Cross on the Hot 100 in August 1980, scored a synch in the sixth episode of the series, as did the No. 3 song, Gerry Rafferty’s “Baker Street” (No. 2 on the Hot 100 in June 1978).

This week, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars link up for a surefire hit, Post Malone tries on a cowboy hat and LISA brings in a friend for a pop banger. Check out all of this week’s picks below:
Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars, “Die With a Smile”
[embedded content]
The superstar collaboration “Die With a Smile” apparently came together when Bruno Mars invited Lady Gaga over to his studio one night, played her the bones of the track, and the two stayed up until dawn finishing it; that backstory is befitting of an epic duet about not wasting the finite time we all have, as Gaga and Mars let their melodies ricochet off of Andrew Watt’s guitar snarl.
Post Malone, F-1 Trillion
[embedded content]
Posty may have brought in Nashville’s varsity squad to help him craft his debut country project — Tim McGraw, Morgan Wallen, Blake Shelton, Dolly Parton and Hank Williams Jr. all appear on F-1 Trillion, and that’s just the first five tracks! — yet the pop-rap polymath is also a songwriting savant, and knows precisely how to translate his storytelling into a new form.

LISA feat. Rosalía, “New Woman”

After launching her new solo era with “Rockstar,” Blackpink’s LISA has summoned more firepower for “New Woman,” a multi-lingual electro-pop track featuring Rosalía oozing charisma, sleek production courtesy of Max Martin and Ilya, and ample room for LISA to showcase her attitude and spirit.
Tinashe, Quantum Baby
[embedded content]
Tinashe may have recently revived her mainstream fortunes with the viral smash “Nasty,” but she’s been releasing danceable, self-assured R&B for a decade — and Quantum Baby, a sumptuous new 8-song project full of immediately likable beats and flirtations, simply continues the positive momentum.
Grupo Firme & Demi Lovato, “Chula”
[embedded content]
Demi Lovato has a long history of singing in Spanish on her own projects and as a collaborator, and with “Chula,” the pop veteran links up with Grupo Firme to explore the regional Mexican sound that has exploded over the past few years, as well as toss out an anthem that works well in the waning summer days.
Hozier, Unaired
[embedded content]
Continuing a huge year that has included the first Hot 100 chart-topper of his career (“Too Sweet”) and packed arena audiences, Hozier has unveiled Unaired, a three-song EP that toasts the success of his Unreal Unearth album on its one-year anniversary as well as finds a home for the rollicking new soul-rock single “Nobody’s Soldier.”
Halsey, “Lonely is the Muse”
[embedded content]
Although Halsey didn’t work with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross on new single “Lonely is the Muse,” the spiraling rock track recalls the work that the trio created on 2022’s excellent If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, with crashing guitars failing to wash away the pop star’s insecurities or blunt her anger.
Benson Boone, “Pretty Slowly”
[embedded content]
“Oh, how come all the best things fall apart?” Benson Boone wonders on “Pretty Slowly,” a stomping folk-rock track that examines a breakup from all angles and allows the singer-songwriter’s falsetto to heighten the drama; after the breakthrough of “Beautiful Things,” Boone may have another hit on his hands here.
Foster The People, Paradise State of Mind
[embedded content]
“Pumped Up Kicks” may forever be their biggest hit, but Foster The People have fashioned an impressive decade-plus run out of the opening provided by their smash single, and Paradise State of Mind, their Atlantic Records debut, is a jaunty mix of disco, rock, psychedelia and retro pop that showcases Mark Foster’s pinpoint songwriting instincts.
Editor’s Pick: Wishy, Triple Seven
[embedded content]
Indianapolis quintet Wishy revel in being unclassifiable, with their songs ranging from anthemic pop-rock to hard-guitar emo to bleary shoegaze — but debut album Triple Seven is so captivating in its shaggy charm and searing hooks that you won’t care which genre lines it does or doesn’t cross.

Barbra Streisand was the marquee star on Thursday night’s (Aug. 15) Jewish Women For Kamala online Zoom rally in support of the presumptive democratic presidential ticket. The latest in a series of similar digital rallies that have brought together white dudes, Deadheads, Swifties, Black men and women and several other niche voting demos drew more than 16,000 attendees according to organizers, many, no doubt, tuning in to hear what the Oscar-winning legend had to say about Vice President Kamala Harris and her VP pick, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
“It’s been said that Jewish women are known to speak out and tell you what they think and I’m one of them,” said Streisand, seated in a bespoke library. “I’m so tired of hearing [former President Donald] Trump put down America, saying ‘Make America Great Again’ because America has been great since 1776. And it’s still great in 2024.”
Trending on Billboard
Streisand said she’s supporting Harris/Walz because she wants a president who believes we can “do anything if we work together.” She praised the democratic ticket for bringing a new sense of “optimism, energy and excitement” to the campaign since Harris stepped in for President Biden more than two weeks ago in an unprecedented switch at the top of the ticket with less than 100 days to go in the neck-and-neck race.
The singer called Harris a “terrific combination of both compassion and strength, a joyful warrior who will fight for the values that so many of us hold dear.” She went on to praise the Vice President for being a consistent advocate for programs that support gender equality, social justice and voting rights, while noting that in a recent appearance at a rally with evangelical voters Trump promised that if they voted for him just this one time, “you don’t have to vote again,” a line some took as the latest attempt from the former one-term president to erode democratic norms.
“Can you imagine?” Streisand said. “In contrast, Kamala Harris understands just what a privilege it is to be able to vote! And her commitment to health care, Social Security, education and to combatting climate change are the policies of someone who cares about the future of our country, our children and our planet… and not just the profits from big oil.”
Streisand noted that women are nurturers who take care of others and can think “beyond themselves,” while tagging Trump as someone who cares “only about himself” while insulting “any woman who questions him” by calling them “nasty.”
“I don’t think he even respects women,” Streisand said as a pivot to Trump’s appointment of several conservative Supreme Court justices who erased half a century of precedent by overturning Roe v. Wade. “I don’t know of any equivalent law giving the government control over men’s bodies,” she said of the decision that eliminated the federal right to abortion.
“Clearly in some people’s eyes women don’t count… oh but we will in November when they count the votes!,” she added with a sly smile before doing the most Barbra thing possible and taking a brief pause to sip of water from a flowered tea mug through a straw before leaning into Trump’s VP pick, Sen. JD Vance. She lambasted the first-term Ohio native for what she said are his stances that “women should stay at home,” as well as her description of what she said said was his belief that women’s careers are to blame for the nation’s “moral decline.”
“But Vance’s moral compass seems off, because he sees nothing wrong with his running mate — a convicted felon who talks about law and order — but doesn’t think it applies to him,” she said of Trump, who in addition to his 34 felony convictions in New York in his porn star hush money trial, is facing at least three other major court cases tied to his hoarding of government documents at his Florida residence and federal election interference tied to his attempt to results of the 2020 election he lost to President Biden.
She warned that Trump and Vance had given a preview of what they have in mind via their embrace of the Project 2025 blueprint from the ultra-conservative Heritage Foundation, a document that seeks to replace thousands of non-partisan federal workers with political appointees loyal to Trump while injecting conservative Christian values into government as well as eliminating the Department of Education and the Head Start program for young children living in poverty. Calling it a “naked grab for power… a blueprint for a dictatorship,” Streisand said the 900-page document is full of things that should be alarming to anyone who cherishes the Constitution.
Trump has claimed he has “nothing to do” with the controversial Project 2025, despite Heritage Foundation president Kevin Roberts telling the Washington Post that he personally briefed the former president on it, as well as recent hidden camera footage in which one of the document’s co-authors talked extensively about his work behind-the-scenes to prepare policy for a potential second Trump administration.
Decrying the use of “fear and hate” to pit people against each other, Streisand described great presidents such as Washington, Lincoln and Jefferson working to bring Americans together and change the world. “This is how we make progress, not with hateful, divisive leadership,” she said, praising Harris’ compassion “for all human beings,” while criticizing Trump for what she said was his lack of “intelligence, judgement and heart.”
“Our society will flourish with a smart, experienced woman,” Streisand said in conclusion to her two-plus minute endorsement. “Who will defend our rights and send Trump back to where he belongs… in his golf cart, lying about his scores.”
