Springtime is almost here, and to welcome the warmer season, some of today’s biggest music stars are heating things up with a slew of new releases.
Kacey Musgraves‘ fifth studio album, Deeper Well, shows off a transformative side of the singer. Musgraves told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 about the new album, saying, “I’ve found more of a connection to my softer side, my roots, like some of the Americana, the folk, the country…really the warmth of that. I felt drawn to that. I felt like I was in a softer place myself after [Musgraves’ 2021 album] star-crossed and going through a divorce and doing a lot of therapy and honestly falling in love again and opening myself back up to the human experience. These songs just kind of started coming out.”
Similarly, Justin Timberlake’s Everything I Thought It Was arrived six years after his 2018 album, Man of the Woods. The album features previously released singles “Drown” and “Selfish,” which debuted at No. 19 on the Billboard Hot 100, earning Timberlake his highest debut in six years on the tally. Notably, EITIW also includes a long-awaited reunion from *NSYNC, called “Paradise,” and the full band performed the track onstage at Timberlake’s one-night-only concert at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on Wednesday night (March 13).Notably, EITIW also includes a long-awaited reunion from *NSYNC, called “Paradise,” and the full band performed the track onstage at Timberlake’s one-night-only concert at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on Wednesday night (March 13).

In 1997, Ivy made a strong statement with her song “Pongan Atención” (pay attention), on which she loudly and proudly declared: “Pay attention, country, nation, association, the queen has arrived.” The Puerto Rican artist and rapper kicked off her career as part of the all-male collective The Noise, and through her unapologetic, powerful bars, mainly about self-love and being a strong-minded woman, she ultimately earned her crown as the Queen of Reggaeton.
Ivy first arrived on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart in 2005 with her timeless track “Quiero Bailar” (originally released in 2003), a song about a woman whose provocative dance moves demand nothing but respect on the dance floor and don’t mean anything more than having a good time.

Seven other of her tracks earned a spot on the Hot Latin Songs chart, including “Te He Querido, Te He Llorado” (2005), “Que Lloren” (2007) and “Dime” (2008), all of which hit the top 10. Additionally, she has 20 entries on the Latin Rhythm Airplay chart, among other accolades.
The Boricua star was recently honored with the Women in Music Icon award at the 2023 Billboard Women in Music Awards, where she opened up about her challenging road to success.
“When I fell in love with music, I found myself constantly battling to earn my spot, to earn my own lane, and to find my own identity between the guys,” she said in her acceptance speech. “The movement was underground, then turned reggaeton. I traveled around the island of Puerto Rico measuring my skills against male MCs. Bars became my self-defense mechanism. Through lyrics, I encouraged other Latinas that stand around me to stand for themself and also to not stay quiet when something hurts.”
As Ivy continues to flaunt her proud roots, trendy fashion transformations and ability to evolve from reggaeton to bachata and other genres, Billboard asks fans to vote for their favorite Ivy Queen hit on the Hot Latin Songs chart below:

Notably, Farruko is part of the Bob Marley: One Love movie soundtrack with his rendition of Marley’s 1977 hit “Jamming.” “The process was incredible because I got to sample his vocals in a song I was on,” the Puerto Rican artist said in a statement. His version, called “Rasta Reggae,” merges reggae with Latin beats and cultural nods in a way that both honors the original’s influence and highlights his own identity and Caribbean roots.
“It was a wow moment for me, like if I actually recorded with Bob Marley!” he continued. “It was an honor to take part and that this film will show he was more than a leader, he was a prophet, someone who forever changed the music culture and who made it a priority to fight for human rights and peace and equality. I very much identify with him. He has always inspired me and we share something else so special, that island culture, it’s in our blood.”

This week, we also highlight three brand-new albums: Prince Royce’s Llamada Perdida, Greeicy’s Yeliana and Gaby Moreno’s Dusk. The former of the three, home to 23 bachata-heavy tracks, “represent the end of a life chapter for Royce, as well as the acceptance of a new beginning,” as described in a press release. Yeliana is a nine-track set that pays homage to Greeicy’s new motherhood stage; while Moreno’s Dusk is a collision of the best of the American and Latin American worlds — not only combining English and Spanish but also fusing the folklore of both, walking between country music, blues, rock and Latin folk.
Other releases this week include songs by Pepe Aguilar, Grupo Frontera, Luis Fonsi, and more.
