Music fans voted in a poll published Friday (Oct. 25) on Billboard, choosing the BTS star’s rockin’ solo single as their favorite new music release of the past week.
“I’ll Be There” brought in nearly 95% of the vote on the poll, securing a notable edge ahead of new releases from Lady Gaga (“Disease”), Halsey (The Great Impersonator), Addison Rae (“Aquamarine”), Linkin Park (“Over Each Other”), and others.

In an exclusive video interview with Dolby Atmos shared with Billboard, the 31-year-old South Korean singer reveals that he wrote the new song to “provide happiness” to his fans. “When ARMY feel tired and lonely, I hope this song gives them strength,” Jin says in the clip. “I have a very clear idea of what kind of emotions I want to share with our fans,” he adds. “I want our fans, our ARMY, to be happy.”
Jin collaborated with American singer-songwriter MAX to produce “I’ll Be There.” In the music video, he channels rock star energy with an air guitar windmill move and strikes Elvis-inspired poses while confetti showers down around him. By the end of the clip, Jin is joyfully dancing solo in an abandoned parking lot, kicking up his heels as the sun sets behind the bridge.
Jin’s six-track Happy album will feature the focus song “Running Wild,” as well as “I’ll Be There,” “Another Level,” “Falling,” “Heart on the Window” (feat. WENDY)” and “I will come to you.” Jin collaborated with a number of other acts on the album, including Take That’s Gary Barlow, who co-produced and co-wrote “Running Wild.”
Trailing far behind Jin on this week’s poll is Lady Gaga’s “Disease,” which brought in nearly 3% of the vote. “Disease” is the lead single for the pop star and actress’ forthcoming studio album.

“Piece of My Heart,” which dropped Oct. 18, is the lead single from Wizkid’s upcoming sixth studio album, Morayo. The forthcoming set is scheduled to arrive Nov. 22 through Starboy/Sony Music International/RCA Records.

The slinky love jam doesn’t shy away from old-school R&B pleasures and allows the Nigerian superstar to showcase his nimble flow. “Nothing can tear us apart/ You’ve got a piece of my heart/ Nothing can tear us apart (Nothing in this world)/ You’ve got a piece of my heart (That belongs to you girl),” Faiyaz sings in the chorus.
Wizkid has only been featured on a couple of collaborations this year, from “MMS” with Asake on his third album, Lungu Boy, to “Work Me Out” with Shenseea on her sophomore release, Never Gets Late Here. The only collaboration Faiyaz was a part of this year was “Should’ve Wore a Bonnet,” with 21 Savage on his third album, American Dream.
Morayo, which is a Yoruba word for “I see joy,” will arrive two years after Wiz dropped his fifth album, More Love, Less Ego. The 2022 set reached No. 59 on the Billboard 200 and No. 2 on World Albums.
Trailing far behind Wizkid and Faiyaz on this week’s poll is Bruno Mars and ROSÉ’s “APT.,” which brought in 13% of the vote. The BLACKPINK star and Silk Sonic hitmaker’s fresh collaboration finds the duo mixing energetic chants with hooky pop melodies.

BMI announced this week that Alabama frontman Randy Owen will be celebrated as a BMI Icon during the 72nd annual BMI Country Awards on Nov. 19 at the BMI office in Nashville. The award has previously been bestowed on such country greats as Matraca Berg, Toby Keith, Loretta Lynn, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Dolly Parton, Kris Kristofferson, Dean Dillon and Hank Williams Jr.
Owen wrote such signature Alabama hits as “Tennessee River,” “Feels So Right,” “Mountain Music” and “Lady Down on Love.” He was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2013.

Alabama, of course, is one of the most successful country groups in history. They had 33 No. 1 hits on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, stretching from “Tennessee River” in August 1980 to “Old Alabama,” a collab with Brad Paisley, in June 2011.
Alabama was the first act to win entertainer of the year three times at the CMA Awards. They won in that category five times at the ACM Awards. They were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005, becoming just the third group (defined as more than two people) to be so honored, following The Carter Family, Sons of the Pioneers and The Jordanaires.
Remarkably, Alabama hit No. 1 on Hot Country Songs with 21 consecutive singles, discounting a holiday song (“Christmas in Dixie) and another artist’s single on which they were featured (Lionel Richie’s “Deep River Woman”). Their longest-running No. 1, “Jukebox in My Mind,” remained on top for four weeks in September 1990.
One of Alabama’s No. 1 country hits, “Touch Me When We’re Dancing,” had been a No. 1 hit on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart in 1981 for the Carpenters. Another, “Face to Face,” featured an uncredited guest vocal by K.T. Oslin.
