The Weeknd’s latest album ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow’ offers a rollercoaster of styles, moments of brilliance, and a few missteps. From the jump, the intro gives a clear nod to Michael Jackson with a “Thriller”-esque switch-up, setting the tone for what’s to come: an eclectic blend of R&B, drill, and even a little bit of trolling.
The second track, “Cry For Me”, introduces a unique R&B drill sound. The Weeknd croons over the hard-hitting drill beat, expressing his hopes that she’ll cry for him the way he once cried for her. It’s emotionally raw, but the heavy rhythm creates a bit of distance from the sentiment, adding an interesting juxtaposition. “I Can’t F**g Sing” is an unapologetic 10-second interlude that serves as The Weeknd’s playful response to critics who’ve questioned his vocal abilities. It’s a brief but sharp moment of self-aware trolling, letting fans know he’s confident in his talent.
Moving to “São Paulo”, this track feels overloaded with too many ideas. There’s an ambitious mix of sounds, but it ends up feeling disjointed and hard to follow. “Baptized in Fear” suffers the same fate—it’s forgettable and doesn’t make much of an impact. On “Open Hearts”, The Weeknd tries to recapture the magic of “A Lonely Night”, but the result feels like a knockoff. It’s good, but not quite up to par. Meanwhile, “Reflections Laughing” stands out with its raw honesty about mental struggles, featuring a surprise verse from Travis Scott.
The track “Enjoy the Night” would’ve been lackluster if not for Future’s guest verse, which brings a vintage Pluto energy to the song, elevating it significantly. Similarly, “Given Up On Me” is enhanced by Future’s backing vocals, as The Weeknd reflects on his self-doubt and the woman who refuses to leave him.“Timeless” is easily one of the album’s highlights, featuring Playboi Carti. It’s a nearly flawless track, rich in sound and melody, perfectly crafted to be a single. “Niagra Falls” will please longtime fans with its throwback feel, tapping into the “old Weeknd” vibe that made him a star.
The production on “Big Sleep” is undeniably amazing, making it one of the album’s standout tracks. However, “Hurry Up Tomorrow”, the outro, feels like the weakest point of the entire project—forgettable and lacking the emotional punch that usually defines his closers. Overall, Hurry Up Tomorrow is a mixed bag with flashes of brilliance but also a few bumps along the way.

Erykah Badu surprised everyone when she slid into Playboi Carti’s DMs with a simple, sweet message: “Love U, Keep On.” The text was short, but fans were hyped to see the legendary soul singer showing love to the new wave of rap. Carti, who’s known for his wild style and unique music, shared the message, leaving fans wondering what’s really going on between them. New music or is this just completely random?

Badu’s move isn’t too shocking, though. She’s always been about spreading good vibes and supporting other artists, especially ones pushing boundaries like Carti. She’s a queen of the music game, known for her soulful influence, and this random DM just proves she’s all about showing love, no matter how big or small the artist. For Carti, getting props from someone like Erykah Badu is huge. It’s a big stamp of approval from a music legend, showing that even in the rap world, respect and support come from all sides. Badu’s message is just a reminder that no matter the genre, artists gotta support each other and keep grinding.

Playboi Carti commands an exceptional amount of fan appreciation despite just having two studio albums as he reportedly is working on his third release. Playboy Carti saw his name trending on social media after teasing a new track with Lil Uzi Vert and Travis Scott, drumming up even more anticipation for his upcoming project.
Playboy Carti, who turned 27 yesterday (September 13), hosted a massive birthday party in Atlanta with some of his Opium artists such as Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, and others in tow. From the several images that made it to X, formerly known as Twitter, Carti had the joint rocking effortlessly.

It’s been three years since the release of Whole Lotta Red, which remains a favorite among Carti fans. And over the years, Carti would tease new music on social media but nothing would ever materialize but it appears that there is a project slated to come this year.
Carti teased new songs with past collaborators Travis Scott and Lil Uzi Vert, along with the DJ hosting the event playing plenty of Kanye West, also known as Ye. The atmosphere of the birthday party was electric and in several instances, Carti can be seen just soaking it all up.
According to reports, Playboi Carti is working on his third album, tentatively titled Narcissist or Music. There is no set release date.

DJ Akademiks has to explain to himself yet again. Lil Yachty is calling him out for saying Playboi Carti got him to change his style.
As spotted on HipHopDX, the Quality Control Music talent is feeling a ways about the media personality. During a recent Twitch stream, the podcaster made some wild claims about Big Boat. “Lil Yachty in my studio told me, this is before he dropped ‘Poland’ and ‘Strike’ and all this other sh*t. N****a, he said he’s in the studio with Carti, and Carti made him change his entire style. Facts,” he stated. AK went on to add “Once I heard that, I was like, ‘Damn! Carti’s like that?!’ Sorry, I have nothing more to say. Carti’s that n***a.”
Naturally, the claims quickly landed on Lil Yachty’s radar. On Sunday, July 9, the “One Night” rapper took to Twitter to refute the allegations. “@Akademiks u r so insane, I didn’t tell u this at all. Stop drinking bro. I said tyler encouraged me to take that route. Wtf,” he wrote.
Earlier this year, Lil Yachty spoke to Billboard magazineduring his promotional run for Let’s Start Here. In the interview, he credited Tyler, The Creator as one of his biggest supporters to change his musical approach up. “I would love to do a project with Tyler [The Creator],” he said. “He’s the reason I made this album. He’s the one who told me to do it, just go for it. He’s so confident and I have so much respect for him because he takes me seriously, and he always has.”

One of the most popular concerts is back in a big way. Travis Scott And A$AP Rocky will be headlining Rolling Loud Miami 2023.
This week the entertainment entity unveiled the line up for this year’s edition. Taking place at the Hard Rock Stadium the festival will be scheduled throughout three days this summer. Slotted to close each night are Playboi Cart (Friday, July 21), Travis Scott (Saturday, July 22) and A$AP Rocky (Sunday, July 23). Concert goers can also expect performance from other top talents including Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage, Kodak Black, Lil Yachty, Trippie Redd, City Girls, Don Toliver, Ice Spice, Coi Leray, Central Cee, GloRilla, Rae Sremmurd and Freddie Gibbs, and promising prospects like Destroy Lonely, Lola Brooke, Babytron, redveil, Luh Tyler, Bktherula, and many more.

Playboi Carti was arrested under felony charges of domestic violence. Allegedly, late last year, the rapper, born Jason Carter, choked out his girlfriend, over a paternity test.
According to the victim, she’s Carti’s live-in girlfriend and she was 14 months pregnant when he allegedly put hands on her.

According to the arrest affidavit, obtained by TMZ, the woman told police the rapper grabbed her by her throat and pushed her, holding her neck until she could barely breathe. She even told cops she thought she was going to die.
Police say the woman told officers she’s been in a relationship with Playboi Carti for 2 years, has lived with him since July 2022 and was 14 weeks pregnant at the time of the alleged incident on Dec. 20.
Fortunately for the victim, there were witnesses. However, that didn’t stop the incident from escalating.
The woman told cops she wanted to talk to Playboi Carti about the baby and a conversation about a paternity test led to an argument, which she claims escalated to a physical attack. She told police a witness jumped in to try and break up the fight, and when she was able to escape Carti’s grasp, she ran to her car … where she claims he attacked her again.
The alleged victim told cops Carti tried pulling her out of the car and put his hand over her mouth as she tried to use the vehicle’s SOS feature to call police. When cops arrived, police say the woman had visible injuries to her neck, chest and back.
After news of the arrest was made public, rapper Iggy Azalea, who has a child with Carti, chimed in by basically saying “I told you so” in regards to the domestic violence claims.
Unfortunately, rappers putting hands on their partners is not a rarity.
Earlier this week, superstar rappers Future, A$AP Rocky, 21 Savage and Playboi Carti were victims of a massive music leak, which included over 200 unreleased songs.
Future, Rocky, and Savage had two songs leaked, while Playboi Carti had three. The YSL duo of Young Thug and Gunna each experienced losses on a bigger scale, losing 20 records, respectively. SahBabii had 41 tracks leaked, while Yung Nudy suffered the most brutal blow with 172.

Nudy responded to the leaks in a video posted online saying, “I’m a say this sh– one time, bro. I don’t know if y’all know, I’m not like other rappers, bro. I’m 100 percent finna take my time out to find out 100 percent who exactly is leaking my music. And I’m 100 percent gonna pull up at whatever studio it is, and I’m 100 percent gon’ beat your ass, on my mama.”
The unreleased records featured some promising collaborations. For Gunna, he has a potential song with Lil Baby titled “Sunfall” and another one called “On Sight” with Roddy Ricch. On the list, A$AP Rocky has two records with Playboi Carti, one named “Go.”
Two weeks ago, Latto underwent a similar issue when she reportedly had 130 songs leak online, including unreleased collaborations and reference tracks for several prominent songs such as Bia’s “Whole Lotta Money” and Coi Leray’s “Blick Blick.” Bia quashed claims of any possible ghostwriting help, tweeting: “No London jae wrote the hook, I wrote the pre and verse it’s not rocket science.”
