When reaching a notable milestone, some people are honored with a certificate, trophy or plaque. Sometimes, there might even be some music and a meal as part of the celebration. But when it comes to surpassing the one billion streams mark on Spotify, some musicians have a little extra fun marking the moment. Artists who […]

“I forgot to wear the knee pads,” Karol G says ruefully. “I’m going to have scrapes.” She beams. For a soaking wet pop star who has just been dragged through a shallow pool, Karol looks remarkably happy. Moments before, a group of writhing, shirtless male dancers had lifted Karol, dressed in a white bikini and transparent […]

The 2023 Billboard Music Awards are taking place Sunday, Nov. 19, and features a star-studded lineup of performers, not to mention some of the music industry’s biggest stars accepting their trophies with heartfelt speeches. The first performance of the night was delivered by Colombian superstar Karol G, who opened with a medley of “Qlona,” “Ojos Ferrari” and “Labios Mordidos.” The former two are off her hit album Manana Sera Bonito, and the last is a collab with Kali Uchis from Kali’s upcoming set, Orquídeas. Karol is a finalist in five categories.

Bebe Rexha and David Guetta took the stage next to perform their hit “I’m Good (Blue)” and follow-up “One in a Million.” The former is competing in three categories: top dance/electronic song, top Billboard Global (Excl. U.S.) song and top collaboration.
The ceremony is also set to feature performances by Mariah Carey, Peso Pluma, Stray Kids, new Billboard cover star Tate McRae, Morgan Wallen and others.
This year’s BBMAs — which are presented by Marriott Bonvoy — were rolled out with an innovative concept that entertained with not only performances, but exclusive content, behind-the-scenes moments, winner celebrations and more created by the artists.
The ceremony spans across genres, from pop to country, rock, Afrobeats, Latin, hip-hop and beyond. The BBMAs are also introducing nine new awards, including several in the ever-growing K-pop field, and two in Afrobeats. Also new are the Hot 100 songwriter and producer awards, and top rock duo/group.
The 2023 Billboard Music Awards are streaming from BBMAs.watch and via Billboard and the BBMAs’ social channels. Keep scrolling to see some of the best photos from the show.

Tate McRae was recently scrolling TikTok when an old interview she did at 16 came across the screen. “I was the most awkward person ever, and I was like, ‘There’s no chance that this is the same person,’ ” she says with a grimace. “You evolve so much, and not only am I seeing it, […]

Here’s the best photos from the 2023 CMA Awards red carpet.

Lynn Goldsmith, who calls herself a “quote-unquote rock ’n’ roll photographer,” returned to her late-‘70s muse, Bruce Springsteen, for her new picture book covering the E Street Band’s Darkness On the Edge of Town period. She had unprecedented access to Springsteen and cohorts such as guitarist Steven Van Zandt, the late saxophonist Clarence Clemons and […]

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame red carpet welcomed a slew of stars to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Friday (Nov. 3) night to honor the Rock Hall’s Class of 2023.This year sees the induction of Kate Bush, Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott, George Michael, Willie Nelson, Rage Against the Machine and The Spinners. Additionally, DJ Kool Herc and Link Wray see induction in the musical influence category; Chaka Khan, Al Kooper and Taupin enter the ranks in the musical excellence field; and Don Cornelius is inducted with the Ahmet Ertegun Award.
The eclectic Rock Hall Class of 2023 brought out performers and presenters who spanned hip-hop, rock, pop, R&B and country: Adam Levine, Brandi Carlile, Carrie Underwood, Chris Stapleton, Common, Dave Matthews, Elton John, H.E.R., Ice-T, LL Cool J, Miguel, New Edition, Olivia Rodrigo, Queen Latifah, Sia, Stevie Nicks and St. Vincent.
Even before the ceremony started, the Barclays Center was lit. When it was announced that LED wristbands, which were provided for the audience, would factor into Missy Elliott’s performance, the crowd roared its excitement to see the hip-hop trailblazer take the stage.
The night of the show, Kate Bush confirmed she would not be attending.
“I am completely blown away by this huge honour – an award that sits in the big beating heart of the American music industry. Thank you so much to everyone who voted for me. I never imagined I would be given this wonderful accolade.”
Bush didn’t provide a reason for her absence, but the art rock icon is known as an artist who shies away from the spotlight (not to mention that she doesn’t exactly love flying). “I’m afraid I won’t be able to attend the ceremony tonight, but for me the real honour is knowing that you felt I deserved it.”

When artists are not busy working on music, promoting new projects or taking their concert experiences on the road, one way for them to kick back and relax is through watching sporting events — basketball, football, soccer and everything in between — and some of them are doing it live and in person to support their significant others.
Taylor Swift is one such musician. The pop super star, who is dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce,  first started attending games in September 2023 and has frequented multiple matches at Arrowhead Stadium since.
Swift, however, isn’t the only pop star who has made supporting her partner courtside or from the stands a regular thing. Ciara is a fan of football as well, and has been spotted at NFL games cheering on her husband, Russell Wilson, quarterback for the Denver Broncos. Shakira, while she was still dating Spanish soccer star Gerard Piqué (the pair ended their relationship in early 2023), was often spotted in the stands, sometimes taking their sons Milan and Sasha to watch their dad play.
From Carrie Underwood to Enrique Iglesias and more, Billboard takes a look at musicians who have supported their athlete partners at sporting events.
