As the summer gets gnarly and people get ready to live their best lives, Billboard Editorial has put together a list of our top 10 predictions for Song of the Summer, presented by Amazon Prime.

Drake’s comeback bop hasn’t hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 yet, but with even Travis Scott playing it during his Coachella set, everybody is blasting “Nokia.” We all love a sample, and it’s one of the reasons Leon Thomas’ “Mutt” is so contagious. Morgan Wallen’s recently released track with Tate McRae is a smash out the gate and definitely a contender. Fans are obsessed with Jessie Murph’s “Blue Strips.” BigXthaPlug grabbed a Hot 100 top 10 when he joined the world of country with Bailey Zimmerman. And KATSEYE has been hitting stages and making everybody question what’s “Gnarly,” including slaying in a TikTok with us.

Sombr has us all in the feels this summer with “Undressed.” And from touring with Sabrina Carpenter to having her own hit almost 10 years into her career, “Love Me Not” is a smash. Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” is everywhere, and like Drake’s “Nokia,” he’s only hit No. 2 on the Hot 100, but feels like the top of the chart is within his grasp. And you may have been hearing a lot of “DTMF” coming from Benito, but we have another Bad Bunny track on our radar.

I think it’s everything. I am always really proud, extremely proud of Hermosillo and try to take it anywhere. It has given me many things, right? As it’s near the border, and it’s not a big city it still keeps many of its traditions that are really rooted. So this mixture of modern and rooter things and everything that came to us for being so near to the border.

The menu today of fire and ice — for the fire, all things coming off the grill, grilled sea scallops with this aji Amarillo and clarified butter. These amazing, amazing head-on shrimp, marinated red chili. We’ve got some grilled New York strips, a la Fiorentina with special herbs, grilled lemon juice. And then for the ice — my favorite part, by the way, is shrimp cocktail, Porter and ceviche. It’s one tuna, one hamachi, one scallop, we call Michi Lada, and also escolar.

In order to feel confident on a red carpet where all cameras are flashing your way, I feel like it’s very important to bring your A game. My natural element is usually brown tones, but tonight I’m going for something that feels sensual and a little bit mysterious. One of the most important steps of the red carpet prep is definitely moisturizing my body. I’m really, really enthusiastic about glowy skin. The Brazilian Bum Bum Cream by Sol de Janeiro really, really accomplishes that for me. It really saves the day. One of my best beauty secrets is that I spray Cheirosa 62 Perfume Mist on the top of the cream. That combo is undefeated, that makes me smell amazing. Every time I hug somebody on the red carpet, they’re always just complimenting my smell. My daughter Hazel, I actually also spray Cheirosa 62 on her that I feel like helps comfort her at school too, because she smells like mama. To me, it smells like summer in a bottle. What is your preferred prerecording ritual? My preferred prerecording ritual is meditating. Meditating is super important for me to just clear out my ears. I like to be as authentic as possible.

When do you like to record? I like to record at night. My voice is a little raspy right when I wake up. You don’t want that.

What kind of vibe do you like in the studio? Essentials only. I get very irritated if there’s distractions — too many bodies, people talking while I’m trying to record.

Extracurricular activities? No, get out.

What kind of treats do you prefer in the studio? I prefer sweet treats in the studio, mostly fruit. I don’t really do, like, junk food.

Julia Michaels hits the studio and chats with Muni Long ahead of Billboard Women in Music 2025 and introducing her as the recipient of the Rising Star Award presented by Honda Stage.

Julia Michaels:

I first discovered my love for music when I was a teenager, and then my mom got me a piano, then just started putting all my poems to a song that way, and I was like a really shy, introverted, homeschooled girl, and so for me, that was just my way of finding my identity. What makes a really great artist is someone that can be just very authentically themselves. And for me, coming up it was Muni. Hi, Muni. 

Muni Long:

How are you, darling?

Julia Michaels:

I’m good. I’m so good. I’m so excited to talk to you. Being an independent artist allows me more freedom. That is, like, the biggest thing that I think about with Muni. It’s hard to do and it’s scary to do, and she’s done it so well. Honda Stage is an incredible program for music discovery, and I couldn’t be more excited for Muni. 

Muni Long:

So you are the recipient of the Rising Star Award. No one really is more deserving of it than you. 

Thank you, and I’m so grateful that it gets to be you, your journey, when you made the transition from songwriter to artist. I remember that, and I remember watching and being like, it’s possible. 

Julia Michaels:

I think when I was coming up, it felt way more competitive. Now everybody works with everybody.

I first discovered my love for music in the womb. My mother was a singer. My biological father sang. It was just sort of always there. I saw a few artists in concert, and I was like, “Yeah, I want to do that.” And no one ever told me that I couldn’t. I was so oblivious to disbelief. I was like, “Why can’t I have it?” I was really good in school, but I just wanted to be on TV. I was one of the first people to go viral singing the dictionary. I could sing the dictionary. It might not be very entertaining, but I’m gonna do it. “Superpowers” is the first song of my album. In a world that is so negative, it is a superpower to maintain your light and to walk in brightness. Worry about yourself. Don’t worry about nothing else. Don’t let nobody make you feel guilty. Just go do what makes you happy.
