The Trump administration has been critical of Nigeria, citing reports of Christians being killed. Superstar rapper Nicki Minaj is now lending her support toward attempts by the U.S. to ease that group’s plight and will meet with the White House and the U.S. envoy to the United Nations, Mike Waltz. The two are expected to deliver remarks after that meeting on Tuesday (Nov. 18).

The Pink Friday artist gushed over the opportunity, responding in a post on X, formerly Twitter. “Ambassador, I am so grateful to be entrusted with an opportunity of this magnitude,” she wrote. “I do not take it for granted. It means more than you know. The Barbz & I will never stand down in the face of injustice. We’ve been given our influence by God. There must be a bigger purpose.”

Nicki Minaj previously spoke out about the situation earlier this month, writing: “No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion. We don’t have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other. Numerous countries all around the world are being affected by this horror & it’s dangerous to pretend we don’t notice.”

Trump has targeted Nigeria before, placing the country on a U.S. religious freedom watchlist during his first term. His rhetoric condemning the violent extremism in Nigeria has become more brash, as he wrote in a video released on Truth Social that he would “do things to Nigeria that Nigeria is not going to be happy about” and that the U.S. would “go into that now-disgraced country guns-a-blazing.”

Nigeria is experiencing a problem with violent extremist groups such as Boko Haram and other jihadist groups, such as ISWAP (Islamic State West Africa Province), who have launched insurgencies to establish a caliphate in the western part of the nation since 2009. Daniel Bwala, aide to Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, said in a statement: “Nigeria is a partner nation to the U.S., not a hostile one. The ‘Christian genocide’ narrative is a misrepresentation of our complex security reality, which affects citizens of all faiths.”

According to reporting by the BBC, the figures being touted apparently come from a 2023 report by non-governmental organization InterSociety, claiming that 100,000 Christians had been killed in fighting since 2009, along with 60,000 “moderate Muslims.” Security experts in the nation of 220 million state that ethnic tensions, more than religious tensions, might be the main cause.

Right in the middle of some courtroom drama, Nicki Minaj just got hit with a curveball.

Reports recently came out that the NY rapper’s lawyer, Judd Burstein, abruptly backed out of his duties. Nicki has been a longtime client of Burstein, which made the situation even more bizarre. The timing couldn’t be worse, as the Starships artist is in the middle of a $10 million legal battle. With little time to spare, the leader of the Barbz has been scrambling to find a new representation.

The Northstar Group submitted a letter to the judge asking for an extended time on the case since they have recently lost their lawyer.

“The same day, Mr. Burstein abruptly withdrew entirely from his representation of [Nicki and her company], without giving any prior notice. [Minaj and her company] intend to appear and defend themselves in this matter, and we are requesting a stay of the proceedings including all deadlines and further motion practice, so that [Minaj and her company] may have time to find and retain new litigation counsel, have counsel review the case file, confer with their new counsel, and prepare any responsive filings in an orderly manner.”

Nicki Lewinski requested an additional 45 days to get a new lawyer to take on her case.

Burstein made a statement to US Magazine on stepping down from representing Minaj, “After I won a dismissal of Tameer Peak’s defamation lawsuit against Nicki in New Jersey, I declined the opportunity to represent her when Peak refiled it in New York. I believe that it would be inappropriate for me to discuss the reasons why I chose to decline the representation.”

Nicki Minaj is showing serious love for Donald Trump — again. She recently showed even more love for Donald Trump after he used one of her songs on a White House TikTok.

As per TMZ, Nicki Minaj was pretty geeked that Donald Trump’s Cabinet is leaning into her discography for a social media play. This week, the official White House account shared a video of Donald Trump and Melania Trump doing their signature offbeat jig to a tune that incorporates a mashup of Onika’s “Beez In The Trap.” The caption simply reads “The best to ever do it 🇺🇸.” As expected, the news of this administration tapping into this track specifically, with curses included, quickly went viral and landed on Nicki’s radar. She promptly commented on the post saying, “This is pretty incredible. Thank you.”

The “Super Freaky Girl” MC later took to X, formerly Twitter, to further thank Trump and Melania. “The President & First Lady of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Barbz, idk which one of you uploaded this to the white house TikTok but just know unlimited backstage GAG CITY FOR LIFE Idk what timeline we’re on right now, I’m just goin w|the flow,” she wrote.

This is the second time in the last couple of weeks Nicki Minaj has shown gratitude to Donald Trump. On Oct. 31, she personally praised the POTUS on social media for his stance on Nigeria and deeming the country to be a concern due to violence against Christian believers. Unsurprisingly, this led to many questioning if Nicki Minaj is now siding with one of the most polarizing figures ever to hold the United States presidential seat. “@NICKIMINAJ is a MAGA y’all I’m in shock,” one user wrote. While another added, “MAGA Nicki is not on my bingo card.”

Donald Trump nor the White House have yet to respond Nicki Minaj directly.

Nicki Minaj’s most recent social media moves might have landed her back in the hot seat. She recently praised President Trump, and it sent the Barbs flying.

As per Newsweek, Nicki Minaj showed some support to President Donald Trump last week, and it was met with both praise and side eyes. On Friday (October 31), the reality television star turned politician took to Truth Social and deemed the circumstances for Christian believers in Nigeria as an “existential threat.”

He also went on to say that thousands are being killed by Radical Islamists and made Nigeria a “COUNTRY OF PARTICULAR CONCERN.” His stance must have aligned with Nicki Minaj’s values because she reposted his message and thanked him for voicing his concern publicly.

“Reading this made me feel a deep sense of gratitude. We live in a country where we can freely worship God. No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion,” the “Bang Bang” rapper wrote. “We don’t have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other. Numerous countries all around the world are being affected by this horror & it’s dangerous to pretend we don’t notice. Thank you to The President & his team for taking this seriously. God bless every persecuted Christian. Let’s remember to lift them up in prayer.”

As expected, aligning with President Trump wasn’t well received by her loyal fanbase, causing some Barbs to call out the obvious.

“Girl trump is threatening to start war with Venezuela and putting Trinidad in the middle of it. And your goofy dumbass is endorsing him? They should’ve kept ya stupid ass in Trinidad omg,” one user wrote. Another account on X, formerly Twitter, added that given her recent actions on social media, he isn’t surprised one bit.

“Nicki’s metamorphosis into Azalea Banks was not on my bingo . . . actually, nevermind, this tracks,” the user wrote.

While Nicki Minaj has never confirmed whether she claims a specific political party, she has a long history of supporting presidential hopefuls. She once rapped “I’m a Republican voting for Mitt Romney” on a mixtape freestyle, but also has shouted out Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton in separate songs. Politics aside, Nicki knows exactly how to keep the timeline talking.

Nicki Minaj is loved worldwide, but seeing Donald Trump’s granddaughter as a fan? That’s pretty random.

Kai Trump recently was doing a TikTok trend that had the Queens ‘ “Beez In The Trap” song. Trump’s granddaughter, alongside her friend Emma Markin, was rapping their hearts out to Nicki’s chorus. An online user reposted the video on X and tagged Nicki Minaj. This is where the legendary female rapper saw the video. Sending Kai and Emma a heart emoji for supporting the song.

This is not the first time Minaj showed the Trump family love, as she shouted out the president earlier in the month, “Flattering photos are allowed to be posted of me again. Thanks, POTUS. Epiphany had politicians thinking she would lead them to victory. Had Live Nation thinking she knew her sh*t. How much money did VP Harris have stacked up for her campaign, again? Yikes.”

In other news, the Starships rapper has been beefing with Jay-Z, which resulted in her putting new music on ice. She alleged that Hov and Roc Nation have allegedly tried to blackball her. Also adding a jab at Jay’s failed attempt at getting a Casino in NY, “They came BEGGING the QUEEN for a tour & album & I said NOPE!!!!! LMFAO. Wanted to patch it up. They needed help from the QUEEN & the BARBZ. I called the Barbz on the secret BARB phone & it was resounding NOOOOOOOO. Just like the casinoooooooooo”.

Shannon Sharpe is now eating his social media words. He has apologized to Nicki Minaj after she cleared him on a new Lil Wayne remix.

As per Complex, the media personality was put on blast by the self-proclaimed Queen of Rap. This week, Lil Wayne dropped the remix to “Banned From NO.” On the track, she took some indirect shots at your favorite sports Unc. “Bout to cop you slides, all you do is flip-flop / If I send a pic of Shannon, you ain’t that Sharpe,” she said. The bars seemed to be a direct response to the social media post the ESPN analyst made back in February 2024 when an X user asked him if he would have Nicki on as a guest to which he responded Nicki who?

As expected the song quickly landed on Shannon Sharpe’s radar. During a recent episode of Nightcap, he clarified the X post and issued an apology to Nicki. “I used to go back and forth with people. I was talking about Nikki Haley,” he explained. “Nikki Haley said it’s really great for everybody of Black America, and I was like… ‘When has it ever been great?’” He went on to add, “So somebody says Nicki really wants to come on your podcast. I’m like, ‘Nicki who?’”

Shannon Sharpe then said sorry for causing any confusion between the two. “Nicki, I apologize. I meant no disrespect. You’ll always have an open invitation if you ever want to come sit down and have a conversation. Even if you just want to have a private conversation on the phone or something. It won’t go any further between you and I.”

Nicki Minaj hops on the remix of Lil Wayne’s track “Banned From NO,” a fan favorite from his “Tha Carter VI” album.

While the queen wasn’t on the original version, she’s now back with some hard-hitting bars, and a few surprising shots at some well-known names.

One line that’s getting a lot of attention is aimed at sports commentator Shannon Sharpe. Nicki raps, “’Bout to cop you slides, all you do is flip-flop, if I send a pic of Shannon, you ain’t that Sharpe.” Many fans were confused at first, wondering why she would call him out. But Nicki later explained that years ago, Sharpe tweeted “Nicki who?” in a shady way. She clearly didn’t forget, and now she’s firing back in a verse. She even joked that she almost threw a shot at Chad Ochocinco too, since he’s often on shows with Sharpe, but decided not to.

Nicki also took a subtle jab at Jay-Z and the NFL. This year’s Super Bowl was held in New Orleans, Lil Wayne’s hometown, and many fans were upset that he wasn’t picked to perform at halftime. Instead, the NFL chose Kendrick Lamar. Nicki called it out in her lyrics, saying, *“NFL, fire some n*ggas and then call us,” hinting that the league only works with Black artists when it benefits them. She didn’t mention Jay-Z by name, but since he helps run the NFL’s entertainment deals, many believe the line was allegedly directed at him.
Whether she’s defending Lil Wayne or settling old scores, Nicki proves once again that she’s not afraid to speak her mind, and still knows how to grab everyone’s attention.

Take a look at some of the funniest reactions from the Barbz to Nicki Minaj sounding off on Shannon Sharpe and Jay-Z below.

It’s been a year and six months since Nicki Minaj released her last studio album, Pink Friday 2, and while her fans were hoping to get a new LP from their queen sooner rather than later, it seems like the Barb isn’t going to be rushing to appease her day one’s demands anytime soon.

While fans have been patiently waiting the release of Pink Friday 2 (The Hiatus) or even a Pink Friday 3, Nicki Minaj has relented on releasing a new solo project for the past year and change. In a new interview for Vogue Italia‘s June issue, the “Super Freaky Girl” artist explained the reasoning for her holdup. Admitting that she does indeed have some new work in the chamber for her fans to groove to, Nicki stated that though the project she’s working on had some “really strong songs,” she didn’t want to “rush” the release as she isn’t out just to make a buck at this point in her career.

“I want the album to mean something, for the fans and for me,” Nicki explained and added “I will never be one of those people who releases songs just for the sake of it.”

We’re not sure if she’s taking a subliminal at any of her rap rivals with that last statement, but we’re sure fans will somehow label it as such even if Nicki didn’t intend for it to be a shot at anyone.

That being said, this really shouldn’t be too surprising. Nicki is known to take anywhere between two to four years in between her project releases. Yes, she might have teased a new project was coming sooner than later, but given everything she’s been dealing with in her personal life as of late, we can’t blame her for taking a step back from her creative process to get her house in order.

What do y’all think about Nicki Minaj taking her time to release her next album? How long are you willing to wait for a new Nicki Minaj project before you give up hope a la Dr. Dre’s Detox? Let us know in the comments section below.

In a recent appearance on Nick Cannon’s podcast, Birdman revealed that Lil Wayne, Drake, and Nicki Minaj, often referred to as his “Big 3,” have collectively generated over $2 billion for Cash Money Records.

Birdman emphasized the massive cultural and financial impact these artists have had on the label and the music industry as a whole. He credited Wayne as the catalyst, not only for his own groundbreaking success, but for discovering and mentoring both Drake and Nicki Minaj, who each went on to become global superstars in their own right.

Baby also highlighted his broader influence in the rap game, naming artists like Future, Young Thug, and NBA YoungBoy as talents he supported early in their careers. He sees his role not just as a label executive, but as a builder of legacies, someone who has helped shape the sound and direction of Hip-Hop over the last two decades.

Cash Money Records, founded in 1991 by brothers Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams in New Orleans, quickly rose to prominence in the late ’90s with acts like Juvenile, B.G., and the Hot Boys, which included a young Lil Wayne.

The label became known for its Southern bounce sound and aggressive business strategy. After partnering with Universal Music Group, Cash Money solidified itself as a powerhouse. With Wayne, Drake, and Nicki leading the charge in the 2000s and 2010s, Cash Money transformed from a regional label into a global brand with a lasting legacy in Hip-Hop.

Just when it seemed like the “swatting celebrities” craze had died down, Nicki Minaj experienced what some of her superstar peers had to go through.

According to TMZ, Nicki Minaj became the latest target of a swatting incident after police swarmed her residence in Los Angeles following a 911 call from someone claiming that gunfire erupted on her property this past Wednesday night (April 9). While swatting had become a thing for politicians during the Trump era as MAGA fanatics loved to make life miserable for various anti-Trump congressmen and women, it soon became a trend amongst celebrity haters who wanted to interrupt the peaceful lives of a star they had animosity towards.

Naturally, we’ll probably never know who decided to sic the police on Nicki Minaj’s home, but we’re just glad no one was hurt as in instances like this things can go left and someone could lose their life. RIP Young Scooter.

Per TMZ:

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … shortly after 7 PM yesterday, the L.A. County Sheriff’s Dept. received a call reporting an assault at a residence in Hidden Hills, where Nicki lives.

Deputies rushed to the scene … where they found no one at home, and no issues in the area.

The Los Angeles Times reports an unidentified person called the sheriff’s business line — not 911 — to report someone had shot a Black woman at Nicki’s address, and two people were still at the scene. The call was later classified as swatting.

Unfortunately for Nicki, this isn’t the first time she’s been a victim of swatting. Back in 2023, police also swarmed her LA home twice after receiving a call of her child being abused in July and one claiming that someone had been shot in her house in August.

Before anyone jumps to conclusions as to who may have made this call, no, it wasn’t her rival Cardi B… we think. Could’ve been Safaree though (we kid we kid).

What do y’all think about Nicki Minaj getting swatted again? Should police figure out how to track these kinds of callers down? Let us know in the comments section below.
