In the 48 hours following the announcement that Kendrick Lamar would be headlining the Super Bowl Halftime show in New Orleans next February, Jay-Z’s Hip-Hop peers continue to pile on the criticism as many feel that Lil Wayne should’ve gotten the nod over Kung Fu Kenny.

After the likes of Lil Wayne’s studio engineer and Master P spoke on the subject, Nicki Minaj and Birdman have taken to social media to take shots at Jay-Z for overlooking Nawlins native, Weezy for the Super Bowl festivities. Taking to Twitter to express her outrage over the choice, Nicki blasted Hov with a pointed tweet saying the decision to have Kendrick Lamar over Lil Wayne was driven by Jay-Z’s “ego” and that he was simply punishing Lil Wayne over his hatred for Birdman, Drake and even herself.

We didn’t even know Jay hated them.

Still, Nicki continued to ride for Wayne while taking shots at Jay for being “spiteful” and apparently even some of Roc Nation’s employees.

Birdman meanwhile weighed in on the situation himself but refrained from going all out as Nicki Minaj did in her posts.

Keep in mind Jay-Z paid off Lil Wayne’s multi-million dollar tax lien more than a decade ago when Wayne and Birdman were on the outs. So there’s that.
While many assume the decision to have Kendrick Lamar perform at the Super Bowl was strictly on Jay-Z, apparently the host city gets to pick who they want to perform the Super Bowl Halftime show after they’re presented with a list of names. In other words, Jay-Z didn’t choose Kendrick Lamar, New Orleans did. allegedly. Whether Wayne was on that short list or not is anyone’s guess, but it seems like everyone is hating on Jay-Z for a decision where he probably didn’t have the final say.
That being said, we doubt that the city of New Orleans is going to interject and reveal that it was they, and not Jay-Z who chose Kendrick Lamar and not Lil Wayne. Not after they’ve seen the backlash that Jay-Z got anyway.
What do y’all think about the outrage over Lil Wayne’s snub for the Super Bowl Halftime show in New Orleans? Let us know in the comments section below.

Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth “Zoo” Petty had one job. However, the level two registered sex offender decided to hurl a gay slur while on TikTok Live on Friday (August 30) with his wife and it didn’t go well for him.

“Don’t you let anybody or anything steal your mother f*cking joy,” said Nicki in the video, while Petty was seated behind her. He then proceeded to utterly fail the assignment.
He added, “That’s right, especially little f*ggots or f*ck boys.”
Besides the recklessness of his commentary, fans were also pissed that she didn’t say anything to correct his hate speech. Then there’s the elephant in the room that a healthy chunk of Minaj’s fans are gay men, or you would hope, people who aren’t with homophobia.
Don’t take our word for it, peep the various reactions in the gallery below.

Nicki Minaj is dealing with a new legal battle, this time with a fan who claimed that she relentlessly slandered him online.
According to reports, Nicki Minaj is being sued by a former fan who alleges that the rap star humiliated him by slandering him repeatedly despite his avid support of her. The lawsuit was filed in a Los Angeles, California, court by Tameer Peak. Peak is suing for $5 million in damages for reputational harm, financial loss, and emotional distress. In the documents of the lawsuit, Peak states that he has been one of Nicki Minaj’s biggest fans for over 15 years and was instrumental in the social media promotion of Pink Friday 2, which was a boost to her career.

Peak says that the relationship changed amid the “Nicki Hate Train,” which took place in 2017 where the rapper accused several fans of hers of being moles who were tasked with sabotaging her. He also claims that Minaj berated him on an Instagram livestream that had over 100,000 viewers after inviting him to her hotel room to film, and that her husband, Kenneth Petty, assaulted him during a fan event at the 2020 Super Bowl in Tampa, Florida. The suit also claims that Peak received messages from other fans earlier this year to “stop saying dumb s–t,” and would fire insults at him in online sessions with fans, which included, “It’s clear they’re not necessarily, you know, a full basket umm at the picnic.” She also allegedly claimed the Newark, New Jersey, resident was on welfare and that he was a “stalker” who impersonated members of her team.
Peak has gained some notoriety in the past for being a superfan, having gained some fame for showing up to Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour in Philadelphia last year in an alien costume. “Mr. Peak has been harassing Nicki on social media for years on end to no avail,” said Nicki Minaj’s attorney Judd Bernstein in a statement. “He has now graduated to seeking to shake her down financially with manifestly false allegations and legally frivolous claims. He will regret having gone down this disreputable road when he is forced to pay her legal fees as required by California law.”

Barbz beware…Nicki Minaj is releasing a deluxe edition of her fifth studio album Pink Friday 2. The album, released in December 2023, was Minaj’s first full-length album in five years.

The album is sample-heavy “Barbie Dangerous” interpolates Notorious B.I.G.’s “Notorious Thugs,” while “Pink Friday Girls” samples Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” and “Super Freaky Girl” samples Rick James’ “Super Freak,” according to HypeBeast.

There is no official release date for the new album, but that is not stopping the Barbz from making noise online.

Meanwhile, Nicki also announced that she is headed back out on tour. The Pink Friday 2 World Tour: Gag City Reloaded will kick off on September 4 in Philadelphia and close on October 11 in Nicki’s hometown of Queens, NY.

August 21st was a busy day for Nicki who also went on a rant throwing shots at who, some believe, were Ice Spice and JT. She also unfollowed both of them on Instagram.

“Don’t ask me about nobody,” she said in the voice message. “If you don’t see someone around me, don’t ask me about them. Go and talk to them,” she added. “The truth of the matter is that y’all don’t want to know the truth of the matter.”

Bloggers beware as the words you spew about some of today’s top artists can easily come back and bite you in the ass in a court of law.

A year after Cardi B took popular vlogger Tasha K to the cleaners at the tune of $3.4 million for defamatory comments, her rival Nicki Minaj has just settled a similar situation as she and celebrity blogger, Marley Green, aka Nosey Heaux have come to an agreement over some comments Green made about Minaj and her 1-year-old son, Papa Bear.

According to XXL, Nicki Minaj sued Marley Green for posting a video in which she called Nicki a “cokehead” without any proof whatsoever. Though they settled the matter without Green having to cough up any kind of cash, the agreement does include four breaches that prevent Green from speaking falsely of the Queen rapper and her son.
XXL reports:
Those four breaches are:

(I) She will never make any statement, directly or indirectly about Nicki.
(II) She will never state or express her opinion, directly or indirectly, that [Nicki] has engaged in any criminal or unethical conduct, or otherwise engaged in conduct which reflects poorly on [Nicki’s] integrity.
(III) She will never retweet, otherwise post on social media, or publicly recount, directly or indirectly, another person’s statement (including, but not limited to any statements published in any media outlet) of alleged fact or opinion that [Nicki] has engaged in criminal or unethical conduct, or otherwise engaged in conduct which reflects poorly on her integrity.
(IV) She will never mention, directly or indirectly, [Nicki’s] husband or child in public, each of whom shall be deemed an express third-party beneficiary of this stipulation.

Any violations of these breaches will lead to Green having to pay up $50,000 per false comment.
Tasha K somewhere wishing she spoke about Nicki Minaj instead of Cardi B because Nicki would’ve basically left her off with a warning. Cardi B left her bank account as broke as a joke. Who would’ve thought?
Now that rappers are fighting back against bloggers via legal action, it will be interesting to see which social media personality jumps out the window next with some wild theories or accusations and how that will play out in a court of law.
What do y’all think about Nicki Minaj settling this court case the way she did? Should she have went for the money like Cardi B, or did this suffice? Let us know in the comments section below.

Nicki Minaj has left her fans in suspense and others speculating if she and her husband are divorcing after she made cryptic social media posts.Fans of rap superstar Nicki Minaj are concerned as two social media posts that she recently made seem to hint at a split between her and her husband Kenneth Petty. The speculation started as she simply wrote “Yes Single…” in a post on X, formerly Twitter on Monday (June 10). It led fans to openly wonder if she was referring to that potential split or new music being released.

The uneasy feeling was compounded by a video that Nicki Minaj shared to her Instagram Stories a few hours later. She spoke sleepily in a soft voice about the struggles of motherhood, drawing from her own experience in giving birth to her son with Petty, nicknamed “Papa Bear” in September 2020. “And then one day, they’re yelling ‘push’ and you’re in pain,” she said while dressed in a white robe with a large pink satin bonnet on her head. “Then one day, comes out a beautiful baby boy. Thank God for your glory. Congratulations to every mama out there, you’re doing a great job. In case no one’s told you that, you’re doing a great job.”
It’s been a tough road for the Pink Friday 2 artist in the last few months. She recently was arrested in Amsterdam in May for marijuana possession. The incident led her to have to cancel the Pink Friday 2 World Tour date in that city, and the 41-year-old stated that she was disrespected in the wake of the arrest. Her most recent tour date was on Tuesday (June 11)I in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Minaj also spoke about the tension that arose between her and Petty after the birth of their son in a Vogue interview in December 2023. “I’m not going to lie, things got testy between us,” Minaj said. “Because of our history, I think we knew we’d get past it. But there’s no such thing as confidence in parenthood.” She’d go on to add, “I kind of wish that someone had told me — although I’m sure I wouldn’t have been able to understand it — that there’s a level of anxiety, and you think it’s going to go away, but in fact it gets scarier.”

On Saturday, May 25, it was reported that Nicki Minaj had been detained by authorities in Amsterdam after she was found in possession of marijuana (we thought that was legal there). As a result, some shows of her Pink Friday World Tour have been canceled as she deals with her overseas legal matters.

According to Variety, Nicki Minaj’s shows in Amsterdam (scene of the crime) has been canceled as the Queens rapper doesn’t seem to want to return to the place that caused her a headache last weekend. Nicki livestreamed the incident as it was unfolding on her official IG page and though she assured police that she didn’t have anything on her person, they still took her in but eventually released her after it was all said and done.
Variety reports:

On Friday, Dutch promoter Mojo announced on its website that Minaj’s June 2 show at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome had been canceled. “Due to the events of last week, the Nicki Minaj show on Sunday, 2nd June at Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam will no longer be taking place,” the company’s statement reads. “Tickets will be refunded at the point of sale.”
On May 25, Minaj was detained while leaving Amsterdam after kicking off the tour there when Dutch authorities claimed the rapper had marijuana in her luggage. Minaj documented the experience on social media, denying their claims. However, she was still placed in a police vehicle holding cell and had to postpone her show in Manchester, England that night.
While she could very well perform at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome, Nicki’s decided to forego the show, and her representatives aren’t saying anything pertaining to the show’s cancellation.
Why do you think Nicki Minaj canceled her show? Sour grapes or just because? Let us know in the comments section below.

Nicki Minaj was arrested while in Amsterdam on Saturday, May 25. But no need to panic, she was released hours later—putting her Barbz in an emotional tailspin witnessed on social media.
Minaj is currently on the international leg of her Pink Friday 2 Tour. All was going swimmingly with sold out shows and all that, and then Amsterdam decided to throw her travels for a loop. Nicki was on her way to the UK to perform, but authorities at the airport wanted to do a deep search of her luggage, and allegedly found drugs.
Per 2024 protocol, Nicki Minaj posted the Ops requesting the search on her Twitter.

And ish went left after that.
Reports TMZ:
The officers ask Nicki to stop filming them and step into their police vehicle … while Minaj says she wants to speak with her lawyer and refuses to turn the camera off. Nicki ultimately gets into the police van of her own volition — no handcuffs as far as we can tell.
Robert Kapel, a spokesperson for Royal Netherlands Marechaussee military police confirmed to TMZ they’d arrested an American woman for possessing “soft drugs” — like marijuana for example — and described a similar scenario to Minaj’s, but refused to identify her by name or the type of alleged drugs.
Minaj was  released and reportedly fined €350, and was off to her Manchester show schedules for Saturday night.

Unfortunately for her fans in Manchester, it looks like the show is a wash.

Kenneth Petty, Nicki Minaj’s husband, has gone viral after updating his photo on the sex offender registry recently.
The web was buzzing as Kenneth Petty, the husband of rap superstar Nicki Minaj, recently updated his photograph on the state of California’s website of registered sex offenders. The updated photo was a necessity as Petty’s sentence of house arrest ended. The Megan’s Law website operated by the state of California has Petty’s status as an offender as well as personal data including his age and date of birth along with the reason for his previous conviction and aliases. Petty recently served a period of house arrest for threatening Offset.

Petty’s status comes as a result of being found guilty in an attempted first-degree rape of a 16-year-old girl, which occurred in 1995. He was sentenced to four years in jail. He ran afoul of the law in 2019 after moving to California with Nicki Minaj before their marriage. For that offense, he was sentenced to three years of probation and a year of house arrest for failing to notify the state of his status when he arrived, which was discovered after he was pulled over at a traffic stop. He also had to shell out $20,000 in fines.

Nicki Minaj has been on record defending her husband, claiming that he was wrongfully accused and going so far as to say that the alleged victim was willing to walk back her claims. “When the alleged accuser wrote a letter to the judge asking to recant the statements she was told that she would go to jail for 90 days, allegedly, if she recants the statement,” she said on her Queen Radio show hosted by Apple Music.
Petty’s status fueled a scorching set of bars by Megan Thee Stallion in her song “Hiss” earlier this year. “These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law/ I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start,” she rapped, initiating a serious beef with Nicki Minaj by referencing the legislation documenting all sex offenders and named after Megan Kanka, who was killed in 1994 by a previous offender. In addition, a former security guard reportedly won a default judgment last month against Petty and Nicki Minaj after accusing them of assaulting him backstage with the couple potentially owing the man $500,000.

Nicki Minaj‘s sense of style is just like her music: wild, colorful, daring and boundary-pushing.   Throughout the years, she’s rocked eye-catching wigs, bold patterns, avant-garde silhouettes and a number of blinged-out accessories — perhaps most famously, her collection of “Barbie” necklaces. The record-breaking rapper’s fashion was definitely at its wackiest back in the days […]
