Shakira Stuns in Dreamy Pink Dress at 2025 Met Gala

The Colombian superstar stunned in a gorgeous pink dress at the 2025 Met Gala on Monday (May 5). Dressed in Atelier Prabal Gurung, Shakira’s dreamy soft pink dress was striking, particularly because of the super long train that trailed behind her for a dramatic touch that made it seem like she was floating across the carpet. She rocked her signature tousled hairstyle letting the dress take the spotlight.

Following a stint of shows in Latin America, Shakira is set to kick off the North American leg of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran Tour on May 13 in Charlotte, North Carolina, and will then make her way to other cities including New York, Chicago, Boston, Miami and Los Angeles, to name a few.

Held at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday, this year’s Met Gala celebrated the theme of “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” inspired by Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. The official dress code is “Tailored for You,” a nod to the spring 2025 exhibition’s focus on menswear and is “purposefully designed to provide guidance and invite creative interpretation,” according to Vogue.

Pharrell Williams, A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo and Lewis Hamilton served as co-chairs, while LeBron James served as honorary chair. Tyla, Doechii, André 3000, Usher, Janelle Monáe and more also served as members of the costume institute benefit host committee. Lizzo Channels Cruella de Vil on 2025 Met Gala Red Carpet

While no animals were harmed in the making of her outfit, Lizzo channeled the energy of 101 Dalmatians baddie Cruella de Vil on the 2025 Met Gala carpet.

It was all about the black-and-white color scheme of her dress, topped off with a bolero jacket draped over her shoulders. But the true Cruella moment came with Lizzo’s long cigarette holder and the pointed black-and-white manicure. The pop star leaned into the inspiration on the carpet, posing with her arms in the air like the famous Disney villain.

Lizzo finished the outfit with white-blonde hair worn in loose, flowing curls. Over on Instagram, Lizzo previewed the look with a teaser video alongside the caption: “Met… here I come!”

One X user spotted Lizzo’s Disney doppelgänger, writing, “Lizzo giving Cruella De Ville realness at the #MetGala.”

The 2025 Met Gala theme is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which also inspired the Met Costume Institute’s spring 2025 exhibition of the same name and explores the history of Black dandyism.

This year, Lizzo has been releasing new songs from her upcoming album Love in Real Life, which doesn’t yet have a release date. During a performance last month on Saturday Night Live, she performed a medley of the title track and “Still Bad,” and live-debuted “Don’t Make Me Love You.”

Shaboozey Rocks Turquoise Grillz & Beaded Suit for Met Gala Debut

Shaboozey took his tailored suit to a whole new level for his debut at the 2025 Met Gala on Monday (May 5).

The turquoise grillz, watch and beaded design across his black collared tank and behind his black cropped suit jacket added a nice pop of color to his ensemble. And Shaboozey traded his signature cowboy hat for a sleek black slanted hat.

Outside of his Met Gala debut, the “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” hitmaker has been having an incredible start to his week. His 2024 album Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going is No. 8 on the Billboard 200 this week (chart dated May 10), nearing its No. 5 peak from last June.

J Balvin Looks Dapper in Pink Vintage Suit at Met Gala 2025

J Balvin looked dapper in a salmon-pink vintage suit at the 2025 Met Gala on Monday (May 5). The Colombian superstar stepped out with partner Valentina Ferrer, who looked stunning in a ’70s-inspired structured black and brown polka-dot dress.

It’s not the first time that the reggaetón hitmaker has attended the Met Gala. He made his debut in 2021, where he wore a bold, showstopping Moschino design. He returned in 2022 where he opted for a more classic tuxedo by Ralph Lauren. J Balvin is currently on his Back to the Rayo Tour in the United States with remaining stops in Los Angeles, Seattle and Portland.

Doechii Gets Louis Vuitton Stamp of Approval for Her Met Gala Debut

Doechii stamped the Louis Vuitton logo on her face for her debut at the 2025 Met Gala on Monday (May 5).

She was literally head-to-toe in LV, from the monogram-printed logo blazer and vest to the tailored shorts with the brand’s checkerboard Damier print to the mini speedy bag.

She told Vogue livestream co-hosts Teyana Taylor and Ego Nwodim that she worked with Pharrell Williams, one of this year’s co-chairs and men’s creative director at Louis Vuitton, on her dapper look, which was “heavily inspired by” Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity; the book inspired this year’s Met Gala theme of “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”

“We studied a little bit on this character Julius Soubise, who really stood out to me,” Doechii said. “I’m a little nervous, but it feels really good. This is one of the biggest nights in fashion, and for it to be so Black, I’m present. I’m here.”

Nwodim gassed up the 26-year-old MC for becoming the third woman to win the Grammy for best rap album this year, when she took him the trophy for her 2024 critically acclaimed mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal. “I felt inspired by the theme of ‘student of hip-hop,’ and I feel like that’s very dandy, very inspired by tonight’s theme,” said the “Denial Is a River” rapper.

Donald Trump Orders Idiotic 100% Tariff On Foreign-Made Films, Social Media Comes With The Jokes

Donald Trump’s stupidity continues to hit new highs. For his next ridiculous act, Trump is ordering a 100% tariff on foreign-made films, and according to reporting, it’s all because of one of his loyal Hollywood supporters.

Out of nowhere, Trump, who more than likely was sitting on his gaudy Mar-A-Lago couch, watching TV, instead of doing his job as President of the United States, posted on his trash social media platform his latest dumb a** idea to hit foreign-made films with a 100% tariff, because in his words it’s a “national threat.”

We wished we were making this up, but he is dead serious.

“The Movie Industry in America is DYING a very fast death,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Other Countries are offering all sorts of incentives to draw our filmmakers and studios away from the United States. Hollywood, and many other areas within the U.S.A., are being devastated. This is a concerted effort by other Nations and, therefore, a National Security threat.”

“It is, in addition to everything else, messaging and propaganda! Therefore, I am authorizing the Department of Commerce, and the United States Trade Representative, to immediately begin the process of instituting a 100% Tariff on any and all Movies coming into our Country that are produced in Foreign Lands,” Trump continued. “WE WANT MOVIES MADE IN AMERICA, AGAIN!”

Lol, what?

It’s unclear how Trump plans to implement these latest abuse tariffs. Still, according to The Guardian, he could be trying to target a system of tax subsidies that allows Hollywood producers to receive large sums of money if they shoot movies in studios in approved countries.

So, where did he get this idea from?

According to TNR, he could have gotten the idea from actor Jon Voight, who is a staunch supporter of Felon 47.

Per TNR:

Months later, it appears that Voight—also known as the film industry’s most ardent conservative—spoke with Trump, and Trump listened.

Voight has reportedly spent weeks talking to the Directors Guild of America, Teamsters, and IATSE, Deadline reported Friday. The fruit of those conversations, according to sources with knowledge of them who spoke to the entertainment publication, was supposed to be a tax incentive that Hollywood has been clamoring for.

Instead, Trump went the way of the tariff, which squares into an administration that has aggressively curtailed spending in order to extend extremely expensive tax breaks for billionaires.

Social media had plenty of jokes, including some adding that the next season of The White Lotus could end up in Cleveland.

Sabrina Carpenter Heats Up 2025 Met Gala Red Carpet in Espresso-Brown Bodysuit

Sabrina Carpenter channeled her signature hit “Espresso” on the 2025 Met Gala red carpet, wearing a coffee-brown bodysuit and a matching tuxedo coat with tails.

During her interview on the Vogue livestream with La La Anthony, Carpenter revealed that her look was from Louis Vuitton by way of men’s creative director Pharrell Williams — who also served as a co-chair of Monday’s event.

“I’m a massive fan of Pharrell and have been to the [Louis Vuitton] show, and I was just like, ‘If I could go this year with him, that would be my dream.’ And it came true!” Carpenter revealed, then quipped: “And he was like, ‘You’re quite short, so no pants for you.’ So here we are!”

Anthony also pointed out Carpenter’s sky-high shoes, which the pop star says are “like a staple for me in my life.” But then after nearly tumbling into the host, she added: “Almost fell into you! … Living life on the edge tonight.”

When asked what she was most looking forward to from the night, Carpenter had another tongue-in-cheek answer. “This is my third Met — never been to the bathroom once, because I’ve never been able to use it in my outfit. So tonight might be the night. We’ll see. … I’m just gonna let everybody know what it looks like. I’m sure it’s just a normal museum bathroom, but I’m excited to find out.”

LISA Dazzles in Pantsless Louis Vuitton Look for Met Gala Debut

LISA ditched pants for a dazzling Louis Vuitton bodysuit for her debut at the 2025 Met Gala on Monday (May 5).

The “Rockstar” artist turned heads at the blue carpeted steps of New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art with her chic updo and sparkly black LV blazer, bodysuit, tights and statement purse with pearl details. Her BLACKPINK bandmate JENNIE told red carpet host La La Anthony about the girl group’s upcoming reunion tour, which kicks off in July. “It’s BLACKPINK in your area, back again!” JENNIE exclaimed. “It’s gonna be good, and we all can’t wait to meet our fans.”

Outside of her Met Gala debut, LISA made her acting debut on The White Lotus this year and dropped her debut solo album Alter Ego too. Alter Ego reached No. 7 on the Billboard 200.

Brooks & Dunn, Thomas Rhett, Megan Moroney & More at iHeartCountry Festival: Exclusive Backstage Photos

This year’s iHeartCountry Festival welcomed an array of top country hitmakers to bring the heat, Texas-style, over the weekend.

On Saturday (May 3) at The Moody Center in Austin, Texas, fans enjoyed music from Country Music Hall of Famers Brooks & Dunn, as well as hitmakers Thomas Rhett, Rascal Flatts, Cole Swindell and Sam Hunt.

Also blazing on the main stage were artists whose careers are surging to new heights, including “Am I Okay?” star Megan Moroney, “Fix What You Didn’t Break” singer Nate Smith, Bailey Zimmerman (who just earned a top 5 smash on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 with his BigXThaPlug collaboration “All the Way” and just released his Luke Combs collab “Backup Plan”) and “Austin” singer Dasha, who took her show directly into the crowd, walking through the audience and encouraging concertgoers to sing along.

Among more of the fest’s key performances were Smith joining Zimmerman for a rendition of “Backup Plan,” while B&D regaled the crowd with a rendition of their 1992 hit “Neon Moon.” Swindell performed his ’90s country-celebrating hit “She Had Me at Heads Carolina,” while Megan Moroney offered up a breezy rendition of “Am I Okay?”

The lineup for the Daytime Village at the iHeartCountry Festival included performances from Smith, Moroney, Dasha, Matt Stell and Tucker Wetmore.

This year’s iHeartCountry Festival Presented by Capital One was once again hosted by iHeartRadio personality Bobby Bones and broadcast across iHeartCountry stations nationwide, as well as via the iHeartRadio app. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is the benefiting charity partner of this year’s festival.

Brooklyn Mirage Opening Indefinitely Delayed by Construction Permit Problems 

The Brooklyn Mirage remains closed after building inspectors declined to grant the recently renovated facility a permit to open on Friday (May 2) for the first of two back-to-back concerts by Sara Landry.

Sources monitoring the situation say Mirage officials were given a list of fixes that needed to be completed for the club to open following an extensive renovation at the venue complex Avant Garner, which includes the 80,000-square-foot, 6,000-capacity Williamsburg nightclub. Widely recognized as one of the top stops in New York for electronic and dance acts, the Mirage had operated for years with the support of New York Mayor Eric Adams, whose office has intervened on Avant Gardner’s behalf as part of an ongoing legal fight with New York’s State Liquor Authority (SLA). An Avant Gardner representative declined to comment on the proposed fixes.

The SLA threatened to revoke the Brooklyn Mirage’s liquor license several times in the past and convened a meeting that included representatives from the governor’s office to settle the dispute. Such high-placed help has been absent during this latest debacle, which has left the Mirage unable to open and facing the possibility of further cancellations as soon as Friday (May 9), when Loud Luxury is scheduled to perform at the facility.

“We are doing everything in our power to get back on track — safely and in full compliance — as soon as possible,” reads a statement from Avant Gardener on the Brooklyn Mirage website.

At issue are new design elements at the Mirage, which is said to be one of the largest prefabricated timber structures ever built, at 65 feet high. The venue includes a wraparound LED wall with more than 3,000 LED panels; a fully kinetic shutter system; an L-Acoustics sound system with more than 100 speakers and subwoofers; a 90-foot stage; and 20,000 tons of rigging capacity. Crews have also expanded the space by adding three VIP mezzanines and two general admission dance floors.

“We want to be clear: the venue is show ready and the New Mirage has been built to exacting safety, structural, mechanical and technical specifications,” wrote Mirage officials in an Instagram post. “However, we were not able to meet the final inspection deadline.”

“This isn’t about construction, but compliance,” the post continued. “We’re working closely with city officials and will continue to be transparent throughout this process.”

The Mirage closed months ago with Avant Gardner’s new CEO, Josh Wyatt, promising to reopen the club on Thursday (May 1) after expanding its dance floor from a 5,500-person capacity to 6,250. As the opening date approached, videos and pictures of the renovation project started appearing online, with many fans openly questioning whether the venue would meet its deadline.

Wyatt took over as CEO last fall, and, in an open letter released a few months later, he promised to revive the Brooklyn Mirage as a “world class music and dance experience underpinned by extraordinary design and hospitality.”
