‘You’ Explains How That Taylor Swift Needle Drop Happened in the Season 4 Finale

Hello…you. The season 4 finale of Netflix’s You contained an epic needle drop of Taylor Swift‘s “Anti-Hero,” and now the show’s creator is dishing on how she nabbed the song.

“We had finished most of the episodes and sent them off to Netflix,” Sera Gamble, who also serves as You‘s showrunner, told E! News on Friday (March 10), “and then we needed this last big song at the end of the final episode and we had one in that was different.” (Don’t worry, no spoilers going forward about the second batch of season 4 episodes, which just premiered on the streamer.)

At first, the thriller’s music team was planning to use one of several “really iconic British songs,” given the season’s London setting, but Gamble changed her mind the moment Swift dropped her 10th album Midnights and its lead single — with its self-loathing refrain of “It’s me, hi, I’m the problem, it’s me” — back in October. “I was like, ‘I feel like it’s almost too good what she’s saying and we have to at least try to get this song in.’ Because really, what is You but a Taylor Swift fan love letter disguised as a show?”

There’s no word yet on whether Swift has binged Joe Goldberg’s murderous antics on the latest season of the Netflix hit, but it’s safe to say she’s probably been a bit busy prepping for The Eras Tour, which kicks off on St. Patrick’s Day (March 17) at Glendale, Ariz.’s State Farm Stadium.

To celebrate the musical mastermind’s arrival, Glendale Mayor Jerry P. Weiers announced earlier this week that the town will temporarily be changing its name through her second show on Saturday, March 18.

Watch Austin Butler’s Dramatic Reading of Taylor Swift’s ‘Red’

Austin Butler has made his case to appear on Taylor Swift‘s next rerecording.

Butler took part in W Magazine‘s Lyrical Improv segment, in which actors do a dramatic reading of a popular song. The Elvis star was given Swift’s 2012 hit, “Red,” and he turned the song into a devastating tale of heartbreak, adding to the already emotional lyrics with his low-toned voice and perfectly timed pauses.

“Losing him was blue, like I’d never known / Missing him was dark gray, all alone / Forgetting him was like trying to know somebody you never met / But loving him was red,” he read in the chorus.

“Was that alright?” he asked with a laugh when he completed the task.

Swift unveiled the Taylor’s Version of her Red album in 2021, and immediately debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with 605,000 equivalent album units, and the 10-minute version of “All Too Well” shot to the top of the Hot 100 chart. “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (The Short Film)” was up for song of the year and won best music video at the 2023 Grammys.

Twitter is screaming CARESHA PLEASE after watching Yung Miami’s acting debut in BMF.

BMF Fridays are in full effect, and Twitter has much to say about the latest episode. Yung Miami has caught the acting bug, appearing in the Netflix film You People and now with her highly-anticipated debut in the Starz original drama series.

Unfortunately, instead of receiving praise for her role as Deanna Washington in season two of BMF, many have taken to Twitter to call out Yung Miami for what they feel is TUBI quality acting.

Yung Miami better thank God for colorism and “pretty privilege,” because talented she is NOT! There are too many great actors for y’all to be hiring the likes of Caresha and LaLa!!,” one Twitter user wrote in the caption of tweet with a video of Joe Budden.

Uno I love me some Yung Miami but this scene was terrible I wasn’t convinced hopefully she improves #bmf,” another Twitter user wrote.

Yung Miami was well aware of the hate coming at her and took to social media to respond to the BMF watchers who thought her acting was real bad.

“The more they hate the more opportunities come!! It’s only the beginning for me!” the rapper wrote in reply to a tweet defending her acting debut.

Showing that she has a sense of humor, Diddy’s former boo wrote, “it wasn’t funny, lol,” in response to a tweet that read, “Caresha had me screaming on BMF last night she’s mad funny.”

She Can Hit La La For Some Advice

We hope Yung Miami keeps at it and doesn’t let the haters get to her. You don’t become a great actor overnight. If she needs to talk to anyone, she can hit up La La, who also felt the wrath of Power watchers for years.

So That’s How Meech Got The Big Nickname

That wasn’t the only thing that BMF fans, specifically the ladies talking. The thirst is real on Twitter because of a sex scene featuring Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr. flashing his goods.

Quickly the jokes and reactions came in, with many agreeing the young actor should change his name from Lil Meech to Big Meech.

LOL.

You can see more reactions in the gallery below.

Rolling Stones Hit With Copyright Lawsuit Over 2020 Song ‘Living in a Ghost Town’

The Rolling Stones members Mick Jagger and Keith Richards were hit with a copyright lawsuit on Friday (March 10) claiming their 2020 single “Living in a Ghost Town” — a rare new song from the rock legends — lifted material from a pair of little-known earlier tracks.

In a lawsuit filed in New Orleans federal court, songwriter Sergio Garcia Fernandez (stage name Angelslang) is claiming that Jagger and Richards “misappropriated many of the recognizable and key protected elements” from his 2006 song “So Sorry” as well as his 2007 tune “Seed of God.”

How would members of the iconic band have heard those songs, which have less than 1,000 spins on Spotify? Fernandez claims he gave a demo CD to “an immediate family member” of Jagger.

“The immediate family member … confirmed receipt … to the plaintiff via e-mail, and expressed that the musical works of the plaintiff and its style was a sound The Rolling Stones would be interested in using,” Fernandez’s lawyers wrote in Friday’s complaint.

A copy of the alleged email from Jagger’s relative was not included in public filings.

Released at the peak of the COVID-19 shutdowns in April 2020, “Living in a Ghost Town” was the first original material released by the Stones since 2012. The song, a blues-rock tune with reggae influences accompanied by a COVID-themed video, reached No. 3 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart in May 2020.

But Fernandez says the new song was created by borrowing key features from his songs, including the “vocal melodies, the chord progressions, the drum beat patterns, the harmonica parts, the electric bass line parts, the tempos, and other key signatures” from “So Sorry” and the “harmonic and chord progression and melody” from “Seed of God.”

“Defendants never paid plaintiff, nor secured the authorization for the use of ‘So Sorry’ and ‘Seed of God,’ his lawyers wrote.

A rep for The Rolling Stones did not immediately return a request for comment on Friday evening.

God Behind Bars shared a video to its Instagram account, along with details of the power couple’s visit to the prison. “300 incarcerated men filled the prison chapel to hear a word from @dangerusswilson,” the caption read.

The video focused on a moment in Ciara’s testimony, during which she was visibly emotional at the power of God’s love. “You know what’s so beautiful about God’s love? It’s relentless, he don’t let off,” she told the inmates. “And you know what I love about God and what he said and his promise is that there’s no abomination in Jesus Christ….so if you ask for forgiveness, he will forgive you. My heart is filled with joy.”

After Ciara’s moment on the mic, she and her husband joined the hall in song, during which several bowed their heads and fully embraced the moment. Wilson later shared the video to his Instagram feed and wrote, “Lord there’s nothing better than YOU!!! Over 300 Maximum Prison Inmates worshipping Jesus! His Grace and Spirit is overwhelming in the midst of mistakes He still loves and forgives. ‘For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.’ ‭‭John‬ ‭3‬:‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬ @GodBehindBars @Ciara.”

Touched by the video, Ciara also shared the moment to her respective Instagram Story, writing, “God’s love is so good.”

Is A Drake And Lil Baby Joint Album On Deck?

Two of the biggest names in Hip-Hop, Drake and Lil Baby, might be teaming up on a future album according to a recent podcast appearance by a producer.

In a recent interview on the Podcast and Chill With Mac G which aired Monday (March 6), the producer Black Coffee was asked about the various celebrity encounters he’s had. The conversation soon turned to his linking up with Quality Control co-founder Keith “Coach K” Lee in Atlanta.

“We go to dinner. We got to the club. I play my sets,” Coffee added. “He’s like, ‘We’re going to my strip club.’ I have never been. And this is what Atlanta is known for. And he said to me, ‘Lil Baby and Drake are making an album. It’s possible that Drake is retiring.’” The interview concludes shortly after. Black Coffee recently worked with Drake on his last solo album, Honestly, Nevermind.

There has been no confirmation from representatives of Drake or Lil Baby. If it’s true that the two are collaborating on a new album, this would be the third joint musical venture the Canadian superstar has entered into with an Atlanta-based rapper. Drake is still enjoying the rave reviews from the Her Loss album he did with 21 Savage, which was released last November. And in 2015, he and Future teamed up to record and drop What a Time to be Alive.

The Certified Lover Boy has hinted at making an early exit from music, doing so in a recent interview with Lil Yachty. “I’m at the point now where I just want to, like, and I feel like maybe we talked about this the other day, but I feel like I’m kind of introducing the concept in my mind of a graceful exit,” he said at the time.

Looks like Kanye West is trying to build a bond between his daughter, North West and his new wife Bianca Censori, a month and change after it was reported that he tied the knot with the woman that Kim Kardashian allegedly can’t stand.

According to TMZ, the former billionaire was spotted at Universal Studios Hollywood Thursday (March 9) with his wife and daughter in tow. The outing comes a week after the internet had opinions about North West “turning up” with Ice Spice on TikTok and pondering whether Kanye was right about how things would go if Kim was left alone to raise his children on the age of social media.

Whether or not that played a role in Ye spending some quality time with his daughter and wife is anyone’s guess. But at least he’s maintaining a presence in his daughter’s life regardless of circumstances.

Mexican Cartel Claims They Gave Government The Men Responsible For Deadly Kidnapping

The backstory behind the recent kidnapping in Mexico continues to get stranger by the day. Officials have received a letter stating the cartel has turned over the men responsible for the crime.

As per the Associated Press local officials of the city of Matamoros, Mexico received a letter that is said to be sent by the Scorpions faction of the Gulf cartel. In the message, the criminal organization shows they do have a heart and offer their remorse to locals over the fact that an innocent bystander was killed in the operation. Additionally, the individuals who penned it say they handed over the gunmen.

“We have decided to turn over those who were directly involved and responsible in the events, who at all times acted under their own decision-making and lack of discipline,” the letter read. Additionally, the not-for-profit news agency implies the note also included photos of the five men who orchestrated the brazen kidnapping of four Americans last week.

Since the incident, the United States has deployed the National Guard to patrol the border. Mexican security analyst David Saucedo says the extra presence has made it difficult for criminal organizations to run shop.

“It is very difficult right now for them to continue working in terms of street-level drug sales and transferring drugs to the United States; they are the first ones interested in closing this chapter as soon as possible,” Saucedo said. The two survivors from the kidnapping are currently recuperating at Texas based medical facilities.
