At Amazon’s upfront presentation on Monday, Michael B. Jordan energized the crowd with a surprising and heartfelt tribute.

While promoting the future of the Creed franchise, Jordan took a moment to acknowledge the current success of Sinners, a film now playing in theaters. “Thank you to everyone who’s been supporting Sinners in theaters right now,” he told the audience at the Beacon Theatre, earning one of the loudest responses of the night.

What caught many off guard was that *Sinners* was not an Amazon production but a Warner Bros. release. The acknowledgment was especially notable considering Jordan had just been introduced by Courtenay Valenti, Amazon MGM Studios’ Head of Film, Streaming and Theatrical, who formerly served as Warner Bros.’ President of Production. The moment underscored Jordan’s commitment to his collaborators, especially director Ryan Coogler, who helmed Sinners and shares a longstanding creative bond with Jordan.

While on stage, Jordan also reflected on the origins and future of what he called the “Creed-verse.” He revealed that the concept for Adonis Creed had been shared with him by Coogler even before filming their debut collaboration, Fruitvale Station. “Before we ever rolled the cameras on Fruitvale, Ryan pitched the idea of Adonis Creed to me,” Jordan said. “That was the start of everything.”

Calling his journey as Adonis life-changing, Jordan expressed pride in how far the franchise has come and enthusiasm for where it is headed. He emphasized that the upcoming chapters will continue to honor the core values that have always defined the Rocky and Creed stories, such as grit, personal growth, and the importance of both biological and chosen family. “We’re creating something meaningful,” he said, while teasing the introduction of new fighters stepping into the ring. “In Creed, it’s always one step, one round, one punch at a time.”

Jordan’s appearance served as both a celebration of his current projects and a nod to the deep creative partnerships that have shaped his career, bridging past and future in a single powerful moment.

Katy Perry is feeling the love from her fans, despite any hate she might get online.
At her Lifetimes Tour show in Chicago on Monday (May 12), the pop star joked about her public image with the crowd at the United Center. In a clip taken by one concertgoer, Perry reacts to the audience’s thunderous applause by quipping, “Well, I thought I was the most hated person on the internet.”

As the fans continue to clap and cheer, the “Firework” singer adds, “I think that’s false!”

The show in Chicago comes a few weeks after Perry kicked off her Lifetimes trek supporting 2024 album 143 in Mexico City in late April. Earlier that month, she was part of Blue Origin’s first all-woman space flight — a highly criticized venture that has led to the musician experiencing an influx in negative comments on social media, as alluded to by Perry on stage.

Before that, the former American Idol judge drew criticism for working with Dr. Luke on her single “Woman’s World,” despite allegations of sexual assault leveraged against him by Kesha. In 2014, the “Tik Tok” singer accused the producer of drugging and raping her in 2005, claims he called “false and shocking”; he then sued her for defamation, sparking a nine-year legal battle that finally resolved when the two parties reached a settlement in 2023.

In September, Perry addressed her decision to collaborate with Dr. Luke on Call Her Daddy, acknowledging that the move “started a lot of conversations.” “He was one of many collaborators that I collaborated with,” she added. “But the reality is, it comes from me. The truth is, I wrote these songs from my experience of my whole life going through this metamorphosis, and he was one of the people to help facilitate all that.”

Between her work with Dr. Luke and the space expedition, Perry has certainly seen an uptick in online hate. But in addition to shrugging it off in Chicago, the star also recently got candid with fans about how she’s faring in the face of it all.

“Please know I am ok, I have done a lot work around knowing who I am, what is real and what is important to me,” she commented on Instagram in April. “My therapist said something years ago that has been a game changer: ‘No one can make you believe something about yourself that you don’t already believe about yourself.’ And if I ever do have any feelings about it, then it’s an opportunity to investigate the feeling underneath it.”

It’s not looking good for the Boston Celtics right now. After a strong regular season, they were heading into the playoffs with a high chance of repeating as NBA champions. Now, they are on the brink of elimination and will likely have to pull off the impossible without their star player, Jayson Tatum.

The Boston Celtics came into their Conference Semifinals matchup with the New York Knicks as prohibitive favorites. However, they flopped in both home games, surrendering 20-point leads, allowing Jalen Brunson and the Knicks to steal two games in TD Garden.

The Celtics did find their form in Game 3 and didn’t relinquish their massive lead, smoking the Knicks in Madison Square Garden, leaving many to believe they have found their groove.
Then came Game 4, which was a repeat of Games 1 and 2, but this time the Celtics will limp back to Boston down 3-1 and likely without superstar Jayson Tatum, who left the game with what looked like a serious non-contact leg injury, an unfortunate end for what was one of his best games in the series.

After he was taken off the court, a visibly emotional Tatum was wheelchaired back to the Celtics locker room, covering his face to hide his tears.

The Sports World Reacts To Jayson Tatum’s Scary Injury
The reactions to the scary injury, many speculate, could be a torn Achilles, were instant, with names like LeBron James, Patrick Mahomes, and more all throwing up prayers for the NBA champion.

There’s still no word on the severity of Tatum’s injury, with his head coach, Joe Mazulla, saying his star player will undergo an MRI. But if the Celtics can extend it, chances are very high we will not see Big Deuce for Game 4 or the remainder of this series.
The sports world is awaiting the results of that MRI. Until it comes, you can see more reactions in the gallery below.

Released in 2020 via Linked Music, Dynamic Records and Empire, the reggaetón track unfolds with a storyline that’s captivating and flirty, written by Wheeler, Towers, as well as De La Ghetto. The accompanying music video sees Wheeler and Towers exuding effortless swagger on a rooftop before transitioning to a neon-lit space to close the clip out.

Meanwhile, the subject of their curiosity is shown immersed in the simplicity of her daily routine — mopping floors, studying, and living a low-key life. As the narrative unfolds, her mundane tasks take a playful turn, with suggestive dance moves punctuating her daydreams, until Wheeler suddenly appears unannounced, leaving both characters caught in a moment of shy intrigue.

Most recently, the artist born José Ángel López Martínez dropped his spring-themed LP Girasoles in March, a whimsical and R&B-laced album that “embraced a deeply personal narrative represented by Wheeler’s reflection of growth, love, and a renewed sense of faith,” as described in a press release.

BOYNEXTDOOR returned this week with their fourth EP, No Genre, and they’re back to “breaking out of the mold.”
The six-member K-pop boy band — SUNGHO, RIWOO, JAEHYUN, TAESAN, LEEHAN and WOONHAK — debuted in 2023 and has always prioritized being hands-on with their work. This time around, JAEHYUN, TAESAN and WOONHAK are all credited throughout the EP’s track list as songwriters. Following the release of “If I Say, I Love You” in January, the full seven-track No Genre project arrived on Tuesday (May 13) in South Korea along with lead single “I Feel Good” and its music video.

Billboard caught up with the group during release week to talk about the just-released project, working on their music, and what to expect from their debut performance at Lollapalooza, going down July 31-Aug. 3 at Chicago’s Grant Park. Check out our conversation below, and stick with @Billboard socials for more from the septet coming throughout this summer.

What does the title of your fourth EP, No Genre, mean to you?

LEEHAN: To us, “No Genre” means breaking out of the mold. We’re a group that genuinely loves all kinds of music, and rather than confining ourselves to a single style, we wanted this album to reflect our openness and freedom. By being directly involved in the creative process, we were able to tell fresher and more exciting stories in our own way.

Why is it important to BOYNEXTDOOR to have the group members so involved in writing and producing your music?

TAESAN: It allows us to fully express what we want to say through our music. Writing and producing our own songs lets us tell our own stories in a way that feels real and personal.

WOONHAK: We believe our music is only complete when it reflects our own emotions and real-life experiences. By taking part in the songwriting process, we’re able to deliver honest and relatable stories in our own voice. I feel like that’s what makes our songs feel instinctive and unfiltered.

What are you planning for your first performance at Lollapalooza later this summer?

JAEHYUN: We’re working hard to make our stage feel more interactive and alive. We’ve been studying English to better communicate with the audience, and we’re also trying out new ideas to make our performance even more engaging.

RIWOO: Since Lollapalooza brings together a wide audience of people who love music and the festival experience, we’re preparing a performance that anyone can enjoy.

What did you learn from your KCON LA performances last year that you’ll bring to your Lollapalooza set?

SUNGHO: At KCON LA, we learned how important it is to create a stage where everyone feels like part of the moment. For Lollapalooza, we want to bring that same energy, where everyone can let loose and have fun with us. Since it’s our first time at Lollapalooza, we want to leave a strong impression and make sure people remember the name BOYNEXTDOOR.

Today, marks the 40th anniversary of one of the most tragic and controversial events in Philadelphia’s history—the MOVE bombing. On that day in 1985, the Philadelphia Police Department dropped an explosive device on the home of MOVE, a Black liberation and back-to-nature organization, located on Osage Avenue in West Philadelphia.

The bombing ignited a massive fire that consumed more than 60 homes in the surrounding neighborhood. The incident claimed the lives of 11 people, including five children. All the victims shared the surname “Africa,” which members of MOVE adopted as a symbol of unity and their ideological beliefs.

Decades later, the city continues to reckon with the consequences of that day. On Thursday, Philadelphia City Council is set to hold a hearing to reflect on the aftermath and consider a resolution to designate May 13 as an official day of remembrance and reflection. This proposed annual observance aims to honor the lives lost and acknowledge the lasting impact on the community.

In recent years, the tragedy has resurfaced in public discourse due to disturbing revelations. In 2021, it was discovered that the remains of some of the victims had been held without the family’s consent by the Penn Museum. Then, in 2024, additional remains believed to be those of 12-year-old Delisha Africa were found, once again raising questions about accountability and respect for the deceased and their families.

Despite the passage of time, the MOVE bombing remains a deep wound for many Philadelphians, especially the Africa family. As part of their journey toward healing and reclaiming their history, the family has now acquired the original Osage Avenue property where the MOVE headquarters once stood.

As the city approaches this significant anniversary, efforts like the City Council hearing and the resolution aim to ensure the lessons of the past are neither forgotten nor repeated. The MOVE bombing remains a symbol of systemic failure and a stark reminder of the importance of justice, remembrance, and community healing.

Samsung isn’t done dropping entries into its flagship smartphone line.
Yesterday, Samsung unveiled its thinnest smartphone yet, the Galaxy S25 Edge, giving Korean tech a giant leg up on the competition, including Apple, which is reportedly set to drop a thin flagship smartphone, the iPhone 17 Air.

The Galaxy S25 Edge lives up to its thin reputation coming in at 5.8 millimeters thin and only weighing 163 grams making it one of the thinnest smartphones on the market.

The S25 Edge, which will cost $1,099 and officially go on sale beginning May 30, comes just four months after the launch of the S25 smartphone series. This marks a different path for Samsung, which usually doesn’t introduce new smartphones this early, usually opting for the middle of the year to introduce the latest models of foldable smartphones.

The S25 Edge is basically a lite model of the S25 Ultra, and it’s for the Samsung fan who loves a premium phone but doesn’t care for features like the S-Pen.
The thin smartphone features a durable titanium build paired with the latest Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2. It also has two premium cameras: a 200MP wide lens and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor with autofocus, allowing for detailed macro photography and Nightography.
Under the hood is the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy, which delivers snappy performance, on-device AI processing, and features like the Now Brief and Now Bar.
Here is the full breakdown via Samsung:

6.7″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display
Slim and lightweight body at 5.8mm thick and weighing at 163 grams
Enhanced camera featuring a 200MP wide lens and 12MP ultra-wide sensor
ProVisual Engine optimized for Galaxy S25
Built with the latest Corning Gorilla Armor 2
AI image processing with ProScaler and Digital Natural Image engine (mDNIe).
Galaxy AI features including Now Brief and Now Bar as well as editing features including Audio Eraser and Drawing Assist
Thinner, reconfigured vapor chamber to keep phone cool
Snapdragon 8 ® Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy
ProVisual Engine
Available starting at $1,099.99 in Titanium Silver, Titanium Jetblack and Titanium Icyblue.

Again, we’re not sure who the market is for the S25 Edge, but it’s definitely appealing thanks to its features.
