Andrew Tate Charged With Rape, Human Trafficking In Romania

Andrew Tate arrives in court to attend his appeal in Romania

Andrew Tate controls a significant corner of the Internet as a figure who purports to be a leader of men and sells the angle of being the so-called “Top G” among other titles. Andrew Tate was charged with rape and human trafficking charges along with others in Romania, and both fans and critics of Tate are reacting as expected.

As seen in The Washington Post, Andrew Tate, his brother Tristan, and two others were hit with charges by Romanian officials with the official charges reading as human trafficking, rape, and forming an organized crime group. Tate, his brother, and two Romanian women were arrested last December with the Tate brothers reportedly being on house arrest since March of this year.

The charges come after a months-long investigation into the activities and alleged criminal acts involving Tate and the three other individuals. According to officials, Tate orchestrated forced participation in online pornography onto the alleged victims under violent and psychologically controlling means.

Tate’s legal team maintains that their side is innocent and expected the charges to be read while stating that they will “vindicate” their clients.

“The indictment now allows us to present a comprehensive body of evidence, diligently collected and prepared over time, which will undoubtedly substantiate the brothers’ claims of innocence,” the legal team shared in a statement.

Today, Tate enjoys millions of followers across his social media pages who buy into his brand of brash masculinity and is framing the criminal investigation and indictment against him as an attack on the issues he stands for while authorities ignore other figures who have allegedly committed similar or worse crimes on record.

The timeline of Tate’s arrest can be pinpointed to a Twitter exchange between him and climate activist Greta Thunberg. Tate fired the first salvo at Thunberg, boasting of his cars and their collective emissions total. Thunberg returned fire with a snappy email targeting Tate’s manhood which prompted Tate to fire back with a video response featuring him eating pizza from a known Romanian chain.

It was all the spark authorities needed to raid Tate’s villa in Romania after being tipped off by U.S. officials in the embassy at Bucharest that the Tate brothers were holding a young woman against her will.

Defiant as ever, Andrew Tate is still tweeting and declaring this is a takedown of what he stands for and not connected to his charges.

5 Stabbings & Slashings In NYC Subways Were Reported Over The Weekend

Subway crime in New York City has been steadily getting worse over the past few years. And just when it seemed to be dying down, things now seem to be heating up in the beginning of the summer months.

According to Gothamist, this weekend saw five slashings and stabbings take place in the subway system, which included four incidents taking place near or on the 4 train. To make matters worse, one of the most serious violators is still on the loose as police haven’t been able to track him down.

The Gothamist reports:

Police are searching for a man who reportedly slashed three women in two separate locations along the 4-line, late Sunday afternoon. The three victims were transported to the hospital and one is being treated for a severe injury, police said Monday.

At around 4 p.m. Sunday, the suspect slashed a 19-year-old woman on the leg as she departed the 4 train at the 86th Street and Lexington Ave station on the Upper East Side, police said. Moments later, cops say he slashed another 48-year-old woman on the leg before boarding a southbound 4 train and slashing a 28-year-old woman, 15 minutes later.

Then, on Sunday morning, police found 32-year-old Bronx resident Tavon Silver stabbed to death on a southbound 4 train at Union Square after responding to a 9-1-1 call of a man slumped over in the cart.

But it doesn’t stop there as a 31-year-old was stabbed in the chest on a Manhattan-bound J train on Sunday (June 18), at 2 a.m.

As of Sunday, the J train victim was in stable condition recovering at Kings County Hospital and no arrests had been made in any of the stabbings.

Police are requesting that anyone with information on the incidents call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.

Kanye West’s life right now is a joke that would honestly make for great television, but there was dead a** an attempt by the Chicago rapper to drop a comedy show, and now the pilot has leaked online.

Spotted on Hypebeast, tights, and socks, wearing rapper at one point in his career, wanted to drop a show modeled after Seinfeld creator Larry David’s improvisational comedy show Curb Your Enthusiasm.

The show’s aptly titled A Little Inappropriate pilot episode popped up on YouTube. West got help from Curb director Larry Charles after hearing the Chicago rapper expressed interest in making the show modeled after the hit HBO original show after watching one season.

The nearly 30-minute episode featured Ye visiting a fan for the Make-A-Wish foundation only to discover that the fan was not even sick—definitely, a situation Larry David would hilariously find himself in.

Joining West in the show was Don C, GLC, and ironically Curb stars Jeff Garlin and JB Smoove, plus Wyatt Cenac, who also had an HBO series, Problem Areas.

Per Hypebeast, Cenac revealed the “Through The Wire” crafter sucks at improvising but took the advice of Jerry Seinfeld by surrounding himself with talented people who could.

Sadly for Yeezy, that was not enough to get the show’s pilot picked up by HBO or any other network. But, for those BIG SAD that the show didn’t happen, you can watch it by heading here.

Kanye West Is Still Doing The Most

As for West, right now, he is going through it. adidas is getting rid of whatever stock of his ugly ass sneakers that are left, and he’s out in the streets with his “wife,” Bianca Censori, looking ridiculous.

Oh, and he is still trying to ruin our lives and be President of the United States.

Twitter’s $250M Problem, Bad Bunny Rips Reggaeton Suit & More of the Week’s Biggest Legal Stories

THE BIG STORY: Twitter’s $250 Million Music Problem

In last week’s least surprising development, the music publishers sued Twitter. After years of warnings from National Music Publishers’ Association — David Israelite called Elon Musk’s website his “top legal focus” earlier this year — dozens of the group’s members filed a sweeping copyright lawsuit in federal court.

Surprise or not, the case is a big deal. The publishers claim that Twitter has infringed over 1,700 different songs from writers like Taylor Swift and Beyoncé — a claim that, if proven, could put the social media giant on the hook for as much as $255 million in damages.

Damages aren’t likely the end goal for the publishers. Licensing deals outside the realm of plain ole music streaming, ranging from social media sites like Instagram to gaming platforms like Roblox to fitness services like Peloton, have become an increasingly large slice of the revenue pie for publishers and songwriters in recent years. But many of those deals only came as settlements to lawsuits — just ask Roblox and Peloton. Twitter, the publishers say, is one of the last holdouts refusing to sign such a deal.

If it doesn’t end in a quick settlement, the case will also be a fascinating look at the Digital Millenium Copyright Act, a federal law that limits how websites like Twitter can be sued over copyright infringement by their users — and one that has long frustrated content owners. The DMCA provides sites like Twitter with immunity from litigation over material uploaded by their users, so long as they promptly remove infringing content and ban repeated violators from the platform. The new lawsuit claims Twitter failed to do either of those things, meaning the site has legally forfeited the DMCA’s protections.

In that sense, the lawsuit against Twitter is something of spiritual sequel to a series of cases filed against internet service providers like Cox, which pioneered the argument that providers had waived the DMCA’s safe harbor by failing to crack down on subscribers who repeatedly infringed. After a federal judge ruled that Cox had lost the DMCA’s protections, a jury later ordered the company to pay $1 billion in damages to the three major music companies. Yes, billion, with a “B.”

In their motion to end the case, Daddy Yankee and many other stars argued that the accusers are “effectively claiming ownership of an entire genre of music.” Bad Bunny, in his own filing, said the case aims to “stake monopolistic control over the reggaeton genre.”

BOOSIE BADAZZ GUN CHARGE – Newly-unsealed charging documents against rapper Boosie Badazz revealed that his recent federal gun charge came after San Diego police tracked his Instagram account and even used a helicopter to locate him in an allegedly gang-affiliated neighborhood.

BAD SERVICE? A judge ruled that Sony Music Entertainment could serve a copyright lawsuit on a TikTok rapper by sending him a message through his DMs. The ruling detailed how the label’s lawyers had spent months unsuccessfully trying to do so in-person — including showing up to his mom’s house on Mother’s Day “in hopes that he would be there to celebrate with her.”

50 CENT ENDS BOOZE BATTLE – The rapper reached a settlement with Rémy Martin to resolve a lawsuit that claimed his Branson brand of cognac copied the design of the company’s bottles. The confidential deal will end litigation that 50 Cent’s company had called “meritless” and designed to “destroy a competitor.”

Klinko told Insider that he first met Bey when shooting Destiny’s Child for Vibe back in 2000. “I had no idea who they were until I got the call from Vibe,” he recalled. “Her mom was styling it. And I remember pointing at Beyoncé and saying, ‘This one in the middle here, she’s going to be huge. She has a lot of charisma.’ Her mom just said, ‘Yeah, we know.’”

For the Dangerously in Love cover, Bey was inspired by a photo Klinko took of Laetitia Casta for a diamond advertisement, in which the model in tangled up across a glimmering spiderweb. “She said she really loved that image and if we could do something like that, just smaller, on her. And I didn’t really know how to interpret that,” he said. “That image is very blue, mainly blue, dark blue. When she said it, I didn’t really immediately know what to do about it.”

Beyoncé’s mom Tina Knowles-Lawson ended up bringing the now-iconic diamond top on the cover with her to the shoot, though the “Break My Soul” singer wasn’t immediately on board. “She said she didn’t like it,” he said. “She didn’t think it worked because her mom wanted to pair it with these long skirts. Beyoncé said, ‘This is going to look very prom or red carpet and I don’t want to do that.’”

Klinko then suggested a pair of jeans. “Beyoncé said, ‘Well, we don’t have any denim. We didn’t bring any.’ I said, ‘You might fit my own jeans that I’m wearing,’” he explained. “She said, ‘OK, let’s try.’ So we did.”

And the Dangerously in Love album cover was born. “Beyoncé contributed a lot because she worked it,” Klinko said. “She worked a piece — that’s not easy to do. She found the exact right movement. That wasn’t my idea to put the arms up. That was her idea, and I don’t even know if it was an idea. It was her instinct. And I knew: ‘That’s the cover.’”

Musically, her debut solo effort not only debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, but it spawned multiple classic hits including “Crazy in Love,” “Baby Boy,” “Naughty Girl” and “Me, Myself & I.”

Street Mob Records Signs Expansive Deal With Cinq Music as Regional Mexican Thrives

Street Mob Records has signed a worldwide deal with Cinq Music to distribute the label and expand its opportunities in branding, sponsorships, merchandising and synchronization. The deal will also include new talent discovery for Street Mob Records. 

Founded by Fuerza Regida’s frontman Jesús Ortiz Paz (a.k.a. JOP), Street Mob Records’ artists include Chino Pacas, Calle 24, Ángel Ureta, Chuy Montana, Linea Personal and more rising regional Mexican music — or música mexicana as it is also called — acts.  

“We have worked with Cinq for years and know that they’re committed to the genre,” said Paz in a statement to Billboard Español. “It’s only natural that we should partner with them to grow and expand Street Mob – combining their infrastructure, experience, and reach with our talent.”

“We bet on people, not just music, and it’s obvious that Jesus Ortiz Paz is going to carry his success as an artist into his label,” added Cinq Music president Barry Daffurn. “We are excited to team up with Street Mob Records to accelerate their growth. Cinq already brings billions of streams a month to the music world – now, we’re going to add incredible fuel to that fire with these important artists.”

Since 2018, Cinq Music has also been working with Rancho Humilde — Fuerza Regida’s label — another independent label at the forefront of música mexicana’s recent growth. 

“Regional Mexican [music] is one of the hottest and fastest genres in the world right now, so to have that relationship with someone like Jesús means a lot to us,” continued Daffurn. “From the time we first started working in regional Mexican music, and the first time I sat down with Jimmy [Humilde] of Rancho Humilde, our goal was to bring this music global. The vision at that point was not to make it regional Mexican music, but more música mexicana, expanding it outside that network, to all the countries outside of [Latin America.] Corridos are leading that global expansion.” 

Earlier this month, Street Mob Records and Cinq Music teamed up to release Chino Pacas’ “Yo Preferí Chambear,” which was the premiere of their new partnership. The video already racked up 2.1 million views on YouTube since it dropped 11 days ago.

In March, Chino Pacas entered the Billboard Hot 100 with “El Gordo Trae El Mando,” the artist’s first entry in the historic, all-genres chart.

“We’re operating as a distributor, from a technical standpoint, but as a company, we don’t work with everyone. The artists and labels that we do work with are very high touch,” said Daffurn. “We’re helping them with administrative support, full service marketing, and there’s money involved to make investments so they can build their own infrastructure and grow that way.” 

Fuerza Regida earned its first entry on Billboard Hot 100 in January with “Bebe Dame” alongside Grupo Frontera, a romantic cumbia jam with a grupera swing that peaked at No. 25. Since then, they’ve placed three other tracks on the all-genres chart, “Ch y La Pizza” with Natanael Cano, “Igualito a Mi Apá” with Peso Pluma, and their latest “TQM” on their own.

El Alfa scores his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 (chart dated June 24), as his new collaboration with Peso Pluma, “Plebada” debuts at No. 68.

The song, released June 8 through El Jefe Records, debuts with 7.8 million official streams, 336,000 radio airplay audience impressions and 1,000 downloads sold June 9-15, according to Luminate. It also debuts at No. 12 on Hot Latin Songs and No. 129 on the Billboard Global 200.

Chilean President Gabriel Boric Wants Taylor Swift to Perform in Chile

Taylor Swift announced a series of Latin and South American tour dates for her The Eras run earlier this month, and Chilean President Gabriel Boric is hoping to get the superstar to add Chile to her list.

Boric — who is a self-proclaimed Swiftie — shared in a video posted to YouTube that he reached out to Swift. “I wrote to her not too long ago, let’s see if she responds, so that one day she can include us in her Latin America tour,” he says in the clip, translated to English. “One day, she’ll listen to the Chilean Swifties and I have no doubt she’ll come to Chile. Hopefully sometime within the next three years.”

The total number of Latin American Eras Tour shows now stands at 12, each of which will see support from Sabrina Carpenter. The leg kicks off on August 24 in Mexico City, Mexico, where Swift will play four shows before heading to Buenos Aires Argentina on November 11 for three nights. On November 18, she’ll head down to Brazil to play two shows in Rio de Janeiro and three shows in São Paulo.

Earlier on Tuesday (June 20), Swift also announced more international dates in Europe, Asia and Australia. “EXCUSE ME HI I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY,” Swift wrote on Instagram revealing the news. “I can’t wait to see so many of you on The Eras Tour next year at these new international dates!”
