Much has been written about the benefits of a weighted blanket, which millions of people swear by to help them fall asleep each night. But the bulky blankets can get understandably heavy, and a thick, full-sized covering doesn’t always feel the most comfortable in the balmy summer months.

Fortunately, we’ve found a great weighted blanket alternative on Amazon, with a number of companies introducing weighted heating pads. As the name suggests, a weighted heating pad uses pressure and heat to help ease cramps, muscle soreness, tension and stress.

This one, from the wellness brand OCOTRO, is one of the best-reviewed weighted heating pads online, with more than 70% of users giving it a full, five-star review. At just $27.99 right now, it’s an easy pick up to help with stress relief and recovery.

Weighted Heating Pad for Back Pain Relief

$27.99 $29.99 7% OFF

The pad weighs just over 2 pounds, with tiny weighted beads set inside 32 “grid pockets.” Because the beads are stitched into individual grids, the weight is evenly distributed throughout the pad, with no worries about any beads sliding around.

Four different temperature settings let you adjust the heat to your desired level, with a range of 95 degrees to 140 degrees Fahrenheit.

Measuring 12 x 24 inches (about the size of a hand towel), this heat pad is easy to use and lets you wrap it around your legs and shoulders, or set it on your waist and back. The plush microfiber material is soft and cozy, while staying super breathable; it’s machine-washable too.

This set gets you the weighted heat pad and a seven-foot-long power cord with an attached remote control to adjust settings. Built-in safety settings prevent overheating, and the heating pad will automatically shut off after two hours (most reviewers say they use it for 15-20 minutes at a time).

If you’re looking for a way to ease muscle tension, back aches, cramps, bloating or just everyday stress, you’ll want to try a weighted heating pad. An Amazon deal gets you this best-selling weighted heat pad for just $27.99 right now. See full details here.

Cyrus and Pinkus confirmed their relationship with an April 16 TikTok, which found the couple sharing a romantic kiss in a car. The “I Got So High That I Saw Jesus” singer’s fiancé is fairly mysterious, but there are a few details floating around about him. According to his Instagram profile, Pinkus designs for a clothing brand called COLORS. In her caption, Cyrus gushed about her soon-to-be husband. “I never thought I would ever meet a man like you or someone so selfless and filled with so much love to give,” she mused. “You’re the least judgemental human being I’ve ever met. The most talented, the most loyal, the kindest person.”

In response to his fiancée’s love letter, the German designer commented: “U want kids?” Cyrus’ comments section has been overflowing with congratulations from fans and famous friends alike. The “July” singer closed her caption promising that she “would say ‘yes’ to [Pinkus] every day for the rest of [her] life.”

Hip-hop is celebrating its golden anniversary this year, and an adorable children’s book topped Amazon’s bestseller’s list in the rap/hip-hop category, more than two years after its release. The Story of Rap, originally released in May 2019, shares the story of how rap music “shaped generations and brought a voice to the voiceless,” according to the book’s description.

The picture book notes the birth of hip-hop in 1973 and mentions other important components in hip-hop culture such as DJing. “DJs mixed beats for dancing crowds, speakers thumped, and the bass was loud,” reads a passage from the book.

“Tupac faced Biggie as East battled West,” reads one page while another notes that “soul met hip-hop with A Tribe Called Quest.”

The Story of Rap is a cute way to help commemorate hip-hop’s 50th anniversary. The genre is being celebrated with brand collaborations, tours, TV specials, documentaries, commemorative concerts, albums and more.

On Sunday (June 25), the 2023 BET Awards honored five decades of hip-hop with a jam-packed lineup that featured performances from Migos, Trick Daddy, Trina, E-40, Warren G, Uncle Luke, Big Daddy Kane, Chief Keef, 69 Boyz, Remy Ma, Ja Rule, Kid ‘N Play, MC Lyte, Master P, Soulja Boy, Redman, Jeezy, Tyga, Ice Spice, Coi Leray, Latto, Crime Mob, Doechii, Freeway, Lola Brooke and Busta Rhymes who also received this year’s lifetime achievement.

The Story of Rap is part of The Story Of book series by Silver Dolphin Books, which includes The Story of Country, The Story of Pop and The Story of Rock.

The book typically retails for $8.99, but if you’re looking to save a couple of bucks, it’s on sale for $5. Other hip-hop kid’s books joining The Story of Rap on the bestseller’s list include When the Beat Was Born: DJ Kool Herc & the Creation of Hip-Hop, Hip-Hop Speaks to Children: 50 Inspiring Poems with a Beat and The Notorious A.B.C. Adele Banters With Fans About ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Scandoval: ‘What Does That Man Do?’

Stars, they’re just like us! During one of the shows for her Weekends With Adele Las Vegas residency, Adele took some time to banter with fans and get some answers to her burning questions about Vanderpump Rules.

When the name “Vanderpump” came up, Adele said, “The other day my friend was like, ‘No, they really do restaurants or something.’ So is it related to the TV show, and what does the guy do that cheated?”

For some context, this past March, fans learned about the “Scandoval”: Tom Sandoval, one of the show’s original stars, had been cheating on Ariana Madix, his girlfriend of nine years and a Vanderpump Rules fan favorite, with their castmate and close friend Raquel Leviss. The revelation took social media by storm and resulted in fans choosing sides, with the hashtag #TeamAriana gaining a lot of passionate traction.

After a fan admitted that they weren’t too familiar with the details of the scandal, Adele responded, “Me neither, I’ve got no idea. Does anyone know anything about that Vanderpump stuff?” she said, looking around the crowd. Luckily, the singer was able to find one concert attendee that could fill her in on all of the hot juicy gossip. In response to the Grammy winner’s initial question of who Tom Sandoval is, the fan replied, “He’s trash. He tries to sing, but he’s no Adele… he’s on the TV show pretending to be a server, he wants to be an entertainer now, but…”

Adele caught on to the fan’s shade and quipped about how “everyone in L.A.” wants to be an entertainer. The “Hello” singer even joked about the time someone tried to slip her demo while she was going out to eat.

Adele may not be a regular Vanderpump Rules viewer, but at least she got some of her questions about the show’s monthslong controversies answered.

Video Of Keith Murray Allegedly “On Drugs” Has Lord Jamar & Others Expressing Concern

So, yeah—we should probably all be really worried about Hip-Hop veteran Keith Murray.

Earlier this year Black Twitter was speculating that Murray was as high as the most beautifullest kite when he went full TMI (and that’s putting it mildly) during an appearance on The Art Of Dialogue.

But recently, a video has surfaced that shows the Enigma MCwandering in a circle while appearing to be on drugs and/or experiencing a serious mental health episode. The video was so unsettling that his fellow “Live Wires Connect” artist, Lord Jamar, posted it on Instagram with a message of concern for Murray, who he indicated he had past friction with.

“Our brother @keithmurrayrap obviously needs serious help,” the Brand Nubian rapper captioned the post. “I don’t have to see this man do drugs in front of me to know he’s on drugs. Dude crossed a line with me, that I believe if he wasn’t on drugs he wouldn’t have crossed, so I forgive him. We need to get our brother clean, cause this is a horrible look.”

This isn’t the first time notable artists in the Hip Hop world, including Jamar, have implored Murray to get help for whatever is harming him.

From Hip Hop DX:

Prior to his IG post, Lord Jamar implored Murray to get help on his podcast on Thursday (June 22). Jamar was addressing Murray’s prior appearance on another podcast, in which Murray allegedly threated to “slap the shit out of [Lord Jamar]” when he saw him again.

But rather than feed into the taunts, Jamar addressed the larger, underlying issue. “At the end of the day, I just want to say that addiction something that is serious,” he said. “You know, many of us had people in our families that have suffered from addiction, and although we may not like some of the things that they do … we still love them at the end of the day. So hey, Keith — still love you, brother.”

Murray’s precarious mental state is something that was also recently alluded to by N.O.R.E., who addressed why he reneged on having Murray on an episode of Drink Champs back in March.

“We love Keith Murray, but let’s also be upfront,” he said. “We’re concerned. His mental health doesn’t seem that we could put him in this environment and smoke and drink. Now, if he can we gon’ do it. If he can sit, he can smoke, he can drink, we gon’ do it.”

He continued: “Or he doesn’t have to smoke or drink. We don’t wanna — the thing is we have responsibilities. We know there’s a certain amount of people that watch us every week, every month, every muthafuckin’ year, but why would we put a rap legend in jeopardy? And that’s what it’s feeling like.”

Doodlebug of Digable Planets and legendary Hip Hop producers 9th Wonder and Immortal Technique were among those who commented in support of the Def Squad rapper Jamar’s IG post.

Worth noting is that Keith Murray performed during last night’s BET Awards and did a fine enough job.

We all hope Keith Murray is OK, and that he’s getting the help he clearly needs. Damn, this is getting scary.

Rihanna is officially stepping down as the CEO of her Savage X Fenty company, in a move to further the vision and earning potential of the brand.

According to reports, the superstar singer announced that she would be leaving the role with the lingerie brand that she co-founded in 2018 with another group including luxury house LVMH effective on Monday (June 26). Hillary Super, the former CEO of Anthropologie Group will take over the reins as Rihanna will remain executive chair. Since that origin point, her valuation is set at $1.4 billion.

“It’s been beautiful to see our vision for Savage X Fenty impact the industry at such an incredible magnitude over the last five years,” Rihanna said in a statement. “This is just the beginning for us, and we’re going to continue to expand in ways that always connect with the consumer. I’m so grateful and excited to welcome Hillary Super as our new CEO — she is a strong leader and is focused on taking the business to an even higher level.”

“I’m thrilled to join the Savage X Fenty family,” Super said in the press release. “The brand is a major powerhouse in the lingerie and apparel industry, and its unwavering commitment to celebrating inclusivity and fearlessness is inspiring.” Prior to her being global CEO at Anthropologie, she served in leadership roles at American Eagle, Gap and Old Navy as well as Guess.

For the “Diamonds” singer, the move is another step towards realizing a stronger connection with the consumer beyond digital sales. The Savage X Fenty brand opened up brick-and-mortar locations in seven cities across the United States which include Los Angeles, Houston, Las Vegas and Atlanta, fueled by earning $125 million in investments at the beginning of last year aided by other groups including Jay-Z’s Marcy Venture Partners. Also adding to the brand’s appeal, the Valentine’s Day specials produced in conjunction with Amazon Prime have brought in more viewers and customers.

Fivio Foreign’s trip to Paris didn’t exactly turn out how he might’ve hoped for as the Brooklyn rapper found himself drugged up and messed up after a nasty outing.

TMZ is reporting that the Drill rapper is claiming that he was roofied while having a night out with his peoples at the Paris nightclub, L’Arc, for Paris Fashion Week. Though it’s being reported that some kind of commotion ensued while Fivio was in an altered state of mind, details about the incident aren’t being revealed by anyone involved in the situation.

TMZ reports:

The rapper’s reps were not specific as to the nature of the altercation, but it was serious enough that cops had a talk with him.

Fivio’s reps tell us while police did speak with their client, he was not arrested or detained. However, it looks like what did go down between Fivio and the other party may have spilled into the streets.

As for allegedly getting roofied … Fivio’s reps say that’s what set him off in the club.

Gotta be careful with how you move when you’re out and about these days. Luckily, Fivio wasn’t hurt or taken into custody.

What do y’all think might’ve went down in Paris? Let us know in the comments section below.

Twitter Thinks Offset Is Accusing Cardi B Of Cheating

2023 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Hosted By Radhika Jones - Arrivals

Offset is the subject of Twitter chatter once again after a curious message posted to his Instagram page has fans discussing the particulars of his marriage to Cardi B. It appears to some that Offset was accusing his wife of having sex with another person, but it is unclear what the Migos rapper was trying to convey.

Offset, who just reunited with his Migos bandmate Quavo for a moving tribute to Takeoff and a performance at the 2023 BET Awards, apparently took to his Instagram Stories feed where he wrote, “My wife f*cked a N*gga on me on gang yall n*ggas know how I come.”

The message, which is no longer available online so we weren’t able to confirm, has some on Twitter thinking that Offset was claiming that Cardi stepped out on him, something he’s been said to have done in times past.

This has prompted some on Twitter to clown Offset and call him some uncomfortable names that we won’t repeat in the body of this text. As we searched through Twitter for more reactions, one user shared that Cardi addressed the rumors in a Twitter Spaces chat and essentially said that her husband is reading into things out of order and that she isn’t out here moving funny while also threatening violence in her usual fashion.

We haven’t heard any new developments in the story so this unconfirmed accusation should be taken with a grain of salt. Hopefully, this doesn’t mean there are active issues between the couple and this is just a huge misunderstanding. That said, folks are online zeroing in on the couple’s past issues and not giving Offset any slack.

Check out the reactions below.

Patti LaBelle Says She Did Her ‘Best’ After Forgetting Lyrics During 2023 BET Performance

Patti LaBelle showed the world what a pro she is when she powered through her tribute to Tina Turner Sunday (June 25) during the 2023 BET Awards, despite forgetting some of the lyrics to the late artist’s hit “The Best” while she was on stage. After the set, LaBelle shared with Entertainment Tonight that she gave the performance her all.

“It meant no matter what voice I’m in — I’m hoarse, I have a cold — but whatever, I had to, I was giving it up for Tina Turner, ’cause she’s simply the best,” the Grammy winner told ET of how important it was for her to honor her friend, who died in May at age 83. “So you heard a little tweak every now and then out there, but I love her, and I did my best.”

The “tweaks” the Grammy winner is referring to are the two moments when she forgot the lyrics, and ad-libbed instead. Just ahead of the first chorus, LaBelle started humming before admitting, “I’m trying my best, y’all.” Then without missing a beat, she launched into the chorus.

The second time, the celebrated singer told the live audience at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles — while singing her words completely in tune to the song — “I get … whatever. I can’t see the words I don’t know!”

A BET spokesperson later told The Hollywood Reporter that the singer’s view of the teleprompter was blocked during her tribute performance for Turner. “Due to the crowd’s enthusiasm, the teleprompter was obstructed, obscuring Ms. LaBelle’s view of the lyrics,” the rep explained. “Nonetheless, we couldn’t be more grateful to Ms. LaBelle for lending her incredible talent to this moment.”

LaBelle opened up about her performance with Good Morning America on Monday (June 26) as well, saying she was “proud” to have paid tribute to Turner on the 2023 BET Awards show. “I was so blessed to be asked to honor Tina Turner because that was my friend from back in the day. Such a wonderful woman who’s done everything — and so many people admire her,” she told ABC’s long-running morning show. “And when I did it last night, I was proud, honey! I felt really great. … I’m just in awe of Tina Turner.”

Another artist who received a tribute during the ceremony Sunday night was Takeoff. Offset and Quavo of Migos delivered a surprise set to honor their fallen bandmate in their first performance together since the 28-year-old rapper was fatally shot last November. “Do it for Take!” the two shouted as the screen transformed from a rocket to an image of the late artist.

Watch a clip from LaBelle’s GMA interview below:
