Rammstein’s Till Lindemann Cleared of Sexual Assault Allegations

Till Lindemann, frontman of incendiary German metal act Rammstein, is a free man after the Berlin public prosecutor’s office dropped its sexual assault investigation, citing a lack of evidence.

The probe was initiated in June, when several women came forward with claims they were plied with substances at pre- or after-show parties, and recruited to engage in sexual activity.

One of those accusers, Shelby Lynn, from Northern Ireland, told the BBC she was recruited and “groomed” for sex with the singer after a May concert in Vilnius, Lithuania. Lynn claimed her drink was spiked at the show, but says she wasn’t sexually assaulted.

Lindemann always denied the allegations, and lawyers for the 60-year-old singer called them “without exception untrue”.

Now, Lindemann has been cleared on suspicion of committing sexual offenses and violations of German’s Narcotics Act.

“The statements made by witnesses in the press reports have not been confirmed by the investigations,” reads a press release issued Tuesday (Aug. 29) by the public prosecutor’s office.

Afterwards, Lindemann posted a brief message to his social channels, reading: “I thank all those who have waited impartially for the end of the investigation.”

When the allegations emerged earlier this month, the band members issued a statement to say they took them “extremely seriously” and condemn all forms of abuse, adding that fans should feel safe “in front and behind the stage” at shows. Also, the rockers asked that they “not be pre-judged.”

Politicians weighed in. German Families Minister Lisa Paus called for an “alliance against sexism” and safety from abusive behavior, telling the AFP news agency, “young people in particular need to be better protected from attacks here.”

Formed in 1994, Rammstein has consistently been one of Germany’s most popular — and controversial — rock music exports.

The band’s explosive concerts have landed them on festival headline slots around the world, and, at times, put them at loggerheads with health and safety. A planned 2001 concert at former London venue Astoria was scrapped “due to significant restrictions to their stageshow and pyrotechnics” — in other words, authorities were worried the inner-city venue would light up.

The group has also courted controversy with its lyrical content and music videos, which have included a hardcore pornographic promo for the 2009 single “Pussy”, and the clip for 2019’s “Deutschland” which was blasted as tasteless and unacceptable by Jewish organizations for its depiction of band members as concentration camp inmates.

Their success as a touring juggernaut and record-seller is in no doubt. In 2019, Rammstein’s untitled seventh studio LP debuted at No. 1 on the album charts in 14 countries, according to Universal Music.

Duran Duran Get Their ‘Danse Macabre’ On: Stream It Now

Duran Duran wave in their new era with the release of “Danse Macabre,” a fresh cut with shades of darkness.

Teased earlier this month, “Danse Macabre” (which translates to the Dance of Death) is the title track from the Rock And Roll Hall of Famers’ forthcoming 16th studio album, due out Oct. 27 via Tape Modern/BMG.

The legendary ‘80s band welcome on board some familiar guests for the forthcoming LP, including former guitarists Andy Taylor and Warren Cuccurullo, Paper Gods collaborator Mr. Hudson, longtime producer Nile Rodgers, and Måneskin’s Victoria De Angelis.

Announced in March as a “special new music project,” Danse Macabre is a Halloween concept album, “catalyzed by one special live performance” in Las Vegas on Oct. 31, 2022, reads a statement from the band’s reps.

It’s “the soundtrack to their ultimate Halloween party,” and contains three new compositions, including the first release, plus reworked songs, and covers of songs by Billie Eilish, Talking Heads, The Rolling Stones, Siouxsie And The Banshees and more.

Spanning 13 songs, Duran Duran “unearth bright melodies from the darkness, threading together new songs, themed covers, and newly reimagined versions of their own ‘spooky’ classics,” reads the official statement.

Opening with a fog horn and a synth riff reminiscent of “All She Wants Is,” “Danse Macabre” is like no Duran Duran song that came before it. Cuccurullo and Hudson assist on “Danse Macabre”, over which Simon Le Bon raps out the opening verse. Joshua Blair produces.

The song “celebrates the joy and madness of Halloween,” says founding band member and keyboardist Nick Rhodes. The idea for the album, he continues, was born out of that Sin City show. “We had decided to seize the moment to create a unique, special event…the temptation of using glorious gothic visuals set to a dark soundtrack of horror and humor was simply irresistible.”

After all these years, says founding member and bass player John Taylor, “Danse Macabre offers an interesting insight into the personality of the band. The music packs a real punch.”

Danse Macabre follows a dizzying spell of activity for the band, which included their 2022 induction into the Rock Hall at a ceremony in Los Angeles, where the band members revealed for the first time Andy Taylor’s cancer diagnosis. Also, DD headlined London’s Hyde Park, performed at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace, closed the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games on their home soil of Birmingham, and worked their way across North America for a headline tour which included sold out shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden, three nights at the Hollywood Bowl, and a special Cancer Awareness Trust fundraiser Aug. 19 at The Guild Theatre in Menlo Park, CA.

North America dates continue Thursday, Aug. 31 at Minnesota State Fair in St. Paul, MN.

The English act’s last album, 2021’s Future Past, debuted at No. 3 on the Official U.K. Albums Chart, their highest-charting effort since the classic lineup reunited in 2004 for Astronaut, which also peaked at No. 3.

One America News Network Embarrasses Own Employees With ‘Real America’ MAGA Rap Video

HipHopWired Featured Video

Kurt Jantz aka Forgiato Blow

Source: YouTube / Youtube

At this point, it’s clear that folks in the MAGA world are running out of new ways to embarrass themselves and are trying and failing miserably at being more creative.

You might remember Kurt Jantz aka Forgiato Blow, the Trump-humping faux rapper who periodically drops political Hip-Hop videos on YouTube that prove he knows absolutely nothing about politics or Hip-Hop. (But if we’re ever looking for the greatest white supr-emcee of Hick Hop, we know who to call.)

Well, now the Ted Nugent of Bubba Sparxxxes has a new video featuring host Dan Ball of One America News Network, which is basically a less popular Fox News with an even more insidious misinformation mission to make dummies dumber. This Time, Forgiato’s song titled “Real America” takes aim at the latest indictment of ex-commander-in-would-be-thief Donald Trump in Georgia.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=znoFeicCJl8&version=3&rel=1&showsearch=0&showinfo=1&iv_load_policy=1&fs=1&hl=en-US&autohide=2&wmode=transparent

In the video, the Kid Rock of Insane Clown Possies wore a shirt with a photoshopped image of Trump’s mugshot, which means either the video was filmed before his actual mugshot was released, or because Forgiato, like all MAGA marauders, simply prefers the lie to the truth.

In the video, Forgiato repeats the popular MAGA strawman argument that simply questioning the election results isn’t illegal. Of course, smart people understand that neither Trump nor any of his 18 alleged co-conspirators have been charged under Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) statute just for vocally questioning the results of the 2020 presidential race. Smart people also understand how easy a thing it is to look up exactly what offenses Trump and friends are accused of committing.

But Forgiato isn’t a smart person, and neither is Ball or whoever watches his generic brand right-wing propaganda network. They are, however, cringey and oozing with secondhand embarrassment. Or in the case of some of the employees down at Own, firsthand embarrassment.

From the Daily Beast:

The video is guaranteed secondhand embarrassment for any viewers not fully living a MAGA alt-reality. And OAN employees seemed to realize that, as two people familiar with the matter told Confider that some staffers walked out prior to filming because they didn’t want to be a part of it. One OAN employee added that staffers generally did not know about the video shoot until the last minute and just went along with it. Much of the finger-pointing was aimed directly at Ball: “I need to leave OAN ASAP! I am sick and tired of Dan Ball’s antics, and so are so many others,” one current OAN anchor wrote to Confider. Other current and former staffers told Confider they are “officially taking OAN off my resume after watching this” or that they “can’t stop laughing” at the “bizarre” video.

It probably doesn’t help that Ball can be seen awkwardly trying to catch the vibe with stiff movements that almost looked like he was trying to dance a little, but in a claps-on-the-one-and-three-fifths kind of way.

To be fair, he might have been trying to match that smooth and impeccable Trump rhythm.

If only these people were smart enough to know shame.

They not though.

Judge Referenced Notorious B.I.G. When Dismissing Copyright Lawsuit Against Future

Future has one less thing to worry about thanks to a judge that is tune with the culture. Judge Martha Pacold referenced some classic works when dismissing a copyright lawsuit.

As spotted on TMZ the trapper turned rapper was sued about two years ago by DaQuan Robinson. The man claimed he created a song titled “When I Think About It” and sent the work to Future’s team. In 2017 Pluto released on the Beastmode 2 mixtape which featured his song “When U Think About It”.  Robinson claims that Future lifted elements from his version and even spoke on a lot of the same content he did. Fast forward to 2023, Judge Pacold threw out his case citing that those themes are generally found in many Rap songs and are not protected by copyright.

The magistrate went on to further detail her ruling by referring to earlier works from The Notorious B.I.G., Kanye West and even the Wu-Tang Clan. She also cited Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young’s hit song “Our House” regarding Robinson’s “core lyric” copyright claim. “The core lyric, ‘our house is a very, very, very fine house,’ is used to support the entire rest of the song, which uses the house and its constituent elements as the setting for the narrator’s relationship,” said Pacold. “This songwriting technique is not unique to Robinson, nor mid-century Canadian-American bands that feature intricate vocal harmonies. The mere use of a ‘core lyric’ to support a song’s storyline is not protectable element because it is a frequently utilized technique in popular songwriting.”

Future has yet to comment on the favorable ruling.

Burna Boy Bolting to U.K. No. 1 With ‘I Told Them…’

Afrobeats star Burna Boy blasts into top spot in the U.K. chart race with I Told Them…, his seventh studio LP.

The Nigeria-born artist leads the Official Chart Update with his latest release, which features assists from Dave, 21 Savage and J. Cole.

If it holds its position, I Told Them… would give Burna Boy his first crown, and fourth U.K. top 40 appearance, after 2019’s African Giant (No. 16), 2020’s Twice As Tall, and 2022’s Love, Damini, which both peaked at No. 2.

At least two tracks from it are predicted to crash the top 40 on the U.K. singles chart, including “Sittin’ On Top Of The World” and “Cheat On Me” with Dave.

Burna Boy’s career has been cooking of late. Earlier this summer, he became the first African artist to headline a stadium concert in the U.K., when he played his Love, Damini tour date at a packed-out 60,000 capacity London Stadium.

Born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Burna Boy already has a No. 1 on the U.K. singles chart for 2019’s “Own It,” with Stormzy and Ed Sheeran. On the other side of the Atlantic, he won a Grammy Award for 2020’s Twice as Tall (best global music album), and headlined a headline show at New York’s Madison Square Garden in April 2022.

According to the Official Charts Company, Steps singer Claire Richards could snag a career-best solo appearance with her second LP Euphoria. It’s new at No. 2 on the chart blast, and should outpace her solo debut, 2019’s My Wildest Dreams, which peaked at No. 9.

Shock-rock legend Alice Cooper is on track for his highest-charting album since 1989 with Road, new at No. 3 on the midweek tally, while indie-pop artist Ashnikko’s debut album Weedkiller could plant itself in the top 10. It’s new at No. 4 on the Official Chart Update.

Close behind is Digga D, with the hip-hop artist’s latest full-length set Back to Square One. It’s set to drop in at No. 6. The British rapper, singer and songwriter led the chart last year with his mixtape Noughty By Nature.

All will be revealed when the Official U.K. Albums Chart is published late Friday, Sept. 1.

Selena Gomez’s 10-Year-Old Sister Gives Brooklyn Beckham a Buzz Cut: See the Pic

Brooklyn Beckham is looking a lot like his soccer-superstar dad David Beckham in new photos — and he has Selena Gomez‘s baby sister to thank.

On Tuesday (Aug. 29), Gomez shared a photo to her Instagram Story of 10-year-old half-sister Gracie Teefey giving Brooklyn a buzz cut with the caption “My Babies.” Beckham and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, also shared pics of the newly shaved hairstyle on Monday, as well as a pic of Nicola holding the razor, but we didn’t know who else was behind the clippers until now.

The look recalls David Beckham’s famous buzz cut that he’s sported over the years, and it looks like he and Brooklyn are in this together, because Dad showed off his own shaved head on vacation just last week.

Peltz shared a carousel of photos featuring Brooklyn’s new ‘do on Monday, as well as a pic of her hugging Teefey. Gomez has been publicly tight with the younger Beckham couple for almost a year, with Nicola and Selena sharing frequent pics together on social media starting in late 2022. Peltz celebrated her 28th birthday in January with Gomez and Teefey in attendance. Brooklyn Beckham married actress Nicola Peltz in April 2022.

Gomez made her musical comeback last week, releasing the frothy pop song “Single Soon” and a girls-night-out video to match on Friday.

Below, find pics of Gracie and Nicola buzzing off Brooklyn’s hair, plus more pics of the new cut.

Ye AKA Kanye West Allegedly Got His Mic Checked On Boat, Cheeks Out & Everything

Celebrity Sightings In Los Angeles - May 13, 2023

Kanye West and his wife Bianca Censori have made a number of head-turning appearances over the years as is the “Way of Ye” as it relates to his public persona. Speaking of head-turning, a risque photo of Yeezy allegedly getting his mic checked while on a boat made its rounds online and the reactions were priceless.

Kanye West, 46, and Bianca Censori, 28, were spotted on a private boat in Venice according to several reports from TMZ and other outlets. From what we could tell from the photo, Ye, dressed in all Black with his face covered, was sitting on the back end of the small boat with Censori kneeling in front of him.

By way of onlooker photos and other snaps, Ye’s pants are clearly down around his ankles and Censori’s arm can be seen resting as if she’s getting a good look at things, if you catch our drift. As shown in TMZ’s report, other boaters had their phones out and Ye didn’t seem bothered by all the attention. In fact, he didn’t do anything to cover up the situation.

Making all of this particularly interesting is that Ye and Censori aren’t on the boat alone. In one flick, it looked like the captain turned around to take a gander himself. In a video that was posted to TikTok, Ye and Censori casually exit the boat which appeared to be a river taxi, and casually stroll down the street like Ye’s buttcheeks weren’t exposed on a boat.

Of course, we can’t post photos or videos of the moment but it’s out there if you know where to look. We’ve got reactions from X, formerly known as Twitter, below.

August 08, Def Jam Singer-Songwriter, Dies at 31

Los Angeles singer-songwriter August 08 has died at age 31.

“The entire Def Jam family mourns the tragic loss of Ray’ August 08′ Jacobs,” Def Jam said in a statement to Billboard on Tuesday (Aug. 29). “A brilliant songwriter, an accomplished musician and a singular artist, August will remain in our memory as a beloved colleague and friend. We extend our deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones.”

Born Ray Jacobs, August was the first signee to Jhene Aiko’s Allel Sound label and released his first EP under her imprint in July 2022. Titled Towards the Moon, August’s project was anchored by his song “Water Sign” with Aiko. Towards the Moon was the follow-up to his April 2022 EP Towards the Sun.

“August is an incredible writer, singer and artist whose music speaks to me on so many levels… As a fellow Los Angeles native, I am so proud of him,” Aiko told Variety last year upon signing him. “August’s talent, love for songwriting and hands on approach with his art is something I can relate to and have a great amount of respect for. It was a natural evolution of our friendship and musical collaboration to have him become the first artist signed to Allel Sound. I couldn’t be more excited to work with August.”

Before August teamed with Def Jam and Aiko’s label, he previously aligned with 88rising, where he worked with Joji on his Seasick album cut “What We Used To Be.” He also paired himself with ScHoolboy Q on “Cutlass” on the aforementioned project.

“RIP August the kindest and most talented genius you will be missed beyond words,” 88rising shared on Instagram. “Thank you for being an amazing mentor and a steadfast friend through all these years. We are forever grateful to you and the joy you brought in every room, through every song. Your energy, guidance and care gave so much inspiration and strength that will be carried on always.”

In June, August 08 released “Bruises,” which he called “an expression of love through all.” “Been through a lot of heartache in my love life but I’ve always been able to put the pieces back together and move forward. ‘Bruises’ speaks to love and how it may waiver but never completely abandons us,” he said after the release. “This video represents love in all forms and how no matter our difference we can love through all. I love how music can connect people from all over allowing for freedom of express. I wanted to pay homage with love and respect to the art and the community.”

On the songwriting side, August collaborated with Ty Dolla $ign, Duckwrth, Kyle and more. He also co-wrote DJ Khaled’s Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “I’m the One,” featuring Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne.

“I’ll respect his wishes,” the politician told MSNBC, before referencing the rapper’s “The Real Slim Shady” song. “But I’ll just say, will the real Slim Shady please stand up?”

He continued, “Eminem, in his rise, used to be a guy who stood up to the establishment and said the things that the establishment didn’t want him to say. I think the fact that my political viewpoints may differ from his — I think people will change over the course of their lives. But I have hope for him, that he will one day rediscover the renegade that made him great. And I’m rooting for that success in his life.”

Earlier this week, Ramaswamy retweeted a Daily Mail article detailing the cease-and-desist letter after the candidate rapped rapped the lyrics to “Lose Yourself” while campaigning on stage at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines on August 12. “Will The REAL Slim Shady Please Stand Up? He didn’t just say what I think he did, did he?” he tweeted along with a laughing emoji.
