“This is a great tool if you have wood floors. Picks up dust in between crevices! Then needs to recharge for several hours.

“Perfect vacuum for my 1300 [square] foot home! I can clean the whole house on one charge,” reads a review on Walmart.com. “The new roller keeps hair from accumulating! I love it!”

NBC’s Kristen Welker Dragged For Letting Donald Trump Lie Unchallenged On ‘Meet The Press’

It’s about time journalists everywhere implement a new rule: If you can’t interview Donald Trump without babying him with softball questions and refusing to call him out while he sits there and lies to you, then just don’t interview Donald Trump.

On Sunday, NBC aired a new episode of Meet the Press, which featured the show’s new host Kristen Welker, who replaced host Chuck Todd. The general consensus—at least from everyone who isn’t a dedicated Trump acolyte who thinks up is down, left is right, and a legal election was stolen from Trump thought non-existent election fraud—is that all Kristen did was let Trump talk over her and tell demonstrable lies with little to no pushback.

NBC did publish a fact check on Trump’s interview, which generally showed that virtually everything that came out of Trump’s booty-hole-shaped mout was a lie from the moment he stated, “I have all the facts,” and then went on to falsely claim, once again, that the 2020 presidential race was stolen from him. But, while it’s true that trying to fact-check Trump in real-time would be like publicly cataloging every single day that the sun rises and falls, most people seem to think Welker could have done a better job of, at the ver least, pushing back on Trump’s most obvious lies.

For example: When Trump said regarding Democrats’ abortion policies, “You have some states that are allowed to kill the child after birth,” that was not a moment to gloss over, nor was it when he got specific and said, “You have New York state and other places that passed legislation where you’re allowed to kill the baby after birth.”

Nah, if a Republican tells you Democrats have made baby murder legal, it’s OK to tell them plainly that what they said isn’t just cap, it’s an entire sombrero. Nobody with a brain is going to accuse you of liberal media bias over that.

Another example: Trump claimed, as he has ad nauseam over the past two years, that the 2020 election was stolen from him. That lie, his “big lie,” was to be expected. There’s just no way he wasn’t going to continue that one. But then Trump said this: “If this were ever before a court, we would win so easy. There is so much evidence that the election was rigged.”

In fact, Trump brought nearly 60 lawsuits that were heard by lower court, appellate courts, state supreme courts and even the U.S. Supreme Court, and just about every one of his suits were dismissed due to lack of evidence.

So many opportunities to put Trump in his place and let him hang himself by trying to defend clear-as-day lies were missed. Sorry, that’s just deplorable journalism, and everyone involved, including Wlker, should feel ashamed.

“Ready or Not” was released alongside the rest of CRAVITY’s six-song EP SUN SEEKER on Sept. 11. The song’s music video, however, was teased on the StarshipTV YouTube account beginning Sept. 8.

SUN SEEKER is the K-pop group’s second EP in 2023, following Master: Piece, which premiered in March.

Multiple songs by MohBad follow, led by “Peace” at No. 2, following the Nigerian singer and rapper’s Sept. 12 death. The songs “Feel Good” and “Ask About Me” also appear in the top 10 at Nos. 5 and 8, respectively. A cause of death has not yet been released.

“Big Difference,” a track from Nicki Minaj’s upcoming album Pink Friday 2 that was premiered during the MTV Video Music Awards on Sept. 12, bows at No. 3, and Shakira’s 2002 hit “Objection (Tango)” (No. 55 on the Billboard Hot 100 that September) starts at No. 4 after it was featured in a medley of tunes she performed at the VMAs when she received the Video Vanguard Award.

Ice Spice Clowns Her Own ‘Really Nasty’ Scrambled Eggs After Fans Roast Her Cooking Attempt

This Barbie can’t cook! “Barbie World” rapper Ice Spice is no stranger to going viral, but she’s never taken over the internet because of her cooking — until now.

On Sunday (Sept. 17), Ice posted a now-deleted TikTok of her making some scrambled eggs, and things were rocky from the start. “Uh, I don’t know girl,” she said as she whisked together eggs, raw onion, tomatoes, spinach and a bit of water before scrambling them in an oiled pan. In all fairness, Ice did warn viewers that the eggs might be “really nasty because [she’s] not a cook and it’s [her] first time.”

Naturally, the Internet had to poke some fun at their “Princess Diana,” with one user calling noting that the dish “looks tragic,” according to Us Weekly.

Later that day, a user uploaded Ice’s TikTok to X (formerly Twitter) to the tune of 65.2 million views. “Ice Spice making breakfast and it looks… interesting,” captioned the user. “Well at least she’s eating her spinach ??.” The “In Ha Mood” rapper then quoted the posted, cheekily writing, “pls delete” alongside of slew of queasy emojis.

Ice Spice’s culinary struggles are particularly hilarious considering how connections to food have followed her throughout her young career. She had her breakout moment with a song called “Munch” — although that song is about eating something a bit different from food — and her most recent single bears the title “Deli.”

Of course, all of this pales in comparison to her new Ice Spice Munchkin Drink at Dunkin’, which launched on Sept. 13. The coffee drink — which includes blended up pumpkin spice munchkins — gifted the world a hilarious commercial starring Ice and Oscar-winning actor Ben Affleck. The official spot debuted during the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards (Sept. 12), where Ice was crowd best new artist. In the commercial, the two stars brainstorm the name and concept for the new drink. A hilarious new scene featuring a creepy Munchkin doll was released on Sept. 14.

Ice Spice has earned four top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100: “Karma” (No. 2, with Taylor Swift), “Princess Diana” (No. 4, with Nicki Minaj), “Barbie World” (No. 7, with Minaj & AQUA), and PinkPantheress duet “Boy’s A Liar, Pt. 2” (No. 3). On the Billboard 200Like..? — her debut EP — peaked at No. 15.

Vernon Reid of Living Colour Blasts ‘Rolling Stone’s’ Jann Wenner

Jann Wenner of Rolling Stone infamy is facing heat for his bigoted comments—rhetoric which Vernon Reid of Living Colour calls “not surprising”.

On Monday, the guitarist from the legendary Black rock group expressed his views on the Rolling Stone co-founder’s disparaging comments about Black and female musicians in an interview with TMZ. “Well, I’m actually a little grateful he said the quiet part out loud,” Reid began. “He basically told us about his position. A lot of it is about class. A lot of it is about access. He’s talking about his friends, and that’s okay.”

He continued: “But when you call musicians “The Masters” in this certain context and you leave out a Stevie Wonder, then the questions have to be raised. How do you say that when Joni Mitchell is still alive? How do you say that with Chrissie Hynde? How do you not engage with Meshell Ndegeocello, who’s built one of the most impressive bodies of work in the last 20 to 30 years?”

“It’s staggering, but kind of not surprising. It’s always been a part of the hierarchical, top-down structure of what is considered worthy of attention,” Reid concluded. When asked if white legends such as Bono or Bruce Springsteen should speak out, he was direct. “Let it be real. If this upsets them, let them talk about it, but don’t be performative,” he said.

Wenner came under fire after the comments, which were made in a New York Times interview concerning his book of Rolling Stone interviews The Masters, were revealed. When asked why he didn’t have interviews with Black musicians and women musicians, he responded: “Stevie Wonder, genius, right? I suppose when you use a word as broad as ‘masters,’ the fault is using that word. Maybe Marvin Gaye, or Curtis Mayfield? I mean, they just didn’t articulate at that level.” Wenner would follow that up by speculating that he should’ve included one of those interviews to avoid criticism. “Maybe I’m old-fashioned and I don’t give a (expletive) or whatever.”

The backlash led to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame issuing a statement on Sunday (September 17th) saying “Jann Wenner has been removed from the board of directors of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation.” Wenner has since issued an apology to CNN, saying “I totally understand the inflammatory nature of badly chosen words and deeply apologize and accept the consequences.”

Jordan Peele Readies Release Of Horror Anthology Book ‘Out Here Screaming’

HipHopWired Featured Video

'Nope' World Premiere

Jordan Peele has come a long way since the early days of his hit comedy sketch series Key & Peele and is now considered one of the leading masters in the Horror film genre. Over the summer, it was revealed that Peele would be serving as a co-editor for the upcoming Horror anthology Out Here Screaming, which drops early next month.

We first learned of the release of Out There Screaming: An Anthology of New Black Horror via Bloody Disgusting back in July. With the buzz around the new book ramping up close to its release date, other outlets are putting out the word about Jordan Peele and his latest venture. Peele edited the book alongside editor John Joseph Adams.

More from publisher Penguin Random House:

The visionary writer and director of Get Out, Us, and Nope, and founder of Monkeypaw Productions, curates this groundbreaking anthology of all-new stories of Black horror, exploring not only the terrors of the supernatural but the chilling reality of injustice that haunts our nation.

A cop begins seeing huge, blinking eyes where the headlights of cars should be that tell him who to pull over. Two freedom riders take a bus ride that leaves them stranded on a lonely road in Alabama where several unsettling somethings await them. A young girl dives into the depths of the Earth in search of the demon that killed her parents. These are just a few of the worlds of Out There Screaming, Jordan Peele’s anthology of all-new horror stories by Black writers. Featuring an introduction by Peele and an all-star roster of beloved writers and new voices, Out There Screaming is a master class in horror, and—like his spine-chilling films—its stories prey on everything we think we know about our world . . . and redefine what it means to be afraid.

Featuring stories by: Erin E. Adams, Violet Allen, Lesley Nneka Arimah, Maurice Broaddus, Chesya Burke, P. Djèlí Clark, Ezra Claytan Daniels, Tananarive Due, Nalo Hopkinson, N. K. Jemisin, Justin C. Key, L. D. Lewis, Nnedi Okorafor, Tochi Onyebuchi, Rebecca Roanhorse, Nicole D. Sconiers, Rion Amilcar Scott, Terence Taylor, and Cadwell Turnbull.

Out Here Screaming: An Anthology of New Black Horror releases on October 3.

Latin Night Market

On Friday (Sept. 23), Dyckman Street in Inwood will turn into a venue of Latin delicacies when it hosts its first Late Night Latin Market and serves up some delicious cultural plates from numerous Latin countries.

According to Gothamist the MASC Hospitality Group has helped organize the event and are looking forward to welcoming the good people of New York to the Late Night Latin Market where they’ll find food from countries like El Salvador, Colombia and Puerto Rico along with live music and performances to entertain attendees as they chow down on some savory dishes. We. Can’t. Wait.

The Gothamist reports:

“The focus is on a true representation of Latin food and culture from 21 countries plus the Caribbean,” said MASC founder Marco Shalma, who said he hopes the event will eventually become a monthly series.

“Dyckman is really a hub of the center of the Latin community,” Shalma said.

Shalma is not Latino or Hispanic himself, but said the night market is about celebrating the wide range of meal options and how certain ingredients – such as a maize dough, also known as masa – connect the countries.

“This is the opportunity that we saw to bring it all to one place and to celebrate the connection,” Shalma said. “Certain ingredients that are being used by different nations, but in a similar vein.”

Attendees can expect to find pupusas, chicharron, tacos, and everything in between. The Night Market goes down from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. between Dyckman Plaza and Inwood Park and is expected to have 40 vendors on hand so y’all already know there will be something for everybody. Might have to go on a 24-hour fast if you plan on hitting this event up because we guarantee you’ll be leaving a few pounds heavier by the end of the night.

Will you be going to the Late Night Latin Market this Friday night? Let us know in the comments section below.

It Was Fun While It Lasted: Elon Musk Suggests At Charging X Users A Fee To Use His Mediocre Platform

Elon Musk Hints At Users Having To Pay Fee To Use X/Twitter

Source: Anadolu Agency / Getty / Elon Musk

Elon Musk is not done making X (formerly known as Twitter) one of the worst social media experiences ever.

“I can’t believe this app is free” is starting to look like a phrase that has run its course on X.

Spotted on Variety, the Tesla Chief and current owner of X, Elon Musk, claims he wants to charge X/Twitter users a fee to use the platform.

His excuse is that it’s the only way to combat the bots plaguing the platform.

Per Variety:

Musk brought up the idea of charging all users of X/Twitter during a wide-ranging conversation focused on AI that featured Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday. “We’re moving to having a small monthly payment for use of the X system,” Musk told Netanyahu, claiming that “it’s the only way I can think of to combat vast armies of bots.” His comments were initially reported by Bloomberg’s Dave Lee.

As for the price, Musk did not share an exact dollar amount, noting that “a few dollars or something” would stop the creation of bot accounts. Musk also claims X has 550 million monthly active users, and they are sharing between 100-200 million posts daily on the social network, the website also reports.

X Is Still Bleeding Cash

According to Platformer, charging users to use X is not new, and he has been toying with it for some time. Before he begrudgingly bought it, Twitter was not a profitable business, and since his check cleared, ad sales, something the platform depended on tremendously, have plunged 50%.

We guess those Cheech and Chong gummy ads won’t be enough to keep X alive.

As you can imagine, X users are not feeling the news and are once again looking for another app where they take dating debates, sports hot takes, and any other forms of entertainment they came to X/Twitter exclusively for.

You can see those reactions in the gallery below.

Nick Lachey Opens Up About Tech Issues During Controversial ‘Love Is Blind’ Reunion Special

It’s been five months since Netflix aired the Love Is Blind season 4 reunion, which was riddled with a livestreaming snafu as well as controversy surrounding hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey’s questions towards the contestants.

Nick Lachey joined his brother and 98 Degrees bandmate, Drew Lachey, on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy recently, where the star opened up about what happened at the reunion, which ended up being delayed 16 hours after some tech issues. “I appreciate what you said after the fact because I think very few people understand like you do what all goes into that and what’s involved,” Nick told Andy Cohen, who is no stranger to reunion specials himself. After the Love Is Blind special in the spring, Cohen said that livestreaming the event was a “bad idea,” given that “there is a lot of grist to go through before you get to the prime beef, and there is a reason they’re edited down.”

Nick added, “To your point, a reunion, there’s so many things you want to flush out, so many things you want to get to and to try to do that in a timetable that’s finite is not the way to go.”

Following the reunion, Nick and Vanessa received largely negative comments online for asking contestants “unsettling” questions, some of which included Vanessa delving into personal topics like the couples’ reproductive plans for the future. “You’re cutting people off,” Nick told Cohen. “In your ear you’re getting, ‘We’ve got to go, move on!’ So you’re trying to let people flush out their stories and get things off their chest and you’re doing it while you’re being rushed.”

Love Is Blind season 5 heads to Netflix on Friday (Sept. 22). Watch Cohen’s full interview with the Lachey brothers below.
