Lewis Capaldi, The Game, Gabby Barrett, Green Day & More: What’s Your Favorite New Music Release of the Week? Vote!

With 2023 officially in the books, the new year will soon see holiday songs disappear from the Billboard charts to make way for new music — and the first new music Friday of 2024. This week’s offerings includes a diverse mix of tracks from Scottish crooner Lewis Capaldi, The Game, Gabby Barrett and more to kick off the first week of the year.

Capaldi is in balladry mode on new single “Strangers,” which sees him stepping back into the familiar territory of his breakthrough hit single, “Someone You Loved.” The crooner’s signature tone, tinged with heartache, shines on the track as he sings of his departed lover. The track also pulls double duty and reignites his ongoing feud with Liam and Noel Gallagher, as it mentions him and the object of his affection once bonding over a mutual dislike of Oasis’ “Wonderwall” (“You say you hate this song… my dear, you’re not the only one”).

The Game ushered in the new year with the nine-track project Paisley Dreams, a collaboration with Big Hit, which finds Game coolly rapping over smart and structured production. The set follows last year’s The Truth Is in My Eyes, Big Hit’s first album after spending much of his adult life in prison.

Despite hailing from Pennsylvania, Barrett shows her love for the Lone Star State — a metaphor for the man she loves — in new single “You’re My Texas.” The country star passionately sings, “My home away from home/ You’re blue bonnets growin’ wild/ Boy, no matter where I roam/ You’re my Nacogdoches sky,” positioning it for engagement songs, wedding playlists and more.

The Last Dinner Party, Green Day and Liam Gallagher & John Squire also released new material this week, but which was your favorite? Vote in our poll below.

George Birge on the Radio Surge of His Hit “Mind on You” — And Nearly Giving the Song Away to Jason Aldean

Over the past year, Texas native George Birge has steadily ascended Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, earning a top 5 hit with his debut single “Mind on You.” The song’s success represents a full-circle moment, given that the song was previously on hold for Jason Aldean.

“This has probably been the wildest 12 months or so of my life,” Birge tells Billboard during an interview in Nashville. He wrote “Mind on You” in 2020 with Jaron Boyer, Michael Tyler and Colt Ford. At the time, Birge, previously half of country duo Waterloo Revival, was amid a career shift.

“I had been chasing the artist dream, and I had gotten close, had some failures to launch,” he recalls. “I asked out of a previous deal and there was an eight-month period where I was writing songs for other artists. We pitched ‘Mind on You’ to Jason, who’s a huge influence on me musically, and we got an email back, saying, ‘Jason wants it for his new record.’ He was by far the biggest artist to want one of my songs. I thought that was going to be the life-changer for me.”

In 2021, Birge began releasing snippets of music on TikTok. Birge happened upon a video from TikToker Erynn Chambers, which used the phrase “Beer, beer, truck, truck, girls in tight jeans” to lampoon the tropes used in many country songs. Birge based the chorus of his song “Beer Beer, Truck Truck” on the viral video (Chambers is credited as a co-writer). The song earned more than 5 million Spotify streams, and in the process, introduced Birge as a solo artist.

Birge parlayed the streaming surge into a record deal, signing with RECORDS Nashville in 2021. When RECORDS CEO Barry Weiss heard “Mind on You,” he made a pivotal phone call to Birge.

“He said, ‘We can’t wait to work with you, but that song you’re giving to Jason Aldean, that’s going to be your debut single. You need to ask for it back,’” Birge recalls. “That was a scary prospect. At the time, I was struggling to launch my career, barely scraping by monetarily, and I decided not to let one of the biggest artists in Nashville cut my song — which would have guaranteed me some money. Instead, I bet on myself and it was a one-in-a-million long shot.”

In 2024, the WME-repped Birge will tour with fellow Texas artist Parker McCollum. Below, Billboard’s January Country Rookie of the Month discusses his musical beginnings, the success of “Mind on You,” and the career wisdom he’s gleaned along the way.

You recently released a remixed version of “Mind on You” featuring Charlieonnafriday and Kidd G. How did they come to be on the track?

I wanted to do a remix to give it the biggest pop it can possibly get when it’s at max visibility. I had seen an interview with Charlieonnafriday where he said he was new to country music but liked it. I had been a fan of his, so I sent him a note to ask if he would be on the song. Kidd G has one of the most authentic vocals of anybody I know. I sent it to Charlie and Kidd on the same day, hoping one of them would say yes. They both said “yes” in like 10 minutes, so we had both jump on the song.

Did you give them any guidance on their verses?

We didn’t give them any direction on their verses; we let them write what they wanted to write. Each artist looked at the song through a different lens. I wrote the song about my wife and how I feel about her. Charlieonnafriday wrote about a past love interest, where they still think about each other. Kidd G wrote about a full-on breakup, where he’s missing her. It was cool to see how “Mind on You” could translate to different people’s perspective and have us flip the hook on all three different verses.

Have you spoken with Jason Aldean since releasing “Mind on You”?

When I asked for the song back, he was unbelievably kind and gracious, but I never met him in person. About two months ago, we were both at a party and some of our mutual friends introduced us. He was like, “I’ve been watching the song and I’ve been rooting for you.” To have him say that was so gratifying.

He also filled me in on some parallels of what I’m doing and how he started his career — he told me about a failed record deal when he got started and later how one song changed his life and how at the time he had his first hit, [Aldean’s label home] Broken Bow Records was kind of a startup label. He talked about finding his lane, building a brand and scaling from clubs up to arenas and amphitheaters. I left that conversation feeling 10 feet tall, because it was so inspiring. I’m very thankful for the time I got to spend talking with him.

You were previously part of the duo Waterloo Revival. How do you think that experience prepared you for where you are now in your career?

I’m thankful for every second and learned more than I ever have during that time. We started as a bar band in Austin, Texas. I was working a desk job for a real estate company, but music was my passion. We started getting traction and sold out the Rattle Inn, a 300-400 person room, every time we would play there. Some Nashville industry folks flew down and before I knew it, I had a management deal, a record deal. It forced me to figure out who I want to be, what I wanted to say, how to put on a live show—because there’s a huge difference between standing behind a microphone in a club for 90 minutes and going on tour with Toby Keith, entertaining 30,000 people in an amphitheater.

What other lessons have you learned along the way?

In 2020, when I ended up asking out of that record deal, the only way I was going to do an artist project was if I was making the music that I wanted to make. RECORDS said they wanted to invest in giving me the best opportunity to be who I wanted to be as an artist, and they’ve been true to that. I feel like “Mind on You” is the first time I’ve gotten to be true to myself, storytelling-wise and sonically. Country fans are good at sniffing out what’s authentic and what’s manufactured. It’s gratifying to get to be myself and have it become the first thing that’s also ever taken off.

When did you find your passion for music?

My mom and dad weren’t musicians, but they loved music. My dad’s truck probably is where I fell in love with country music, listening to the radio. With it being Austin, there’s live music around all the time. I started writing songs in middle school. My freshman year of high school, I had started a band and we would go play on Sixth Street in downtown Austin. At the time, I thought everywhere was like that, playing on Sixth Street as a 14-year-old with “Xs” on your hand [for being underage] and having your friends coming out to shows.

The other cool thing about Austin was everybody had a garage band or music project, but nobody was in a cover band. We all wrote our own songs. I feel like that was the biggest head start my hometown gave me when I moved to Nashville: I had already had a foundation in how to write songs. Being in Nashville, with the best songwriters in the world, I’ve learned something new every day — but I at least felt like I could hang with other songwriters when I moved here.

What was the first concert you ever saw?

Bryan White and LeAnn Rimes at the Frank Erwin Center [in Austin]. She was fresh off [her breakthrough hit] ‘Blue,’ so that was cool.

Who would be your dream collaborator?

Gary Allan has had a huge influence on me. He’s got a lot of that grit and dark, smoky sound that I’ve tried to make my own.

You released your full-length album, George Birge: Mind on You, in 2023. What is next for you?

There’s a song that I just wrote called “Cowboy Songs” will come out as my next single. We started playing that live, and I’ve never seen a song react with fans like that one has.

You will be featured as part of Country Radio Seminar’s New Faces of Country Music Show in 2024, alongside Megan Moroney, Conner Smith, Dillon Carmichael and Corey Kent. What does that mean to you?

My friends at country radio, and at streaming, have changed my life this year. To be considered part of this class, with these artists, I feel so lucky — and to look at other artists and how they have gone from New Faces to selling out arenas and amphitheaters, it’s inspiring.

How Xavi Went ‘From Zero’ to No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs With ‘La Diabla’ — Without a Collaboration

The first No. 1 of 2024 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart belongs to 19-year-old Mexican-American artist Xavi, whose “La Diabla” (“The She-Devil”) is a romantic tumbado about a bad boy romancing a bad girl to the tune of a crunchy requinto guitar. Out on Interscope, the song, which rose from No. 4 to No. 1 post-Christmas, is Xavi’s first No. 1 on any Billboard chart. It also topped Spotify’s Global Top 50, a first for a solo regional Mexican act.

Xavi (short for Joshua Xavier Gutiérrez) also scored his fourth week atop Billboard’s Latin Songwriters chart on the strength of “La Diabla,” his previous single “La víctima” (which rose from No. 7 to No. 5 on Hot Latin Songs this week), “Poco a Poco” with Dareyes De La Sierra (at No. 18) and “Modo DND” with Tony Aguirre (at No. 21).

It’s quite a performance for the relatively unknown singer-songwriter from Arizona, who was signed to Interscope two years ago when he was still in the early TikTok stage, with no viral hit to his name.

“We have great respect for the indie labels, but it’s not like he was going viral and we signed him,” says Manny Prado, vp of marketing and A&R for Interscope. “I think it’s a big success for a major label that we were able to get an artist from zero to the global charts, and hopefully next he’ll become a global superstar.”

Prado, who spent two decades with Sony U.S. Latin, most recently as head of West Coast operations, moved to Interscope in August and took over a blooming regional Mexican roster that also includes Gabito Ballesteros and Iván Cornejo. While he works with all genres of Latin music in his new position, as a Mexican-American, the rise of regional Mexican music has been particularly gratifying, he says. Regional Mexican music — the broad umbrella term given to dozens of subgenres like banda, norteño, corridos and sierreño — has always been one of the foundations of Latin music’s success, both in the United States and Mexico. But it only entered the global consciousness — and the Hot 100 — in the past two years.

Now, Xavi is part of a new generation of very young Regional Mexican artists whose music is currently the dominant Latin presence on the Hot 100 and the global Latin charts overall. But, unlike most rising stars, who first enter the upper echelons of the charts aided by collaborations and big-name partnerships, Xavi has done so alone. Both “La Diabla” and “La víctima,” his two big hits, are solo efforts by design. Since signing him, Interscope has focused on developing both his style and his songwriting. His more romantic approach — Xavi has yet to enter “bélico,” or drug-related songwriting terrain — coupled with a baby face and a vibrant, acoustic sound, has given him broad appeal. And Interscope’s focus on social amplification has taken his music even further.

In recognition of Xavi’s Hot Latin Songs chart feat, Prado is Billboard’s Executive of the Week. Below, he talks about the rise of Regional Mexican with a younger generation, why they decided not to make “La Diabla” a duet, how they plan to broaden Xavi’s reach beyond the Latin audience and more.

You’re based in Los Angeles but report to Nir Seroussi, who runs Interscope’s Miami office, with a growing Latin roster. How important is Mexican music within that?

Here at Interscope, we don’t have an “Interscope rock” or an “Interscope country,” and we don’t have a division we call Latin or Mexican. What we do is we assemble a specific team depending on the artist, and I’m in charge of all the “Miami” roster, [including] Kali Uchis and Karol G. Regional Mexican has grown exponentially. We already had Xavi when I came in, as well as Iván Cornejo and Marca Registrada [among many others]. And the common theme is they’re all young. The majority are Mexican-American, which I love, born in the United States, just like me. My parents are Mexican immigrants, so for me, it’s an honor to work with these types of artists that I have so much in common with. It’s all about respecting each individual artist, having the deepest respect for their roots and giving them the service they want. Sometimes we work with our general-market company. We don’t have borders.

Regional Mexican music has always been a backbone of Latin music but has never been this global. Why do you think it’s having such a moment right now?

They’re Gen Z-ers, and I think that’s the difference. For example, I was at Amoeba Music, and never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I’d see Natanael Cano and Gabito Ballesteros t-shirts. That’s the beauty of today that has never happened: The younger generation is growing up with these artists. When I was growing up it was all traditional music, there was nothing really young. Now it’s cool to like Mexican; the way they dress, the way they talk, they’re very relatable. And you can be an artist from Mexico and have the same things.

Within this big crop of acts, what makes Xavi stand out?

When Nir and the team first met Xavi, they immediately recognized a genuine artist in the traditional sense: a phenomenal songwriter who can sing and is also relatable. In a sea of artists lacking these qualities, Xavi stood out. People are growing weary of the superficial, and they crave authenticity — the real deal. And Xavi is the real deal. We have a daily sentiment report that we’re very much obsessed with.

A sentiment report? Can you explain?

We go into social media and look at every little comment. For example, if there’s a post on TikTok, we’ll see what the general sentiment is. This team is amazing. What sets Xavi apart by just looking at that report and talking to people is his mannerisms, his style, he’s being compared to the biggest artists on the planet. People like him. Tiene angel.

You said that social media has played a huge role in Xavi’s rise. Can you point to some examples in which Interscope mined that?

Our digital marketing team prioritized reaching out to genre-specific music reviewers to encourage them to discuss Xavi. We presented them with the project, and they consistently came back with extremely positive comments. Additionally, we organically documented special moments in the studio, video shoots and interviews, keeping Xavi’s audience captivated and well-informed. It wasn’t easy. A lot of people said, “Who is that kid?” The music also changed and he found his direction.

How did the music change?

He just found his style. It became like tumbadito romántico. Before it was a lot more romantic, a little poppier. Now he has more of a Mexican edge in the music. Another thing is, “La Diabla” talks about women in a very positive light. We’re seeing the female population really embrace it. In the genre, it’s not a thing to write about women in a positive light.

I’m also struck by the fact that his two biggest hits are solo tracks instead of collabs. Was this a deliberate decision?

Yes, and we’re very proud of it. He actually made history as the only solo Mexican artist to hit No. 1 on the Spotify chart. We wanted to be different and we felt that Xavi really had the talent, that distinctive voice to accomplish that goal. When we saw “La víctima” take off like it did, and then we had “La Diabla,” we said, “Let’s keep going.” We did think about making it a duet and we’ve had various artists approach [us], but ultimately the decision was, we’re going alone. We felt we had so much momentum that we thought we shouldn’t wait, even though the holidays were coming.

How did you promote the track?

We had a Posada at Interscope studios before the holidays, around December 14. It’s for sure the first regional Mexican event done at the historic Interscope studios in L.A., and we invited DSPs, influencers, traditional media, and that’s how we kicked off the single. And we amplified everything through that event. The goal was to surpass “La víctima.” Honestly, the goal was not a global No. 1.

I know Xavi was signed two years ago, and shortly after, he was in a big car accident that required hospitalization, extensive plastic surgery and which sidelined him for a bit. How did that affect his development? Was there a tipping point?

I don’t think this happened overnight. And we’ve always been working on music since he got signed, and that’s what it’s all about: A&R and creating awareness. He really wasn’t doing media because he was going through a moment there with the accident. But he came out of it and he wanted to give it his all. Everything clicked all at once, even though it was two years in the making. But I want to stress: It wasn’t overnight. We have four songs now on the global charts. And that’s rare nowadays. We have great respect for the indie labels but it’s not like he was going viral and we signed him. Interscope came across a video, they shared it with Nir, Nir decided to sign him. I think it’s a big success for a major label that we were able to get an artist from zero to getting on the global charts, and hopefully, next he’ll become a global superstar. Really rare nowadays.

Are there any specific examples of how the Latin team collaborated with Interscope’s general-market departments on “La Diabla”?

Once the record gained traction, we collaborated with Gary Kelly‘s team (Interscope’s GM/chief revenue officer) to expand its reach beyond Latin playlisting, successfully securing a spot on Spotify’s Today’s Top Hits. All the DSPs have been very supportive, but it hasn’t been automatic. We are also closely working with Cara Donatto (executive vp/head of media) and Xavier Ramos (executive vp of pop & rock marketing) and their respective teams on general-market media outreach and marketing initiatives.

What’s next for Xavi?

He recently signed with WME and we’re working hand in hand with them and working on a tour. He recently signed a publishing deal with Universal Latin. We don’t have plans for an album yet, so we will keep releasing singles. And we’re releasing the video for “Sin Pagar la Renta,” which never had a video when it was originally released last year. That’s also unusual.

N.W.A, Gladys Knight, & More To Receive 2024 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Awards

It’s been a long time coming. N.W.A, Gladys Knight, and others will receive flowers from The Recording Academy.

Spotted on Variety, the Rap group that pioneered Gangsta Rap, iconic R&B singer, Disco queen Donna Summers, Tammy Wynette, and legendary Gospel group Clark Sisters will receive the 2024 Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Awards at this year’s Special Merit Awards ceremony.

Other notable names being honored included Hip-Hop pioneer DJ Kool Herc, Linda Ronstadt/ James Taylor, producer/manager Peter Asher, veteran attorney, and longtime Grammy Academy executive Joel Katz, who will receive the Trustee Award.

Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, spoke on this year’s honorees, adding, “The Academy is honored to pay tribute to this year’s Special Merit Award recipients — a remarkable group of creators and industry professionals whose impact resonates with generations worldwide. Their contributions to music span genres, backgrounds, and crafts, reflecting the rich diversity that fuels our creative community. We look forward to honoring these music industry trailblazers next month as part of our week-long celebration leading up to Music’s Biggest Night.”

It’s About Time N.W.A Gets Their Flowers From The Recording Academy

For N.W.A, it’s about time the rap stable is getting some recognition. Variety shared the Academy’s explanation for the “Straight Outta Compton crew behind honored.

“N.W.A was a rap group from the Compton district in Los Angeles who are credited by many with inventing gangsta rap. The group, consisting of Eazy-E^, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, DJ Yella, and MC-Ren, developed a new sound, which brought in many of the loud, extreme sonic innovations of Public Enemy while adopting a self-consciously violent and dangerous lyrical stance. In 1988, N.W.A released their album, Straight Outta Compton, a brutally intense record that became an underground hit without any support from radio or MTV. This negative attention worked in their favor as it brought the album to multiplatinum status. Although the group was short-lived, gangsta rap established itself as the most popular form of hip-hop during the mid-1990s.”

The Recording Academy’s Special Merit Awards Ceremony goes down on Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles.

Patrick Stewart Hints At Professor X’s Return To The MCU

HipHopWired Featured Video

With much hype surrounding the eventual introduction of the X-Men into the now struggling Marvel Cinematic Universe and what role they’ll play in the forthcoming Avengers: Secret Wars film, many assumed that Patrick Stewart’s Professor X wouldn’t be a part of the MCU’s future due to his death in Doctor Strange 2.

Well, that may not be the case. During an interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Patrick Stewart spoke about Professor X’s fate in the Marvel Universe. He left everyone with a glimmer of hope that we’d once again see arguably the most powerful mutant in the world once again roll alongside the X-Men.

Though we’ve seen Professor X take a few fatalities over the decades in films such as X-Men: The Last Stand and more recently, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Patrick Stewart told Horowitz that he has “every confidence” in the notion that Professor X is “still around” somewhere in the MCU. In saying that alone, one has to figure that he’s had talks with Marvel Studios to reprise his role as Charles Xavier at some point in the future.

Continuing to talk about his cameo in Doctor Strange, Stewart also admitted that he found it to be “frustrating and disappointing” as the film was shot during the COVID pandemic and everything was filmed with everyone else’s safety in mind. “I was alone. I think that the big scene, each one of the leading actors had the same experience. They were shot on their own.”

Hopefully we’ll see Professor X alongside Wolverine, Spider-Man and other MCU stars alongside each other in a future project at some point. Lord knows the MCU can use that kind of boost to put butts in seats at the movie theaters like they used to in their heyday.

Check out Patrick Stewart talk about his experience on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness below, and let us know if you’d like to see him as Professor X one more time (or more) in the comments section below.

Jonathan Majors & His Flared Jeans Sat Down For An Interview With ‘ABC News Live,’ X Users Are Ready For The Mess

Jonathan Majors First Interview Coming Next Week, X Users React

Source: YUKI IWAMURA / Getty / Jonathan Majors

2024 is starting with a bang. First, Katt Williams’ explosive Club Shay Shay interview, now Jonathan Majors, is looking to be the talk of X, formerly Twitter user’s timelines.

After being found guilty last month of assault and harassment of ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari and officially fumbling the Marvel Studios bag after they fired the actor on his day off, Majors sat down with ABC News Live’s Linsey Davis for an interview.

Deadline reports that the interview will be across ABC News programming, which also happens to be the sister division to Marvel Studios.

Per Deadline:

ABC News will be giving the interview a lot of play. It will premiere on Good Morning America on Monday, and will air across other network platforms including GMA3: What You Need To Know. An extended version will stream on ABC News Live’s Prime with Linsey Davis that evening, and ABC News Studios’ IMPACT x Nightline will stream a half hour special with more from the interview. That will be posted on Hulu starting on Jan. 11.

Coming off the insane sugar high that the Katt Williams “interview” with Shannon Sharpe, where he had plenty to say about prominent Black comedians and other topics, including the Majors situation, X users are salivating at the nuggets that will likely come from Majors’ sitdown with Davis.

Jonathan Majors’ Pants Are Already Stealing The Show

The jokes are already flying, specifically about the actor’s wardrobe choice, specifically his jeans, for his first interview since the trial’s verdict and losing his job as Kang The Conqueror.

We have no idea what is coming, but if it’s anywhere near the foolery that was Gayle King’s interview with disgraced crooner and sexual deviant R. Kelly, it’s going to be one hell of a day, maybe a week on social media.

You can see more reactions to Jonathan Majors’ upcoming interview and other jokes in the gallery below.

People Taking Penitentiary Chances For Stanley Quencher Cups To Start 2024

Look out Nike, there’s a new hot commodity out on the reselling market and it isn’t coming from a competitor in the sports attire arena.

Over the past week and change, Stanley Cups (not to be confused with the NHL Stanley Cup) have become the hottest accessory out on the streets (or the burbs depending on how you view things) and people are paying big bucks on the secondary market to own one. Things are getting so crazy that according TMZ a limited edition Stanley Quencher Starbucks cup had people going above and beyond the call of duty to get their hands on one to the point that breaking the law became an option for some.

TMZ reports:

It’s pretty wild, and a sign of the times … the pink cups retail for $49.95 at Starbucks branches inside Targets, and folks who’ve been able to snag them are turning around, and hawking them online for hundreds of dollars.

The resellers are working hard for that big payday, though … the only way to get the cups seems to be camping outside Target for hours, or fighting through massive crowds in scenes straight out of Black Friday.

Other people are going to even greater lengths to try and cash in — like the guy who hopped a counter and tried, unsuccessfully, to steal a whole box of the pink goodies.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: it isn’t that serious!

How the hype built to this point behind some sipping cups is beyond us, but it is now a thing in 2024 as the $50 cups are going for up to $300 online. All that so people can take to Instagram and TikTok to show off how they’re drinking their beverages from a popular cup.

How long before Nike collaborates with Stanley Cup for a limited edition sneaker? All hell would break loose for those.

What do y’all think about the hype behind these Stanley Cups? Sound off in the comments section below.

Kesha Promises Fans New Music Is ‘Coming Soon!’ in 2024

New year, new Kesha — literally. On Thursday (Jan. 4), the pop star stepped out for a walk and gave fans an update on when they can expect new music.

“New music coming soon!” the 36-year-old wrote on a cardboard box, which she was seen holding in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven in Los Angeles. The “TiK ToK” singer smiled for paparazzi while wearing a casual t-shirt and pair of sweatpants, accessorizing that with a cowboy hat and yellow-tinted sunglasses. New music would mark a follow up to Kesha’s latest album, Gag Order; the experimental-leaning project, released in May, peaked at No. 168 on the Billboard 200.

The announcement comes six months after Kesha settled her nine-year lawsuit with Dr. Luke, his record label, Kemosabe, RCA Records and Vector Management. Following the settlement, the pop star took to Instagram to thank her devoted fans for the support they’ve provided her amid the legal battle.

“I am humbled and in awe of the support and love y’all have given me,” she captioned a June 27 post of herself performing onstage, with fans in the crowd holding up hearts with their hands. “You have held me and carried me through the past 9 years. I am so full of light and excitement for the beautiful things to come, for shows to play, and art to make to share with you all.”

In a December update to her fans via TikTok, Kesha shared a video of her running into the ocean with the caption, “I haven’t felt this free since I was 18,” which spawned fans wishing her the best in the comments section on the app.
