It’s been ages since Eddie Murphy has blessed his fans with his foul-mouthed, fan-favorite detective. Axel Foley in a Beverly Hills Cop film. But after almost a cool 30 years, the franchise is set to return with a fourth installment and sho’nuff, the iconic comedian will be returning as the hilarious character.

According to Deadline, Beverly Hills Cop 4 has officially gone into production and Netflix has shared the first images from the set of the film and it features Eddie Murphy in Axel Foley’s classic varsity jacket and jeans fit that he sported in the first few films. Debuting as Axel Foley in Beverly Hills Cop in 1984, Eddie Murphy’s movie career skyrocketed after having made a name for himself on Saturday Night Live and his classic stand-up film, Delirious.

The success of the first film led to two more sequels before the character was retired as Eddie moved on to other films. Now that the man has been slowly reintegrating himself on the movie scene, the legendary comedian is set to resurrect the beloved franchise almost 30 years after it kicked off and we’re all here for it.
Deadline reports:
Mark Molloy directs the sequel, which also stars Kevin Bacon, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Taylour Paige, along with Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul Reiser and Bronson Pinchot reprising their characters from previous installments.
Will Beall penned the script. Murphy also produces, along with Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman of Jerry Bruckheimer Films. Charisse Hewitt-Webster and Ray Angelic will exec produce the new movie. Melissa Reid of Jerry Bruckheimer Films will co-produce.
The franchise moved from Paramount to Netflix in the winter of 2019 and follows the adventures of Detroit cop Foley, who first appeared in the 1984 smash hit that followed him to Beverly Hills to solve the murder of a friend. The film became one of the year’s biggest hits and solidified Murphy’s movie-star status. It was followed by two sequels, in 1987 and 1994. The first film grossed $234 million at the U.S. box office, making it the highest-grossing domestic release of 1984, and received an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay in 1985.
We. Can’t. Wait.
Beverly Hills Cop 4 is set to hit Netflix sometime in 2024 but don’t be surprised if it drops on December 5, 2024 which would be exactly 30 years after the original hit theaters.

Kevin Hart is known for being one of the biggest comedic actors in Hollywood today, but the man has dabbled in action/comedy films for a while now and his latest project seems to fall in that very same vein.

Next year the pint-sized superstar will be starring in Netflix’s new film Lift as Cyrus Whitaker, the leader of a underground criminal syndicate who’ve been tasked by authorities to pull off the heist of the century in order to avoid facing multiple criminal charges. Rounding up his team, Whitaker (Hart) fills them in on the plan which is to lift $500 million in gold bars from an airplane while it’s 40,000 feet in the air.

One can’t even say it’s “easier said than done” as just saying it sounds impossible, but that’s the mission and failure to comply means hard time for Cyrus and his team who are known for money laundering, identity fraud and transportation of stolen property. Needless to say they’ll be rolling the dice in order to keep their freedom.
Giving off some real Fast and Furious vibes, Lift seems like it will be quite the comedic joy ride accompanied with action sequences for guys and girls who like guy movies.
Check out the trailer to Lift below and let us know if you’ll be checking for it when it hits Netflix on January 12 in the comment section below.

Netflix is currently airing the reggaetón-inspired series Neon, a joint creation of Shea Serrano and Max Searle that stars Tyler Dean Flores as Santi, an aspiring reggaetón artist who moves to Miami to chase his dreams.

A series about ambitions, the music industry, loyalty and overcoming fears, among other life lessons, the eight-episode comedy series follows Santi; his sister, who’s also his personal manager; and his best friend, who’s also his creative and marketing director, on their clueless journey to landing a record deal — all while they take advantage of the momentum Santi built with his viral hit “Exagerao.”

The track was produced in the real world by Latin hitmaker Tainy, who also serves as one of the executive music producers on the show, along with Lex Borrero and Ivan Rodriguez from Ntertain and Neon16.

Created for the U.S.-born Latin artist (like Santi), the Puerto Rican producer said in a statement that “the production bangs and feels like a club song, but it also connects with the character culturally. The slang, the delivery, his lover-boy persona, even the choices on his pronunciation being more like a second-generation Latino in the U.S. In subtle ways every line tells you about Santi.”

Additionally, a wave of Latin music stars, such as Daddy Yankee and Jhayco, have had acting cameos in the series. (See the full list below.)

Neon’s executive production team consists of Serrano and Searle, along with an outstanding list of collaborators, including Scooter Braun, James Shin and Scott Manson of SB Projects, Anne Clements and Daddy Yankee. Kyle Vinuya and Demi Adejuyigbe serve as co-executive producers, and Jordan Mendoza serves as consulting producer.

The first episode of Neon was previewed at the 2023 Billboard Latin Music Week ahead of its Oct. 19 premiere to a select group of viewers.

Growing body hair is an inevitable part of puberty. Usually, though, the hair doesn’t start singing — but that’s where Lin-Manuel Miranda comes in. The Hamilton creator’s latest composition is an all-Spanish tune about waiting for pubic hairs to grow for season seven of Netflix‘s Big Mouth, which premieres Friday (Oct. 20). Billboard learned that […]

Finally, there is some Grand Theft Auto news; unfortunately, it has nothing to do with GTA 6.
According to a Wall Street Journal report, Netflix Games is trying hard to secure a Grand Theft Auto game on its service in an attempt to bolster its lineup of original games after acquiring several development studios.

The WSJ reports that Netflix Games “discussed plans” to drop a Grand Theft Auto game on its service by securing a licensing deal with Rockstar Games parent company, Take-Two Interactive.

What would that game look like? That remains to be seen, but according to IGN, it will likely be a mobile title.
Per IGN:
As things now stand, any GTA spin-off that ended up on Netflix would inevitably be a mobile game, as currently the only way to play Netflix’s portfolio is through its mobile app. The report suggests that Netflix hopes to eventually expand its library to include games that can be streamed from TV or PC.
According to one analyst speaking to the WSJ, Netflix has spent about $1 billion on games so far. And it seems to be aiming to hire more game executives to oversee a foray into AAA titles. But there’s currently no good way to tell exactly how well that investment is paying off for the company, or whether it ever will.
Netflix Games Is A Pure Struggle
It’s clear Netflix is looking for a win for its Netflix Games service. Since launching in 2022, the service has yet to take off. IGN reports that 20 games on the service have been downloaded 70.5 million times.
That’s a drop in the bucket compared to other mobile game downloads. Apptopia claims only 1% of Netflix subscribers enjoy Netflix Games daily.
We shall see if Netflix Games can land its golden goose.

Along with raising subscription prices, Netflix is going to open physical retail stores to get more of your money.
Bloomberg reports that the insanely popular movie-streaming giant is gearing up to unleash physical brick-and-mortar locations.
Before going completely digital, Netflix once sent actual DVDs to your home, and now the company hopes subscribers love their original content enough that they want to enjoy curated experiences and buy merchandise based on them.

According to the Bloomberg report, there will be numerous locations across the country, and it will be called Netflix House, where you can also enjoy meals and experiences based on hit shows like Squid Games.
Per HYPEBEAST:

In these stores, Netflix plans to sell merchandise based on some if the platform’s biggest shows. On top of broad range of merch selection, Netflix House will offer guests a curated dining experience as well as live events. For instance, in the two initial locations, guests will be able to experience an obstacle course based on Squid Game. As for the dining experience, the in-house restaurant is slated to serve up cuisines and drinks from the streamer’s many unscripted food-based reality shows. The menu will feature a wide range of options from fast casual to high-end dining. Netflix House also boasts a rotation of art installation based on hit shows, along with live performances for fans.
The streaming giant has yet to confirm the location of the first Netflix House, but according to Bloomberg, the company plans on opening it in 2025.
This will not be the first time Netflix has used physical locations to tie in with its original properties. They have done numerous activations for Stranger Things and other shows like Narcos.

Tudum. That’s the sound of Netflix coming to take more money from your bank accounts.
According to a Wall Street Journal report, Netflix plans to hit its subscribers with another price hike in a “few months.”
Per WSJ’s reporting, the movie streaming giant will raise prices in “several markets globally,” and subscribers in Canada and the United States will have the honor of paying the new subscription price first.

There are no details on how much subscribers will have to pay when the price hike hits, and Netflix hasn’t said anything since the WSJ’s reporting.
The latest news comes just a year after Netflix raised the subscription price for all its plans. The ad-free Standard tier rose to $15.49 / month and the Premium plan to $19.99 / month.
For those looking for a break, Netflix finally launched its long-rumored $6.99 ad-supported plan while chucking its $ 9.99-a-month ad-free basic plan.
The price hike could be the latest controversial decision for Netflix after it cracked down on password sharing and charging subscribers an additional $7.99 monthly if they share their account with friends.
Netflix Prices Hike Could Be In Response To The Strikes
It also should be no surprise that this price hike announcement comes on the heels of the WGA ending their strike and actors possibly returning to work soon.
Netflix could be waiting to hit its subscribers with the bad news when Hollywood is fully back to work.
Speaking of the strike, in the deal the WGA happily agreed to, streamers like Netflix, Disney Plus, and Hulu will now have to share information with writers on how well their content is performing.
The new deal will also see writers get a “minimum compensation increase of 18 percent for high-budget films, along with a 26 percent increase in residuals,” per The Verge’s reporting.
While the streamers are seemingly responding to having to pay writers and actors their fair share by increasing subscription prices, the WGA points out that the new contract’s cost will only account for “0.2 percent of Netflix’s annual revenue.”
If and when Netflix finally confirms the price hike, it will join the likes of Disney Plus, whose subscribers are prepping for a price hike at the end of the month.

Ever since they began dating in 1997, former soccer great David Beckham and wife Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham have been under the red-hot tabloid spotlight. And never was the scrutiny more intense, and more potentially damaging to their relationship, than during the footballer’s rocky four-year tenure with the Real Madrid football club that began in 2003.
The former Spice Girls member reveals just how taxing that time was in the final episode of the new four-part Netflix documentary series Beckham, which both charts the English legend’s rise to fame during a legendary two-decade career, as well as the rocky times in his high-profile marriage to the former pop star/model.

“This was a time when anything he touched turned to gold. I remember saying, ‘You would love to get in the bath, but you can’t because every time you go to get in the bath the bloody water parts and you just walk on straight through,’” Victoria says at one point of the Messiah-like status her model-handsome husband enjoyed in the early 2000s in the series that dropped on Wednesday (Oct. 4).

Cut to a Spanish reporter asking David, “‘Do you think you’re losing out a lot because you’re married? All these women who love you, throw their [underwear] at you?,’” while an English chat show hosts asks the equally pulchritudinous singer — and then mother of their two eldest children — if she was concerned about all the women “throwing” themselves at her husband.

Dogged by allegations of David’s infidelity in the British tabloids, David says, “there was some horrible stories that were difficult to deal with” after his transfer, adding that it was the first time the couple had been put under that kind of pressure in their marriage. When the interviewer asks Victoria if that was the hardest time in their marriage, she swiftly responds, “100%. It was the hardest period for us because it felt like the world was against us.”

Worse still, she adds, it felt like “we were against each other if I’m being completely honest.” Until the Madrid transfer, she says it was like “us against everybody else. But we were together, we were connected.” But in Spain, that connection felt broken. “When we were in Spain, it didn’t really feel like we had each other either. And that’s sad,” she says. “I can’t even begin to tell you how hard it was and how it affected me.”

Alone in a new city where he didn’t speak the language, David says the move to Madrid was disorienting, with Victoria struggling to even describe how hard it was on their family as they confronted a fresh hell every day. “It felt like we were not losing each other, but drowning,” he explains.

“It was a nightmare. From the minute we opened the door in the morning, the press were there in cars and everywhere we went, we would get followed,” Victoria says of the time that her husband still can’t quite figure out how they survived. The scrutiny expanded outward to the pair’s children, whose morning commutes to their primary schools were blown up into mad tabloid scrambles that included rude comments shouted at son Brooklyn about his parents. “It was an absolute circus — it’s really entertaining when the circus comes to town, right? Unless you’re in it,” Victoria laments.

Saying his wife is “everything” to him, David recalls that seeing Victoria upset at the attention was incredibly difficult. “But… we’re fighters and at that time we needed to fight for each other. We needed to fight for our family,” he says on the verge of tears, noting that sometimes he didn’t know how he would even walk onto the pitch and pretend that everything was okay whilst feeling “physically sick” every day at work.

“Did I resent David? If I’m being totally honest, yes I did,” Victoria says. “It was probably, if I’m being honest, the most unhappy I’ve ever been in my entire life.” How bad was it? When Victoria was scheduled to give birth to their third son Cruz in February 2005, David said he didn’t think he could be at the hospital because he had a photo shoot… with Jennifer Lopez and Beyoncé. “‘Are you kidding me?’” Victoria, who was on bedrest and “about to burst” remembers saying to her husband.

Not feeling her most beautiful after the scheduled c-section, Victoria says she woke up the day after to a tabloid headline that read “What Will Posh Say?” alongside a “gorgeous” picture of Becks with the two superstar singers. “Let me tell you what Posh would say! Posh was pissed off!” she says.

The couple who married in 1999, have four children, daughter Harper (12), Cruz (18), Romeo (21) and Brooklyn (24).

The episode also gives viewers a glimpse at the the soccer player’s immense color-coordinated closet and his week’s worth of pre-selected clothes on a rack, as well as the jubilation that erupted after he won the La Liga championship with Madrid in his final season in 2007. The second half of the episode focuses on Beckham’s game-changing transfer to the Los Angeles Galaxy team that somehow made him an even bigger star and helped boost soccer to true major league status in the United States.

That move also included an Oscar-worthy “Welcome to America” party at the LA. Museum of Contemporary Art in 2007 that was thrown by pal Tom Cruise and Will Smith and which was attended by Jada Pinkett Smith, Katie Holmes, Tyrese, Ron Howard, Brooke Shields, Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, Eva Longoria, Bruce Willis, Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy and Friends‘ Matthew Perry, among many others. The night famously included Cruise re-creating his Risky Business dance and Stevie Wonder singing “Happy Birthday” to the guest of honor.

Former soccer star David Beckham was legendary for his ability to bend free kicks into the goal during a lauded two-decade career that included league titles in England, France, Spain and the U.S. But the headline-grabbing midfielder with the chiseled looks of a male model and sartorial style of a jet-setting fashionista struggled with the instant fame he achieved on the pitch, as well as the relentless scrutiny that came with his relationship with former Spice Girls member Victoria “Post Spice” Adams.
Those are among the story lines in the first trailer for the upcoming Netflix four-part documentary series, Beckham. The nearly three-minute preview that dropped on Tuesday morning (Sept. 19) opens with footage of Beckham scoring on the field before pivoting to archival tape of the London-born footballer as a child, with the Inter Miami Football Club co-owner revealing that he “never did well at school.”

The reason, of course, was because all he ever wanted to do was play football. Victoria makes the scene just 22 seconds into the preview, revealing that her manager at the time kept counseling her to keep their relationship “under wraps” during a period when she was beginning to emerge on her own after a world-beating run as part of the Spice Girls in the early and mid-1990s.

“So we would meet in car parks… and that’s not as seedy as it sounds,” she says in the promo for the series that begins airing on Oct. 4 that was directed by Oscar-winner Fisher Stevens (The Cove, Crazy Love). The couple began dating in 1997 and got engaged the following year, welcoming the first of their four children, Brooklyn, in March 1999, just four months before their wedding. After the pair became the fashion and sports worlds’ most photogenic couple, Beckham says his life became “something different,” as their faces were splashed on adverts all around the world and the media attention began to eclipse his on-field play.

“We were worried he’d lose all what he’d worked for, cause football come first and all of a sudden it wasn’t,” says his mother, Sandra West. The scrutiny and backlash was so intense that Beckham says he wasn’t eating or sleeping at the time, a troubling period that was heightened when his Manchester United coach, Alex Ferguson, hurled a boot that caused a gash over Beckham’s eye after a bitter loss to rival Arsenal in Feb. 2003.

“It’s really entertaining with the circus comes to town, right? Unless you’re in it,” Victoria says amid tape of the family driving through massive hordes of fans as Beckham relates that the couple were “drowning” from the attention. The full series promises to give fans a mixture of “never-before-seen personal archive footage from the last 40 years, candid current-day moments and interviews with the family, friends and footballing figures who have been part of his journey.”
