BTS Continues Its Aerial Yoga Adventures in Special ‘Run BTS’ Episode: Watch

BTS continues to soar to new heights — both in international success and fitness endeavors. The K-pop group picked up where it left off in the special Run BTS episode, which sees members Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jung Kook giving the aerial silks a try. In part two of the special episode, shared on Tuesday (Oct. 18), the septet decided to give a new set of elegant poses a test run now that they’ve found confidence in the craft.

The beginning of the episode sees the Bangtan Boys looking up the poses they wish to try during the aerial class. Where the first part saw the members struggling to get the hang of the silks, they now fly through the poses and even show off for the other members, doing ab crunches while suspended in the air and climbing the silks as if they were ropes.

“I don’t think you you guys are in your right mind,” Suga tells Jung Kook and Jimin, to which Jin adds, “You are doing real workouts.”

After their shenanigans ceased, each member hit the poses they selected from the beginning of the episode, and later went into doubles poses for fun. With their confidence in aerial yoga at an all time high, the BTS members shared they will continue their practice in a third installment of the Run BTS episode.

The new installment of Run BTS arrives after Big Hit revealed that Jin will be the first of the group to sign up for South Korean military service. “Jin will initiate the process as soon as his schedule for his solo release is concluded at the end of October. He will then follow the enlistment procedure of the Korean government,” the label said in a statement. “Other members of the group plan to carry out their military service based on their own individual plans.” The statement also added that the group will reconvene around 2025, after each members’ respective drafts are over.

In the meantime, the next part of “Fly BTS Fly” is set to arrive next week, and will first air through Weverse and VLive, before arriving on YouTube. Watch the newest installment of Run BTS below.

Taylor Swift Unveils More Lyrics in Nashville & Brazil at Stroke of Midnight, Just Like ‘Clockwork’

Swifties have just two more days to wait until the release of Taylor Swift‘s Midnights, and the pop star is building up the anticipation by offering them sparse clues and details to find. That includes cryptic billboards she’s started placing in partnership with Spotify in random cities across the world, programmed to reveal one lyric at a time from the new record, always at 12 a.m. sharp.

One of two new lyric reveals went live via a billboard placed in a São Paulo, Brazil, train station at midnight local time (11 p.m. ET), showcasing in bright purple lettering and the lyric: “Just like clockwork, the dominoes cascaded in a line.”

A second billboard popped up an hour later (12 a.m. ET) on the side of Nashville’s 1720 West End building, displaying the words “Did you ever have someone kiss you in a crowded room?”

“Now I’m standing alone in a crowded room… in Nashville,” read a post about the second billboard on Spotify’s official Twitter account, referencing a lyric from Swift’s Speak Now track “Story of Us.”

Swift first began hiding Midnights lyrics in plain sight on Monday (Oct. 17), when she and Spotify staged an electronic billboard in the mecca of electronic billboards: New York City’s Times Square. At the stroke of midnight, a massive vertical sign on one end of the plaza lit up with the lyric “I should not be left to my own devices.”

Next, the singer-songwriter unveiled a billboard in London revealing just five words of a Midnights song: “I polish up real nice.”

These metropolitan lyric reveals are just one of several ways Swift has been teaming up with Spotify during the rollout of Midnights, her 10th studio album arriving Friday (Oct. 21). The 11-time Grammy winner has also been sharing exclusive videos with her fans via the music streaming service explaining her sources of inspiration for the record; “self-loathing,” “fantasizing about revenge,” “wondering what might have been” and “falling in love” make up the topics of four of the five total videos that have been uploaded to the Midnights Spotify pre-save page so far.

Come midnight Thursday morning (Oct. 20), fans may very well have another lyric billboard to pore over — only time will tell. It is, however, confirmed that a teaser for Midnights will air during the third quarter of Thursday Night Football that same day.

Car Seat Headrest Cancel West Coast Tour Over Health Issues: ‘My Body Lack the Basic Levels of Functionality’

Car Seat Headrest singer Will Toledo told fans on Tuesday (Oct. 18) that he is unable to embark on the band’s planned West Coast U.S. tour and an appearance at this weekend’s When We Were Young festival due to what he described as ongoing serious health issues.

“After another month of struggling to regain my health, I am currently forced to face the fact that my body lacks the basic levels of functionality necessary to leave the house most days, let along embark on a tour,” Toledo wrote in a note to fans.

Though the 30-year-old singer did not specify what is ailing him, he said as a result of his illness they’ve been forced to pull out of the all-star When We Were Young event at the Las Vegas Festival Ground (Oct. 22, 23, 29) slated to feature sets from Paramore, My Chemical Romance, AFI, Hawthorne Heights, Jimmy Eat World, Bright Eyes, The Linda Lindas, Manchester Orchestra, The Used and many more.

“We are unfortunately forced to pull out of the When We Were Young festival dates and cancel our upcoming California tour,” Toledo noted of scheduled October dates in Pioneertown, CA (Oct. 20), Los Angeles (Oct. 25), San Diego (Oct. 26) and Santa Ana (Oct. 27). Refunds for the headlining dates will be available at point of purchase.

The band also pulled out of the Frantic City Fest in New Jersey on Sept. 24 citing unspecified “continued health issues as well as a planned Sept. 2 slot at Out of Space in Evanston, Illinois due to a rebound case of the post-COVID condition “histamine intolerance,” which Toledo said involves “heavy nausea, fatigue, dizziness and a ‘buzzing’ nervous system.”

Jack Black Rocks Terminally Ill Teen‘s World With ’The Legend of the Rent’ Performance

Jack Black made a 15-year-old fan’s day by giving him the most rocking of surprises. While hosting this year’s Layla Paige and Friends Walk for TinityKids Care charity event to raise funds for a hospice program that provides end-of-life care for children in the L.A. area, Black met terminally ill superfan Abraham, whose favorite movie happens to be Black’s 2003 musical comedy School of Rock.

After finding out that Abraham’s favorite song from the film was “The Legend of the Rent,” Black bent down, held the teen’s hand and belted out a bit of the tune, crooning, “In the end of time/ There was a man/ Who knew the road/ And the writing/ Was written on the stone.” Abraham nodded and smiled as Black not only sung the tune, but also scatted the guitar part, which the teen then repeated back to him.

Black played hapless teacher Dewey Finn in the movie, which earned him an MTV Video Music Award for best comedic performance and a Golden Globe nomination for best actor in a comedy/musical. The annual walk celebrates the life of Layla Paige, a two-year-old who died of an incurable brain disorder who received treatment at TrinityKids Care. “Not only did they take care of Layla, but provided incredible emotional support to her parents and brother Luke,” Black said in a video promoting the walk.

Black comedy rock duo, Tenacious D, are slated to rock New Year’s Eve at the Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas on Dec. 30 and 31st.

Little Simz Wins Mercury Prize 2022

Little Simz’s fourth studio album Sometimes I Might Be Introvert is the winner of Britain’s Mercury Prize, beating out a shortlist that included chart-topping LPs from Harry Styles, Wet Leg and Sam Fender.

With her victory, Simz scoops a cash prize of £25,000 ($28,000), a special trophy, and the sort of exposure that typically launches the winning record back into the U.K. chart.

Sometimes I Might Be Introvert dropped in 2021 via Age 101, and peaked at No. 4 on the Official U.K. Albums Chart, easily eclipsing her previous career best, No. 87 for her 2019 release Grey Area.

Born and raised in London, Little Simz (real name Simbiatu “Simbi” Abisola Abiola Ajikawo) enjoyed a breakthrough with her 2010 debut mixtape, Stratosphere. The Mercury Prize could launch her own career into the stratosphere.

She’s no stranger to awards nights. Earlier this year, the rapper won the Brit Award for best new act, she’s won Ivor Novellos, MOBO Awards, and now, bragging rights for having produced the album of the year.

Speaking from the stage at Hammersmith’s Eventim Apollo on Tuesday (Oct. 18), Simz admitted she was “very very overwhelmed” with her win.

Paying tribute to all the other nominated records, she added, “We all made incredible albums, we all change people’s lives with our music and that’s the most important thing. So this is for us really.”

Little Simz and other shortlisted artists performed during the 2022 final, which was initially postponed when Queen Elizabeth II died.

The Mercury Prize was launched in 1992 to celebrate the best of British and Irish music across a range of contemporary music genres. Today, it’s considered the music equivalent to the Booker Prize for literature and the Turner Prize for art, its music industry panel judging the entries and ultimate winner on artistic achievement.

Previous winners have included Pulp, Portishead, Arctic Monkeys, James Blake and Arlo Parks, who took the prize last year for her album Collapsed in Sunbeams.

Cole Bennett returns to direct the fun new clip, which features the trio at a circus, surrounded by adults dressed as bunnies, and cameos from Lil Tracy and Bennett himself.

Matters take a dark turn, as DeLonge, Mark Hoppus, and Travis Barker showcase their knife-throwing skills with the rabbits the hapless targets.

It’s more Monty Python than Donnie Darko, as the floppy-eared friends get taken out.

“Oh no, look at the mess we started,” sings DeLonge and Hoppus. Indeed.

Bennett, the Lyrical Lemonade chief, videographer and music video director, has worked on music videos for Juice Wrld, Jack Harlow, Lil Durk, The Kid Laroi and many more.

Blink is very much back. Just last week, the rockers announced that the group’s classic lineup would reunite for a new album, led by “Edging,” marking the first time in a decade that the three founders had been in the studio together.

DeLonge, who had previously left the group in 2014 and was replaced by Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba, tweeted that “‘Edging’ is fun, and a perfect way to remind u of the fun again. But just u f—ing wait.”

A world tour will follow. Produced by Live Nation, the global jaunt includes the trio’s first-ever performances in Latin America along with runs in North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand starting March 2023 and running through February 2024.

The Australia tour announcement, LN reports, “has received an extraordinary response from fans” as three extra arena dates are added to the itinerary.

TWICE Celebrate 7th Anniversary by Sharing Their Most Meaningful Singles Yet: Exclusive

When a K-pop group hits the seven-year mark, it traditionally marks a decisive and sometimes challenging moment for an act to decide whether or not its members would like to renew their contracts and move forward together. Luckily for TWICE, their upcoming seventh anniversary on Oct. 20 can be a day of pure celebration for the group and their fans as all nine members of the K-pop super group renewed their contracts with longtime label JYP Entertainment in July.

“Ahead of the expiration of their exclusive contracts this fall, all members of TWICE completed renewing their contracts,” JYP Entertainment shared with the media. “TWICE, who played a crucial role in establishing JYP’s status, and JYP, which became a reliable source of support for TWICE growing to become a representative K-pop girl group, agreed based on this trust to renew the contracts with confidence in an even better future.”

TWICE followed up the good news with a new EP titled Between 1&2 that became their first album to earn 100,000 copies in its opening week and made them the first K-pop girl group to land three Top 10 albums on the Billboard 200. While this week marks Between 1&2‘s seventh consecutive week on the Billboard 200, at No. 131, the EP marks something additionally momentous for the group as the album transitions from TWICE’s first and second chapters.

After Oct. 20, 2022, TWICE will enter a new phase as a group with an undeniable established presence in the world’s biggest markets and hue potential to keep growing. Lewis Capaldi Announces New Album ‘Broken By Desire to Be Heavenly Sent’

The king of heartbreak is back. Lewis Capaldi took to Instagram on Tuesday (Oct. 18) to reveal that his sophomore album, Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent will be arriving on May 19, 2023.

In addition, the star will be embarking on a global tour, which kicks off on January 14 in Leeds, England, and will stretch across Europe until March 15 in Munich, Germany. On March 30, Capaldi will cross the pond to begin his North American tour in Nashville, Tenn., on March 30. His US dates wrap up on May 11 in Houston, Texas, before he heads off to Australia and New Zealand.

Capaldi revealed on Instagram that he is signing the first 2000 copies of his album that have been pre-ordered.

The announcement comes just a month after Capaldi welcomed his sophomore album’s era with the emotive “Forget Me” and its ironically goofy music video.

Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent is a follow-up to Capaldi’s debut album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, which landed the 26-year-old star his first Grammy nomination for the album’s breakthrough single, “Someone You Loved,” which was up for song of the year at the 2020 ceremony.

The album peaked at No. 20 on the Billboard 200 and spent an impressive 177 weeks total on the chart. “Someone You Loved,” meanwhile, topped the Hot 100 chart for three weeks, and spent 54 weeks total on the chart. Capaldi’s debut album’s second single, “Before You Go,” peaked at No. 9 on the Hot 100 dated September 26, 2020.

‘The Voice’ Contestants Stun With Performance of Lady Gaga’s ‘Paparazzi’

The Voice continued its Battle rounds on Tuesday night (Oct. 18), this time pitting contestants Eric Who and Sydney Kronmiller against each other for a performance of Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” that viewers won’t forget. In a promo released on YouTube before the episode, the two singers harmonized perfectly as they competed for judge Camila Cabello’s team.

It seems like the “Havana” singer adored the performance and and was thoroughly impressed by each contestant’s very different, but equally stunning renditions of the Gaga classic. “Sydney, I have never heard a voice like yours before,” Cabello told Kronmiller. “Your note choices were so different and weird, and the way you slide in and out of falsetto.”

She also seemed to enjoy Eric’s boisterous presence adding, “Eric, I saw you really grow as an artist and step into somebody I’m really excited to hear on the radio, see perform in shows.”

Kronmiller’s low vocal range is what really caught the judges’ attention. “The fact that you can do that and still have the higher notes in your register too–you really gave a great performance,” said John Legend of her performance.

And once again, it’s Eric’s stage presence and energy that wowed judges. While Blake Shelton shared he was shocked by Kronmiller’s register, he described Eric as the “happiest person,” telling Cabello he wouldn’t be able to deny the theatrical contestant a spot.

While the judges had a warm reaction to the two, only one can go on to compete on Cabello’s team. Viewers will have to tune into the episode, airing tonight on NBC. Watch the teaser video below.

Glass Animals‘ “Heat Waves” set a new record this week as the longest-running hit in the history of the Billboard Hot 100. On the chart dated Oct. 22, the No. 1 hit officially surpassed The Weeknd‘s “Blinding Lights” by spending 91 weeks on the tally.

And now that Dave Bayley and his bandmates are the reigning record holders thanks to the remarkable, slow-burning success of their single, we want to know which longtime Hot 100 hit is your favorite.

Of the never-ending cascade of songs that have gone up and down the all-genre tally since its inception in 1958, only 10 have spent at least 68 weeks on the chart — including hits by Imagine Dragons, AWOLNATION, Dua Lipa and more.
