Watch Karol G Sing ‘Mañana Sera Bonito’ Hits in NPR ‘Tiny Desk Concert’

Karol G stopped by NPR’s headquarters for her second “Tiny Desk Concert,” which premiered Monday (May 15). 

The 17-minute acoustic performance, where she was accompanied by an all-girl music ensemble, included new versions of four tracks from her Billboard history-making album Mañana Será Bonito. She kicked it off the mini-set with the ultra-personal “Carolina.”

“I have to say that I’m super proud of them because this show is special,” she said of the talented musicians. “It’s the first time after eight years that I never rehearse with my In-Ears. I forgot how cool it feels. I feel like I’m in my home, with my people, drinking wine […] but now, let’s bring some Mexican vibes to this place!” she added before performing her heartfelt Banda track “Gucci Los Paños.” 

Rocking a trucker hat, a yellow jacket, and blue locks, the Colombian artist expressed “I don’t know why I’m so nervous,” she said. “The album is super new and this is the first time I’m singing some of the songs here, and they feel so good in this version.” 

She then performed a sultry reggae version of her Quevedo-assisted “Pero Tú” and a heartfelt bossanova version of “Mercurio.” 

“Tiny Desk, thanks for the opportunity, this is super great and it kind of takes us out of the routine of what we normally do,” she noted. “It was a pleasure for all those who are at home, to share this moment with you and to share it in this way that is so personal for many reasons.” 

Karol made her NPR debut in 2021 for a “Tiny Desk Home Concert,” where she performed “Creeme,” “A Ella,” “200 Copas” with special guest Danny Felix, and “Contigo Voy a Muerte” with special guest Camilo.

Hailey Bieber Definitely Wants to Have Babies With Justin Bieber But Admits ‘I Get Scared’

Hailey Bieber can’t wait to start a family with husband Justin Bieber. If only she could get over her nerves. The 26-year-old model told The Sunday Times that after nearly five years of marriage to the pop star the conversation is definitely happening.

“I literally cry about this all the time,” Hailey told the paper according to People. “I want kids so bad but I get scared. It’s enough that people say things about my husband or my friends. I can’t imagine having to confront people saying things about a child.” The Biebers have gotten used to being the subjects of intense public scrutiny during the course of an on-and-off relationship that began in 2015, including in March of this year when she thanked Justin’s ex, Selena Gomez, for tamping down rumors of an alleged feud.

“We can only do the best we can to raise them,” Hailey added of their potential future offspring. “As long as they feel loved and safe.” It’s not he first time Hailey has broached the subject of having kids. Last August, the Rhode founder told Harper’s Bazaar that being married and planning for a family is hard work.

“He’s still the person that I wanna be rushing back to,” Hailey told the magazine. “I might fly somewhere and go do a job, but I can’t wait to come back and hang out. I feel like that’s because of the effort that’s been put in on both sides. At the end of the day, like, he’s my best friend, but it still does take a lot of work to make it work. And then I know eventually, when kids come in the picture, that’s going to be a whole other season of navigating how to make that work.”

Justin hasn’t been shy about having baby fever, either. During a chat with his old pal Ellen DeGeneres in 2020, JB said he’s down to have “as many as Hailey is wishing to push out… I’d love to have myself a little tribe. But, yeah, it’s her body and whatever she wants to do… I thinks she wants to have a few.”

A year later they still had babies on the brain in a clip from Justin’s Amazon Prime doc, Justin Bieber: Our World. “My intention for 2021 is to continue to set goals and have fun while doing them,” Bieber said in one clip, adding, “make sure I put my family first, and hopefully we squish out a nugget.”

Justin has been laying low since revealing last summer that he suffers from the Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused partial facial paralysis and forced the singer to cancel his Justice World tour as a result of the diagnosis.

Morgan Wallen’s ‘Last Night’ Is No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100, Toosii’s ‘Favorite Song’ Hits Top 10

Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” claims a sixth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart.

SZA’s “Kill Bill” holds at No. 2 on the Hot 100, three weeks after it became her first No. 1, and ties for the longest command – 20 weeks – in the history of the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

Plus, Toosii’s “Favorite Song” jumps from No. 11 to No. 8 on the Hot 100, becoming his first top 10 on the chart.

The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data. All charts (dated May 20, 2023) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (May 16). For all chart news, you can follow @billboard and @billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram.

Wallen’s “Last Night,” released on Big Loud/Mercury/Republic Records, drew 60.2 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 8%) and 34.3 million streams (up 6%) and sold 9,000 downloads (down 2%) in the May 5-11 tracking week, according to Luminate.

The song, which first led the Hot 100 in March, becoming his initial leader on the list, rebounds from No. 2 for an eighth week at No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart; holds at No. 2 on Digital Song Sales, following a week on top; and keeps at its No. 5 best on Radio Songs.

A week after becoming the first song ever to top the Hot 100 and the Country Airplay chart simultaneously, “Last Night” adds a second week atop the latter list. It also pushes 13-12 on Pop Airplay, 15-14 on Adult Pop Airplay and 22-19 on Adult Contemporary.

“Last Night” concurrently leads the Hot Country Songs chart, which uses the same methodology as the Hot 100, for a 14th week.

As previously reported, parent album One Thing at a Time tops the Billboard 200 for a 10th week. As Wallen’s last LP, Dangerous: The Double Album, also reigned for 10 frames, he becomes the first male soloist ever with back-to-back 10-week No. 1s, dating to the chart’s 1956 launch.

SZA’s “Kill Bill” keeps at No. 2 on the Hot 100, three weeks after it became her first No. 1. It rules the multi-metric Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot R&B Songs charts for a 20th and 21st week, respectively.

On Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, “Kill Bill” makes history, as it ties Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, for the longest No. 1 run since the chart became an all-encompassing genre survey in 1958.

Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” repeats at No. 3 on the Hot 100, after eight weeks at No. 1 beginning upon its debut in January. It posts a 13th week atop Radio Songs (91.5 million in audience, up 1%).

“Flowers” ties for the 10th-longest reign since Radio Songs began in December 1990. (It also matches Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day” for the second-longest domination for a Columbia Records single, after only Adele’s “Easy On Me.”)

Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma’s “Ella Baila Sola” repeats at its No. 4 high on the Hot 100, the best rank ever for a regional Mexican song in the chart’s history. The collaboration notches a sixth week at No. 1 on the multimetric Hot Latin Songs chart.

Rema and Selena Gomez’s “Calm Down” rounds out the Hot 100’s top five, holding at its No. 5 best. It tops the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart for a 37th week, extending the longest rule since the ranking began just over a year ago (in partnership with music festival and global brand Afro Nation).

Metro Boomin, The Weeknd and 21 Savage’s “Creepin’ ” is steady at No. 6 on the Hot 100, after hitting No. 3, and Grupo Frontera and Bad Bunny’s “Un x100to” is stationary at No. 7, after reaching No. 5.

“Favorite Song” surges from No. 11 to No. 8 on the Hot 100, where it becomes the first top 10 for Toosii, born Nau’Jour Grainger in Syracuse, N.Y., where he was raised before relocating to Raleigh, N.C., and pursuing a music career. The melodic rap song ascends with 28.5 million in airplay audience (up 11%), 20.7 million streams (up 6%) and 3,000 sold (down 2%). Aiding its counts, a remix featuring Khalid arrived May 5 (the first day of the tracking week). The single also tops the multimetric Hot Rap Songs chart for a second week.

TikTok has been key to the track’s profile, thanks to both its original and sped-up versions. Between the two, the song has soundtracked over 1 million clips on the platform. (Activity on TikTok does not directly contribute to Billboard’s charts.)

Top 10 ‘song’s: “Favorite Song” is the whopping 43rd Hot 100 top 10 with the word “song” in its title. The list began with The Chipmunks’ “The Chipmunk Song” with David Seville (No. 1 for four weeks in 1958-59), and was most recently bolstered by … a fellow Yuletide standard, Nat King Cole’s “The Christmas Song (Merry Christmas to You),” which reached the region for the first time over the latest holiday season (No. 9). Just before that, Post Malone’s “I Like You (A Happier Song)” featuring Doja Cat, hit No. 3 last October.

The Weeknd and Ariana Grande’s “Die for You” dips 8-9 on the Hot 100, following a week at No. 1 in March.

Capping the Hot 100’s top 10, Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero” keeps at No. 10. The song became her sole longest-leading No. 1, for eight weeks in November-January. It adds a 27th week in the top 10, likewise extending her longest stay in the tier.

Shakira’s ‘Acróstico’ Music Video Features Sons Milan & Sasha Singing, Playing the Piano: Watch

Shakira‘s “Acróstico” music video, which dropped Monday (May 15) just days after the Colombian singer-songwriter released the sweet song on Friday (May 12), features her two children — Milan and Sasha — who sing and play the piano alongside their mother.

“This year Milan has written songs that have made me tear up and Sasha has dedicated hours playing the piano and discovering his voice,” Shakira wrote in Spanish on social media when the video dropped. “Both have spent some time with me in the studio and upon hearing this song, they’ve asked to be part of it. They’ve felt it and interpreted it in their own way and for themselves, with the same passion and emotion of a person who carries music within them.”

The song is a powerful open letter to her children, and is a poetic composition constructed so that the initial letter of each line of lyrics, taken consecutively, form words — in this case, the name of her kids. In “Acróstico,” Shakira uses her raw vocals to showcase her vulnerable emotions in a stripped-down piano ballad, where she expresses a mother’s deep and pure love for her children.

In the video, Sasha joins his mother mid-song as Milan plays the piano. Toward the end, Milan also shows off his singing skills for an unforgettable mother-sons collaboration.

“Milan and Sasha, it’s so beautiful to see how you open your wings to make your dreams come true. There’s nothing else that makes me feel more fulfilled than being your mamá,” the chart-topping artist ended her post.

The 30-year-old singer has announced that Endless Summer Vacation standout “Jaded” will be the next song to get an official visual via a dreamy teaser video posted to her social media accounts Monday (May 15).

In the teaser, a hazy vignette covers shots of Cyrus’ tattooed hands before panning up to reveal her face. Wearing nothing but a pair of dark blue jeans, the pop star folds her arms over her bare chest while lying upside down on white bed sheets, smiling ever so slightly at the camera.

“JADED,” reads text in the video, in between shots of Cyrus. “TOMORROW.”

On Twitter, she confirmed that the project will drop on her YouTube channel at noon ET on Tuesday (May 16). After it arrives, “Jaded” will become the third single — or at least, the third song to get the music video treatment — off her March-released eighth studio album, Endless Summer Vacation. Previous singles include eight-week Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper “Flowers” and its followup, “River,” both of which have corresponding music videos.

The “Party In the U.S.A.” singer first teased the video a couple days prior to the announcement, sharing photos that are now clearly from the “Jaded” shoot on Instagram. “You’re lonely now & I hate it,” she wrote in the caption, using lyrics from the song’s chorus.

Earlier this month, Cyrus celebrated the triumph of “Flowers” becoming the fastest song to ever reach 1 billion streams on Spotify. “Thanks a billion,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “I love you.”

Lizzo Jams Out With Lisa & Bart in ‘Dream Come True’ ‘Simpsons’ Cameo: Watch

Lizzo is feeling good as h-ll about her Simpsons debut. The 35-year-old hitmaker teased her first ever cameo on the iconic TV cartoon Sunday (May 14), sharing a preview video of the jam session she enjoys with Lisa and Bart Simpson in the upcoming episode.

In the clip, a Simpson-ified Lizzo — wearing one of her trademark Yitty athleisure sets — appears to record voiceovers with Homer Simpson for an animated project directed by Lisa and Bart. When instructed to slap Homer for a sound effect, she tells Bart, “Seems a bit excessive to me, but hey, you’re the kid.”

To make her feel more comfortable, Bart takes on the task of repeatedly slapping his dad himself. “This beat is fire,” Lizzo then declares, dancing along to the rhythm of Bart’s smacks. “Yo, Lisa. How ’bout I get Sasha Flute, you get your saxo-mo-phone, and we jam!”

“Every Icon has been on @thesimpsons — now I can add my name to the list!” the “About Damn Time” singer captioned the scene that she posted to her Instagram account. “Thank you to the whole team for making this a dream come true ? (yes I’m wearing @yitty and playing @sashabefluting ) !!!!”

According to IMDB, the episode is titled “Homer’s Adventure Through the Windshield Glass” and will air Sunday (May 21). She’s also set to voice a “happy little elf doll” in the episode that will mark the finale of The Simpsons season 34.

Lizzo also shared part of the sneak peek to her other Instagram account, which she runs on behalf of her flute — named Sasha Flute after Beyoncé’s alter ego, Sasha Fierce. “IM OFFICIALLY THE MOST FAMOUS FLUTE IN D WORLD,” wrote “Sasha” of the moment Lizzo and Lisa hammer out a funky melody on their flute and saxophone.

Kim Petras Announces New Album & Models for ‘Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’ Cover

Woo-ah, indeed! Kim Petras shared two major bits of news on Monday (May 15): Her major-label debut is finally on its way and she’s on the cover of the 2023 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.

Titled Feed the Beast, the German pop princess revealed the album’s release date and what looks like the cover art on social media, writing, “The story begins on June 23rd. Feed The Beast” and offering a link for fans to pre-save the album on streaming platforms. The accompanying artwork is missing Petras altogether, though, opting instead to show a fantastical sword propped up against a giant obsidian rock against a midnight blue sky.

So far, Feed the Beast is expected to contain Petras’ previously released singles “If Jesus Was a Rockstar,” “Brr” and “Alone” featuring Nicki Minaj.

The singer’s loyal army of Bunheads were ecstatic over the announcement, with one writing, “CMON DEBUT!” in the comments, and another joking, “Kim don’t turn around the beast is behind you.”

Meanwhile, for this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, the trans Grammy winner joins Martha Stewart, Megan Fox and model Brooks Nader as one of four cover models, wearing an iridescent gold bikini top designed by Natalia Fedner.

To celebrate her groundbreaking cover, the recent Billboard Women in Music Chartbreaker honoree — who’s also on the May/June cover of Out — is set to perform a special concert presented by Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Friday (May 19) at Hollywood, Fla.’s Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood.

Later this summer, Petras will mark the release of Feed the Beast with another high-profile show — this one as part of Today‘s 2023 Citi Summer Concert Series on the day of the album release.

This smoldering power ballad (written by DeFord and David Ray Stevens) melds and highlights country music’s breadth of current-day influences, from Jelly Roll’s gritty, rock-infused style, to Wilson’s twangy, R&B-flavored country. Taylor Swift Recalls Surprising Her Mom With Secret ‘Fearless’ Track During Mother’s Day Concert

Taylor Swift and her mom had the best day this Mother’s Day. While closing out her three-night Eras Tour run at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field on Mother’s Day (May 14), the pop star gave an emotional performance of her 2008 tribute track for Mama Swift, “The Best Day” — but not before recalling the sweet story of how she sneakily surprised her mom with the song all those years ago.

“I secretly recorded a song on Fearless,” she told the crowd, sitting at her piano for the second of her two nightly surprise songs (the first one was “Hey Stephen,” another Fearless favorite). “It was very sneaky and fun.”

The “Anti-Hero” singer went on to say that it was very difficult to write and record “The Best Day” without her mom knowing, as she was just 16 or 17 at the time. “I wrote this song just compiling these sort of core childhood memories I had of not just her as a mother, but her as a friend,” she continued.

After playing it for the first time for her mom, Andrea Swift, she asked, “Did you like the song?”

Andrea, however, didn’t even realize it had been written about and for her. “It’s such a beautiful song. Where did you find it? It sounds exactly like the things we went through,” Swift’s mom replied, according to the star.

“I was like, ‘Mom, I wrote it and recorded it secretly, it is our memories,” Swift explained to her, which she said moved Andrea to tears. “It was the sweetest thing ever because I just think she couldn’t have comprehended that I would write a song about the two of us.”

The 12-time Grammy winner admitted that the song makes her emotional as well, and that she would try her best to get through the whole thing without getting choked up.

Swift also gave another shoutout earlier in the night to Andrea, who was seen watching the show from a box seat with the musician’s dad, Scott, as well as The 1975’s Matty Healy, Swift’s rumored romantic interest. “Mother’s Day’s awesome,” she said during the Evermore portion of the setlist. “My mom’s my best friend, I’m obsessed with my mom.”

Taylor Swift Fan Says Singer Proved ‘She Has Our Back’ During Philadelphia Incident With Security Guard

If you didn’t already know that Taylor Swift has Swifties’ backs, now you know. A fan who was on the receiving end of some Taylor largesse on Saturday night during the singer’s second night performing her Eras Tour at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field spoke to Good Morning America on Monday (May 15) about what it felt like to have Swift come to her aid during the show this weekend.

As chronicled in a number of fan videos, the incident came during Swift’s performance of “Bad Blood,” when the singer asked a security guard to ease up on Swifties dancing along to the show. “She’s fine,” Taylor said in the midst of the song’s chorus in which she appeared to call out the unnamed guard. “She wasn’t doing anything. Hey, stop! Stop!”

Now the fan, identified by GMA as Maryland third grade teacher Kelly Inglis Kelly, said she and her friends were dancing along to “Bad Blood” in their front row seats when, for some reason, the security guard allegedly began making demands.

“He kept telling me to stop. He kept telling me to like calm down and not to dance,” Kelly told GMA. “And I guess she noticed and she yelled at him and told him to leave me alone and that I wasn’t doing anything wrong.”

Kelly also spoke out on a friend’s TikTok feed, explaining, “I was the girl that Taylor talked to last night. Basically, the guard had been harassing our group all night, just to like… he just kept telling us not to touch the rail, and like anytime we did anything he was on top of us. We’re dancing, we’re having fun, and he didn’t like it. And Taylor noticed that I was having fun and that he didn’t like it, and she didn’t like it, and then he basically, like, got escorted out. And then they offered us free tickets for tonight [Sunday ].”

In the end, Kelly said, “it wasn’t this big crazy thing. It was just a bunch of girls having a good time and he didn’t want us to have fun.”

The teacher thanked Swift for speaking up during the show. “I think it means so much to everybody else, so her fans know that, like, she has our back,” Kelly said. Swift’s spokesperson had not returned Billboard’s request for comment at press time and GMA said a rep for Lincoln Financial Field would not comment when reached.

Kelly said she was back at the venue on Sunday night for the final gig of the three-night stand. Other standout moments during the Philly show included the nightly surprise song portion of Swift’s set, which included Fearless deep cut “Forever & Always” (requested by her friend Lena Dunham) and 1989 standout “This Love.”

Swift is moving on to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA on Friday (May 19) for another three-night stand.
