In a dazzling display of chart dominance, Bad Bunny secures his fifth consecutive year at the pinnacle of the coveted Top Latin Artists survey, as Billboard revealed in its 2023 Year-End charts on Tuesday (Nov. 21). Bunny’s achievement solidifies him as the only artist to claim the year-end Top Latin Artist title five times since the category’s inception in 2011.
Peso Pluma — unequivocally, the breakout artist of 2023 — is spearheading the regional Mexican music movement to global acclaim, and comes in at No. 2 on the list. In a historic moment, Pluma’s album, Génesis, debuted at an unprecedented No. 3 on the all-genre Billboard 200 in July, marking a groundbreaking achievement as the highest-charting regional Mexican album in Billboard history.
In the female Latin artists space, Karol G maintains her stronghold, securing her position as the sole woman to feature in the top 10 ranking, concluding the year at No. 3 — Shakira follows at No. 14, Rosalía at No. 17, Becky G at No. 31, and Kali Uchis at No. 32. Additionally, the Colombian hitmaker clinches this remarkable feat for the fifth consecutive year.
While the top 10 Latin artists are featured below, the broader landscape of the top 25 includes Natanael Cano at No. 11, Yng Lvcas at No. 12, followed by Romeo Santos at 13. The lineup extends to Shakira, Ozuna, Carin León, Rosalía, Anuel AA, Myke Towers, Manuel Turizo, Eladio Carrión, Bizarrap, Aventura, Acrángel, and Daddy Yankee securing the No. 25 spot. He also achieved his highest ranking album on the Billboard 200, with Mor debuting at No. 31. The album also made its entrance at No. 3 on Latin Rhythm Albums. On the year-end lists, he appears at No. 6 on Latin Airplay Artists, No. 6 on the all-genre Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Artists, and No. 9 on Top Latin Albums Artists, among other chart placements.

With his 2023 album $ad Boyz 4 Life II — which debuted at No. 2 of the Top Latin Albums survey — his star elevated higher, thus catapulting him towards the year-end Top Latin Albums Artists (at No. 12) and Regional Mexican Music Artists at (No. 5). The “El Azul” singer also positioned himself at No. 2 on Regional Mexican Albums with the aforementioned album.

Grupo Frontera
Image Credit: Domingo Rivera In addition to their “un x100to” collaboration with Bad Bunny, which reached No. 5 on the Hot 100, Grupo Frontera demonstrated a consistent presence on the charts with successive hits like “No Se Va” and the Fuerza Regida-assisted “Bebe Dame.” The latter song appeared on multiple year-end lists, such as Latin Airplay Songs at No. 16, and Hot Latin Songs at No. 5. The Tejano act also landed at No. 2 on the year-end Latin Airplay Artists and Top Latin Artists — New lists.

Rauw Alejandro

The space cadet dropped his freestyle-driven album Saturno earlier in the year, followed by his Rosalía collaboration EP, RR, and then the summer release Playa Saturno. The latter album debuted at No. 4 on the Top Latin Albums survey and peaked at No. 29 on the all-genre Billboard 200. “Beso” with Rosalía made an impact as well, debuting at No. 4 on Hot Latin Songs. As for the year-end lists, his presence is visible six times, appearing on charts like Top Latin Albums Artists and Top Latin Artists – Male (both at No. 3).

Eslabon Armado

The collaboration “Ella Baila Sola” with Peso Pluma is crowned No. 1 on the year-end Hot Latin Songs chart; the hit became the first regional Mexican song to dominate the Billboard Global 200 chart, leading for an impressive six consecutive weeks. It also reached the top 10 on the Hot 100, the first of its genre to achieve the feat in the chart’s 65-year-old history.

Fuerza Regida

In a historic milestone, the group becomes the first Spanish-language act to reach the top of the all-genre Top Artists — Duo/Group chart. Furthermore, they secured the No. 38 position in the overall Top Artists recap. During the chart year, the band placed eight songs on the Hot 100 and a couple of albums on the Billboard 200, including their latest Pa las Baby’s y Belikeada. In June, Fuerza graced the cover of Billboard Español.

The Colombian powerhouse holds the highest honor for a woman on the year-end Top Latin Artists list for a fifth consecutive year at No. 3. On the year-end Top Artists list, she stands as the sole Latin woman to claim a position in the top 25, securing her slot at No. 23; On the Top Artists-Female survey, she attains the No. 6 position. It is worth noting that this year her album Mañana Será Bonito made history as the first predominantly Spanish-language album by a woman to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in the chart’s 67-year existence.

Additionally, his remarkable year is further highlighted by seven wins at the 2023 Billboard Latin Music Awards, where he earned titles like Artist of the Year, Tour of the Year, and Global 200 Latin Artist of the Year. Furthermore, Benito claims four entries on the year-end Hot Latin Songs list, with “un X100to,” alongside Grupo Frontera, reaching No. 3. Bunny’s venture into regional Mexican music marked a huge milestone, as the track became the second in this genre to break into the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.
