Doja Cat Bares All in See-Through Swimsuit

Summer is just around the corner, and Doja Cat is bringing the heat with her new Instagram post.

The “Paint the Town Red” star share a series of snaps to the platform in which she’s seen kneeling poolside in a see-through white, thong swimsuit — with her chest and booty on full display. She paired the look with some sling-back white heels and captioned the steamy post with a simple ice cream emoji.

Doja followed up with another photo set in the same swimsuit, this time crawling along a surfboard. “IM TOO FAMOUUUUUUUSSSSSS,” she captioned the post, tagging photographer Jacob Webster.

The 28-year-old superstar is fresh off a headlining gig at Coachella, and is gearing up for the overseas leg of her Scarlet Tour. The “Say So” artist will also headline a couple of radio concerts, including Hot 97’s Summer Jam event, before heading to Europe for a handful of shows and festival sets in England, Amsterdam, Italy and more.

Her 2023 album Scarlet debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. Doja launched her Scarlet era in June with the release of “Attention,” which debuted and peaked at No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100. The accompanying music video — which previewed the era’s overarching horror aesthetic — picked up six nominations at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, ultimately winning best art direction. “Paint the Town Red,” the record’s first radio single, soon followed with a catchy hook and a bouncy Dionne Warwick-sampling beat. The song became Doja’s second Hot 100 No. 1 — her first unaccompanied — becoming the first hip-hop song to reach the top of the ranking in 2023.

Mick Jagger Has an Out-of-This-World Experience at NASA Headquarters

Mick Jagger certainly felt “2000 Light Years From Home” this week, when he stopped by NASA‘s headquarters.

The Rolling Stones frontman stopped by the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, before the iconic rock band kicks off their Hackney Diamonds Tour in the city on Sunday (April 28). “Thanks @nasa for being so welcoming to us and great to be shown around by astronauts Josh Cassada, Bob Hines and Jessica Meir,” Jagger captioned a series of photos from his visit that he posted on Instagram.

In the snaps, the 80-year-old rocker is seen smiling in front of the mission control center, which features a sign welcoming him on the screen inside. He also is seen trying on a VR headset to explore the moon virtually, experiencing a spacecraft simulator, and posing alongside the astronauts.

The Stones’ Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood will hit 16 cities on the AARP-sponsored tour, beginning with an April 28 show at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. The swing will include a stop at Jazz Fest in New Orleans on May 2, as well as stadium shows in Las Vegas, Seattle, Orlando, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Denver, Chicago, Vancouver, and Los Angeles, wrapping up on July 17 with a gig at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA.

The band unveiled their 26th studio album, Hackney Diamonds, marking the first new Rolling Stones album of original music since the release of 2005’s A Bigger Bang, which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album also is the first since the death of band’s drummer Charlie Watts, who passed away at age 80 in 2021.

Billboard Explains: Anitta’s Brazilian Funk Takeover

Anitta unleashed Funk Generation on Friday (April 26), which puts the Brazilian funk that has influenced the trilingual star’s career center stage. Marking her sixth studio album, the set follows 2022’s Versions of Me and is home to the previously released singles “Funk Rave” and “Joga Pra Lua.”

It’s safe to say that all songs on the album are certified bangers. After all, Anitta is a bona fide hitmaker. She first cracked the Billboard Hot 100 in 2020 with “Me Gusta” in collaboration with Cardi B and Myke Towers. Since, she’s had two more songs on the Hot 100, including “Bellakeo” with Peso Pluma and “Envolver.” The latter became a viral hit that spent one week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, just to name a few of her chart accomplishments.

Anitta is set to embark on her first North American tour in May, in support of Funk Generation. “Funk is ingrained in the culture of those who live in Brazilian favelas, where I come from, and has often been unfairly judged as lacking artistic value, even associated with organized crime,” Anitta said in a statement. “It reflects the classism and racism that haunt our society. I’m part of a generation that embraced the rhythm, emerged from the favelas, and conquered Brazil.”

“My new project is very special because it signifies my intention to create an international funk album, something I’ve always dreamed of,” she added. “It’s fulfilling to see that funk is now a source of inspiration and art in the global music scene—a genre with value, awards, and admiration.”

Bunnie XO Takes Part in Viral TikTok Trend to Taylor Swift’s ‘Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?’

Bunnie XO has always been an open book, and her latest TikTok shares insight to her traumatic upbringing.

The Dumb Blonde podcast host took part in a recent trend on the platform to the tune of Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department hit, “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?,” in which she sings, “You wouldn’t last an hour in the asylum where they raised me.” Participants of the trend share the various “asylums” they grew up experiencing.

In Bunnie’s version, she shows a photo of her teenage self before showing a picture of a church as the “asylum” that hurt her. “Pentacostals & Mental Hospitals,” she captioned the photos set, adding, “That pic was taken shortly after I left home at 14. Wait ’til y’all read my book.”

Last week, Bunnie got vulnerable on her podcast and discussed how online bullying and harsh comments have affected her husband, country superstar Jelly Roll. “My husband got off the internet because he is so tired of being bullied about his f–king weight,” she said on the podcast. “And that makes me want to cry, because he is the sweetest angel baby. My husband doesn’t show it to you guys, but I’m going to have a very vulnerable moment here. It hurts him.

“The internet can say whatever they f–king want about you and they say, ‘You’re a celebrity. You’re supposed to be able to handle it.’ No the f–k we’re not … Enough is enough,” she continued. “Don’t bully people, because you never know where they are mentally. There are a lot of people who are not as strong as me, that are on the internet and they don’t deserve to f–kin’ be bullied.”

The entrepreneur also called out internet trolls and bullies who try to intimidate her and her family. “I’m going to stand up for all the f–kin’ underdogs. You’re never going to bully me. You’re never going to lie about me or my family, and I will fight to the end,” she said. “I love it when people say, ‘Bunnie is a bad human. Just wait and you’ll see.’ I’ve been on the internet 15 f–kin’ years. When are they gonna see? I’m waiting. What you see is what you get with me. Keityn on Writing for Karol G, Shakira, Maluma & More: ‘Out of 10 Songs I Write, One Becomes a Hit’

What’s behind Keityn’s extraordinary ability to pen hits?

The 27-year-old from the small city of Palmira, Colombia, was ASCAP’s Latin Music Songwriter of the Year for the second consecutive year, thanks to a string of hits that included Shakira’s “Acróstico” and Shakira and Karol G’s “TQG.”

But, he says, it’s not like everything he touches turns to gold, and definitely not immediately.

“Out of 10 songs I make, one becomes a hit,” Keityn said in a candid interview with Billboard News. “There are many more songs that never come out. You do a lot, and out of that whole, two or three become huge hits.”

In the last couple of months, Keityn (real name Kevyn Mauricio Cruz Moreno) has had plenty of huge hits. They include Karol G’s “Me Curo Del Cora,” which was inspired by the title of the album Mañana Será Bonito (Tomorrow Will Be Pretty). “If tomorrow will be pretty, it means today isn’t. That’s why we made ‘Me Curo del Cora’ (I Heal My Heart).”

As for “TQG,” the track was written with Karol G while the singer was in Los Angeles filming Griselda, the Netflix series starring Sofia Vergara. “Karol had the foresight to send the song to Shakira,” says Keityn.

And then, there’s the most meaningful song for him, Shakira’s “Acróstico.”

“The fact that such an important woman would let me make a song about something so personal … it’s something that fills me with pride,” Keityn says. “I’ve seen her as a mom, and she’s an amazing mom and sings what she feels. I said, ‘If you want to sing what you feel, let’s give some play to the kids.’”

Atlanta rap could be broken down into two buckets: Before Outkast and After Outkast. Before Outkast, Atlanta didn’t have a sure foot on the national music stage. When discussed, many simply lumped it in with music from other parts of the south.

And, so, to anyone above the Mason Dixon southern rap — and, by extension Atlanta — was nothing more than bass drenched ass shaking music meant to be played in strip clubs or really lit BBQs. Some other things broke though nationally, of course. Arrested Development and its positive affirmations or the Geto Boys’ bleak portrayals of hood life, come to mind. But that’s not what everyone first thought of when they thought of the South.

And then came Outkast.

Made up of two teenage friends named Antwon “Big Boi” Patton and André “Andre 3000” Benjamin, Outkast honed their skills battling in their high school cafeteria while making songs in their down time. They were eventually courted by legendary production group Organize Noize before signing to LaFace Records in 1992. You know the rest. They went on to release a succession of classic albums that would help to redefine what music coming out of Georgia’s most populated city could sound like. But it all started with their debut, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik.

Released 30 years ago today, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik is a heady album, one that works hard to prove that young black men all around the country are facing the same issues. And that gangstas and playas come in all shapes and sizes. It was revelatory at the time, and is still effective three decades later. All of rap owes a debt of gratitude to Outkast.

Atlanta strip club culture is the stuff of legend. But back in 1994 few outside of the A knew about it. This brief skit gave listeners a peek into what it was like to frequent one of Atlanta’s many famous nightclubs.

All the skits on this album ostensibly take place in Atlanta, but this is a scene that happens every ‘hood across America. And that’s the genius of Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik: Two kids telling stories that connect with you regardless of where you call home.

This interlude tries to really drive home the idea that the Atlanta in Outkast’s music is different than that of their parents. To do so, an airplane pilot highlights some points and people of interest to the passengers before they land, running off some names outsiders may not have heard before — like “Robbing Crew” and the notorious R.E.D. D.O.G. (Run Every Drug Dealer Out of Georgia), as well as more household names like LaFace Records and Organized Noize Productions.

Before they took the name Outkast, Dre and Big went by 2 Shades Deep, and then The Misfits. When they learned that Misfits was taken they settled on the name they have today. But what does it mean? According to Dungeon Family member Big Rube, Outkast stands for Operating Under The Krooked American System Too Long. And if you thought Outkast stood for something else, well, Rube had some choice words for you.

You would think the first voice an artist would want the audience to hear on their debut album would be their own, but not in 1994. Both Nas and Biggie had intros on their debuts that didn’t involve them, meant to help set up the conceit of not only the project, but the artist as a whole. Outkast decided to go that route, too, with an intro featuring the voice of Dee Dee Hibbler — the wife of Organized Noize co-founder Ray Murrary — inviting listeners to an album that is “phat like herringbone, tight like gnat booty.”

In-house vocalist Sleepy Brown remixed the group’s lead single to create something even more smooth and playa. It’s admittedly a strange way to end the album — “D.E.E.P.” would have been a more fitting closing — but we’ll never turn down an opportunity to hear Brown over some smoothed out funk.

Essentially an album skit, this track helped introduce Organized Noize member Sleepy Brown to the masses, and showed just how versatile the production collective could be when left to their own devices.

Built around a simple bass line and head nod-inducing drums, the duo use all the open space to deliver one of their best lyrical performances on the album. There’s not much of a “song” here, but on some hip-hop head s–t, this has become a cult classic.

A good look into how the duo would later go on to craft extremely catchy hooks that get stuck in your head, “Ain’t No Thang” differs from a lot of the album due to Big Boi and Andre 3000 spending the whole track detailing all the ways they will rob and kill their enemies.

Over what always sounded like a Dr. Dre-inspired beat, half of Goodie Mob (T-Mo and Khujo) assists Outkast in running down all the ways the streets compel the youth to give up their futures to run the streets and commit crimes. “But the question, ‘Should we take that bulls–t from them people?’/ I’m makin’ 300 on my SAT, yet I am equal/ Ain’t no sequel, no saga, no way out, I’m nervous/ I’ve had it up to forehead of suckers tryna serve us/ To graduate is really becomin’ a very stressful journey,” rhymes Andre 3000.

Outkast could never be described as gangsta rappers, but on this track, the duo come close — with them telling tales about various dope houses and carrying knives in their socks to school. Outkast’s version of reality rap still contains multitudes, though, as they warn listeners about the inherent dangers that come with living the lives described in the song.

The real intro to the album kicks off with Big Boi warning outsides to stay strapped, while Organized Noize lives up their name with a beat that is a beautiful cacophony of sounds. No bass and booty shaking music here. Just smart reality raps. Andre spits one of the most famous bars of his career when he says, “See that rap s–t is really just like sellin’ smoke/ If you got some fly shit, yo’ n—as gonna always toke/ Dope is not what I be slangin’ on this track.” Jaz-O would sample that bit for Jay-Z’s “Rap Game/Crack Game,” from 1997’s In My Lifetime, Vol. 1. The influence of this album ran deep.
“D.E.E.P.”

Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik’s secret ingredient is Outkast’s honesty. Alongside the bragadocious bars and recycled Five Percenter ideology, they slip in a bunch of truths that make the whole exercise far more relatable and believable. Lines by Andre 3000 like “If a pair of Jordan’s came out, y’all figure that I got ’em/ But no I don’t because I don’t be havin’ funds/ The gold that I am wearin’ is really made out of bronze” show just how deep and raw they were willing to get.

Organized Noize gives Outkast possibly the smoothest beat they’d ever made up until that point. With Sleepy doing his best Curtis Mayfield impression, Outkast takes the opportunity to slow the flow down a slight bit, giving listeners a panoramic view of their world while they blow some herb.

If “Player’s Ball” didn’t get forced as a first single, this would have been it. The title track acts as a mission statement of sorts for the group, explaining and displaying everything they’re about: witty bars and nimble flows, funky production, and street smart tales about two kids who aren’t killers, but don’t push ’em.

Ciara Shares Her Weight on the Scale After Saying She Wants to Lose 70 Pounds Postpartum

Ciara is documenting her weight-loss journey on social media after welcoming baby No. 4 in December.

Shortly after revealing on Instagram that she hopes to lose 70 pounds post-birth, the 38-year-old singer shared her current weight in a candid post on Thursday (April 25).

In a carousel of photos, Ciara included a snap of her scale. On the screen, her weight is displayed as 181.4 pounds.

The post also features pics of the “Goodies” singer posing with Kendall Jenner, hanging out on a pickleball court and cuddling up with her daughter Siena, who turns 7 on Monday, and her new baby girl, Amora. Ciara shares both daughters with newly signed Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson, as well as 3-year-old son Win. The vocalist is also mom to 9-year-old son Future Zahir, whom she shares with her ex, rapper Future.

Ciara’s latest post comes about two weeks after she shared a gym selfie with followers and wrote, “Trying to lose 70lbs post baby, prepare for a show and tour while breastfeeding, and running my businesses…Shout out to all my mammas out there gettin in, I see you!”

The Ten to One Rum founder is currently gearing up to embark on her Out of This World Tour with Missy Elliott, Timbaland and Busta Rhymes. Their first show is slated for July 4 in Vancouver, followed by stops in Seattle, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Denver, Atlanta and more cities before the trek wraps Aug. 22 in Rosemont, Ill.

Since welcoming Amora in December, Ciara has been open about the struggles of new mom life. Last month, she shared a sweet video of her husband struggling not to spill a capsule of her breastmilk during a bumpy car ride, captioned, “Babe helping me … when breastfeeding is life!”

“Don’t drop the milk!” Wilson said in the clip, making his wife laugh.

This week, Billboard’s New Music Latin roundup and playlist — curated by Billboard Latin and Billboard Español editors — features fresh new releases from artists such as Belinda, Marc Anthony, Jay Wheeler and Anitta, to name a few.

Marc Anthony’s Muevense is a testament to his musical prowess. The 10-track set is home to tracks like “Ale Ale,” which he premiered last night at the Latin AMAs backed by a full band, “Si Te Enamoro,” “Amarte a la Antigua,” “Pasemos a los Besos” and “Ojalá Te Duela” with Pepe Aguilar, his only collaboration on the album.

Spanish star Aitana and Colombian hitmaker Sebastián Yatra have apparently rekindled their relationship. The pair teamed up for their third collaboration titled “Akureyri,” taking its name from a city in Iceland. The pop ballad explores an intense emotional connection between two people who are going through a difficult time; in addition to the desire to escape reality, fantasizing about a future together and forgetting the worries of the present.

Meanwhile, Mau y Ricky offer another single from their upcoming album Hotel Caracas. Titled “Gran Día” with Guaynaa, the sibling duo place all bets on an uptempo feel-good pop song with optimistic lyrics about the good and simple things in life.

Other new releases include Belinda and Natanael Cano’s corrido coquette “300 Noches,” Anitta’s highly-anticipated Funk Generation album, which comes on the heels of her upcoming first-ever North American tour, and Luis Fonsi and Laura Pausini’s reunion for “Roma.”

Benny Blanco Reveals If He & Selena Gomez Have Gone on a Double Date With Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce

Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift have been longtime BFFs, and now that they’re dating Benny Blanco and Travis Kelce, respectively, it would make sense that the group would go out on a double date.

However, it hasn’t happened yet, according to Blanco. “No we have not [double dated],” the producer told SiriusXM. “I just saw [Swift] at [Los Angeles restaurant] Sushi Park a week ago. I ran into her right before Coachella a week ago.”

The star also opened up about how he and Gomez’s romance was pleasantly unexpected. “You know how people constantly tell you ‘When you least expect it, it’s going to happen. When you’re not looking for it’? Honestly, we weren’t even — the first time we were hanging out where it was leaning towards that way, we were both talking about our love lives. Before we knew it, it just kind of happened,” he recalled.

Gomez first confirmed that she and Blanco were dating on Dec. 7, about six months into their romance. In a reply to fans on Instagram, she wrote that he “is my absolute everything in my heart” and that she is at her “happiest” in the relationship.

The singer and actress soon made their relationship fully Instagram official by giving a spot on her main feed to photos with Blanco, including one in which he hugs her among friends, and one in which she leans back to kiss him.

The couple went on the spend New Year’s Eve together, with the Only Murders in the Building actress sharing a photo to her Instagram Stories, in which Blanco has his arms wrapped around Gomez and seems to be giving her a kiss.

Anitta, Funk Generation (Republic Records & Universal Music Latin Entertainment)

No one does funk like Anitta. Singing in Spanish, Portuguese and English, the trilingual superstar doubles down on her efforts to globalize Brazilian funk with Funk Generation. The enthralling 15-track set (her third trilingual album) is a masterclass, as Anitta serves cheeky, club-ready dance songs that will have you grasping for air — a nod to her set opener “Lose Ya Breath.” A fierce proponent of funk, Anitta has no intentions of adapting this music to mainstream or pop, she does quite the opposite introducing mainstream to a genre that breaks all the rules and thrives on experimentation. For collabs, she casts a wide net that catches artists including Brray, Bad Gyal, DENNIS, PEDRO SAMPAIO and Sam Smith.

Marc Anthony, Muevense (Sony Music US Latin)

If anyone knows how to craft tropical anthemic hits, it’s Marc Anthony, and his latest album Muevense testifies to this. Its title, in fact, is designed to make listeners move to the festive rhythms. Renowned for revitalizing salsa music in New York City and well beyond, the Grammy-winning performer shines all on his own in this 10-track release, with the exception of the ranchera single “Ojalá Te Duela,” which features regional Mexican music royalty Pepe Aguilar. From the invigorating opener to the infectious energy of “Ale Ale” — which already has the makings of a summer 2024 anthem, following its debut at the Latin American Music Awards — and other songs like like “Si Te Enamoro,” “Amarte a la Antigua,” and “Pasemos a los Besos,” the artist showcases his vocal prowess, allowing his pipes to soar unlike any other.

Aitana & Sebastian Yatra “Akureyri” (Universal Music Spain S.L.)

Aitana and Sebastián Yatra return to music together, and apparently also as a couple, with their third collaboration “Akureyri”. The moving pop ballad, which would address their reconciliation months after confirming their breakup, talks about an intense emotional connection between two people who are going through a difficult time; in addition to the desire to escape reality, they are fantasizing about a future together and forgetting the worries of the present. The cover of the release is reminiscent of the Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which is about a couple who undergo a procedure to erase the memories of their relationship. The video, directed by Felíx Bollaín and produced by Habemus Roma, was recorded in analog in the city that titles the song, Akureyri, in Iceland. Additionally, it includes various clips of the couple during their trip to the location last year in the post-credits scenes. — LUISA CALLE

Mau y Ricky, Guaynaa, “Gran Día” (Why Club Records)

Mau y Ricky are pure sunshine in “Gran Día,” featuring Puerto Rican artist Guaynaa, an uptempo feel-good pop song with optimistic lyrics about the good and simple things in life. “Today is going to be a great day because I’m going to kill it/ Money guaranteed, baby, today is going to rain, no, no, no, no/ If you run out of battery, I want to give you a new one/ A life from another league, I’m hotter than yesterday,” they sing.

Released under their new independent label Why Club Records in collaboration with Warner Music Latina, “Gran Día” is the latest single off their upcoming album Hotel Caracas, an homage to their native Venezuela, where the brothers recently returned in search of their identity after moving with their family to the U.S. when they were children. The music video, beautifully shot by director Daniel Durán, was filmed in the Venezuelan Llanos during their trip, and features the humorous voice of Venezuelan iconic radio host Luis Chataing. — SIGAL RATNER-ARIAS

Luis Fonsi & Laura Pausini “Roma” (UMG Recordings)

Luis Fonsi makes an essential stop in his new album El Viaje’s journey to reunite musically with a special friend, after 16 years of collaboration. His longtime friend and collaborator Laura Pausini arrives to unite her powerful voice with Fonsi’s in the magical collab “Roma.” This beautiful ballad, written by Fonsi, along with producers Andrés Torres and Mauricio Rengifo, was announced during one of Laura’s world tour concerts in Miami last month. This single is accompanied by a video filmed in black and white at an airport, directed by Carlos Perez, and portrays the reunion of an eternal love, like those couples who always find a way to meet again. — INGRID FAJARDO

Belinda & Natanael Cano, “300 Noches” (Warner Music México)

Belinda’s corridos tumbados era gets a co-sign from the subgenre’s pioneer, Natanael Cano. The two team up for “300 Noches,” Belinda’s latest single, which cements her commitment to música Mexicana. The track is striking both lyrically and sonically: It starts off with a soft piano tune and Belinda’s evocative delivery, setting the tone for this truly heartbreaking song. “I waited so long for you to realize you had left me behind/ What do I do now to forget?” she sings, almost wailing.

Then, the requinto guitars take center stage, transforming the ballad into a corrido tumbado, or a corrido coquette (a term coined by Belinda). Doesn’t take long for Cano to join Belinda, as he sings with sorrow about not being able to move on from a broken relationship, while clearly the other person already has. “I can’t be a king without my queen,” he declares. “I loved being able to collaborate with Beli for this song,” Cano says in a statement. “I’m a fan of hers and I’m excited to see more female artists raising the flag of corridos tumbados. Belinda put her ‘coquette’ touch on it and it was magical.” — G.F.

Bruses & Humbe, “Bestia”

Tijuana poetess/producer Bruses and Monterrey singer-songwriter Humbe join forces to unveil a nuanced blend of electro alt-pop that delves into the intricacies of battling one’s inner demons while embracing a glimmer of hope. The pair confront delicate subjects, merging complex elements with finesse. With lines like “They speak ill of you, my monsters/ They want to meet you/ I look for love in places where no one can see me/ Kiss kiss in the dark,” Bruses delivers her verses with a captivating blend of vulnerability and serene defiance.

“‘Bestia’ is a song where Humbe and I found each other,” she says in a statement. “His light and my darkness complemented in a way that I never heard before.” Bruises recently signed with RCA, and will be performing at the Central Park’s SummerStage in celebration of the LAMC for their 25th anniversary on July 10th. — I.R.
