Kylie Minogue is back, and she’s turning up the heat with her brand-new single, “Lights Camera Action,” released today (Sept. 27).
The track is the first single from her highly anticipated upcoming album Tension II, out Oct. 18, via Mushroom Music.
“Lights Camera Action” sees the Australian pop legend dive deeper into the electronic world, continuing the nightclub-inspired sound that made her last album Tension a global hit.
Produced by Lewis Thompson and co-written by Kylie, Thompson, and Ina Wroldsen (the co-writer behind her previous hit, “Padam Padam“), the single is packed with high-energy beats fit for the dance floor.

The track serves as a celebration of all things glamorous, with the accompanying music video—directed by Sophie Muller and shot in Budapest—seeing the pop queen take on multiple iconic roles, from a film star to a photographer. Kylie’s upcoming album, Tension II, is shaping up to be a powerhouse sequel to her previous album, with collaborations featuring The Blessed Madonna, Orville Peck, Bebe Rexha, Tove Lo, and Sia.

Country superstar Luke Bryan has officially dropped his eighth studio album Mind of a Country Boy, available everywhere today, Sept. 27.
The new release marks Bryan’s return to the album circuit after four years, and fans can expect a collection of 14 tracks that dive deep into the themes of family, music, and the simple country life Bryan embodies.
Reuniting with longtime producers Jeff and Jody Stevens, Mind of a Country Boy offers a mix of reflective ballads and feel-good anthems.

“I’ve been able to take my time and really compile songs for this album,” Bryan previously said in a statement.
“If it’s a song that I cut two or three years ago, and I still love it, and it still sounds fresh, then I feel like it’ll stand the test of time.
“I think this album, as I’ve tried to do with all my albums, just has a little bit of everything,” he continued. “I do some things different vocally on this one that I’ve not done before. It’s about each song having its place and having its meaning. It’s trying not to be overly redundant with songs. I think that’s why I’ve been blessed to have a long career and what I feel like this album’s going to do.”
In addition to his headlining shows and his Farm Tour, Bryan is set to continue his role as an American Idol judge (alongside incoming judge, fellow country artist Carrie Underwood), while his Crash My Playa destination concert in Mexico will celebrate its 10th year in 2025 with performances from Jason Aldean, Kane Brown and more.

Morgan Wallen was the top winner at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards (PCCAs), which aired live on Thursday (Sept. 26) across NBC and Peacock from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.
Wallen won a total of four awards. He was named The People’s Artist for the second year in a row and he also took The Concert Tour for the second year in a row with his long-running One Night at a Time tour. He also won the Social Country Star of 2024 and The Song of 2024 for his featured role on Post Malone’s “I Had Some Help.”
For Wallen, this makes up for last year when he was unexpectedly nosed out as the night’s top winner on the inaugural PCCAs. He won three awards then to Jelly Roll’s four. (That was one of the first indications of the extent of Jelly Roll’s popularity.)

Beyoncé, who was one of this year’s leading nominees, was shut out. Bey was also shut out in the recently announced Country Music Association nominations. Country awards shows seem to prefer to reward artists who are in it for the long haul, rather than giving their prizes to artists, however talented and versatile, who are seen as just visiting the genre.
Luke Combs took three awards – The Album of 2024 for Fathers & Son and the Male Artist of 2024 and The Male Song of 2024 for “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma,” his hit from Twisters: The Album. (At the rate it’s going, the song, which he co-wrote with Jessi Alexander and Jonathan Singleton, could be an Oscar contender for best original song.)
Shaboozey and MGK each won two awards.
Shaboozey won The New Artist of 2024. Jelly Roll won in that category last year. He went on to win the CMA Award for new artist of the year and to land a Grammy nomination for best new artist. Shaboozey has a good chance to equal those feats.
Shaboozey also won The New Artist Song of 2024 for his megahit “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” which is now in its 11th week at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100. (Here it must be said that the PCCA has too many categories, and too many similar-sounding categories. It’s confusing. They should consider streamlining their awards structure.)
Among the artists Shaboozey beat in both new artist categories was Dasha, who later won The Female Song award for “Austin (Boots Stop Workin’).” The song was a big crossover hit – it reached No. 3 on Hot Country Songs and No. 18 on the Hot 100. Still, it beat heavy competition to win that award, including songs by Wilson, Miranda Lambert and Kacey Musgraves and two songs by Beyoncé (which may have split Bey’s vote).
“Lonely Road” by MGK featuring Jelly Roll won the crossover song award. The hit interpolates John Denver’s 1971 classic “Take Me Home, Country Roads.” MGK’s “Sun to Me,” written by Zach Bryan, won as The Cover Song of 2024.
Lainey Wilson took the award for The Female Artist for the second year in a row. Dan + Shay won The Group/Duo award, also for the second year in a row. But Old Dominion’s “Different About You” won the Group/Duo Song award, beating Dan + Shay’s “For the Both of Us.” (See what we mean about too many similar-sounding categories?)
Shania Twain hosted the show. The crossover star was nominated for The Concert Tour of 2024 for Shania Twain: Come on Over – The Las Vegas Residency – All the Hits!, but lost to Wallen.
Winners are chosen entirely by the fans, leading the show to bill itself as “an award show for the people and by the people.” The eligibility period for this year’s show was Aug. 12, 2023, to Aug. 9, 2024.
The People’s Choice Country Awards were produced by Den of Thieves. Jesse Ignjatovic, Evan Prager and Barb Bialkowski executive produced, along with RAC Clark as executive producer and showrunner.

BOYNEXTDOOR achieves its third consecutive top 10 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart, as the act’s latest release, 19.99, arrives at No. 4. The set sold 16,500 copies in the U.S. in the week ending Sept. 19, according to Luminate. With the debut, the act nets its highest charting album and best sales week.
Also in the top 10 of the latest Top Album Sales chart, Travis Scott’s Days Before Rodeo rallies 25-1 after its vinyl editions were shipped to customers, Eminem’s The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) re-enters at No. 2 after its deluxe reissue and CD release, Miranda Lambert’s Postcards From Texas opens at No. 3, keshi’s Requiem arrives at No. 7, Jack White’s No Name re-enters at No. 8 after its wide physical release, and the Hazbin Hotel, Season One soundtrack debuts at No. 10 after its vinyl release.
Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart ranks the top-selling albums of the week based only on traditional album sales. The chart’s history dates back to May 25, 1991, the first week Billboard began tabulating charts with electronically monitored piece count information from SoundScan, now Luminate. Pure album sales were the sole measurement utilized by the Billboard 200 albums chart through the list dated Dec. 6, 2014, after which that chart switched to a methodology that blends album sales with track equivalent album units and streaming equivalent album units. Of the 16,500 copies sold of 19.99 in its first week, physical album sales comprise nearly all of that sum – and all on CD. Its sales were bolstered by the album’s availability across more than 15 collectible CD editions, all containing collectible branded paper ephemera.
Travis Scott’s 2014 mixtape Days Before Rodeo rallies 25-1 in its fourth week on the list, for its second week on top. (It debuted atop the list.) The album sold 150,000 copies in the tracking week (up 4,608%) after its vinyl editions – exclusively sold through Scott’s webstore – shipped to customers. Vinyl sales comprise 149,000 of that sales figure – Scott’s largest week on vinyl ever. It’s also the biggest week on vinyl for a rap album, as well as the sixth-largest week on vinyl across all genres, since Luminate began tracking sales in 1991.
The vinyl sales pushing Scott to No. 1 began generating pre-orders via his official webstore before the album was released on Aug. 23 via streamers, as a digital download and on CD. It was available in two vinyl variants (a standard edition and a deluxe edition in expanded packaging), as well as two boxed sets (one containing a hoodie and the standard vinyl and one with a T-shirt and the deluxe vinyl), and in two Fan Pack offers (one with a hoodie and the standard vinyl and one with a T-shirt and the deluxe vinyl).
A wide retail release beyond Scott’s webstore for any physical formats of the album has not been announced.
Eminem’s The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) re-enters the chart at No. 2 (matching its debut and peak), following its deluxe reissue and CD release. The album was reissued via digital download services on Sept. 13 with bonus tracks, while on the same day its original standard album was issued in two CD variants. It sold 24,000 (up 3,328%) across all of its configurations (all versions are combined for tracking and charting purposes).
Miranda Lambert logs her ninth top 10, all tallied consecutively, as her new studio album Postcards From Texas, taps in at No. 3 with 19,000 sold. Its first week sales were aided by the set’s availability across four vinyl variants (including a signed edition), three CD editions (including a signed version) and a download album.
Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet is steady at No. 5 on Top Album Sales (14,500; down 6%) while Chappell Roan’s The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess rises 7-6 (13,000; up 25%).
Requiem, from keshi, debuts at No. 7 with nearly 10,500 sold, marking the second top 10-charting effort for the artist. The album’s sales were bolstered by its availability across six vinyl variants (including a signed edition) and a signed CD edition.
Jack White’s No Name returns to the top 10, re-entering the chart at No. 8 (matching its debut and peak position), following its wide vinyl release on Sept. 13. The album sold a little more than 10,000 copies in the tracking week ending Sept. 19 – its best sales week yet – earning a 695% gain over the previous week.
Stray Kids’ chart-topping ATE is a non-mover at No. 9 on Top Album Sales, with nearly 9,000 sold (up 8%).
Rounding out the top 10 is the debut of the Hazbin Hotel, Season One soundtrack, entering at No. 10 with 8,500 sold. Nearly all of that sum is from vinyl sales, as the album made its vinyl debut on Sept. 13 after only being available to purchase as a digital download.
