Dressed in a patterned blue and red mini-dress, Clarkson effortlessly belted the range of notes while backed by her singers and instrumentalists, lovingly called My Band Y’all. “All the kids in the marketplace say/ Walk like an Egyptian,” she sang in the chorus.

“Walk Like an Egyptian” was The Bangles’ first Hot 100 chart-topper, and spent four weeks at the summit before it was named Billboard‘s top song of 1987.

It’s gearing up to be an exciting end of the year for Clarkson, who is set to return for her second year as host of NBC’s annual Christmas in Rockefeller Center telecast on Dec. 4. Besides hosting, Clarkson is also set to perform some festive hits at the tree-lighting ceremony. The three-time Grammy winner will have a host of holiday tracks to choose from for her performance, including beloved holiday classics and originals from her two Christmas albums: 2013’s Wrapped in Red and 2021’s When Christmas Comes Around… Additional performers for the special will be announced at a later date.

Ice Cube Wanted Dr. Dre to Produce His Debut Album, But ‘Eazy & Jerry Vetoed It’

According to a new interview, Ice Cube still wanted to be cool with his friends in N.W.A after he left the legendary group in 1989 and even wanted Dr. Dre to produce his debut album AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted.

Cube sat down with Complex’s Idea Generation and spoke on how he tried to keep his business relationship with the group separate from his personal relationship with them. “I still tried to be friends with the guys who had nothing to do with the business,” he admitted. “Me and Eazy was shaky, and I didn’t care about [manager] Jerry Heller at all, so it wasn’t no love lost there. But I tried to keep it together with Dre. I even wanted Dre to produce my solo record, and we was talking about it, but Eazy and Jerry vetoed it.”

Instead, the West Coast rapper tapped Public Enemy’s in-house production team The Bomb Squad to produce his 1990 solo debut and eventually dropped one of the most scathing diss tracks of all time, “No Vaseline,” a year later in 1991, in which he tore into his former group and Ruthless Records co-founder Heller.

Cube and the group would eventually reconcile around the time of Eazy-E’s untimely death from AIDS complications in 1995. On Tuesday (Nov. 12), the Songwriters Hall of Fame announced N.W.A among 26 nominees up to be inducted next year.

Ice Cube is set to drop his 11th solo album Man Down, later this month on Nov. 22, and he’s going to get some help from fellow West Coast legends in Snoop Dogg, Too $hortE-40, XzibitB-Real and Kurupt.

‘Next-Generation’ K-Pop Group AtHeart Introduces 3 New Members Alongside Personal Social Accounts

Following Billboard’s exclusive announcement of TITAN CONTENT’s “next-generation” K-pop act this summer, three new members of the highly anticipated girl group AtHeart have arrived for fans to get to know.

Meet Seohyeon, 16, from Korea, Katelyn, 17, from the Philippines, and Aurora, 15, from Japan, who join the previously introduced members Sorin and Michi, helping create a diverse ensemble poised for global appeal. The five future stars join AtHeart, which TITAN says will reveal their full lineup soon before debuting in early 2025.

With talent handpicked from global auditions this past January, TITAN emphasizes members’ personalities and musical abilities while allowing fans to familiarize themselves with each member via individual social media accounts — a rarity for K-pop artists in training. @seohyeonatheart, @katelynatheart, and @auroraatheart all launched today on Instagram and TikTok.

“Over the past year, the TITAN team has seen remarkable growth, assembling an all-star group of experts across various fields,” Dom Rodriguez, CBO at TITAN CONTENT, tells Billboard. “Our commitment to delivering exceptional music, creating a new paradigm for K-pop on the global stage, and pushing the boundaries of innovation remains stronger than ever. We’re thrilled about the incredible talent of the AtHeart members and are excited to show the world what they have been working on, so stay tuned!”

In a press statement, TITAN CONTENT CEO Katie Kang highlighted the new group members’ skills and teased AtHeart’s upcoming full lineup announcement.

“We are confident that AtHeart will lead the way into a new era of K-pop,” the former SM Entertainment manager and casting recruiter said. “Seohyun stands out with her captivating vocal tone and diverse range of exceptional talents. Katelyn was cast at the Manila global audition and has vibrant energy and a bright smile that brings joy to those around her, along with her singing and rapping abilities. Aurora, with her enchanting brown eyes, is full of bright, positive, and loving energy, just as her name suggests, and incredible vocal and dance skills…the full lineup is now complete, and we’ve been gradually unveiling the members since July with the remaining members to be announced very soon.”

TITAN’s Chief Visual Officer, Guiom Lee, says the newly revealed Second Heart of AtHeart” concept video hints at the group’s style, sound, and potential number of members, noting the “visual and playful elements that are distinct from the first concept video. And speculating about how many members will be in the group adds another layer of excitement.”

Backed by former SM Entertainment CEO Nikki Semin Han alongside a creative team of international K-pop movers and shakers, TITAN CONTENT has positioned itself as the first major U.S.-based K-pop agency, aiming to introduce multiple groups and several solo acts by 2028. AtHeart’s 2025 launch kicks off a powerful new chapter for both TITAN and the global K-pop industry.

16-Year-Old ‘American Idol’ Singer Triston Harper Expecting Baby With Wife Paris Reed

American Idol alum Triston Harper is living his American dream with wife Paris Reed, who is pregnant with the couple’s first baby together.

Hattie M. Sullivan, the mom of the 16-year-old aspiring singer, announced the news in a Facebook post just two days after Harper changed his relationship status on the site to reflect his nuptials to his 17-year-old partner Reed. “Now Everybody has congratulated me on Triston and Paris getting married but to me that is old news,” Sullivan wrote, sharing a photo of her son holding up a positive pregnancy test as Reed smiles next to him.

“Now I’m bout to be a ‘G Ma,’” she added.

The news comes a few months after Harper was eliminated from season 22 of Idol in May. He made it as far as the top five on the show — which ended that same month with 21-year-old Abi Carter as the ultimate winner — and at one point wowed the judges with a performance of Blake Shelton’s “God’s Country.”

At the time, guest mentor Jelly Roll raved about the young performer. “He walked in with the spirit of a 75-year-old man that had been through a lifetime of pain,” the “Son of a Sinner” singer told Billboard in April. “Just wise beyond his years, with that deep Southern drawl. He has you eating out of the palm of his hand the first two seconds you talk to him, and the coolest part is he has no clue that he’s charming.

“It’s just naturally kind of who he is and then for him to be so moved by me was really cool,” Jelly added of Harper.

Since his time on the show ended, Harper has been sharing videos of himself performing songs on guitar for his Instagram followers. In August, he celebrated Reed on National Girlfriend Day by sharing a photo of them smiling together, writing, “I love you so much @reedgirl.101. There may be a 1 in a million kind of girl, but your my 1 in a lifetime time kind of woman.”

GloRilla Says She’s Single & Celibate ‘Until God Sends Me My Husband’

GloRilla knows exactly how she wanna be from now until the day she gets married.

In a tweet posted over the weekend, the 25-year-old rapper revealed she is currently single — but she isn’t necessarily ready to mingle. “Single & celibate until God send me my husband,” she wrote alongside hug and heart-hands emojis.

The Memphis musician previously sparked dating rumors with NBA star and fellow rapper Damian Lillard, aka Dame D.O.L.L.A. It all started when Glo professed her interest in the Milwaukee Bucks player shortly after meeting him during All-Star Weekend in February, tweeting, “Who n—a dis is? Cause I want him #GetEmGlo … Whoever she is can’t whoop me so I really dgaf.”

In October, however, Lillard downplayed the rumors. “I’m weak,” he said during a Bucks media day. “That is hilarious. Nah, I keep my personal life personal, you know? And I let it be that. I respect her as an artist. We know each other — she’s an artist, I’m an artist. But as far as anything else, it ain’t nothing going on. That’s what I can tell you.”

Glo is currently fresh off the release of her debut album Glorious, which dropped Oct. 11 and features collaborations with Megan Thee Stallion, Latto, Sexyy Red, Kirk Franklin, T-Pain and more. The 14-track set debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and includes the Billboard Hot 100 hit “TGIF,” which has so far peaked at No. 22.

Ironically, the “Tomorrow 2” artist’s tweet about celibacy comes shortly after she trolled fans by faking a pregnancy on social media. In late October, she shared photos of her wearing a fake baby bump and cradling her stomach as if she were expecting a baby, under which her friends immediately called her out on the joke: “Gloria, gone on,” Latto commented, while Muni Long added, “You play!”

Doja Cat Seemingly Dropped the Track List for Her Next Album & Fans Are Loving It

Is a new Doja Cat album on the way? A mysterious tweet is making fans think so!

The Grammy-winning star took to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday evening (Nov. 11) to post and quickly delete what appears to be a track list. According to fans who took screenshots of the posts, the 13 songs include titles like “Break My Heart,” “Take Me Dancing,” “Anything,” “Ain’t News,” “Turn the Lights On,” “Slow Burn,” “Wood Holly” and “Appreciation.”

After deleting the track list, she sent out a series of cryptic tweets, including “ma vie mi vida mia vita” and “5 love languages.” Finally, she noted, “Songs are in no particular order. Starred my favorites.” The post is seemingly in reference to the song titles that were starred in the original deleted post, which included the tracks “Cards,” “Acts of Service,” “Make It Up,” “Did I Lie” and “Crack.”

She also shared a photo dump to Instagram captioned, “red 5,” potentially in reference to the upcoming fifth studio album. Among the pictures is a snap of her new foot tattoo, “Red” written in red ink.

Doja Cat’s last album Scarlet followed 2021’s hit-spawning Planet Her. The project was released in September 2023 and reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and hit No. 2 on the Top Rap Albums chart. She also dropped Scarlet 2 CLAUDE deluxe edition in May.

Billboard has reached out to Doja’s reps to confirm if the track list is for her fifth studio album, but fans on social media are already buzzing with excitement at the possibility of new music. See below for some of the best fan reactions.

Mariah Carey Reveals Her Most ‘Underrated’ Song & Says Olivia Rodrigo Collab ‘Could Be Fun’

Mariah Carey thinks that she and Olivia Rodrigo might belong together.

In a new interview with BuzzFeed, the legendary vocalist played with puppies while answering questions about her forthcoming music, her most underrated song and wanting to get in the studio with the 21-year-old pop star — something she says “could be fun.”

When asked which artist she’d most like to work with in the video posted Tuesday (Nov. 12), Carey began, “I think it could be fun to collaborate with Olivia Rodrigo.”

“My daughter is a really big fan, and we went to her concert — that was great,” the Songbird Supreme said. “But I know she’s not working for the rest of the year. That’s what I heard.”

Trending on Billboard

The interview comes nearly four months after Carey and her twins — Moroccan and Monroe — went to see Rodrigo’s Guts World Tour concert in Atlanta. Backstage, the “Vampire” singer met with the family and gifted Monroe with a signed T-shirt reading, “Roe, all my love!”

Afterward, Carey posted photos from the meet-up and wrote, “We are OBSESSED with @oliviarodrigo” — a reference to both musicians’ hit songs of the same name. Rodrigo commented, “ur the absolute greatest!!! thank u sm for coming.”

Elsewhere in the BuzzFeed interview, Carey revealed which of her own tracks she thinks is the most underrated: “Probably this song called ‘Clown’ from Charmbracelet,” she said. “Just because, not everybody knows it, and I like that song. I think it’s clever and pretty.”

To the superstar’s point, “Clown” never charted on the Billboard Hot 100 — unlike 49 of her other tracks, 19 of which have hit No. 1 on the chart. Charmbracelet, Carey’s ninth studio album, reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200.

Carey hasn’t released a proper studio album since 2018’s Caution. However — in addition to kicking off her holiday tour in California Nov. 6 — the singer has confirmed that she’s working on new music, which she also touched on in the new interview. “I’m working on some new music, and I’m vey excited about it,” she said. “Now I just gotta get the time to do it.”
