The “Feel No Wayz (Yeat Mix)” cover art features a text from Drake, who’s stored in his contacts as The Boy. “YOUNG TWIZZZZZZZZY FEEL A WAY,” he wrote while seemingly lending his stamp of approval to YEAT’s rendition.

Billboards teasing the cover popped up around Toronto earlier this week before its eventual arrival on Friday. YEAT keeps the lyrics from the somber VIEWS track mixing R&B, pop and lofi, but instead opts for a more AutoTuned approach on the production side to refresh the nearly decade-old song.

Fans appreciated the “Feel No Ways” cover as part of YEAT’s set at Coachella, but an early leak of the recorded version drew skeptics. However, the official cover that landed on DSPs seems to have a much cleaner mix.

“Sounds so much better than the snippet,” one fan commented on the official visualizer for the track.

Drake and YEAT have been fans of one another for years now. The duo teamed up in 2023 on For All the Dogs‘ “IDGAF,” which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, and reunited on “As We Speak” in 2024.

YEAT has been busy in 2025 as he also released his anticipated “The Bell” single in April. He also joined Anyma for “Work.” Anyma helped YEAT make history when he brought him out during his show at the Las Vegas Sphere, making the Oregon native the first rapper to perform at the Sphere.

TOMORROW X TOGETHER Want You to Share Your ‘Love Language’ on New Song & Music Video

The members of TOMORROW X TOGETHER sing in both English and Korean, but the dialect they’re most concerned with right now is the language of love.

On Friday (May 2), the K-pop boy band dropped a new single titled “Love Language,” featuring SOOBIN, YEONJUN, BEOMGYU, TAEHYUN and HUENINGKAI trying to woo a love interest with romantic one-liners sung over a danceable, Afro house-inspired beat. In a summery music video that arrived alongside the song, the guys lounge by the pool in deck chairs, do canon balls into the water and show off some of their signature choreography in a grassy area with a picnic table nearby.

“Baby, just tell me, I can’t read your mind/ What’s your love language?” they plead in the song’s lyrics, which were co-written by HUENINGKAI. “Teach me all about your love language.”

The new track comes just a few weeks after TXT dropped “Rise” in early April. The band last released an EP in November 2024, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart and reaching No. 2 on the Billboard 200 (a ranking the group previously topped with The Name Chapter: Temptation in 2023).

Later that month, the band appeared at the 2024 MAMA Awards, where TXT was honored as the Ponta Pass Global Favorite Artist. The group also performed during the show, with TAEHYUN telling Billboard on the red carpet beforehand, “We can show unforeseen sides of TOMORROW X TOGETHER, so it’s truly an enthralling opportunity [to perform].”

Lil Durk Murder-for-Hire Case: Feds Delete All Reference to Rapper’s Lyrics In New Indictment

Federal prosecutors have unveiled a new indictment against Lil Durk in his murder-for-hire case — only this time, they’ve dropped all reference to lyrics that the star’s lawyers had claimed were being unfairly weaponized against him.

The new “superseding” indictment, released Friday (May 2), came six months after prosecutors first charged the Chicago drill star (Durk Banks) with murder-for-hire, accusing him of ordering members of his Only the Family (OTF) crew to carry out a 2022 attack on rival rapper Quando Rondo that left another man dead.

Though it added a new charge of stalking, Friday’s new indictment is most notable for what it removed: Any mention of Durk’s lyrics. Last month, his lawyers argued that the cited song was clearly unrelated to the shooting and had been unfairly used against him; in a social media post Wednesday (April 30), Durk’s family said he was the latest rapper to be “criminalized for their creativity.”

Trending on Billboard

In separate court filings on Friday, prosecutors acknowledged removing Durk’s lyrics from the new indictment, but said the move would not weaken the case against him.

“Defendant Banks has presented a false narrative that he is being prosecuted and detained because of his violent lyrics. This claim is, and has always been, baseless,” prosecutors write. “Just like every iteration of the indictment before it, the [new indictment] contains significant allegations that show defendant’s alleged role in the execution-style murder of [the victim] on a busy street corner in Los Angeles.”

Durk’s attorney, Drew Findling, filed his own response to the new indictment in court Friday, arguing that “it appears that the government has conceded” the “hotly contested” dispute over the lyrics. He also noted that prosecutors had deleted another passage from the indictment that directly accused one of Durk’s co-defendants of paying a bounty at Durk’s direction.

A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles declined to comment on the new indictment. Findling did not immediately return a request for comment.

Durk was arrested in October on murder-for-hire and gun charges related to the September 2022 shooting at a Los Angeles gas station, which left Rondo (Tyquian Bowman) unscathed but saw his friend Lul Pab (Saviay’a Robinson) killed in the crossfire.

In court filings, prosecutors have argued that Durk’s OTF crew was not merely a well-publicized group of Chicago rappers, but a “hybrid organization” that also functioned as a criminal gang to carry out violent acts at his behest. One of them was the Rondo attack, the feds say, allegedly carried out in retaliation for the 2020 killing of rapper King Von (Dayvon Bennett), a close friend of Durk’s.

To back up that claim, prosecutors quoted lyrics from a song called “Wonderful Wayne & Jackie Boy” that allegedly referenced the shooting. They claimed Durk “sought to commercialize” Lul Pub’s death by “rapping about his revenge” on Rondo: “Told me they got an addy (go, go)/ Got location (go, go)/ Green light (go, go, go, go, go),” Durk raps in the track. “Look on the news and see your son/You screamin’, “No, no” (pu–y).”

The use of rap music as evidence in criminal cases is controversial, as critics argue it threatens free speech and can sway juries by tapping into racial biases. Over the past few years, the practice has drawn backlash from the music industry and led to efforts by lawmakers to stop it. But it has continued largely unabated, most notably in the recent criminal case against Young Thug in Atlanta.

Last month, Durk’s lawyers sharply pushed back — arguing that “Wonderful Wayne” could not have referenced the Rondo shooting because the rapper wrote and recorded his verses “seven months before the incident even happened.” Mockingly asking if the government was prosecuting Durk “on a theory of extra-sensory prescience,” the star’s lawyers called the lyric allegations “false evidence” that had been unfairly used to indict him and to deny him pre-trial release.

Ahead of Friday’s new indictment that dropped the lyrics, prosecutors had strongly defended their use of Durk’s music. In a court filing earlier this week, the feds said he was not being prosecuted “because of his lyrics,” but suggested they might still be cited as evidence in the case.

“Defendant has repeatedly used his pulpit as a voice of violence, publicly rapped about paying for murders, hunting opponents with machineguns, ‘bounty hunters’ in Beverly Hills — and other lyrics that have a striking similarity to the modus operandi used to kill S.R.,” the government wrote. “It’s true that words have power, and that defendant’s words about ‘green lighting’ violence and placing bounties may be admissions of criminal conduct. That is for a jury to decide.”

Katy Perry Laughs Off a Headline from ‘The Onion’ Poking Fun at Recent Backlash

Katy Perry proved she was in on the joke after The Onion took to social media on Thursday (May 1) to riff about the criticism the pop star has received as of late.

The exchange started when the satirical news site posted a photo of the singer with the headline, “Katy Perry Teases New Single ‘Stop Making Fun of Me.’” The caption to the post continued to poke fun at the star, attributing a made-up quote to her saying, “‘Working with Dr. Luke on my fav single in years—this is for the ladies out there who can’t catch a goddamn break even though they’re seriously trying their best.’”

The post also contained a sampling of lyrics to the fake song, with the caption concluding, “‘I’m not messing around anymore/ You’re killing my self-esteem with these cruel comments/ And it really hurts’ can be heard over a pounding four-on-the-floor beat.”

Trending on Billboard

The “I’m His, He’s Mine” singer took The Onion‘s post in stride, and even added to the gag by chiding, “This photo is clearly photoshopped I would never let my Botox go that long, do better The Onion!” in the comments.

The singer’s loyal Katy Cats also flocked to the comments section to defend their queen, with one writing, “CAME HERE CAUSE KATY’S COMMENT ENDING THIS FLOP ACCOUNT.” Another clapped back, “Katy Perry hate is so forced” while a third wrote, “She’s a queen after all.”

Perry has withstood multiple waves of backlash in recent months for, as The Onion‘s post implies, reuniting with Dr. Luke on her latest album 143, as well as her high-profile trip to space in April as part of the Blue Origin mission.

During the 11-minute space flight, Perry unveiled the setlist for her Lifetimes Tour live from zero gravity — giving the internet further fodder to turn into memes, gifs and running jokes.

Others in The Onion’s comment section couldn’t help but keep the bit going. “New single titled ‘girls just need space’ released with a music video featuring astronaut recently stuck in space for 9 months. Receives immediate backlash,” one Instagram user joked. “Involuntarily added to your playlists over on amazon music,” quipped another.

Tyla Reveals the Release Date for Her New Single ‘Bliss’

Tyla revealed on Friday (May 2) that she will release her new “Bliss” single next Friday, May 9.

She posted a promo photo on Instagram that features the “Water” hitmaker crouched in the fetal position with sand crystals covering her glistening skin, which feels reminiscent of the gritty sand-sculpted Balmain gown she wore during her Met Gala debut last year. She joins André 3000, Janelle Monáe, Usher and more dignitaries as a part of the host committee for this year’s gala, which is happening on Monday, May 5. The theme is Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.

“Bliss” is Tyla’s first solo single since she released her self-titled debut album and its deluxe edition, which reached No. 8 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and No. 24 on the Billboard 200. Last month, she hopped on the remix of fellow South African artist WizTheMc’s “Show Me Love,” which hit No. 11 on Billboard Global Excl. US this week (chart dated May 3). Tyla brought out WizTheMc to perform “Show Me Love” during her Coachella set last month, where she also gave fans a preview of “Bliss.” The song’s title is also the name of her Erewhon smoothie, with proceeds benefiting the South African non-profit 18twenty8.

Tyla revealed during her Billboard Women in Music interview that she will be dropping a new album later this year. “I don’t think it’s going to be the same energy [as Tyla] at all, especially with what I’ve started making. It’s different, but also still Tyla,” said the singer, who won the Impact award.

“El Clásico is a moment that the entire world follows closely,” Travis — known for Hot 100 No. 1 hits “Sicko Mode,” “Highest in the Room” and “4×4” — said in a statement. “Collaborating with Spotify and FC Barcelona allows me to merge my universe with theirs. It wasn’t just about putting Cactus Jack on a jersey, but about building something that blurs the lines between sound and sport.”

“The logo change on the jersey for El Clásico is the clearest example of how the partnership between Spotify and FC Barcelona can spark conversations that go beyond sports,” added Joan Laporta, president of FC Barcelona. “It reflects the club’s desire to connect with our fans in a new way and brings us closer to new audiences around the world, allowing us to share who we are and what we stand for.”

The artist born Jacques Bermon Webster II follows other artists who have released their own special Barcelona jerseys, including Karol G, Rosalía, Coldplay, The Rolling Stones and Drake.

Scott, however, is the first artist to perform in Barcelona as part of the collaboration. The concert, set to take place before El Clásico on May 10, will be invite-only and be accessible only to the city’s most loyal listeners.

“What we’re doing is offering artists an unparalleled stage. This collaboration with Travis Scott, alongside FC Barcelona, is our most ambitious project to date,” said Marc Hazan, vice president of partnerships and marketing at Spotify, in a statement. “A global icon creating collaboratively with us around the world’s biggest match and performing live for his fans in Barcelona — that’s the power we’re unlocking. It’s a true expression of what drives Spotify and FC Barcelona.”

In celebration of the club’s founding year, 1,899 Travis Scott-Barcelona jerseys will go on sale on May 2 at official Barça stores in Spain and online, and will later be available on Scott’s website on May 9.

Watch Flavor Flav Hilariously Photobomb Green Day’s Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony

Flavor Flav added a dose of good-spirited chaos to Green Day‘s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony on Thursday (May 1).

The rapper was on hand to help celebrate the punk rock trio receiving their much deserved star on the famous Tinseltown walkway along with the likes of Ryan Reynolds, the band’s longtime record executive and producer Rob Cavallo and host Matt Pinfield, all of whom gave speeches at the ceremony.

However, when it came time for Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool’s star to actually be unveiled by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce outside of Amoeba Music, Flavor Flav crashed the lectern, shouting something unintelligible into the mic before raising his fists in celebration.

He later commemorated Green Day’s achievement on his Instagram Stories, writing, “Big day for my guys!!!” alongside a video that showed him gleefully hugging each member of the band — all set to their Dookie-era 1995 single “When I Come Around.”

The ceremony caps off a triumphant few weeks for Green Day, who headlined both weekends of Coachella 2025 in April along with Lady Gaga, Post Malone and Travis Scott. During the rockers’ high-octane, career-spanning set, they performed hits from Dookie, 1997’s Nimrod and 2004’s American Idiot all the up to their latest album, 2024’s Saviors.

Will Ferrell Reveals His First Concert Ever Was a Show by This Hot 100-Topping Rapper

Will Ferrell shocked the world when he revealed that the first concert he ever attended was a Roddy Ricch show. Being 57 years old, many thought he’d go elsewhere with his answer during a recent appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’s Colbert Questionert segment.

Colbert had no idea about the Compton rapper and asked for further details. “Just a hip-hop guy about five years ago. He was my first concert,” the actor said. The late-night host then followed up wondering if he’d know any songs from Ricch, and instead of naming “The Box,” Ferrell plainly said, “Nope.”

Fans had plenty to say about the hilarious interaction. Some thought he was trolling, but found it funny to picture Ferrell pulling up to a Roddy Ricch show for his first concert experience, while others implored the “High Fashion” rapper to sample Ferrell and Colbert’s back-and-forth on his upcoming album.

Trending on Billboard

“Will Ferrell going to a Roddy ricch concert for his first one is crazy lol,” one fan wrote to X. Another chimed in on TikTok, “Will Ferrell experienced prime Roddy rich at concert.”

Ferrell does have three younger children, so it’s possible one of his kids put him on. It appears Ferrell is expanding his music palate, as the Step Brothers actor was spotted in the desert at Coachella in April.

Roddy Ricch broke out before the start of the 2020s as the West Coast’s next star. Powered by “The Box,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 11 weeks, Ricch released his Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial album in December 2019. This sounds like the era Ferrell saw Roddy Ricch in concert.

Roddy is slated to return with his The Navy Album in July, which has been supported by singles like “Survivor’s Remorse” and “Lonely Road.” The project serves as his first LP since 2021’s Live Life Fast.

Which New Music Release Is Your Favorite This Week? Vote!

April showers bring May flowers, along with a slew of new music releases from Ed Sheeran, Maroon 5 and LISA and more to start off the month right.

On the first New Music Friday of May 2025, the British pop star followed up April’s “Azizam” with a nostalgic new single titled “Old Phone.” Both songs will appear on Sheeran’s upcoming album, Play, with the star heavily promoting the latter through an Instagram account full of decade-old snaps recovered from one of his old devices and the installation of his temporary Old Phone Pub in Massachusetts and at Coachella.

This week is also marked by several major collabs, the splashiest of which is likely Maroon 5 and LISA’s team-up on new single “Priceless.” Released after days of teasing from both parties, the funk-infused pop track leads the way for the band’s upcoming eighth studio album while also serving as an extra punctuation mark on the BLACKPINK star’s first full solo era with debut LP Alter Ego.

Other artists who’ve gotten in the studio together for this week’s drops include Don Toliver and Doja Cat — who teamed up for the sleek lead single “Lose My Mind” off of the newly announced F1 movie soundtrack — as well as Bailey Zimmerman and Luke Combs on new duet “Backup Plan.” Plus, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco kept their musical love fest going by dropping the deluxe version of their Billboard 200 No. 2 joint album I Said I Love You First, while Quavo delivered a collaboration with late nephew and Migos bandmate Takeoff titled “Dope Boy Phone.”
