Miley Cyrus‘ ‘Flowers’ Gave Diane Keaton a ‘Reason to Dance In My Own Backyard!’

It’s safe to say Diane Keaton is a fan of Miley Cyrus‘ “Flowers.” On Friday (Jan. 20), the actress decided to take herself dancing to the anthem on social media.

“@mileycyrus YOUR INCREDIBLE SONG GAVE ME A REASON TO DANCE IN MY OWN BACKYARD!” the Academy Award winner captioned her Instagram post, which shows her jumping into the grass and getting down as Cyrus’ voice sings, “I can buy myself flowers, write my name in the sand/ Talk to myself for hours, say things you don’t understand/ I can take myself dancing and I can hold my own hand/ Yeah, I can love me better than you can.”

Of course, in her trademark fashion, Keaton just so happens to be wearing a wide-brimmed bowler hat, sunglasses, a long-sleeved black turtleneck and matching wide-leg pants for her jaunt in the backyard.

The Annie Hall star got plenty of support for her jubilant dance, with Kerry Washington commenting, “SAME!” followed by an appropriately bright string of flower emojis. Thalia also wrote, “You are the best” while Christy Carlson Romano playfully pleaded, “Adopt me,” after seeing Keaton’s moves.

Keaton isn’t the only famous face who’s become an instant Smiler thanks to Cyrus’ latest single. A few days prior, Gloria Gaynor expressed her own appreciation for the song in a separate Instagram post, writing, “Your new song carries the torch of empowerment and encourages everyone to find strength in themselves to persevere and thrive. Well done Miley!” upon hearing the song for the very first time.

Lizzo Jams Out to SZA While Showing Off Cute Yitty Set

Lizzo is heading into the weekend feeling comfy and cute.

The “Good as Hell” singer took to Instagram on Friday (Jan. 20) to show off a white bra and underwear set from her Yitty shapewear line, posing at different angles to the tune of SZA’s Travis Scott collaboration, “Open Arms,” off her Billboard 200 chart topping album SOS.

“Been wanting to show more bellybutton lately,” Lizzo captioned the clip, in which she does, indeed, show her belly button.

It’s hardly the first time Lizzo has shown love for her longtime pal SZA. Earlier this month, the Grammy winner teased her Lizzo: Live in Concert special on HBO Max by posting a moment from the film, in which SZA joined her onstage to perform a remix of “Special.”

“My actual sister. I could cry thinking about you right now. Nothing could make special more special than you @sza [red heart emoji],” Lizzo captioned a clip from the performance, in which the two are seen in a loving embrace.

Meanwhile, over on Twitter on Friday (Jan. 20), Lizzo called out lawmakers who reject the concept of free will, likely in reference to the ongoing political debate surrounding abortion rights, gay marriage and transgender rights, among other human rights issues. “It’s wild how lawmakers think they doin the ‘will of god’ but God literally gave us free will.. so who tf do you think you are?” she tweeted.

Spotify Announces 2023 Best New Artist Grammy Party: Exclusive

For the first time in three years, Spotify will host a pre-Grammys performance showcase for the year’s best new artist nominees.

Spotify’s 2023 Grammys party will take place on the evening of Thursday, Feb. 2, in Los Angeles, Billboard can exclusively reveal. All 10 of this year’s best new artist nominees — Anitta, Omar Apollo, Domi & JD Beck, Muni Long, Samara Joy, Latto, Måneskin, Tobe Nwigwe, Molly Tuttle and Wet Leg — will be in attendance, with multiple performances and surprise guests planned.

Spotify launched its best new artist Grammy soiree in 2017, and last held its nighttime showcase in 2020, when artists like Lizzo, Lil Nas X and eventual winner Billie Eilish performed intimate sets. After taking off 2021 due to the pandemic, Spotify hosted a poolside brunch last April when the Grammys were held in Las Vegas, with best new artist nominees in attendance but no performances.

In 2021, Spotify filled the void of its best new artist party by launching a Spotify Singles series featuring that year’s nominees in the week leading up to the Grammys, which included Phoebe Bridgers reworking her song “Kyoto” with Jackson Browne and Chika covering Billie Eilish’s “My Future.” That series continued last year in the lead-up to the 2022 Grammys, and Spotify confirms that a new batch of Spotify Singles featuring the best new artist nominees is coming soon.

However, in InStyle‘s new February cover story, the beloved country artist revealed that for more than seven years, she was unable to project vocally. Doctors then diagnosed the now 57-year-old with Lyme disease stemming from a 2004 tick bite, leading them to believe that the disease damaged nerves in her vocal cords.

After years of relearning how to sing with physical therapy and vocal warm-ups, the five-time Grammy winner underwent open-throat surgery in 2018. “After I had the surgery, I was petrified to make a sound,” Twain told the publication. “I didn’t know what was going to come out.”

Thankfully, the star worked up the courage to try again. “It did scare me, but I just had to take the leap and make a sound. And I was so excited about what came out,” she recalled. “It was a connection to the vocal cords and it came out very easily. I was really, really, really excited.”

“It’s a reminder, don’t take time for granted,” Twain added of the scary experience. “Don’t take the opportunity for granted. It’s possible I might lose it, that it may not last. I guess any prosthetic or support that you get that is synthetic, your body still may give out around it. It could happen.”

The now-healthy country queen is gearing up to head out on a 2023 global tour in support of her upcoming sixth studio album, Queen of Me, out on Feb. 3. “These days, I’m feeling very comfortable in my own skin – and I think this album reflects that musically,” Twain said via Instagram announcing the news. “Life is short and I want to be uplifted, colorful, unapologetic and empowered. I want to carry a clear message, particularly as a woman, to always remember my power and I hope the songs are a reminder to you, of that same power inside you!”

Mick Jagger Grooves to a Rolling Stones Classic in His First TikTok: ‘So Excited to See What You Create!’

Still got those moves like Jagger. Mick Jagger joined TikTok on Thursday (Jan. 19) along with The Rolling Stones and celebrated by posting his first video dancing to “Sympathy for the Devil.”

“Hello TikTok, we have joined your world,” the frontman says from the recording studio in his introductory clip. “You can follow up @therollingstones and @jagger. So excited to see what you create with our music. Use #TheRollingStones so we can check it out…Oww!”

The Stones jumping on the TikTok bandwagon also means their entire catalog of hits will now officially be made available for TikTok users to stitch, lip-synch and otherwise create with on the social platform via the Sounds page. To mark the occasion, the band curated a special playlist on TikTok featuring 44 of their songs, including “Start Me Up,” “It’s Only Rock ‘N Roll (But I Like It),” “Miss You,” “Angie,” “Beast of Burden” and more.

As of press time, Jagger’s personal account has amassed more than 58,000 followers. The band’s official TikTok page, meanwhile, has begun posting old interviews from the 1960s as well as tutorials for fans to learn how to “Dress Like the Stones,” “Move Like the Stones” and perform a famous Keith Richards guitar chop.

Back in November, Jagger was spotted on social media in the studio with Dua Lipa, possibly hinting at a collab between the rock legend and the pop star, though nothing has been confirmed in the months since.

Dan+Shay’s Shay Mooney & Wife Hannah Welcome Third Child: ‘Grateful Doesn’t Begin to Cover It’

Dan+Shay‘s Shay Mooney and his wife, Hannah Billingsley, have welcomed their third child. The parents revealed the arrival of their new baby boy, Abram Shay Mooney, on Friday (Jan. 20). Abram, born on Jan. 17, joins older brothers Asher and Ames.

Mooney shared a video of himself cuddling his newborn son, and softly singing a bit of Dan+Shay’s 2017 song “When I Pray for You.”

“Grateful doesn’t begin to cover it,” Mooney captioned the clip, ending it with a heart emoji.

Several fellow artists offered their congratulations to the couple in the video’s comments section on Instagram, including Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus, Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild, Charles Esten, Chrissy Metz and Callista Clark.

Billingsley shared the same video clip on Instagram. “First song sang to the newest family member…Abram Shay, you’re so loved and so prayed over, baby boy,” she captioned her post. “Thankful for all that God has done for us this week.”

In August 2022, the couple revealed they were expecting their third child, telling fans via social media by posting a video that included their older sons. The couple welcomed their first child, son Asher James, in January 2017. The Mooneys wed in October 2017, and welcomed son Ames Alexander in February 2020.

“When I Pray for You” was released as part of the soundtrack for the film The Shack. Mooney and his Dan+Shay bandmate Dan Smyers wrote the song with Justin Ebach and Jon Nite. “When I Pray For You” offers the viewpoint of a father’s unconditional love toward his child.

Redd dropped Mansion Musick — an ode to Chief Keef’s 2018 mixtape Mansion Musick — and brought in a host of heavy hitters to assist him on the project, with features including (but not limited to) Future, Lil Baby, Travis Scott, Juice WRLD and more, with Keef executive producing the album. Distorted guitars and trap beats decorate the tracks, which sees Redd rapping of his super star status to anyone who dares to doubt him.

Kali Uchis has yet again proven that her lush production and vocal delivery never fails with new track “I Wish You Roses.” Uchis bids her subject a fond farewell, all while showcasing her power as a masterful hook creator and proving that this year may be when she firmly steps into the spotlight of mainstream pop — that is, if her billing on this year’s Coachella lineup wasn’t already an indicator.

Meanwhile, “Stay” hitmaker The Kid LAROI is gearing up to release his debut LP, and shared new single “I Can’t Go Back to the Way It Was (Intro)” to give fans a first taste. The melancholic track sees Laroi sharing intimate details about his life, such as his relationship with his parents, and the difficulties that life often holds. The 19-year-old also struggles to keep up with the fast pace of his existence, and feels bad for the bridges he’s burned in the process — a subject complemented by thumping drum work and gossamer-like harmonies.

What Song Do You Want to See Madonna Perform on Tour? Vote!

Madonna kicked off 2023 with a bang, announcing an incredible global tour to honor her four decades of hits.

The Celebration Tour will kick off Saturday, July 15, at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver and will make additional stops in Phoenix, Detroit, Atlanta, Toronto, Montreal and more before concluding at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Oct. 8. The tour’s European leg will pick up with a pair of dates at The O2 arena on Oct. 14-15 and will make stops in Paris, Barcelona, Milan, Berlin and more before concluding in Amsterdam on Dec. 1 at the Ziggo Dome. Bob the Drag Queen will be a special guest on the tour.

In anticipation for the tour, Madonna asked her fans via Twitter on Thursday (Jan. 19) what songs they’d like to “dance to” at the gig. Thankfully, we at Billboard have compiled 40 tracks we would love to hear the icon perform, filled with hits spanning throughout her career.

TALK Scores His First Adult Alternative Airplay No. 1 With ‘Run Away to Mars’

TALK achieves the first new No. 1 of 2023 on Billboard’s Adult Alternative Airplay chart with “Run Away to Mars,” which lifts from No. 2 to the top of the Jan. 28-dated survey.

“Mars” is also TALK’s first No. 1 on a Billboard chart, notched in the Canadian solo artist’s first appearance on the airplay ranking.

The song was released on DOOGOOD/Range/Capitol Records.

TALK is the latest act to score a first No. 1 on Adult Alternative Airplay, after Rosa Linn‘s “Snap” ruled for seven weeks beginning in October. Like TALK, Linn crowned the tally in her first appearance and was initially aided by TikTok virality.

Concurrently, “Mars” ranks at No. 8, after rising as high as No. 6 in December, on Alternative Airplay. On the all-rock-format, audience-based Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, the song ascends 12-11 with 2.5 million audience impressions, up 3%, according to Luminate.

“Mars” has also hit No. 22 on the multimetric Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, in September. On the most recently published, Jan. 21-dated ranking, it places at No. 31, with 1.3 million official U.S. streams and 1,000 downloads sold in addition to its radio success.

“Mars” is currently a standalone single. TALK released an EP, Talk to Me, in November 2021.

David Guetta & Bebe Rexha’s ‘I’m Good (Blue)’ Hits No. 1 on Pop Airplay Chart

David Guetta and Bebe Rexha’s viral collab-turned-smash “I’m Good (Blue)” ascends to No. 1 on Billboard’s mainstream top 40-based Pop Airplay chart (dated Jan. 28).

The song, on What a DJ/Warner Records, gained by 2% to 15,551 plays on 153 reporting stations, or, an average of 102 plays per panelist, Jan. 13-19, according to Luminate.

All charts dated Jan. 28 will update on Billboard.com Tuesday, Jan. 24.

Guetta claims his second Pop Airplay No. 1, after “Without You,” featuring Usher. As the song topped the tally dated Dec. 3, 2011, Guetta ends the longest break between leaders since the chart began in 1992: 11 years, one month and three weeks. He surpasses Sean Paul’s 10-year, three-month and one-week gap in 2006-16.

Rexha also achieves her second Pop Airplay No. 1, after “Me, Myself & I,” with G-Eazy, reigned for two weeks in April 2016.

Meanwhile, as “Good” climbs from No. 3 to the Pop Airplay summit, it bests the peak of the song that it prominently interpolates: Eiffel 65’s “Blue (Da Ba Dee),” which reached No. 2 on the list in January 2000.

Guetta and Rexha’s single holds at its No. 4 high on the most recently published all-genre, multi-metric Billboard Hot 100 (dated Jan. 21), likewise having topped the No. 6 peak of Eiffel 65’s hit.

“[David] had played [‘I’m Good’] at a festival after we had cut it, and somebody took a YouTube video of it and posted it,” Rexha recently told Billboard‘s Pop Shop Podcast. “Then somebody found that and made a remix and posted it to TikTok. Then this big gamer posted it from TikTok, and then it blew up from her page.

“It’s crazy, because you just never know what people want,” Rexha added. “Everybody was going crazy and being like, ‘We want this song! Why can’t we find it?’ And I was hitting up David [saying], ‘David, people really want this record! We should just put it out!’ At this point, it’s viral on TikTok, and people are asking for it. Let’s just give the people what they want. It’s just a great, fun record.”
