It takes a village to raise children, as the saying goes. And in Nick Cannon‘s case, that village includes not one, not two, but six baby mamas (so far).

In recent years, the Masked Singer host has become famous for being, well, fertile. He was already a dad to three kids when he welcomed his fourth in December of 2020, an occasion that marked the start of a baby-making marathon during which he fathered eight more children in the span of two years. Need a math check? That’s a total of 12 kiddos, starting with the twins he shares with superstar ex-wife Mariah Carey and ending, for the moment — ’cause who knows if another pregnancy announcement is coming? — with a baby girl he and model Alyssa Scott welcomed in December 2022.

Billboard has been covering the Nick Cannon baby beat since day one, from his many birth announcements to his vasectomy deliberations to the jokes famous friends such as Kevin Hart and Ryan Reynolds have made at his expense.

But it’s about time his children’s mothers got some recognition of their own, because — let’s be honest — when it comes to actually carrying the baby and giving birth, they do all of the work. But on top of that, these women are impressive in their own rights and should be highlighted for their accomplishments as singers, actresses, models and moguls on top of being loving mothers.

So, in the spirit of giving some due respect on the title “baby mama,” keep reading to find out more about the six women Nick Cannon has had children with.

Mariah Carey

Kids with Nick: Twins Moroccan and Monroe (born April 30, 2011)

What she does: Oh, you know. This and that. In addition to having five Grammys, 19 No. 1 songs and 28 in the Billboard Hot 100‘s top 10, Mariah Carey is one of the best-selling musicians of all time.

“He was a good guy. He was faith-based. He was ambitious,” Carey wrote in her 2020 memoir of her six-year marriage to Cannon, which ended in divorce in 2014. “He had been in the entertainment industry for a long time, so he understood the madness. He paid attention to me.”

“Honestly, I think Nick and I could have worked it out between the two of us, but egos and emotions got inflamed (which can translate into many billable lawyer hours, and ultimately it did),” she added. “It was tough. We both wanted to make sure everything was cool for our family. We will always be family, and we make it work.”

Brittany Bell

Kids with Nick: Golden Sagon (born Feb. 21, 2017), Powerful Queen (born Dec. 23, 2020) and Rise Messiah (born in September 2022)

What she does: Bell has a lot of credits up her sleeve in addition to being a mom of three. She’s known for winning Miss Guam and competing in the Miss Universe pageant in 2014, and hosts a podcast called The Mama Gang on top of pursuing a doctorate in psychology.

“One of the most hard working men in the world,” Bell wrote of Cannon on Instagram on Father’s Day in 2017. “Anything he does, he does well and beyond– but I must say it is a blessing to see him do his best job of them all… being a wonderful daddy. You are THE best dad. Golden glows when daddy makes him smile.”

Abby De La Rosa

Image Credit: Phillip Faraone/GI for REVOLT

Kids with Nick: Twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir (born June 14, 2021), and Beautiful Zeppelin (born Nov. 11, 2022)

What she does: De La Rosa has worked as a DJ and a radio personality, known for interviewing artists on Los Angeles’ Real 92.3.

“I’m excited for my kids to grow up and be like, ‘Mom and Dad, y’all did it your way and I love that,’” De La Rosa said of her polyamorous relationship with Cannon during a 2022 podcast appearance. “I hope my kids can eventually do it their way, whatever that may be in whatever capacity that is. To do it their way, not the way that the world wants them to do … to do it their way the way mom and dad did.”

Alyssa Scott

Kids with Nick: Zen (born June 23, 2021, died in December 2021) and Halo Marie (born Dec. 14, 2022)

What she does: Scott is an Instagram influencer and has been modeling since she was a teenager, previously appearing on Cannon’s long-running sketch comedy show Wild ‘N Out.

“I will remember the sound of Nicks voice saying ‘it’s a girl’ and the look of everything we’ve been through flash across his face,” Scott recalled of the delivery of the pair’s daughter, Halo, who arrived almost exactly a year after their first child together, Zen, died at five months from a brain tumor.

Bre Tiesi

Kids with Nick: Legendary Love (born in July 2022)

What she does: Tiesi is also a model who appeared on his show Wild ‘N Out. She now works as a luxury real estate agent in Los Angeles on Netflix’s reality TV show Selling Sunset, has her own YouTube channel and was featured on the reality show WAGS.

“I think some people have their idea of conventional relationships and certain things, but we have a beautiful relationship,” Tiesi said of Cannon a March 2022 interview. “We actually have a very long history; we’re going on almost a decade.”

“We’re all very supportive,” she added of the mutual respect between all of Cannon’s other baby mamas. “We just respect that that’s your family, this is ours, and you need anything, we’re here … I feel like, as adults, our kids are gonna be together and things like that, so I don’t think there’ll ever be an issue. I don’t know of any issues. Definitely won’t be one with me.”

LaNisha Cole

Kids with Nick: Onyx Ice (born Sept. 14, 2022)

What she does: LaNisha is a model and actress whose credits include The Price Is Right and Deal or No Deal. She’s also a film producer and photographer.

“Coparenting is a breeze when you see eye to eye,” Cole wrote on her Instagram story in December 2022. “It’s all about this little one, our Onyx. Nick was playing ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ by Stevie Wonder in the delivery room to welcome Onyx into the world. My heart smiles every time I hear this song. It will forever be special. It’s her song. Teamwork makes the dream work.”

North West and Selena Gomez‘s little sister Gracie Teefey are the friendship goals we never knew we needed. The two shared a series of TikToks over the weekend, in which they give fans a cute look into their process of making pasta from scratch.

In the videos shared to North and her mom Kim Kardashian’s TikTok page, Gracie and North experiment as they make their pasta and share the steps along the way, including cracking eggs on top of flour, mixing the dough and, most importantly, applying lip gloss before delving into their cooking.

Nine-year-old Gracie revealed that she actually tried making pasta before with Kourtney Kardashian’s daughter and North’s cousin, Penelope Disick. “If it was a fail, does that count?” Gracie joked, before adding, “I did make it with Penelope and then I threw up after.”

Unfortunately, the two pals did not share their final product or a taste test. See their four-part pasta journey on TikTok here.

North West has become a popular TikTok personality, as fans have grown to love the nine-year-old’s sense of humor and care for her three younger siblings. In January, she shared a video in which she looks exactly like her father, Kanye West, thanks to an oversized hoodie, knit beanie and special effects makeup. She and her mom vibe to West’s 2013 track “Bound 2,” the words “Bound Baby” written in black text on the video.

Mod Sun has addressed his breakup with Avril Lavigne in a Tuesday (Feb. 28) Instagram post.

“In 1 week my entire life completely changed…I just know there’s a plan for it all. I’ll keep my head up + always listen to my heart, even when it feels broken,” the punk-pop rocker wrote alongside a carousel of photos and videos posted to his Instagram feed. His caption did not specifically mention Lavigne, but Billboard can confirm it is about their split. “Being surrounded by love every night on tour has been an absolute blessing. I have the best friends in the entire world, thanks for always having my back. See you on stage.”

When reports first started brewing a week ago that Mod and the “Bois Lie” singer had parted ways and called off their engagement, his representative told Billboard, “They were together and engaged as of three days ago when Mod left for tour so if anything has changed that’s news to him.” Lavigne’s team did not respond to requests for comment at the time.

Mod Sun is currently at the start of his 2023 God Save the Teen tour, having just played a show at The Depot in Salt Lake City one night before his post. The run of shows across the U.S. and Canada will continue through early April, with openers Stand Atlantic and Tom the Mail Man before he hits the U.K.’s Download Festival and Italy’s SUMMERSADFEST this summer.

Lavigne previously sat down to pen a personal essay for Billboard at the end of 2022 about the resurgence of pop-punk, performing at the inaugural When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas and her role in pioneering the genre. She also closed out the year by unveiling the deluxe edition of her latest album Love Sux featuring bonus tracks like “Pity Party,” “Mercury in Retrograde” and Yungblud collab “I’m a Mess.”

Jesse Williams is joining in on the murder mystery fun. Selena Gomez took to Instagram on Tuesday (Feb. 28) to share a photo with the Grey’s Anatomy star, who will be joining the cast of Only Murders in the Building for season three, though she didn’t clarify who Williams will be playing in the popular series.

Billboard’s Hot Trending charts, powered by Twitter, track global music-related trends and conversations in real-time across Twitter, viewable over either the last 24 hours or past seven days. A weekly, 20-position version of the chart, covering activity from Friday through Thursday of each week, posts alongside Billboard’s other weekly charts on Billboard.com each Tuesday, with the latest tracking period running Feb. 17-23.

Abrams’ “Work” gets a bump that exceeds the rest of Good Riddance’s 12-song tracklist thanks to her announcement of its music video, which was initially teased with a clip on Feb. 22.

The Aaron Dessner-produced album also boasts an entry on the latest chart via “Fault Line,” which bows at No. 15. More appearances for Good Riddance are possible on the March 11-dated chart, which will cover the LP’s first week of release.

Speaking of Dessner, his band The National appears on the March 4 survey at No. 11 with “New Order T-Shirt,” the latest taste of the group’s upcoming album, First Two Pages of Frankenstein (April 28).

Abrams is followed at No. 1 by Halsey, whose “Die 4 Me” bows at No. 2. Released Feb. 24, it’s an expanded solo version of the 2019 song she recorded with Post Malone, “Die for Me” (also featuring Future), from the five-week Billboard 200 No. 1 album Hollywood’s Bleeding.

Music from Sebastian Yatra, The Boyz and Jonas Brothers round out the top five.

Chlöe’s In Pieces will feature lead single “Pray It Away” as well as her recently released Chris Brown collaboration, “How Does It Feel.” In an August interview with Essence, the singer — who is one half of the sister duo Chloe x Halle — explained that her album is “everything that I’ve been going through, all the tearing down, people underestimating, telling me I can’t do it — all of those things have gone into the music.” She added, “The album is me picking myself up and talking myself out of any little place or space that the world has tried to put me in, that people and personal relationships have tried to put me in, and even [doing that to] myself. It’s me breaking free.”

Alabama’s Fan Appreciation Week will also be held in the days leading up to June Jam, with events including a talent contest, a songwriters concert, a brunch at Cook Castle for the Jeff & Lisa Cook Foundation, and “Fandemonium” at Owen’s farm. Additionally, a public celebration of life event will be held to honor the late Alabama co-founder Jeff Cook, who died in November 2022 at age 73 following a battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

When the first June Jam benefit concert was held in 1982, more than 30,000 fans attended. By 1991, the event was bringing 67,000 fans to Fort Payne, resulting in one of the most well-attended country music events across the nation. The event has raised more than $15 million for charities, and has hosted entertainers including Dolly Parton, Garth Brooks, Charley Pride, Charlie Daniels, Alan Jackson, The Judds, Tim McGraw, Trisha Yearwood and Willie Nelson.

“Our wishes are that Fort Payne will take June Jam and it will go on forever,” lead singer Randy Owen said via a statement. “We lost Jeff, and when me and Teddy are gone, hopefully the city will continue with the June Jam. We want this to continue to help the city, the town, the state, and just help people in general.”

Alabama Fan Club presale ticket purchases are available now via ticketmaster.com, while tickets will go on sale to the general public on March 1 at 10 a.m. CT via ticketmaster.com and at the Alabama Fan Club & Museum in Fort Payne, Ala. June Jam is presented by Outback Presents and Tony Conway Entertainment.

The group’s hometown of Fort Payne recently honored the band with the V.I. Prewett Lifetime Achievement Award from the Fort Payne Chamber of Commerce, recognizing the group for its decades of giving back to the community.

Blake Shelton is entering his final season of The Voice, and he’s doing it with good humor. During the country singer’s Monday night (Feb. 27) appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, he opened up about stepping away from the long-running singing competition, and how the show has affected his touring — but not without cracking a joke first.

“Kelly [Clarkson] finally got me fired. I wanted to announce that here,” he laughed of his fellow coach, who also has her eponymous talk show on the same network. “NBC stands for Nothing But Clarkson.”

As for the impact the show has had on his work as a musician? “I don’t tour that much anymore. Part of the reason is because we produce so much work on The Voice,” Shelton revealed. “It’s two seasons a year every year, and so it’s kinda limited me on how much I can tour. I’ve never been one of those guys that just hits the road for a long time anyway, but we only do, like, 18 tour dates a year.”

And as for the eight-time Grammy nominee’s relationship with Voice host Carson Daly? “Somebody asked me earlier, they go, ‘Is Carson upset that you’re leaving The Voice?’” the country star shared. “And I go, ‘Carson is upset about everything all the time anyways.’ He is the grumpiest guy.” (Shelton won’t have to miss Daly much; the two star opposite each other in Barmageddon.)

In a separate interview with TODAY earlier on Monday, Shelton revealed that he initially intended to leave The Voice in 2020. “I think I was close to calling it a day right when COVID hit,” he explained. “And then, because of COVID, I didn’t want to walk away from the show and leave everybody in a bind. I mean, this show changed my life. I’ll stay here until the world kind of gets back to normal again.”

When Shelton takes his final bow on season 23 of The Voice — which kicks off March 6 — Niall Horan and Chance the Rapper will join as coaches. Clarkson will continue to sit in one of the red chairs.

Watch Shelton discuss The Voice with Kimmel in the video above.

Nick Jonas had his family on hand during the Jonas Brothers‘ latest string of dates in Las Vegas over the weekend.

In a sweet video posted by Priyanka Chopra, the youngest JoBros member can be seen holding his baby daughter Malti as he gives the 1-year-old tot a backstage tour of the Dolby Live at the MGM Grand as the band’s new single “Wings” plays over the clip.

From there, the actress cobbled together a montage of Nick and his brothers performing at their residency, Jonas Brothers Live in Vegas, along with shots of fans ecstatically waving their arms in the state-of-the-art venue, Nick swiveling his hips on stage in brown leather pants, and photos of herself posing with her pop-star hubby in a hotel suite. (There’s also a split-second snapshot of Chopra sharing a cookie decorated with Nick’s face with Jonas Brothers superfan Haley Lu Richardson, who recently starred in the “Wings” music video after a surprise phone call from Joe Jonas himself.)

While baby Malti made her first public appearance — and showed her cherubic face! — at the Jonas Brothers’ dedication ceremony on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last month, her famous dad has since starred in a Super Bowl commercial for Dexcom’s G7 continuous glucose monitoring system.

The Jonas Brothers’ upcoming album, The Album, will drop May 12 via Republic Records. Ahead of its release, Nick and his older brothers are headed to Broadway next month for an intimate five-night run of shows leading up to their first-ever live performance of the studio set.
