Cher Is Making Music With Her Boyfriend Alexander ‘A.E.’ Edwards

Cher and Alexander “A.E.” Edwards are taking their relationship to the next level.

The icon told E! News on Monday (March 6) that she’s working on new music, and she’s even brought her boyfriend — who is a producer himself — into the studio for collaboration. “I’m going to England to make two albums,” she revealed. “Some of the songs Alexander gave me, so I’m pretty excited about that. He’s a producer and a writer and he does everything, so I’m happy about that.”

Cher also added that she’s “trying to get myself in shape” for an upcoming tour she is planning to embark on later this year.

The “If I Could Turn Back Time” singer previously opened up about the 40-year age difference in her relationship. “On paper, it’s kind of ridiculous,” she admitted on The Kelly Clarkson Show back in December. “But in real life, we get along great. He’s fabulous. And I don’t give men qualities that they don’t deserve.”

She noted that Edwards is “very kind, very smart, he’s very talented, and he’s really funny,” before sweetly observing, “And I think he’s quite handsome.”

Cher and Edwards met at Paris Fashion Week in September, and were later spotted holding hands. The rapper and music executive was previously linked to Amber Rose, with whom he shares three-year-old son Slash Electric.

Billboard Staff Offer Ways to Support Women During 2023 Women in Music Awards Pre-Show

Billboard’s 2023 Women in Music Awards took place on Wednesday (March 1) at Los Angeles’s YouTube Theater, honoring several powerhouse artists who made a significant impact on music over the past year. But hours before the awards show, Billboard aired a special pre-show that celebrated the successes of some of the most influential women in the industry at large.

The pre-show hosted by hip-hop legend Trina explored some of the most notable accomplishments ever made by star-studded women and featured interviews from some of the award recipients, who know how invaluable it is to have support On Your Side.

The Nationwide-sponsored event also included a roundtable segment featuring members of Billboard’s women editorial staff –– including executive director of R&B/Hip-Hop Gail Mitchell, music publishing reporter Kristin Robinson, executive editor for West Coast and Nashville Melinda Newman, director of Billboard dance Katie Bain, and senior editor Lyndsey Havens –– who spoke openly about their unique experiences as women in the music industry.

Speaking about who has supported them over the past year, each staff member counted past and present coworkers as integral components of their support systems, offering encouragement and solidarity in a way only those who have faced similar challenges can.

“We have a group called Sister Friends,” said Mitchell. “And it’s women who were in the industry before me, another woman that came in right at the same time I did. So, we’ve helped each other along.”

Havens spoke specifically about Billboard, saying the company has seen her through several aspects of her career: “I think the women in this office are amazing. I started as an intern, so I really just feel like the women in this company are the ones that have been on my side this year, last year, all the years.”

As for who’s backed them throughout the course of their careers, each woman gave credit to their families, who cheered them on from the very beginning.

“I remember in 5th grade when I’d decided I wanted to do this for a living, [my parents] got me an electric typewriter and were just incredibly supportive, and that has stayed with me my entire life,” Newman said. “There was never a doubt in my mind that I could do this.”

“My mom has also been there for me in that same way,” Robinson co-signed. “She always said, ‘I’m not worried about you. You’re gonna be OK.’”

The group also offered up ways to further support women –– and it’s advice that applies to every industry.

“Hire women,” Bain said simply. “Just get women in the door, because I feel like when you open a door for a woman, she does the rest of the work herself.”

“You have to be very willing to say, ‘I’m gonna kick this door open and I’m gonna leave it way wider open than it was when I had to come through it,’” Mitchell said, “but I think there are a lot of women who do that, actually.”

Ice Spice Teams Up With North West for Adorable Mini-Me TikTok

North West continued her hot streak on TikTok over the weekend by tapping Ice Spice for help in making a viral video.

The clip posted Saturday depicts the rising rapper lip-syncing to a TikTok mash-up of her 2023 single “In Ha Mood” and The Buggles’ “Video Killed the Radio Star” as Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s eldest daughter playfully raps along next to her. However, the TikTok fun didn’t end there. Two days later, North decided to double down on the video by dressing up as Ice Spice, complete with a curly red wig and her signature chain and re-create the moment — stitching together the original snippet with a friend for double the lip-sync madness.

In another video, North, her friends and Ice dance along to the song before Kardashian makes a quick cameo to blow the camera a kiss. A third features Ice Spice’s hit collab with PinkPantheress, “Boy’s a Liar, Pt. 2” — which has so far peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 — as the rapper raids Kardashian’s fridge with the girls to the lyrics, “And I can’t eat enough with you.”

It’s certainly no secret that North is a fan of the artist otherwise known as Isis Gaston after declaring the “Bikini Bottom” songstress was one of her favorites in a series of TikToks filmed late last month with Selena Gomez’s younger sister Gracie Teefey.

Watch Nicole Scherzinger Turn Celine Dion’s Biggest Hit Into a Led Zeppelin Wailer on ‘That’s My Jam’

Ever want to hear Nicole Scherzinger‘s impression of Led Zeppelin? Today’s your lucky day.

On Monday (March 6), That’s My Jam shared a clip from its season 2 premiere, in which The Pussycat Dolls singer and Masked Singer host was tasked with what seems like the impossible: Singing Celine Dion‘s smash “My Heart Will Go On” in the style of Zeppelin.

Scherzinger, up for the challenge, stepped up to the mic accompanied by a full backing band for her rock rendition of the track, adding vibrato and invoking the spirit of Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant. “Near, far, wherever you are/ I believe that the heart does go on/ Once more you open the door/ And you’re here in my heart/ And my heart will go on and on,” she passionately sang, nailing the Wheel of Impressions game.

Elsewhere in the episode, Scherzinger’s partner Jason Derulo is required to sing Sisqo‘s late-’90s classic “The Thong Song” in the grand tradition of opera. “Are you serious?” Derulo quipped to the audience, before delivering his best effort as a tenor. Scherzinger and Derulo face off against Kelsea Ballerini and Julia Michaels on the season 2 premiere.

That’s My Jam returns Tuesday (March 7) on NBC. The forthcoming season, once again hosted by Jimmy Fallon, will feature Chloe x Halle, Keke Palmer, Adam Lambert, JoJo Siwa, Quavo and will.i.am as new guests. The season will also highlight new games titled Turn the Beat Around, Don’t Fear the Speaker, Drawing a Blank, Bop Quiz and more.

BTS’ Jimin Releases 2 Long-Awaited Solo Songs on Streaming: Listen Now

Before Jimin unveils his debut solo album FACE, the BTS member has made two long-awaited tracks available across streaming services.

At midnight on Monday (March 6), two of Jimin’s solo songs, “Promise” and “Christmas Love,” became available across all streaming services for the first time since their releases in 2018 and 2020, respectively. Before today, the tracks were only available on BTS’ SoundCloud or YouTube accounts.

The sparse and tender “Promise” was Jimin’s first official solo song revealed outside of BTS. Shared as a present to fans in 2018, the track was written and composed by Jimin alongside BTS leader RM and the group’s longtime producer and collaborator Slow Rabbit. Meanwhile, the festive and feel-good “Christmas Love” was shared as a holiday gift in 2020, and also saw Jimin, RM, and Slow Rabbit working together.

The two releases join Jimin’s steadily growing collection of solo songs on streaming, including “With You,” his duet with best friend and fellow K-pop star Ha Sung Woon, and “Vibe,” the Billboard Hot 100 hit collaboration with BIGBANG’s Taeyang.

The new songs come ahead of Jimin’s forthcoming solo album, FACE. Fans will get the first taste of Jimin’s FACE with the pre-release buzz single “Set Me Free Pt.2” and its accompanying music video on Mar. 17, before the Mar. 24 unveil of the complete six-track set alongside lead single “Like Crazy.”

Th set debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, becoming the first all-Spanish-language leader by a woman in the list’s history.

Leading Karol G’s haul on the Hot 100, “TQG,” with Shakira, debuts at No. 7. It earns Karol G her first top 10 on the ranking and Shakira, her sixth. The collab concurrently opens at No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs, becoming Karol G’s sixth leader and Shakira’s 13th.

Here’s a look at all 11 of Karol G’s tracks from Mañana Será Bonito on the latest Hot 100, all of which are debuts except where noted:

Rank, Title
No. 7, “TQG,” with Shakira
No. 48, “X Si Volvemos,” with Romeo Santos (up 91-48, a new peak)
No. 68, “Mientras Me Curo del Cora”
No. 71, “Gucci Los Paños”
No. 73, “Tus Gafitas”

No. 96, “Besties”
No. 98, “Mañana Será Bonito,” with Carla Morrison

(Another song included on the new set, “Provenza,” reached No. 25 on the Hot 100 in May 2022.)

In the Hot 100’s history, which dates to 1958, only one other core Latin music artist has charted at least 11 songs simultaneously: Bad Bunny, who has sent as many as 22 onto the chart in a single week (May 21, 2022).

With nine debuts on the latest Hot 100, Karol G ups her career total to 22 entries. She arrived with “Dame Tu Cosita,” with Pitbull and El Chombo, featuring Cutty Ranks, in May 2018. It reached a No. 36 best later that month.

Thanks to their guest appearances, Ovy on the Drums, Justin Quiles, Ángel Dior and Carla Morrison all score their first entries (as recording artists) on the Hot 100. “Gatúbela,” which re-enters, earned Maldy his first solo appearance on the chart upon its debut.

Karol G’s 11 charted songs in 2023 are the second-most this year among all acts so far, after SZA’s 16.

Jennifer Lopez Teases New Lingerie Collab With Sexy Intimissi Photo Shoot

Jenny From the Block has something special up her sleeve in the coming weeks. On Monday (March 6), Jennifer Lopez shared a series of snaps to her Instagram wearing a stunning set of lingerie from what appears to be a collaboration between her and Italian intimates brand Intimissi.

The “Waiting for Tonight” singer shared a carousel of photos of her wearing a silky, fuchsia set consisting of a bra, underwear and a short satin robe. In the first of the shots, Lopez poses in a wicker chair; in the other snaps, she smiles for the camera while lounging in bed.

“JLOxINTIMISSIMI is almost here,” the singer captioned the post. “I can’t wait for you to see what I have in store with @intimissimiofficial. #linkinbio to preview the collection. #GlobalAmbassador #THISISMENOW.”

Fans looking to get Lopez’s set are in luck: The link in the 53-year-old’s bio leads to several pieces from Intimissi’s line that are “picked by Jennifer Lopez,” including the fuschia set she donned in the Instagram photos. The bra retails for $69, while the matching panty runs for $15 and the silk robe $159. The pieces Lopez wears also come in black, turquoise and bright orange. Silk pajamas are also included in the collection of pieces handpicked by the pop star.

As far as what Lopez is cooking up in the lingerie department, fans will have to wait until the full collaboration arrives. In the meantime, check out the photos from J.Lo and Intimissi’s forthcoming partnership below.

Did Selena Gomez’s Music Get a Streaming Boost From Hailey Bieber Feud Headlines?

While Selena Gomez has been dealing with some tough online drama over the past few weeks, the star’s fans have been supporting her every step of the way — especially when it comes to her music.

Gomez’s songs (on which she is the lead artist) registered 16.1 million on-demand U.S. audio streams in the week ending March 2, according to Luminate, up from 11 million the week before. The new total is her best audio streaming week since the week ending Nov. 10, 2022 (17.6 million), which was most likely linked to the release of her Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me documentary on Nov. 2.

That extra 5.1 million streams in the U.S. comes out to a bonus $27,030 for the recording rights holders, plus another $6,245 in publishing revenue, Billboard estimates.

While there is no clear cause of the boost, Gomez has been in the headlines quite a bit recently related to her alleged feud with Hailey Bieber, who is married to her ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber. It all started after the Only Murders in the Building star confessed on TikTok in February that she’d over-laminated her eyebrows. Kylie Jenner then shared a photo with her friend Hailey holding the camera close up to their own professional-looking brows.

Fans believed that the similarities between the posts was no coincidence, and that perhaps the reality star and model were making fun of Gomez. “This is reaching,” the Kardashians star commented about the situation on a TikTok. “No shade towards selena ever and I didn’t see her eyebrow posts! u guys are making something out of nothing. this is silly.”

At the time, Gomez added that she’s “a fan of Kylie,” though she has since commented on fan-made TikToks shading Hailey, writing “I love you” to one fan who slammed the Rhode founder for being a “nepo baby” and a “mean girl.” On a resurfaced video of Hailey pretending to gag at the mention of Taylor Swift’s music, Gomez replied, “So sorry, my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game.”

However, most recently, Gomez has encouraged her followers to be more empathetic. “Please, please be kinder and consider others mental health,” Selena commented on one of her recent TikToks sharing her makeup routine. “My heart has been heavy and I only want good for everyone. All my love.”

Solardo & Idris Elba, “Big Talk”

The Artists: Noted actor/DJ/producer/good-looking person Idris Elba links with Manchester duo Solardo.

The Label: Ultra Records

The Spiel: After meeting at EDC 2017, Idris Elba and Solardo eventually linked in the studio to deliver a fast-paced production over which insistent beeps/bloops/laser sounds and waves of high-hat lay a happily frantic foundation for Elba’s rapid-fire flow.

The Artists Say: “Overall, it probably took a year or so going back and forth with ideas which were both reflective of our styles,” say Solardo. “We wanted the track to both sit in the underground market as well as being a little more accessible to the larger audience. I think we did that with ‘Big Talk.’”

The Vibe: Extremely peak time.

Fred again.. x The Streets x Dermot Kennedy, “Mike (desert island duvet)”

The Artists: The apparently unstoppable Fred again.., along with U.K. legend Mike Skinner of The Streets and Irish singer Dermot Kennedy, who previously worked with Fred on Actual Life (April 14 – December 17, 2020)‘s aptly titled “Dermot (see yourself in my eyes).”

The Label: Atlantic Records

The Spiel: Skinner’s 2002 classic Original Pirate Material meets Fred’s piano lullabies meets Kennedy’s milky falsetto for the first 2023 single from Fred again.., who’s already having a Very Big Year following his Skrillex collabs and sold out Madison Square Garden show with Skrill and Four Tet last month.

The Artists Say: “This is one of my favorite things I’ve ever been a part of,” says the man Fred Gibson. “Mainly because it’s just like listening to one of my favorite ever musicians. Well it’s not like that, it IS that.”

The Vibe: A fresh and quite pretty love song for the comedown hours.

Michael Bibi & KinAhau feat. Audio Bullys, “Different Side”

The Artists: Solid Grooves boss Michael Bibi with label signee KinAhau working a vocal sample from “We Don’t Care,” the 2003 single from English electronic trio Audio Bullys.

The Label: Solid Grooves Records

The Spiel: An in-demand ID from Bibi’s buzzy 2022 DC-10 residency, the dark, sort of funky, happily demented “Different Side” fiiiiinally gets an official release, marking the U.K. producer’s first drop of 2023.

The Vibe: The good kind of trouble at 4:00 a.m. in Ibiza.

ILLENIUM feat. American Teeth, “Insanity”

The Artists: Mega-fav Illenium links with L.A.-based band American Teeth

The Label: Warner Records

The Spiel: Illenium pushes even further into his predilections for emo/screamo via this giant singalong future-based infused rock anthem, the newest from the producer’s fifth studio album, coming April 28.

The Vibe: Cathartic singalong at full lung capacity alongside your best pals. (Perhaps during the producer’s upcoming ILLENIUM LIVE world tour.)

John Summit & Hayla, “Where You Are”

The Artists: Chicago phenom John Summit and U.K. singer Hayla.

The Label: Off The Grid/Darkroom Records

The Spiel: Dance’s current golden child John Summit, who dropped his excellent debut Essential Mix over the weekend, links with U.K. singer Hayla, who follows up her excellent, enduring vocal performance on Kx5’s “Escape” with a similarly power-lunged, similarly moody, similarly lovestruck delivery, which rides a spacey, sophisticated progressive house production from Summit.

The Vibe: Longing for the object of your affection — but like, at Burning Man.
