The set debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, becoming the first all-Spanish-language leader by a woman in the list’s history. The only other all-Spanish-language No. 1s are Bad Bunny’s El Ultimo Tour del Mundo and Un Verano Sin Ti.

Quiles and Dior both appear on Karol G’s “Ojos Ferrari.” The song starts at No. 95 on the Hot 100 with 5.5 million official U.S. streams in the Feb. 24-March 2 tracking week (its opening week), according to Luminate.

Quiles has been a regular visitor to Billboard’s charts over the past decade. He notched his first entry in November 2013, when “Orgullo” debuted on Latin Rhythm Airplay. Since then, he’s upped his count to 16 Hot Latin Songs hits, reaching as high as No. 11 with 2020’s “Porfa,” with Feid, J Balvin, Maluma, Nicky Jam and Sech.

The Puerto Rican-American reggaeton artist has also charted 15 songs on the Latin Airplay chart, including three No. 1s: “Porfa”; “Loco,” with Chimbala and Zion & Lennox; and “Medallo,” with Blessd and Lenny Tavarez.

Quiles has also sent four titles onto the Top Latin Albums chart, including two top 10s in 2016: La Promesa (No. 2) and Imperio Nazza: Justin Quiles Edition (No. 9).

Dior is brand new to Billboard’s charts, as “Ojos Ferrari” marks the Dominican singer’s first chart appearance. Dior has also collaborated on songs with Rauw Alejandro, Chimbala and El Alfa, among others.

Carla Morrison is credited on the title track on Karol G’s new LP, new at No. 98. The Mexican singer first appeared on a Billboard chart in 2013, as her album Déjenme Llorar reached No. 15 on Latin Pop Albums. She’s charted one additional album since: Amor Supremo crowned Latin Pop Albums and hit No. 4 on Top Latin Albums in 2015. The sets earned Morrison Grammy nominations for best Latin rock, urban or alternative album in 2013 and 2017, respectively.

Morrison has also garnered 10 Latin Grammy Award nominations, bringing home three trophies, for best alternative music album in 2012 for Déjenme Llorar and best alternative song in 2012 and 2016 for “Déjenme Llorar” and “Vez Primera,” respectively.

Morrison is currently on the U.S. leg of her El Renacimiento Tour.

Morgan Wallen Returns to No. 1 on Artist 100 Chart for 7th Week

Morgan Wallen rises from No. 3 to No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart (dated March 11), becoming the top musical act in the U.S. for a seventh total week.

Wallen released his third studio album, One Thing at a Time, Friday (March 3), with the set slated to soar onto next week’s Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums charts (dated March 18).

Contributing to Wallen’s Artist 100 ascent are six songs on the Billboard Hot 100, all of which appear on One Thing at a Time. Here’s a recap.

Further fueling Wallen’s return to No. 1 on the Artist 100 is his prior LP Dangerous: The Double Album, at No. 6 on the Billboard 200. The set has spent 109 weeks in the Billboard 200’s top 10, tying the soundtrack to The Sound of Music, from 1965, for the second-most time tallied in the region, after the My Fair Lady original cast recording, from 1956 (173 weeks in the top 10).

Wallen extends his record for the most weeks atop the Artist 100 among core country acts. Jason Aldean and Luke Combs follow with three weeks on top apiece. Taylor Swift leads all acts with 64 weeks logged at the summit.

Elsewhere in the Artist 100’s top 10, Gorillaz re-enter at No. 3, thanks to the group’s new album Cracker Island. The set opens at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 (64,000 units) and No. 1 on Top Album Sales (48,000 sold).

Plus, Karol G re-enters the Artist 100 at No. 5, a new high, thanks to her new album, Mañana Será Bonito. The set debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 (94,000 units), becoming the first all-Spanish-language leader by a woman in the list’s history. The only other all-Spanish-language No. 1s are Bad Bunny’s El Ultimo Tour del Mundo and Un Verano Sin Ti.

The Artist 100 measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay and streaming to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.

‘Elvis’ Soundtrack Expanded Edition Features Previously Unreleased Austin Butler Performances

On the eve of Sunday’s (March 12) Academy Awards, movie maximalist Baz Luhrmann is giving Elvis fans more, more, more. The director whose dizzying biopic of The King is nominated for 8 Oscars announced a deluxe edition of the movie’s official soundtrack on Tuesday (March 7) featuring previously unreleased recordings of star Austin Butler, some contemporary versions of Elvis classics and the new mash-up “Backstreet Boss Nova (Daisy O’Dell Remix)” that mixes up Presley and the iconic ’90s boy band.

“The whole Elvis music team has answered the call from fans with this new Deluxe Edition of the Elvis soundtrack,” said Luhrmann in a statement. “Featuring everything from previously unreleased recordings by Austin Butler to contemporary takes on Elvis’s classics and a fresh mash-up with the Backstreet Boys, the Deluxe album reveals all the complex layers of Austin’s performance, Elvis’s music and those who continue his legacy.”

At a massive 52 tracks, the deluxe edition features “Toxic Las Vegas” (Presley x Britney Spears and “Fly Away Weave” with the film’s scorer, Elliott Wheeler, as well as Gary Clark Jr., Shannon Sanders, Nashville Urban Choir, Butler, Shonka Dukureh and Lanesha Randolph. The beefed-up album also has the Presley songs “Rubberneckin’,” “Blue Moon,” “Can’t Help Falling In Love” (Wheeler remix and Aug. 12 — Midnight Show version), “A Little Less Conversation” (Presley x JXL) and Butler performing “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Heartbreak Hotel” (with Wheeler), “Are You Lonesome Tonight” (with Wheeler) and “Crawfish” (live on set).

Also included is “How Do You Think I Feel” by Kodi Smit-McPhee (who plays Jimmie Rodgers in the film) and Wheeler and Kacey Musgraves and Mark Ronson’s version of “Can’t Help Falling In Love,” which, along with the Spears song were released as singles leading up to the original album’s release.

50th CMA Fest Reveals Initial 2023 Performer Lineup

CMA Fest returns to downtown Nashville on June 8-11 and organizers revealed the initial artist performer lineup for the festival’s 50th anniversary on Tuesday (March 7), including entertainers set for the nightly concerts at Nissan Stadium as well as the lineups for multiple outdoor daytime stages including Chevy Riverfront Stage and Dr Pepper Amp Stage at Ascend Park. Outdoor daytime stages are free and open to the public.

Additional stage lineups for Ascend Amphitheater, Fan Fair X activities inside Music City Center and more are set to be revealed in coming weeks. Once again, portions of the country music festival will be filmed for the annual CMA Fest television special set to air on ABC.

A limited number of four-night stadium passes are currently on sale, while fans can access several new ticket options beginning Tuesday (March 7) at 10 a.m. CT here.

Single night tickets for the nightly Nissan Stadium concerts are available beginning at $85.70 per night. Four-day and single day tickets will be available to Fan Fair X inside Music City Center (which features meet-and-greet events, music, merchandise and more in an air-conditioned environment).

Four-day tickets will also be available for Riverside Retreat, located along the Cumberland River. Riverside Retreat offers early admission to the Chevy Riverfront Stage, as well as shaded areas, misting stations, charging for mobile device, air-conditioned restrooms, discounts on select beverages and online merchandise and more.

Lewis Capaldi Tells Fans He’s ‘Absolutely Devastated’ About Postponing Zurich, Milan Shows Due to Illness

Lewis Capaldi told his fans he was gutted about postponing two European shows this week due to illness. “Zurich & Milan, I’m absolutely devastated to be typing this,” the singer wrote in a note. “As lots of you know for the past few nights of tour I’ve been really struggling with my voice, last night in Stockholm I tried my best to sing through the show even with it feeling really uncomfortable because I was desperate not to let any of you down.”

The 26-year-old star said he visited a voice specialist in Sweden who told him that he has bronchitis and that he should get at least three days vocal rest to make sure he doesn’t damage his voice and can continue touring.

“I’m so very sorry to say that means that the shows in Zurich tomorrow night and in Milan the day after will be postponed,” Capaldi continued. “I’ve already checked with the venues free days they can do as well as dates I can make it back over to play these sold out shows that I’ve been buzzing for for so long!” He announced that the Zurich show at the Hallenstadion — which was originally scheduled for Tuesday (March 7) — will take place on June 28 and the Milan show at the Mediolanum Forum — originally scheduled for Wed. (March 8) — will be pushed to May 31; original tickets for the shows will be valid at the make-up dates.

“Hate letting you all down and this is the last thing I want to be writing,” Capaldi concluded. “Going to be doing everything I can with rest and medication to be ready for Barcelona awards.”

Back on Feb. 21, Capaldi got a helping hand from fans after his Tourette’s syndrome affected him mid-song. The moment occurred as the Scottish singer was performing his No. 1 hit “Someone You Loved” for the packed crowd in Frankfurt. In fan-captured footage from the show, Capaldi appeared to be struggling with tics as he sang, “And I tend to close my eyes when it hurts sometimes/ I fall into your arms/ I’ll be safe in your sound till I come back around.”

From there, the fans picked up the song’s chorus, singing, “For now, the day bleeds into nightfall/ And you’re not here to get me through it all/ I let my guard down and then you pulled the rug/ I was getting kinda used to being someone you loved” back at him en masse.

Capaldi’s next scheduled tour date is on Friday (March 10) at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, Spain.

Florence Welch Teases Cover of No Doubt’s ‘Just a Girl’ For ‘Yellowjackets’ Season 2

Florence Welch is ready to join team Yellowjackets by diving into a portal back to 1995. The + the Machine singer teased her contribution to the upcoming second season of the Showtime drama about a girls’ soccer team stranded in the wilderness — and the inescapable echo of the horrifying things that happened there that haunts their adult lives — with a short Instagram teaser on Monday (March 6).

In the clip, Welch is backstage flipping through a wardrobe featuring the expected array of pastel-colored, gauzy dresses as a spooky piano theme plays in the background before she gets to a Team Yellowjackets varsity jacket. “So happy I got picked for the team this year,” reads the caption to the post.

Most crucially, as Welch gets ready to join the squad, her band’s frantic cover of No Doubt’s iconic breakthrough ’95 hit, “Just a Girl,” bubbles up. Whereas the original Gwen Stefani-led track was a bouncy, ska-tinged pop smash about female empowerment, in Welch’s hands the tune takes on a sinister, roiling edge in keeping with the show’s midnight black undercurrent.

The teen footballers are happy to have her, though, with the Yellowjackets account responding, “We make one hell of a team.” The choice of the No Doubt ditty from the group’s breakthrough third album, Tragic Kingdom, is fitting given the song choices in the first season, which leaned into an angsty mid-1990s alt rock playlist as the soundtrack to the increasingly desperate vibe among the teens starving in the woods.

Among the songs sprinkled throughout the first season were tracks by Alanis Morissette (“Uninvited”), Smashing Pumpkins (“Today”), Hole (“Miss World”), Ultravox (“Vienna”), Montell Jordan (“This Is How We Do It”), Prodigy (“Firestarter”) and Mazzy Star (“Fade Into You”). Avril Lavigne Spotted Kissing Tyga Following Mod Sun Split: See the Pic

Avril Lavigne seems to have already moved on following her recent breakup from fiancé Mod Sun.

The “Girlfriend” punk-pop princess was seen kissing Tyga at the Mugler X Hunter Schafer Party during Paris Fashion Week on Monday (March 6). The two also held hands on their way into the bash, according to photos shared by TMZ. The publication also previously reported the duo eating dinner together at Nobu restaurant in Malibu, California.

On Feb. 28, Mod Sun addressed the split from Lavigne on Instagram. “In 1 week my entire life completely changed…I just know there’s a plan for it all. I’ll keep my head up + always listen to my heart, even when it feels broken,” he wrote alongside a carousel of photos and videos posted to his Instagram feed. His caption did not specifically mention Lavigne, but Billboard can confirm it is about their split. “Being surrounded by love every night on tour has been an absolute blessing. I have the best friends in the entire world, thanks for always having my back. See you on stage.”

Rumors of their breakup first began the week before. The two musicians first struck up their relationship when they released “Flames,” a single appearing on Mod Sun’s album Internet Killed the Rockstar, after Machine Gun Kelly introduced them.

Lavigne announced her engagement to Mod Sun in an April 2022 Instagram post, revealing that he popped the big question in Paris just outside the Eiffel Tower. “Oui! Je t’aime pour toujours,” she wrote, which translates to “I love you always,” alongside a black and white photo of the musician down on one knee. “Dimanche. 27. Mars. 2022.”

Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Artimus Pyle Honors His Late Bandmate Gary Rossington: ‘One of the Greatest Guitar Players That Ever Lived’

The music world is mourning Gary Rossington, the last surviving original member of Lynyrd Skynyrd, who died on Sunday (March 5) at the age of 71.

Following the news, Artimus Pyle, who drummed for the rock band during the 1970’s, paid tribute to his late bandmate. “I’ve already gone back, looked at them, and read the entire thread between Gary and I. And I will cherish these texts for the rest of my life,” Pyle, who replaced original drummer Bob Burns in 1975, told Rolling Stone.

“When Bob, Gary and [singer] Ronnie [Van Zant] got together in Bob’s carport on the west side of Jacksonville, Florida, they put something together that went worldwide,” he continued. “Everyone will remember Gary as a road dog, trouper, songwriter, and one of the greatest guitar players that ever lived. He just loved being onstage.”

74-year-old Pyle is now the only living member of the band that was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2006. “As it turns out, being the last living member of Lynyrd Skynyrd is not all it’s cracked up to be,” Pyle said. “It’s painful, and I’m trying to process it and deal with it.”

No cause of death for Rossington was given, though the guitarist had been dealing with health issues over the past couple of decades and particularly since the mid-2010s, when heart ailments occasionally sidelined Rossington, and the band.

In an official statement Lynyrd Skynyrd wrote that, “It is without deepest sympathy and sadness that we have to advise, that we lost our brother, friend, family member, songwriter and guitarist, Gary Rossington today. Gary is now with his Skynyrd brothers and family in heaven and playing it pretty, like he always does. Please keep Dale, Mary and Annie and the entire Rossington family in your prayers and respect the family’s privacy at this time.”

Katy Perry Jokes About Bebe Rexha Getting Slimed at Kids’ Choice Awards: ‘They Were Kind to You Sis’

Katy Perry couldn’t help but relate after Bebe Rexha got slimed at the 2023 Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday.

Rexha — who performed her top 10 Billboard Hot 100 hit “I’m Good (Blue)” sans collaborator David Guetta during the family-friendly awards show — shared the moment she got slimed on social media, writing, “Kids choice awards before and after..” The “When I’m Gone” singer jumped into the comments section of the Instagram post, quipping, “They were kind to you sis.”

Of course, Perry seems to be referencing her own epic appearance at the Kids’ Choice Awards during her Teenage Dream era back in 2010, in which she was quite literally knocked to the ground by her surprise sliming. Several fans also reminisced about the moment after seeing Perry’s comment on social media, with one tweeting, “They tried to take her out fr… all she did was wear a blue wig & make pop hits.”

Another pronounced, “Katy Perry is never going back to the kids choice awards after that,” and a third joked, “no forreal cuz this is an attempted mur-der,” with a crying emoji

Rexha, meanwhile, released her latest single “Heart Wants What It Wants” in mid-February as a precursor to her forthcoming, yet-untitled third album. The upcoming record will be a follow-up to 2021’s Better Mistakes, which contained the singles “Baby I’m Jealous,” featuring Doja Cat; “Sacrifice”; “Sabotage”; and the Lil Uzi Vert collab “Die for a Man.”
