Wynonna Judd to Release ‘Raw’ Paramount+ Documentary, ‘Between Hell & Hallelujah’

Wynonna Judd is headed to Paramount+. On Tuesday (April 18), the streamer announced the country legend’s upcoming documentary Wynonna Judd: Between Hell and Hallelujah.

The feature, which premieres April 26, promises to give fans a vulnerable behind-the-scenes look at Judd’s life as she picks up the pieces, rebuilds her life’s work and embarks on cross-country tour to continue the legacy of The Judds after the tragic passing of her mother Naomi Judd last year. Along the way, country royalty and rising stars alike will make appearances, including Ashley McBryde, Brandi Carlile, Faith Hill, Little Big Town, Kelsea Ballerini, Martina McBride and Trisha Yearwood.

“It’s real and it’s raw. It’s celebration and sadness,” Judd said in a statement. “It’s all of the people who I leaned on during one of the toughest seasons of my life. I wanted the opportunity to tell my story in my voice. If doing so helps one person out there choose life, then I am grateful.”

Just days after its premiere on Paramount+, the documentary will be followed by CMT Presents The Judds: Love Is Alive – The Final Concert, which is set to air April 29 on CMT in the tradition of the mother-daughter duo’s classic farewell tour from the early ’90s.

Jason Owen, the CEO of Sandbox Productions who produced both Judd-centric specials, added, “The Judds will forever be one of country music’s most iconic and storied duos. Their original 1991 farewell concert was entertainment at its finest and being able to recreate that concert with Wynonna and so many talented artists is something I will cherish forever. Watching Wynonna fully embrace this tour to honor The Judds’ legacy was beyond inspiring, and I can’t wait for others to witness her strength in Between Hell and Hallelujah.”

Drake Praises Dominic Fike for ‘Bodying’ His Coachella Set

Dominic Fike has a fan in Drizzy. After nailing his Coachella weekend one set on Sunday (April 16), the singer-songwriter earned praise from none other than Drake on Instagram Stories.

“@dominicfike bodying his set,” the rapper wrote, posting a photo of Fike’s live-streamed performance.

The Euphoria actor expressed his gratitude for the shoutout by reposting Drake’s words on his own Story, adding a respectful salute emoji.

Fike also got love from stars like BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, who posted about his set on Instagram, and Cara Delevigne. According to Rolling Stone, the “Babydoll” musician breezed through his showcase on the festival’s Outdoor Theatre stage, telling fans he “wasn’t even nervous” to be taking on one of the world’s biggest music events.

He also opened up about his sobriety following struggles with substance abuse, sharing: “Hopefully I’ll feel something because, man, it’s been tough. When you quit drugs, it’s tough to get the serotonin back.”

Fike is currently getting ready to step into a new era, with his next studio album expected to arrive via Columbia sometime this year. Two days prior to his Coachella set, he released new single “Dancing in the Courthouse.”

Meanwhile, Drake — who himself headlined Coachella in 2015 — is fresh off the release of his own new single, “Search & Rescue.” The loved-up track left fans and drama-lovers alike buzzing for its inclusion of an audio file of Kim Kardashian’s voice talking about her ill-fated relationship with Kanye West on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and it debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart dated April 22.

SEVENTEEN Reveals the Craziest Places They’ve Met CARATs: Watch

CARATs are worldwide, and SEVENTEEN‘s recent sit down with Billboard News is proof. The K-pop group stopped by to play a quick game with Billboard News host Tetris Kelly, in which they revealed some of the strangest and most interesting places where they have met their dedicated fans.

According to Joshua, the weirdest place he’s ever met a fan was at “Disneyland. I went with my parents too,” he told Kelly, adding that he’s had a spontaneous fan meet at an Apple Store as well. “I met a CARAT on the Ferris wheel in Seattle,” Hoshi said, with Mingyu stating that he “actually run[s] into them quite often.”

When asked who the members of the group are fans of, Hoshi proudly shared that he’s a Justin Bieber fan, while Jun loves KARA and Mingyu is a fan of Billie Eilish. The group also stated that live performances from Bieber — as well as John Mayer, Taemin (of SHINee) and their producer Bumzu — are some of the best they’ve ever attended.

SEVENTEEN is currently in album promotion mode — the group is gearing up to release its 10th mini album, FML, on April 24. The set, which contains a total of six tracks, comes nine months after the release of the group’s repackage album, Sector 17 (which charted at No. 4 on the all genre Billboard 200). The mini album features two tracks, “F*ck My Life” and “손오공 (Super),” which will hit streaming after the album’s formal arrival.

Following the release of FML, the SEVENTEEN 2023 JAPAN FANMEETING ‘LOVE’ will hit Japan in May, taking over Kyocera Dome Osaka and Tokyo Dome across four dates.

Offset Thanks Calvin Harris For ‘Hard’ Takeoff Tribute at Coachella

Calvin Harris honored Takeoff during his Coachella weekend one set, and Offset took notice.

Takeoff, one third of Migos, tragically passed away on Nov. 1, 2022 after being shot at a Houston bowling alley — but fans in the audience still got to hear his voice boom through the speakers at Harris’ Saturday (April 15) festival performance. That was thanks to the DJ’s incorporation of a featured verse recorded by Takeoff before his death into the set; according to People, the “One Kiss” hitmaker lifted Takeoff’s part from the pair’s 2017 Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 collaboration “Holiday” and mixed it into another track from the same album, “Slide.”

“Slide” originally only featured Frank Ocean, Offset and Quavo, so Harris’ augmented Coachella version made it possible for all three members of Migos to shine on the track for the first time ever. Harris also decorated his stage with a large portrait of the “Casper” artist as the song played.

“This so hard, man, thank you,” Offset said, thanking Harris in a post about the performance on his Instagram Story.

Offset also shared a Takeoff tribute of his own on Saturday, posting photos of his brand new tattoo: an inked portrait of his late cousin, so large it covers his entire back. “Love you 4L & after,” he wrote in his caption.

A few weeks prior, Offset previewed a posthumous collab with Takeoff by posting a minute-long snippet of the track on his Story. In the sneak peek, Takeoff could be heard exchanging bars with Vezzo, who’s also featured, before Set takes the reigns with his own solo moment.

‘Last Night’ Gives Morgan Wallen a Pair of Firsts on Hot Country Songs Chart

Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” grants the singer-songwriter two firsts in the history of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, where it leads for a 10th week.

The track joins Wallen’s 19-week Hot Country Songs No. 1 from 2022, “You Proof,” as the second song from his One Thing at a Time album to reign for double-digit weeks — while the set becomes the first with two such leaders since the chart launched as an all-encompassing genre survey in October 1958. (“You Proof” was released eight-and-a-half months ahead of the LP, but is featured on the collection’s 36-song tracklist.)

Wallen is also the first soloist, and second act overall, with as many as three 10-week-plus Hot Country Songs No. 1s. Duo Florida Georgia Line first achieved the feat; Luke Combs and Sam Hunt boast two each.

Here are Wallen’s three Hot Country Songs No. 1s that have dominated for at least 10 weeks:

  • 10 weeks at No. 1, “Last Night,” beginning Feb. 18, 2023
  • 19 weeks, “You Proof,” May 28, 2022
  • 11 weeks, “Wasted on You,” Jan. 23, 2021

And Florida Georgia Line’s:

  • 50 weeks at No. 1 (a chart record), “Meant To Be,” with Bebe Rexha, beginning Dec. 16, 2017
  • 18 weeks, “H.O.L.Y.,” May 21, 2016
  • 24 weeks, “Cruise,” Dec. 22, 2012

Overall, 32 singles have topped Hot Country Songs for 10 or more weeks, out of over 1,500 No. 1s in the list’s history. Of those 32, 21 have led since the chart adopted the Billboard Hot 100’s streaming-, airplay- and sales-based methodology in October 2012.

“Last Night” simultaneously helms the Hot 100 (dated April 22) for a third week. The song, released on Big Loud/Mercury/Republic Records, drew 36.6 million streams (up 4%) and 34.5 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 16%, good for the chart’s top Airplay Gainer award for a second consecutive week) and sold 10,000 downloads (up 6%) in the April 7-13 tracking week, according to Luminate.

Concurrently, One Thing at a Time tops the Billboard 200 for a sixth frame, with 167,000 equivalent album units earned April 7-13, while Wallen also rules the Billboard Artist 100 chart for a fifth week.

Seth Meyers Passed Out on The Floor After Day Drinking With Rihanna: ‘Worth Every Second’

Don’t ever challenge Rihanna to a drink-off. Seth Meyers has revealed that after hitting the bars with the superstar in June 2019 for his show’s “Day Drinking” bit, he was as hammered as he’s ever been in his life, while RihRih seemed pretty much unaffected.

“Rihanna was the drunkest I’ve ever been, and it was worth every second of it,” the late night host shared on Monday night’s (April 18) visit to the The Late Late Show with James Corden. “First of all, I should note that — hate to break the news here — but she’s younger than me. We drank the same amount and then she definitely went out, like she was fine.”

“She walked out, she looked as good as she did when we started,” Meyers continued. “I went home, immediately fell asleep in the hallway of my apartment. Got in the door, fell asleep. My wife passive aggressively, James, put a water next to my head and went to bed.”

For proof, the former SNL star shared a photo of him passed out on his back in his hallway, limbs spread out limply to the side with his cell phone resting on his chest. “I like that I have my phone on my chest just in case Rihanna called,” Meyers joked to friend he will share an overlapping late night spot with for one more week; Corden is signing off from The Late Late Show on April 27.

He and the Fenty Beauty mogul filmed their day drinking escapade in 2019 for a recurring segment on Late Night with Seth Meyers, which has also seen the likes of Lizzo, the Jonas Brothers and Lorde getting tanked in broad daylight with the host. During the segment, Seth and Rih chugged beers, enjoyed bizarre cocktails named after Rihanna songs — “Under My Rumbrella,” for example — and played increasingly sloppy drinking games. And Meyers, indeed, did seem quite sloshed by the end of it.

Watch Seth Meyers reminisce on day drinking with Rihanna above.

He becomes just the fifth artist to have spent at least three weeks leading the three charts at the same time.

Wallen first tripled up atop the tallies dated March 18, as his LP One Thing at a Time launched atop the Billboard 200 and its single “Last Night” hit No. 1 on the Hot 100. The album scores a sixth week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 167,000 equivalent album units earned (April 7-13), according to Luminate, while “Last Night” scores a third week atop the Hot 100.

Most Weeks Simultaneously Leading the Artist 100, Hot 100 & Billboard 200 Charts:
16, Drake
15, Taylor Swift
9, Adele
5, The Weeknd
3, Morgan Wallen
2, Ariana Grande
2, Ed Sheeran
2, Harry Styles
1, Beyoncé
1, Justin Bieber
1, BTS
1, Camila Cabello
1, Future
1, Kendrick Lamar

Wallen places 12 songs on the latest Hot 100. He charted a one-week record 36 songs on the survey dated March 18, all from One Thing at a Time.

The Sneedville, TN, native has now spent 12 total weeks at No. 1 on the Artist 100, extending his record for the most among core country acts. Taylor Swift leads all acts for the most weeks spent at No. 1, with 64.

The Artist 100 measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay and streaming to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.

IU Rules Emerging Artists Chart, Thanks to Agust D Collab ‘People Pt.2’

South Korean singer-songwriter IU (real name: Lee Ji-eun) re-enters Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart (dated April 22) at No. 1, becoming the top emerging act in the U.S. for the first time, thanks to her new hit with Agust D (BTS member Suga‘s musical alter ego), “People Pt.2.”

The song, released April 7, sold 18,000 downloads in the U.S. in its opening week, according to Luminate. It launches at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales, Rap Digital Song Sales and World Digital Song Sales charts. It also starts at No. 16 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart and No. 24 on the Billboard Global 200.su

IU has appeared on Billboard’s charts for over a decade. She first appeared on a listing in December 2011, when her single “You & I” debuted and peaked at No. 3 on World Digital Song Sales. “People Pt.2.” is her 11th top 10 on the chart and second No. 1, after “Eight,” featuring Suga, in May 2020.

“People Pt.2” also earns IU her 21st career entry on World Digital Song Sales, extending her record for the most among female soloists. Among all solo acts, she ties Burna Boy and another BTS member, RM, for the fifth-most, after Wizkid (28), Jay Park (25), Davido and TAEYEON (24 each). BTS leads all acts with a record 146.

The Emerging Artists chart ranks the most popular developing artists of the week, using the same formula as the all-encompassing Billboard Artist 100, which measures artist activity across multiple Billboard charts, including the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200. (The Artist 100 lists the most popular acts, overall, each week.) However, the Emerging Artists chart excludes acts that have notched a top 25 entry on either the Hot 100 or Billboard 200, as well as artists that have achieved two or more top 10s on Billboard’s “Hot” song genre charts and/or consumption-based “Top” album genre rankings.
