Cardi B Is Red-Hot With Stunning New Hairstyle

Cardi B is a master of every hair color, and she debuted her new style on Monday (May 8) on her Instagram Stories.

The “I Like It” rapper shared a selfie video, in which she’s rocking a bright, fire engine red hair color in a Pamela Anderson-inspired messy bun atop her head. In the next clip, she headed to the dentist with her new look, messing with the doctor and the dental assistants as she pretends to flinch every time they try to look inside her mouth.

The bold new style comes just a week after Cardi attended the 2023 Met Gala, during which she stepped onto the iconic red carpet in a sleek tuxedo gown, complete with massive black roses and a Karl Lagerfeld-inspired grey hairdo, perfectly matching this year’s theme, Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.

“My inspirations for this look, it’s just Chanel and Karl. It’s a little mix, because if you see the top, it’s giving the infamous Karl suits with the tie, the white collar. Almost like his suit, but not really,” she explained to Vogue in a behind-the-scenes video of her getting ready for the prestigious event. “At the bottom, if you see the skirt it has the camellias, which is the flower. So yeah, it’s just a little bit of everything. It’s representing the house of Chanel and Karl. Karl is so infamous for his gray hair.”

Here Are All the Performers & Presenters for the 2023 ACM Awards

The ACM Awards are bringing a country music party to Frisco, Texas!

Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks will co-host this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards, set to air May 11 at Ford Center at the Star in Frisco, Texas.

But they will also be guiding an evening of strong performances, highlighted by duets from Carly Pearce and Trisha Yearwood (in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Yearwood winning the ACM’s female artist of the year award). Also collaborating are Cole Swindell and Jo Dee Messina on the remix of Swindell’s “She Had Me at Heads Carolina.” Ashley McBryde will welcome Brandy Clark, Caylee Hammack, Pillbox Patti and John Osborne (on guitar) for a performance of “Bonfire at Tina’s” from McBryde’s collaborative Lindeville project, which is nominated for album of the year. HARDY, who leads this year’s nominees with seven nods, will also make his ACM Awards performance debut.

Morgan Wallen had been slated as a performer, but pulled out of the awards show Tuesday (May 9) and is canceling six weeks of shows due to being placed on vocal rest. Sources tell Billboard that the ACM does not plan on replacing Wallen’s performance slot due to already having a stacked lineup of performers.

While Wallen will not be replaced, the ACM’s announced earlier in the day that pop star Ed Sheeran will be performing. It will be the “Shivers” singer’s first time on the show; he just released his new album, Subtract, on May 5.

Additionally, the ACMs revealed this year’s presenters, as well as contributions from four-time ACM National On-Air Personality of the Year winner Bobby Bones, whose “Backstage With Bobby Bones” interview segment will be featured throughout the evening.

Following HARDY in terms of nominations this year are Lainey Wilson with six nods, then Cole Swindell, Kane Brown, Luke Combs and Miranda Lambert with five nods each.

The awards show will be streaming live for free to a global audience via Prime Video and the Amazon Music channel on Twitch. The full rebroadcast will stream the following day for free on Amazon Freevee.

Chrissy Teigen Shares C-Section Photo in Response to Strange Claim That She Was ‘Born Male’ & Faked Her Pregnancy

One thing about Chrissy Teigen is she’s never letting a troll get away easily.

The model took to her Instagram Stories on Monday (May 8) to share a screenshot of a bizarre comment under a photo of her four-month-old daughter Esti Maxine, in which a commenter claimed that Teigen was “born male” and used a device “called a moonbump” to pretend she was pregnant while her daughter was born via surrogate.

In response, the Cravings cookbook author shared a photo of her C-section in January, when she welcomed her third child. “Extremely realistic ‘moon bump,’” she captioned the snap, in which Esti is clearly seen coming out of Teigen’s body. See Teigen’s Stories before they disappear here.

Esti’s birth came just a little over two years since Teigen suffered a pregnancy loss at 20 weeks in September 2020 — a son they’d already named Jack. In February 2022, she shared that she had started IVF treatment in the hopes of conceiving again, and in August, she announced that she was pregnant.

Teigen’s husband John Legend previously told E! News that the Esti’s unique name was initially the model’s idea, but it also has surprising roots in his own family tree. “It turns out, my great-grandmother was named Esther,” he said. “It wasn’t intentionally after someone, but once Chrissy told me that idea, I was like, ‘Oh, my great-grandmother’s name was Esther.’

Teigen and Legend are also parents to seven-year-old Luna and four-year-old Miles.

Diddy & Jermaine Dupri Will Finally Go Head-to-Head in Verzuz Battle: Here’s When

After years of competitive banter and cold feet, a date has reportedly been set for the epic Verzuz battle between music legends Diddy and Jermaine Dupri.

In a video shared over the weekend, Diddy confirms to Busta Rhymes that the show will take place on Sept. 8, at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. “We gon’ have you out the rafters flying out the sky,” he excitedly added.

While fans have been murmuring about a potential battle between the Atlanta mainstay and Bad Boy CEO since 2020, the two legends joined the conversation in 2021, after Dupri challenged Diddy in a tweet. Initially, Diddy turned his proposition down, declaring that Dupri didn’t have enough hits. “I’ll smash you with just Biggie n Mary [J. Blige]. But I do have the utmost respect on you as a musical legend,” he said, adding, “[Dr.] Dre the only one can get in the ring w me.”

The two even playfully argued during an Instagram Live with Fat Joe and Snoop Dogg about who would win, but in 2022 they said they’d go head-to-head in a “non-Verzuz” battle, after co-founders Swizz Beatz and Timbaland filed a $28 million lawsuit against Verzuz parent company Triller. “We’re not f—ing with Triller until they take care of Timb and Swizz,” Diddy said in a now-deleted video. In September 2022, Swizz and Tim settled their lawsuit with Triller, now owning a larger share of the company.

While neither Timbaland nor Verzuz have yet to comment on the scheduled date, Swizz shared a number of posts to his Instagram Story confirming the battle. A number of memorable Verzuz battles have already taken place at New York’s famed Madison Square Garden, including The LOX vs. Dipset and Ja Rule vs. Fat Joe.

While many fans think Diddy will come out on top, others note that Dupri’s pen is untouchable, and that the So So Def founder is individually responsible for a number of diamond hits, while Diddy often collaborated with a team. Come September, all that will matter is the court of public opinion, as Verzuz does not declare an official winner to their battles.

Dupri has reached RIAA-certified diamond success thanks to his work on Usher’s Confessions and has achieved 11 career Hot 100 No. 1 records. Diddy boasts his own set of impressive achievements as a producer and artist, playing a pivotal role in the careers of icons including Mary J Blige and Biggie Smalls.

BTS’ Suga Reveals His Favorite Song by This Billboard Hot 100 Hitmaker

BTS‘ Suga used the Monday (May 8) episode of his Agust D radio show on Apple Music to shed light on the music that has made him the musician he is today, and revealed that one of his favorite songs is a track by Bruno Mars.

During the radio show, Suga said Mars’ “Talking to the Moon” holds a special place in his heart. “He’s our friend, Bruno Mars. I think this song came out when I was in high school, and I remember listening to it a lot during the [BTS] trainee days,” he shared. “I liked this track the most out of the album. Listen to ‘Talking to the Moon.’ It’s good. I don’t recommend bad songs.”

While “Talking to the Moon” did not chart stateside for Mars, the track did see a resurgence during the pandemic via TikTok, where a remixed version by Jnr Choi went viral after being used in videos on the social media platform. The original version of the tune was released on the deluxe edition of 2010’s Doo-Wops & Hooligans.

Elsewhere in the radio show, Suga named Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto as one of his favorite musicians. The pair worked together on the BTS rapper’s track “Snooze” before Sakamoto passed away in March.

“It was such an honor for me to get a chance to work with him. I was heartbroken by the news of his passing recently,” Suga said. “I would like to convey my respect and gratitude by recommending these three tracks of his that I love: ‘Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence,’ ‘Opus,’ and ‘Railroad Man.’” 

Suga is set to continue his Agust D solo world tour. The North American leg of the trek concludes in California with a trio of dates in Inglewood on May 10-11 and 14, and ending with Oakland May 16-17. The rapper will continue the tour throughout Asia.

Kaytranada & Aminé Reveal ‘KAYTRAMINÉ’ Track List Feat. Snoop Dogg, Big Sean, Amaarae & More

Kaytranada and Aminé are ready to get the summer started with their joint album KAYTRAMINÉ, which the new duo announced Tuesday (May 9) would be released next Friday, May 19.

The Canadian DJ/producer and Ethiopian-American rapper teased KAYTRAMINÉ and dropped the Pharrell-assisted “4EVA” single last month. But now they’re revealing more details, including the album artwork and track list. The 11-track project will feature more collaborations with Freddie Gibbs (“LETSTALKABOUTIT”), Big Sean (“MASTER P”), Amaarae (“SOSSAUP”) and Snoop Dogg (“EYE”).

Earlier this month, the two previewed new music at a Met Gala afterparty, and during Kaytranada’s weekend one Coachella performance in April, he brought out Aminé to perform “4EVA.”

Kaytranada and Aminé have worked on numerous songs together throughout the years, including “La Danse,” “YeYe,” “Not At All” (Aminé’s remix of Kaytranada’s “At All” from his 2015 EP At All / Hilarity Duff) and “Egyptian Luvr” from Rejjie Snow‘s 2018 album Dear Annie (that features Aminé and Dana Williams and was produced by Kaytranada).

Kaytranada teamed up with rapper IDK on the album Simple. last year. He also worked on songs with Joyce Wrice (“Iced Tea”) and Anderson .Paak (“Twin Flame”), as well as remixes of The Weeknd‘s “Out of Time,” Rochelle Jordan‘s “All Along” and, in 2023, Sam Gellaitry‘s “Assumptions.” Aminé hasn’t released a new project since 2021’s TWOPOINTFIVE, which came one year after his sophomore album LIMBO. Kaytranada and Aminé were both nominated in the best dance recording category at the 2021 Grammy Awards — for “10%” with Kali Uchis and “My High” by Disclosure featuring Slowthai, respectively (the former ended up taking home the trophy).

Morgan Wallen Cancels 6 Weeks of Shows on Voice Doctor’s Orders: ‘I Hate It’

Morgan Wallen shared some hard news with fans on Tuesday morning (May 9) in an Instagram video in which he revealed that he needs to take six weeks off from his current tour. “I’m just gonna go ahead and get straight to it. I got some bad news from my doctors at the Vanderbilt Voice Center yesterday. After taking 10 days of vocal rest I performed three shows last weekend in Florida and by the third one I felt terrible,” the singer said.

“So I went in and go scoped yesterday and they told me that I re-injured my vocal cords and that I have vocal fold trauma,” he added, swallowing hard. Wallen said his doctor’s advice was that he go on vocal rest for six weeks. “So that’s what I’m gon’ do,” he said, noting that that his team advised him not to talk at all, but that if he needed to it was okay for something like his announcement.

He added that he tore his lat muscle while on tour in Australia and while he’s been trying to work through that injury in private, the upcoming time off should help with that issue as well. Wallen said his team is almost finished rescheduling all his current and upcoming dates, with news about all the shows expected soon. Following last week’s trio of shows in Jacksonville, West Palm Beach and Tampa, Wallen was not scheduled to perform again until a May 18 gig at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, PA.

In addition to two shows at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, Wallen had gigs on tap in Austin and Houston, TX on May 24 and 26, a pair of shows in Atlanta on June 2-3, an appearance at the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam in Panama City Beach, FL, two shows at Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater in Virginia Beach, VA on June 8-9 and a June 10 spot at the Carolina Country Music Fest in Myrtle Beach, SC on June 10. The singer was booked to play a series of stadium shows in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Chicago and Detroit through the end of June. At press time spokespeople for Wallen had not announced which shows have been impacted or potential replacement dates.

In addition to his headlining shows, Wallen is also forced to bow out of the Thursday’s (May 11) ACM Awards and the ACM’s Lifting Lives event on Wednesday (May 10), where he was slated to take the stage alongside Hardy, Lainey Wilson, Ernest and Bailey Zimmerman at the annual charity function for those struggling with health issues.

“They told me that if I do this the right way, I’ll get back to 100% and they also said that if I don’t listen and I keep singing, then I’ll permanently damage my voice,” Wallen said of his doctor’s advice. “So for the longevity of my career, this is just a choice I had to make. I hate it. But I love you guys, and I appreciate all the support that you always give me.”

According to a release from Wallen’s spokesperson, tickets for the original dates will be honored for all rescheduled performances and a 30-day refund window will open at the point of purchase when the new dates are announced; missed festival dates will be rescheduled for 2024.

Wallen made news last month after canceling a planned show at Oxford, MS’s Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on April 23 after his opening acts performed and just moments before he was to take the stage. “I thought I was going to be good to go and I just wasn’t,” he said in a message to the 60,000 disappointed fans who were sent home that night without seeing him.

Jelly Roll Will Shed Light on His Life Story & Path to Fame in ABC News Documentary, ‘Save Me’

Jelly Roll will be the subject of a new documentary by ABC News, the outlet shared on Tuesday (May 9).

Titled Jelly Roll: Save Me, the film promises to follow the country-rap sensation’s “journey of redemption in real time” as he works through his mental health and addiction struggles and grapples with his rising fame.

Leading up to his hometown show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, the doc will chart the “Need a Favor” singer’s life story — including stints in the criminal justice system as both a teen and an adult before he broke out into the mainstream in with his 2022 single “Son of a Sinner.” Jelly Roll will also shine a light on his philanthropic work by visiting the juvenile detention center where he was incarcerated multiple times during his adolescence to share his story and attempt to make a meaningful impact on the current generation of at-risk youth.

Jelly Roll: Save Me is set to premiere May 30 exclusively on Hulu before the release of the rising star’s debut country album Whitsitt Chapel, which will arrive on June 2 via BBR Music Group.

In April, Jelly Roll swept the 2023 CMT Music Awards with the most awards of the night including male video of the year, male breakthrough video of the year and CMT digital-first performance of the year — all for “Son of a Sinner.” At the show, he couldn’t help but pinch himself after seeing Gwen Stefani perform No Doubt’s “Just a Girl” with Carly Pearce, revealing in an interview that the band’s live act was the second concert he ever attended in his life.

Rita Lee, ‘Queen of Brazilian Rock,’ Dies at 75

Rita Lee, known as the “Queen of Brazilian Rock” for hits like “Ovelha Negra,” “Mania de Você” and “Now Only Missing You,” died on Monday (May 8) at 75, her family confirmed. Lee was notably diagnosed with lung cancer in 2021.

“We communicate the passing of Rita Lee, at her residence in the capital of São Paulo, at the end of the night, surrounded by all the love of her family, as she always wanted,” a statement published on her official Instagram account on Tuesday read, in Portuguese.

Known for her fusion of psicodelia with pop, MPB, bossa and new wave, the legendary Latin Grammy Award-winning artist — who is one of Brazil’s most successful singer-songwriters — got her start with the group Os Mutantes before launching a fruitful solo career. Last November, she was recognized with the Latin Grammy’s Lifetime Achievement Award, but she could not attend to receive it at the ceremony in Las Vegas.

“Rita Lee was a visionary artist and one of the best-selling singer/songwriters in the history of Brazil,” said Manuel Abud, CEO of the Latin Recording Academy, in a Tuesday statement in which he expressed his “most sincere condolences to her family, friends and all lovers of her music.”

Born on December 31, 1947 in São Paulo, Lee began her career with the band Os Mutantes and recorded albums with the band Tutti Frutti, including 1975’s Fruto Proibido. In 1979, she released the LP Rita Lee — which included classics such as “Mania De Você”, “Lança Perfume” and “Caso Sério” — in collaboration with her husband, the multi-instrumentalist Roberto de Carvalho, in an artistic partnership that continued into the 1980s with a long list of radio hits and massive concerts.

In later decades she made acoustic recordings such as Aqui, Ali, em Qualquer Lugar, a collection based on songs by The Beatles. In 2015 she celebrated her career with a CD collection, and the following year she published an autobiography in which she described herself as a “rebel” and “hippie communist.”

A public wake will be held at the São Paulo planetarium on Wednesday, May 10, the family said in the statement, adding that according to Lee’s wishes, her body will be cremated.

Lee is survived by her husband and collaborator Roberto do Carvalho and three children.

It’s a bird, it’s a plane — it’s Harry Styles! The Grammy winner is set to transform from pop star to pop art in Fame: Harry Styles, a brand new comic book from TidalWave Comics chronicling his biggest accomplishments and the story of how he rose to fame.

Written by Darren G. Davis and illustrated by Ramon Salas, the 22-page comic arrives Wednesday (May 10) in digital and print format, in both hard and soft cover. Through brightly colored, superhero-style artwork and snappy captions, Fame will explore Styles’ upbringing in England; his breakthrough with One Direction bandmates Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne on X Factor; and his present-day success as a solo artist.

“Harry Styles is arguably the most beloved male pop star in the world right now,” reads a description for the project. “No matter what medium he’s occupying, his FAME continues to grow.  For the first time, you can now read about his life story in comic book form.”

One of the highlights of the book is its illustrations of Styles wearing some of his most iconic outfits, from the plaid shirt he wore in 1D’s “What Makes You Beautiful” music video to the ball gown and blazer he sported on his historic Vogue cover. There’s also a panel featuring the Pleasing founder’s avatar — which is drawn with a chiseled jaw and bright green eyes to match the real-life superstar — in Styles’ sparkly red “As It Was” music video jumpsuit, as well as a panel showing him in costume as his Marvel character, Eros.

Styles is far from the first musician to get the comic-book treatment from TidalWave, whose Fame series has also featured Lady Gaga, Lil Nas X, Beyoncé, Drake, Selena Gomez and more. Dolly Parton, Stevie Nicks and Dave Grohl have also served as comic-book muses in the past.

“We’ve found a niche with our bio comics,” said TidalWave publisher Darren G. Davis in a statement. “Our success with this comic shows that there is a much wider audience for sequential storytelling than many thought. These readers are simply looking for something other than superheroes or horror. With our bio comics, we strive to bring these new readers evenhanded, well-researched looks at some of their favorite celebrities.”
